Hello everyone my name is pixel risk and welcome back to the skyblock survival guide hope you guys are having a good day I’m having a great one we’re back here in the sky block world and I want to clear up a couple of things from the Last episode first of all the snow golem over here is in a Plains biome this shouldn’t affect his snow production at all do I have silk touch on this I do okay I wanted to show you this because I ended up trying to drag him up a couple Of blocks and it turns out that works super well so yes there we go I just needed to move him up one more block and it turns out he was in the right place so let me try and block him off real fast so that we can actually have a snow Farm here there we go I think that should do a little bit of an impromptu setup with the leaves here but just rearrange a couple of these glass blocks and we should be good to go just to think that I just needed to move him up one additional block from where he was It’s yes sometimes it’s just that simple anyway with that taken care of I should just be able to yep mine snow to my heart’s content by looking at the sides of the block he is not standing on and I don’t know what I’m gonna do with these Snow balls but at least we have a decent supply of them now except when I accidentally break the glass oops maybe I can use these to soften up the blazes at the nether fortress mob farm but at the very least I can use them to make a Few more snow blocks and that means I can make more snow golems if I want to and if anything happens to that guy then he can be replaced at least that is very very good news we’ve made good use of the snow and we don’t have to farm snow In a biome where it just has to wait for rainfall to fall naturally the next thing I want to do with this episode and the main topic of this episode is going to be a drowned farm and we’re going to make a drowned farm specifically rather than drowning of the zombies in the Zombie spawner down here for a couple of reasons the first of which being that I want to get myself the clay that is mentioned in the collector achievements here drowns dropping clay balls means we can found them to get a stack of clay blocks which then leads to us at getting Every color of terracotta which is the next step in this the other one of course being Trident and you can’t get a trident in Java Edition from drowning zombies and converting them that way they never end up holding the items that they would naturally spawn with like fishing rods Nautilus shells and So I think it’s probably worth doing for one of the other ocean advancements which is to try to toss a trident to get ourselves a trident and that will be almost all of these ocean advancements complete although apparently obtaining every head in the game is part of the Ocean advancements not quite sure how that works but anyway I think we’re gonna have to find ourselves a river biome for this now we could do the unusual thing the thing that we can’t normally do in vanilla of making a drowned farm in an ocean biome because You can of course get drowned spawning in oceans and it is possible to get them spawning out there but however I kind of think it’s better to make them in a river biome studies have shown and by studies I mean videos by El mango here have shown that it is actually 50 times More likely for a drowned to spawn in a River biome than it is for a drowned to spawn in an ocean not only that but oceans also have a bunch of other stuff that spawns there namely things like dolphins squid and a whole bunch of fish And at the very least we can eliminate the dolphin spawns by making this farm in a river I’m fairly certain we can also eliminate squid spawns if we build it low enough down in the world and the ideal location for that is going to be a River biome now for the purposes of this video I did do a little bit of scouting out here and I’ve determined that there is a river biome somewhere between this island and that island over there the island that originally had the snow and the spruce tree on it so I am going to Probably grab some cobblestone slabs from the ample supply of cobblestone we already have over here at the cobblestone generator I’m gonna sleep for the night so it’s a little bit safer and then I’m going to try and make my way out to where I think this River Biome can be found yeah here we are just about halfway between that island over there which I believe originally had a birch tree on it and that one over there which had the spruce tree we have this section here and as I come out into the Void you will see the biome there in the left hand side in the biome data turns into a river and it is around this area that I decided to set up the Drowned farm and I have had a crack at this in a creative copy of the sky block test World so I kind of know what I’m doing here the next step is to trace the outline of the River biome by checking around the areas here to make sure that we aren’t stepping over into the areas where it turns into stone sure but there should Be a pretty square section here which is just marked out as River yep there we go we’ve got one there we can bring that in like so and we got planes on this side River there and then it becomes stone sure like that let’s see if there are Any other River areas we can take advantage of here because there should be some more in one direction or another so I’ve now been able to outline a couple of fairly square patches of this River biome and I think we’re going to convert both of these into our farm we Could be a bit more meticulous about it and trace every single block that belongs to the River biome but that tends to get a little bit more jigsaw looking and I kind of feel like we could make this a nice neat squared-off farm if we want to there is only one block Here which I think it’s this one that is actually in the mountains biome and the ones either side of that a river so we can probably just leave that in however we don’t want to build it this high up in the world because as I mentioned before that means squid starts spawning In the farm to avoid squid spawns just to keep it limited to salmon which are just gonna spawn at any height in a river and the Drowned I actually want to move this farm down to below Y level 43 which is the lowest point in the world at which squid will Spawn they spawn within about 20 block range starting at sea level and proceeding on downwards so we are gonna drop this whole thing a little bit further down and then we’re gonna build this outline again using top half slabs this time instead of bottom half slabs It’s gonna mean we need to light it up a little bit as we go but waterlogging top half slabs is a great way to have water just fall down from the top here and make sure the entire top section is covered in water sources flowing downwards we’re not gonna be able to do That with bottom half slabs though because as you can see the water doesn’t leak through the bottom half of the slab it just rests here on the top half when you water log it so I guess I have a little bit of falling to do I’m gonna Place the water source against this head down to about y40 and start the farm there and that ladies and gentlemen is the outline of a river so I am gonna just outline the rest of this in planks and then we can start placing in the water sources that are going to fall Down to roughly the height of the void probably up a couple of blocks from that actually just to give us a little bit of room to lay a trap for the Drowned so that we can deal some damage to them and collect whatever drops they have handy but we are going to Need the turtle eggs that we scooped up in the last a few episodes we’re going to need a bunch more resources we’re gonna need these leaves so that we can create a spawn proof platform for the Drowned to land on and we are going to need to Create a whole lot of fence gates at once again because fence gates are really the key to letting this stuff through while preventing water from falling through and you could do that with signs of course but I find fence gates a little bit easier to place what With them not having to be written on and having to hit escape every so often to cancel the sign writing process I kind of like using fence gates for this stuff so that’s the resources we’re gonna need but aside from that it should be a relatively simple operation I am Just going to cut off at this platform here this little section of the farm even though that is technically valid a River biome spawning space I think it’s gonna be nicer just to have a squared off the farm and make as few detours in this outline as possible so once we lay In the rest of these planks we should be good to go and I can probably bring a couple of water buckets over here so that we can start an infinite water source and make filling up these slabs with water a little bit more bearable so with our infinite water source set up Over here the idea is that we’re going to be water logging each of these slabs are one at a time and while it might not look like anything has just happened if we yes sneak a peak down there you can clearly see that water is descending all The way to the void level and hopefully that should be water within a River biome so we’ll start to spawn things like fish and the Drowned I don’t really want it to spawn many of the Drowned right now though so I’m not going to fill the entirety of this space up in Fact I’m probably going to remove that water log from that slab just so that we can avoid contact with them until we are ready for this farm to open up for business now I will need to get myself down a little bit further we’ll need to Go down to roughly why seven or why six so that we can set up the next stage of this which is going to be the platform that will catch all of the Drowned once they fall and this is always the most nerve-wracking part of the process with Only a few scant blocks between us and the void but yeah we have a few blocks there which should be enough for us to start our platform of leaves perfect okay now we can make an outline of the underneath of this farm making sure that we leave adequate space on the site here Because roughly about there I guess over here is where we’re going to be setting up the area for the ground to fall into a little trap we’re going to make using the turtle eggs so I can probably just use the outline of the farm above me or maybe Use the outline of the river biome itself and lay out an area where all of these drown mobs are going to be falling there’s the outline pretty squarely traced I think we should be able to set up a section over here for the turtle Eggs to sit now we just got to fill this entire thing in which in this case took about three and a half stacks of leaves but there we go we have a platform for the Drowned to stand on and we have enough leaves at left over to set up a Spawn proof platform for the player and also for some turtle eggs the next step is to count three blocks up one two three and place a slab there and that is where the water is gonna be held back by a ring of slabs around the outside we Also kind of put a second ring above it like that and that’s going to keep the drowned inside the farm until they fall through the fence gates at the bottom here and this is kind of following advice that I’ve seen about drowned farms elsewhere and advice I followed When I built a drowned farm in the Survival Guide series where if you leave a space above that if you don’t let the Drowned get blocked by something as they fall down here they can start pathfinding towards the player or the the bait turtle eggs a little bit too Early so it’s usually a good idea to make sure you have a little bit of a buffer ring around the outside here made out of some sort of transparent block I’m gonna be using slabs because they’re widely available but glass would also do the trick but having built that as a Demonstration I actually need to build it one block further in because this is going to exactly mirror the ring of spruce planks that I put around the outside here because that is where the water is going to be held back and underneath this we’re going to set up a Bunch of fence gates which are going to stop the water from falling down vertically but are going to allow the Drowned to fall through so I just need to follow the outline of the leaf block so you place down here once again and that should catch all of the water as it Falls down from the top here we do need to be a little bit precise with this step though because water is a giant mess to clean up if it ends up falling anywhere it shouldn’t do it does take a while for it to disappear in some cases And in others if it’s flowing down the side there you may find that it kind of gets stuck where it is and and you have to build like a column of blocks in order to get rid of the water sources entirely so yeah that shouldn’t be too Much of a problem though we should be able to at least trace the outline of those spruce planks above and the next step after that is going to be placing in all the fence gates I have to say this thing already looks a little bit prettier than the Drowned farm in the Survival Guide just from the fact that it’s a nice regular shape instead of a giant jigsaw mess but here we go with the fence gates I think I should have enough to cover this area and if you ever need to know exactly how many fence gates you’re about to craft one fence Gate is actually the equivalent of one log because it’s two planks and four sticks which is what you’re able to get out of four planks that you get from a single log so you will really only need one log per fence gate if you want to Math it out like that anyway I’m gonna place all of these in position like so we just need to cover the areas where the water is gonna flow down from above and that we can just build them up in lines like this they will need to be Opened up so that the Drowned can fall through but that of course will not let the water through and it should be a fairly simple process to place all of these in sequence the next step of course is to open all of these fence gates one by one which is probably the Most boring thing you will ever have to do in Minecraft Bert I think it’s gonna be worth it once we get this drowned farm up and running just make sure you got some fireworks on your hotbar just in case you end up strafing too far and falling off the platform like I’ve done A couple of times and with that done if we poured water from the sky right about now we would get all kinds of stuff spawning we would get the Drowned we would get some fish and they would all eventually start to sink down here and flop out at the bottom the fish are Gonna die on mass so if you want to get a fish farm set up here to gather up all of the salmon and the bone meal that they will probably drop here and there then you can do that by getting a hopper minecart running underneath this whole system but the Drowned Are a little bit of a special case we’re going to want to basically corral them into an area over here which I’m going to set up using trapdoors which will lure them into an area over here that they can then fall down into a collection area for us to swipe at them With a sword does this sort of have looting why yes it does okay great we’re gonna be getting tons of clay from these guys let’s quickly craft a couple of trap doors over here and I think the way we’re gonna do this is we’re going to Have three trap doors on this side like so one two three and we’re gonna have three trap doors on this side over here meaning this corner space is going to be it’s somewhat but they’ll probably have stronger pathfinding than that then we’re gonna create a little platform of Leaves here with the trapdoors facing outwards like so and on this little section here there will be enough room for the Drowned to fall down we can place three turtle eggs and I’m gonna use three there because sometimes the Drowned take a little while to notice The turtle eggs if there is just one whereas I think if there are three it might have a slightly higher chance of grabbing their attention I don’t know if it’s actually the case but I’m gonna give it a try anyway it worked pretty well when I was testing this in the First place I’m gonna build up these leaves on either side here so they don’t have a way of pathfinding around and getting stuck there and that’s also going to be built downwards underneath here so that we can set up a player catchment area for the Drowned to come Down into now comes the even more tricky part where we have to go down a couple of blocks further towards the void and I need to make sure I have fireworks on my hotbar just in case this goes badly for me but I think yes we have left enough Space that I can build whoa yeah that’s that’s the heart and mouth moment for you guys we can build a little platform down here that I can stand on and the Drowned can get collected in this area and we can swipe at them with the looting sort And when it’s all built up this is what the trapper looks like we’re gonna place our three turtle eggs there the Drowned will fall down into this area and right here we’re going to have a waterlogged section there it’s I mean not waterlogged as such but it’s just got a Nice water flow from the back the Drowned are gonna paths find towards that water source block as well as the eggs so that’s double the reason for them to come over here and the water source is going to act to split the Drowned to either side making them slightly Easier for you to attack with a sword making sure they don’t get stuck there at the back and also direct the drops towards me so that I can collect them all up and hopefully that should allow us to collect a fair amount of loot of course we could always replace this Front row here with hoppers if we wanted the stuff to be collected in a nice loot chests over here but I think I’m mainly going to be over here with an empty inventory trying to get myself a decent amount of clay so the next step is going To be to get the turtle eggs in place and then start pouring the water down from above but first of course I should probably make sure there is a sensible way for me to get down here without the Drowned seeing me and shooting a trident at me not To mention the fact that if you are in water while the Drowned are in here then they are going to be actively trying to look for you and that’s not a great idea this farm is mainly going to want to operate during the day as well so we are Gonna have to build a roof over this thing when I was testing ground farms in creative before I made this episode to refresh my memory a little bit I did find that during the night ground pathfinding works a little bit differently and they tend to hover in the water instead of just falling Straight down into the farm so we’re probably gonna bring a bed over here just so I can make it day when I need to and that’s going to make the day-to-day operation of the farm a whole lot easier so grabbed three of the eight remaining Turtle eggs I had a bed and some more spruce planks that we can use to make a nice easy ladder access to this farm just in case I don’t have the elektra on me and I don’t feel like flying towards that section of the farm it’s gonna be Nice and easy to get down there if we have a ladder accessible through one of these branching sky pathways of course we can always link it up via various other means later we can always add a nether portal or something like that to it if we want to but right now I don’t Really feel like going to the effort I feel like just making a simple ladder so I can make sure I can get up and down nice and easily is straightforward enough for me and I think that should be the last we need this water source for So I guess I will collect that up and we should have a ladder down there if we need it let’s place the bed down here and hopefully I should get out of that at a sensible point and not fall into the void always a little bit sketchy When you use these things that leaves there we go let’s widen out this platform a little bit for ease of access and for now I think it should be safe to go ahead and plant these three turtle eggs up there here we go one two and three those should be perfectly safe if You want to cage these off of course that’s totally fine just in case anything else spawns here that you’re a little bit worried about but the Drowned will try and pass find towards them in order to stomp up and down on them and they will need three blocks of head room Above the egg in order to do that so make sure you don’t place blocks too close to the tops of the eggs they will need a little bit of headroom first but that’s totally fine it should be absolutely fine to leave the eggs out in the open here because nothing else Should be able to spawn these slabs are at the half block height instead of being top half slabs and all of these leaves are not going to be spawn abour by your average I think that’s everything we need to do before we just go ahead and unleash the Water from above and after that it’s just a matter of building the roof so I guess let’s go up here and let’s do this in the form of a time lapse [Applause] [Applause] Hey folks welcome back I hope you enjoyed the time-lapse and I am really happy to see that the Drowned are now spawning in here and it’s looking like this is one heck of a farm you just have to take a little bit of time a little Bit away from the farm to make sure that the Drowned find their way down here and it does need a bit of a distance from the farm twee three blocks just for that mob spawning perimeter but as you can see now we get them spawning because we’re Able to build this farm so low down in the world we should be seeing slightly higher mobs spawn rates than the ones I’d be getting from the river biome farm that I built in the survival guide’ world which had to be super high up in the sky it’s not gonna be hugely Productive in the same way that a mob farm built at y1 is going to be but it is certainly upping that threshold a little bit and as you can see some of the Drowned are spawning with accessories I’ve seen a couple with trident already at the end of that last Time lapse cliff I did not get a trident from them sadly but I’ve already got over a stack of clay which is awesome stuff I have to start converting that into blocks for the advancement but I got myself a little bit of gold out of the bargain as well plenty of rotten Flesh to trade with the clerics and of course a fair share of raw salmon but look at this we’re getting two or three of them spawning at a time which is really not all that bad now all we need to do is go in there sweep at the Containment area clean them all out of there and then hopefully we should get a bunch more spawning as well sleep for the night to make sure that they’re pathfinding doesn’t go all weird and we are in for a winner here folks I don’t think I saw any of these guys drop down Here with tried ins but you never know and the looting is definitely going to be helping us towards getting a trident or two once we have the opportunity we’re certainly getting plenty of clay which was the whole point of the exercise in the first place really and we’re getting those Nautilus shells Which reminds me people have been asking where exactly we’re going to find a heart of the sea so that we could get a conduit there’s a guy with a trident hopefully we’ll be able to snag that off of him in a second but yeah I’m not sure Where we gonna be able to find a heart of the sea there doesn’t seem to be a shipwreck anywhere on this map and who knows where you would bury treasure in Skyblock world but I have my suspicions that we could do some cool stuff later on and actually go out and find a Conduit ourselves or find a heart of the sea or rather ourselves I don’t think it is hidden in the ocean monument but if it was that would be a really cool little like Easter Egg for that but I do think we need to do some some shenanigans to get ourselves a conduit In this series and I’m looking forward to trying that out a little bit later on but we would need it of course if we wanted to do that how did we get here advancement that we are supposed to be preserving the elder Guardian for our looks like we didn’t get the Trident I Got a fishing rod off of somebody though but anyway it looks like this farm is doing great and we’re getting a little bit of gold and a bunch of rotten flesh a little bit there as well great stuff 30 – half a stack of clay fantastic let Me just hang around for long enough that we can get the full stack claim that advancement for the end of the episode and then I think we’re gonna wrap things up here well so far according to the stat screen I have killed 107 drowned And still no Trident sad to say but I do have enough to get myself that clay collector advancement finally and now we can start smelting that to turn it into terracotta and from there into all of the different colors but I think I’m gonna hang around this farm for a little While longer and see if I can get myself something good it’s pretty obvious that sooner or later we are guaranteed to get a trident unless there is some sort of shenanigans going on with this map which I don’t think there is but I’m looking forward to it but I Think that’s probably where we’re going to wrap this up for today folks I hope you enjoyed this episode of the sky blog let’s play let me know if you did leave a like on it if you enjoyed it subscribe if you want to see more and I’ll see you Guys soon take care bye for now Video Information
