What’s up guys my name is lemon slice and you probably know me for my building and one of my favorite things to build in minecraft is just normal minecraft houses and i’m sure that’s a simple thing that everybody likes to build and wants to learn how to get better at you Could probably tell by the title that’s what we’re going to learn how to do today i’m going to be giving you my tips for building minecraft houses as i sit here upon my great builder’s throne so if you always boot up a minecraft world and you go to build your first house and It turns out looking like this then i think this is the right place for you so if you’re ready to learn how to build your minecraft houses way better then hit the like button guys before we get started make sure you’re subscribed and i guarantee no matter what level of Building you’re at there will be something in this video that you will take with you into your next minecraft house building and if you’re new here and you need proof of my credentials here’s here’s a few of the houses i’ve built in minecraft just just a few yeah just a couple Let’s get into the video so i’m gonna give you some of my knowledge from building tons of houses in minecraft all the little things that i’ve picked up on over time so that you can become a better builder starting here with the very basics guys which is Use odd numbers it’s so much easier to work with odd numbers as opposed to even numbers now there are exceptions there’s definitely some builds or some parts of builds that definitely work better with an even side but generally guys for houses stick to odd numbered sides now you’re going To have to lay out your house eventually like i said we’re using odd sides right here this is a 7 by i think 9 maybe it’s 11 but either way guys you want to use odd numbers on all sides and create different shapes and right here i have Examples of different shapes you can make and i would stay away from the classic rectangle maybe do something a little more advanced like this the l you know a little l or a t something like this guys there’s always tons and tons of combinations of shapes you can use But this is one of my favorite just the l-shaped house it’s just so classic and makes it look a little more complicated than a plain rectangle now moving on to something a little bit more advanced once you have your basic layout of your house made maybe you want to add some Little sticking out parts or towers so here are some circle shapes you can use in your house i always like to have a tower in my builds i don’t know it just makes it look so much cooler so i’ll grab one of these shapes and attach it To another shape so i took the l here and grabbed a tower shape and put it in here so what we’re gonna have is an l-shaped house with a tower in the corner here and that’s just simple simple things you think about before building the house make sure you lay it Out and get the picture in your head and make sure everything is laid out with odd numbers or else you’re going to end up with a mess the next super important part of building a minecraft house is figuring out what blocks you’re even going to use to build it and right here I’m going to give you some examples of some amazing block palettes you can use in your minecraft houses and guys right here is just stone types of things this will be more of the solid part of your house for example the walls and things like that made out of stone the solid Parts right there but then as we move over here you also want to get some wood in your house so here’s some really really good classic wood combinations these three are three of my favorite combinations of wood but it’s always good to have at least one type of wood Mixed in with your stone and stuff to really give it some contrast next you’re also going to need a material for your roof and right here is again some really nice combinations of blocks for your roofs and then we get to the end here with some slightly more advanced ones Using the copper and new blocks like that but here we are again guys more roof combination colors right there right here we have some wood combinations and then some stone combinations so you know build some walls out of stone put some wood in there for details pick A color or a combination and then you get your roof color ready and now you’re ready to actually start implementing them into your build and the first thing to go up is always the walls guys and here is a big big tip and a huge mistake that people make please make your walls Indented by one to give it some depth as opposed to doing this was just completely flat now again guys there’s always exceptions i’ve built plenty of houses that have this flat you just need to do tons of detailing and more depth on the outside but if you’re looking for Simple more complicated looking house this is a really good trick just push push the walls in by one block it definitely makes the house look a lot better so using the same layout that we had before with the l and the tower i put up the walls and i usually like to Go up four blocks about but there we go we have the base layer of the house complete with the walls indented by one like i was saying and we have the tower there as well that will be done next but here we go you see i used my combination Of stone types right here with some calcite and some diorite and then i chose to go with some dark oak logs on the ends and i think this combination looks pretty nice moving on to the tower i decided to go for a different type of block now i used These three combinations shown before and i did somewhat of a gradient now gradients guys are a great way to add detail or depth to your build it just adds a little bit more of something into the walls and it looks so interesting going from the moss to the mossy Cobblestone into the stone bricks guys so there we go we have the base of the tower outlined so now you’ve built up your walls with your block pallet and you have your tower ready if you are using one and now it’s time to get the roof shaped down now here’s three of my Favorite roof shapes on the left is the classic a-frame normal roof right there and in the middle is a more advanced style of the normal triangle stair trick and what you do here is basically you’re putting a block on top of the upside down stair and then another stair and This one is my go-to i always use this one it’s so good looking and i love it but this one over here is more of a rounded shape and what you do with this is just got some stairs and then you’re just using slabs and full blocks to just Kind of create a little bit of an arc kind of like a barn shape but here is three very simple roof designs if you need more roof designs and ideas for your roof please go check out my roof builders academy it should help you a lot if you’re having trouble with your roof So for our sample house i chose to go for my favorite the classic right here and i love to do this so i put it on this side and i put it on this side of the house and basically what i want to tell you guys to make sure you do with Your roofs is make sure they are sticking out one from the side here and one out so you wouldn’t want them to have to be in line with this right here or in line with your wall and you wouldn’t want them to just end right Here you want to make sure it sticks out by one just to give it a little bit of extra depth right there and you can also do more fun things with the top if you want to put you know a wall and a fence or something you can do different things And play around with it but make sure you get your outline in first that is the first step and with the outline and you can go ahead and fill in your other walls to make sure it all looks normal and then pick your roof color and what i decided To go for was black stone and later i’ll mix in some black stone bricks but i went for some black stone up here and i left the very top level empty to do some detailing afterwards and i extended the tower up just a little bit so once you Have that in pick your block and don’t be afraid to put your full block on these stairs and basically you use these things that you just built the outline as your guide so we’re gonna put a block there there there there and there and then we can just go straight all the way To the edge and then connect it with this side doing the same thing and from the front see blocks sticking out from this stair don’t be afraid to use full blocks all the way up it doesn’t have to be made out of stairs that is a big Thing don’t be afraid to use full blocks in your roof so now it’s time to add some detailing tricks and right here is one that i love to do for my entrances you can make a circle looking thing out of stairs and trap doors and it looks Just like this this is how you build it very simply and then i just pop it in here put some spruce behind it and a door and it looks really really nice i love the way this works so well in the house and then another thing is put some Trapdoors around the base of your pillars it helps add a little bit of depth at the very bottom of the pillar makes it look a little bit thicker and very cool next guys i went through and detailed the whole thing so what i did was put in A little window and some stairs right here you could even put a potted plant or something there make sure you get your lanterns in guys you always need to have some lanterns i put a little bit of some wood things around this tower base just to make it a little thicker at the Bottom and always some potted flowers i love that behind some trapdoors and then you see we ended up with an odd number here because of the top or an even number here because of the tower which is very unfortunate but i worked around it and just put a two wide window with Some trapdoors i think that looks pretty good and finally for the detailing i put some of this up here now i used walls and iron bars along with fence gates to create a kind of a trim around the very top and i also you can see added in the Black stone bricks so the roof is totally done the detailing is done guys and now we just need to add the very tip to the tower and there it is the tower is complete you see i popped in a window here and i put on the tower of roof and If you need help with your tower roofs i just released a tower video a couple weeks ago guys so that will help you so much if you need help with your towers i teach you how to build the roofs and everything so check out that builders academy if you need help with your Towers and guys you see i changed this part of the house up a little bit just give it a little something a little bit simpler up there but guys the detailing is now complete as for the interior of houses guys there is a few tips that i can give you which Is one make a simple floor you don’t have to do any checkered patterns you don’t have to do anything crazy with your floor now you can if you want but simple floors usually are better and the next thing guys is to break it up maybe When you come in here this is where you want your staircase to the next floor to be so give it a little bit of a sec separate room divide it with bookshelves or something over here you see i just put a wall here to divide up this a door Into a different room maybe this is your kitchen and then over here you can open this up to another room with your furnaces or something maybe you have your storage on this wall right here and you want to separate it so you can divide that off too guys the best thing To do is to break up the house into multiple areas to divide it up and then add in near detail and there’s tons of interior detailing tricks you can find online and tons of tips that you can get i will personally be doing a builders academy on interiors very very soon guys Don’t you worry you guys have been asking for it it’s coming soon so hopefully you guys
