Hi I’m Errol 3 and in this video I’m gonna be teaching you how to spruce up a jungle biome using Yakko and vivere a giant tree with a small village underneath its canopy I’ll be talking you through how to go about a project like this in survival or creative mode I’m walking you through the steps you’ll need to build every single part so I’m going to be breaking the video down into different sections preparation and terraforming structures and decorations the giant tree details and furnishings as always I’ll be leaving the time stamps of the different parts of the Video in the description so you can jump ahead or behind as you desire so sit back like and subscribe if you enjoy and tell me in the comments down below what biome you want to see me building in next and with that all out the way let’s jump into the build We’ll start by preparing the land and creating a clearing that we can base the rest of our work off of will be clearing the tree’s leaves and the grounds next up start making natural looking curves in the landscape out of grass and dirt blocks and generate a landscape from the Terrain how you want and connect them into the rest of the terrain using smooth arches next up we’re going to try and make our terrain look a little bit more exciting and here you can see I’ve chosen this elevated patch of land to start making a cliff face off with an Overhang and you can make an overhang quite easily by taking an outline of the shape that you want to be making an overhang out of and dropping jagged shapes downwards and this creates a feel that it’s gonna be overhanging when you stagger it back just a little bit and You can see here I’ve continued that overhang effect all the way around the elevated sections and also added a pool to the top and the bottom of that section which will become a Warfel later on Next you can start giving a little bit detail to the surroundings and you can do that by adding in boulders and outcrops of hills like this next up let’s talk about planning in my last video I explained how you could use concrete or another material to plan out The streets or the houses of your build which gives you a good base to work off of later especially if your build is massive here I’m organizing the planning a little bit differently the streets are made out of various paths materials little sky ways are made out of blue Concrete red concrete is a house and green a farm jumping right into the houses we can already see the style that we’re going to be building so I’ll bring up three examples of the perfect helps that you should be aiming for now in each of these examples I’m using random shapes And making a house out of them for example in the top left here we have various rectangles which connect to a circular Tower and in the bottom you can see a similar but less chaotic Design Thinking place as well let’s also talk about materials here we’re making the base of the houses out Of jungle planks and everything above that is stripped jungle logs I’m finishing that off with various types of wooden slabs the roofs completes that jungle aesthetic it’s also totally valid to use jungle logs that aren’t stripped as I’ve done in an example here but I’ll leave that entirely up to you Logs are also going to be really really useful for making perimeters of your farms where you can surround them in the logs have farmland in the middle and then plant various crops on top of it and we’re gonna actually repeat that design a couple of times in this build Again just to complete that jungle aesthetic now let’s have a look at these rope bridges where I previously had the concrete I actually want to be replacing that with a more dipped design as though as being affected by gravity and to do that I’m going to be using a ton of Wooden stairs and slabs a good trick to remember here is that should be steeper at the two sides and flatter in the Middle where it levels out alone next up at fence two your choice to act like root to keep the bridge in the air and optionally add logs underneath it to act Like waves and light them up from underneath And finally you can use wooden and stone slabs of your choice to act like handrails so now we can move on to our mega tree of did I mean our giant tree and in particular we’re going to be looking at the planning we’re going to be breaking the trunk down into a couple Of parts firstly the struts which are going to be 1×1 pieces of jungle wood which extend up and give the shape of the build next are rings which connect struts on the same level and give a basis that we can build the arches from Which is how we fill in the rest of it making it look nice and natural like arches from here keep extending that style up using the struts the Rings and the arches as high as you want the first and the main branch to go and that can Be as tall or as small as you want but remember the wider you end up making the footprint of this tree the more leaves you’re going to have to use to fill in the Hana pit so do consider that when you’re building next up step back and Have a look at what you’ve built so far and make any Corrections you want to make while it’s still fresh you can see here I’ve flattened out the top of this bit and added in my rings early which helped me to visualize a little bit better where this trunk was gonna go and Again keep following that struts rings and arches approach to building these mega trees as that’s the easiest way to do it and both survival mode and in creative mode has it helped you keep good track of what you’re building if you have to do it over multiple sessions Like I do after all there’s no one who wants to sit down and spend more than 24 hours at a time building the same project After you finished that first branch you can start thinking about making secondary and tertiary branches and again the same building concepts apply here use struts to plan the direction rings to plan the shape and then arches to fill it in and you can make as many Or as little branches as you feel fits the style Now we’re gonna be splitting these larger trunks into smaller branches and twigs they extend off from the main and here we’re just gonna be fooling nice curves we’re not gonna be going any higher with these branches but we are gonna be carving them round and splitting them off in various different Directions some more ironically it should look a little bit like a biohazard warning with curves overlapping as you get further out next up we’re gonna be having a look at leaves and we’re gonna be using those same twigs and branches that we just built to base them off of the end style Would like to go for is quite a flat canopy so we’re gonna make sure that the leaf base is quite white that we can build off of it now the best way I found to do this was to build a big perimeter where you want the leaf to be and then Fill it in as you go and to also outline the branches with that same kind of leaves and then fill in the gap I also found that making a grid like structure and then filling in that grid was really really time efficient and efficiency is super important especially if you’re Doing this in survival mode or without worldedit once you’re happy with the overall look of your tree go underneath the canopy and start hanging vines from the branches now you can hang the vine straight down or in loops like I’ve done here either one works so again this is Entirely left up to you but I found that the extra decoration was really helpful especially for selling that aesthetic of an ancient tree looming over the land You The outside detailing is and decoration for the jungle world are actually going to be quite similar to the desert build so if you haven’t already seen my video on that go and check out for some extra detail but the concepts gonna be the same here we’ve started out by buffing Up the pavement with natural materials like gravel cobblestone and pods all as well as decoratin outsides the path with elevated torches to give it a little bit of light speaking of light if you’re playing with shaders you might find that the shadow that the tree casts in Vanilla is different from the one the shaders cast so disable the shaders for just a second when you are making it your lighting as you really don’t want mobs to be spawning in survival order next up we’re gonna be having a look at that tree again and we’re actually gonna Be decorating the inside of it with an extension of the village and the best way to do that iPhone was to make a winding tunnel up through the main trunk of the tree or you can hide various different rooms that do different things While we’re still talking about the tree we’re also gonna be talk about what you can do on and not just end the tree here I’m making some platforms around the top levels of the tree and they’re gonna be using very wooden materials like slabs fences and trap doors to give a very Jungle and natural feel we’re also gonna be making a few of those hanging bridges from earlier hung along the underside of the highest branches so if you missed that section you can skip back and follow along is it’s gonna help us a lot here An important thing to note here is that we don’t actually want to be changing how the tree looks from the outside we only want to be adding to it with these decorations so remember adding not changing what we have already has found the inside is a different story however As you can see we’ve added in and completed this tunnel which is now winding its way up the primary branch of the tree and into the very top just like the outside decorations of this stage the internal furniture is going to be very much the same as the desert build We can use a couple of fancy techniques here like using extinguished campfires on the top of a four-poster bed and as always we’re going to be using a lot of spruce trapdoors as vertical path slabs Also keep in mind that you definitely want to be using warm materials here as well after all woods give a very natural feel to your build especially relevant in jungle settings you might also feel like you want to break up the colors of things in which case add some colorful Banners outside of shots or up high on important landmarks where the eyes gonna catch them if you’re in 1.14 and above another cool trick that you can use for detailing is the back of looms look like empty bookshelves which is super useful if you’re making an enchanting station like this And with that our build is finally done so let’s step back a little bit and take a look at what we’ve created [Applause] [Laughter] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] You thanks for watching if you enjoyed the video found it helpful remember to leave a like and
