How To Find The Stronghold! ▫ Minecraft Survival Guide (1.18 Tutorial Let’s Play) [S2 E47]

Hello everyone my name is pixariffs and welcome back to the minecraft survival guide i hope you’re all having a good day and up there on the ridge our storage room is coming together in fact from over here none of the chests render in so you can see the magnitude of

Hoppers and barrels and not a whole lot else so i’ve been doing a little bit more work over here we’ve got our auto smelter set up in there now we’ve got a decent amount of chests and stuff going in still need to grab a lot more wood

For that but i figured today we could step away from that and work on some other stuff today in fact we’re going to work on beginning the final objective of minecraft and it’s not the final objective in this world oh no we have a lot of stuff we can do after that but

What is considered the final boss of minecraft awaits us in a dimension called the end so we’re not going to go and fight the ender dragon today but we are going to go and search out the stronghold where we will find the portal to the end after which we can start to

Make some preparations for the fight with the ender dragon we’ll do a couple of other things this week but i think at the end of this week we’re going to go and fight the dragon for episode 50 of the series the first thing that’s going

To require us to do though is go on a little bit of a trip and it is for this that we turn to our ender chest because i have stashed a couple of resources in here that we are going to need for this journey first of all we have some ender

Pearls in here and i haven’t just gotten these from killing endermen while it is entirely possible to have encountered enough enderman that we gathered that many ender pearls instead i’ve been returning to our savannah village and talking to the cleric because the cleric will trade us ender pearls after his

Zombification prices for one emerald per ender pearl and that way we can buy them 12 at a time and that means 24 if he restocks his trades again ender pearls are a really interesting topic in and of themselves because if we have an ender pearl in our offhand or main hand and we

Right click we actually throw the ender pearl a fair distance and we end up warping to where the end of pearl lands on the other side of the village or potentially even further the distance you can travel with an ender pearl is dependent entirely on how hard or how

High the player can throw so ideally you want to take an angle of about i don’t know 35 degrees kind of in that direction and will we make it across the river no we won’t so another important thing to recognize is that wherever the

End of pearl lands it has to hit a solid block and that solid block can be underwater it can be in a pool of lava it could be in a very very dangerous situation so you need to either take note of where your ender pearl is going

To land before you throw it or be very very lucky or well prepared for when you land anyway if you’re in need of some more ender pearls to supplement the supply you get from clerics or maybe you’re not interested in trading with clerics at all one of the places you can

Come to is the warped forest where typically enderman will spawn provided the light level is low enough and this is something that is new to minecraft 1.18 really since the advent of mobs having to spawn in complete darkness enderman will be less populous here in the warped forests because there are

Simply too many light sources around in the form of the shroom lights that we find in the branches of these warped trees that is why i most often find enderman when i’m walking through this tunnel over here because the trees all generate so high up into the netherrack

That there aren’t really any light sources around here and there’s usually a couple of endermen hanging out around the base of some of these trees around here and it looks like one of them just warped away somewhere so i might be able to find him if i dig around a little bit

Yep there he is of course endermen are pretty fierce combatants they can hit pretty hard and even though i’m wearing netherite and diamond armor right now that guy’s dealing a little bit of damage to me so i need to be a little bit careful block with my shield when he

Swings and attack him shortly afterwards in order to make sure that we can take him down we got one end a pearl from him but with looting we can potentially get one or two extras so it’s kind of nice to know that you can harvest ender pearls from endermen and of course we

Could always dig into the walls around here so that we can create ourselves a little safe too high tunnel where the endermen cannot reach us another option if you are flush with gold is to visit your friendly neighborhood pig people because piglens actually have ender pearls as one of the things they can

Trade you while bartering so if you fling a couple of gold ingots in a piglen’s direction they will occasionally return you some ender pearls although the chances of that are relatively slim because piglins barter a whole bunch of items i think there are at least 20 different items they can

Give you or something around that range like it’s a pretty high number and as a result you will find yourself getting ender pearls very infrequently not always the best way of doing it however if you end up with a bunch of gold blocks from one of their bastions and

You feel like trading all of that gold to the piglens then occasionally you can come away with a decent handful of ender pearls enough to get us where we’re going today one other location that you might want to turn to for end of pearl farming if you don’t really feel like

Going to a warp forest you don’t like the nether you haven’t found a warp forest and you don’t really feel like tangling with villages either is your local deserts and if you can find a desert even though i had a little bit of trouble finding one you may have

A little bit of an easier time finding one and this is not necessarily because endermen are more likely to spawn in deserts than any other biome they are not deserts will spawn husk variants of zombies that don’t burn in the sunlight but that’s really the only unique thing

About mob spawning here endermen will spawn here just as frequently or infrequently as they do in any other biome but the desert really has two advantages that make it one of the primary locations for enderman farming the first being that it’s nice and open so there aren’t any trees or anything to

Get in the way we wouldn’t have any clue if an enderman spawned in the jungle over there whereas this one who spawned down here we can spot from quite a distance this also makes it a lot easier to aggro the enemy by looking at him

Which i should need to get a little bit closer to do the aggro range is not simply how far away we can see them but yep looks like we’ve angered him at this point the other reason is just that they stand out against the sand and because

The endermen are so dark they can camouflage themselves in a variety of other spaces the desert though largely being made out of sand and sandstone has a little bit of an advantage against those darker shapes the terrain is so bright that you’ll be able to see enderman at quite a distance

So with our ender pearls in hand we have one other ingredient we need to seek out and it’s not this hoglin although this hogland is probably going to have to get out of the way for us to do what we want to do here nope even though my shield

Has taken a bit of a beating we’re going to stand by this blaze spawner and we’re going to try and spawn some blazes there may even be a couple of blazes around i hear some breathing coming from somewhere and i’m pretty sure it wasn’t this spawner yep there’s one that’s actually managed

To sneak out of the nether fortress somehow let’s see if we can take him out without getting too badly burned because the other thing we will need for this is blaze powder blaze powder if you remember can only be acquired by fighting blazes having them drop blaze

Rods and then crafting these down into powder but thankfully with those blazes we’ve managed to get a whole bunch of blaze rods thanks to the fact that looting on our sword gives them the chance to drop more than one so between these two items we’re going to craft

Something that is pretty familiar to anybody who has made an ender chest so far we’re going to craft eyes of ender and we’re not going to use them to make an ender chest at this point actually i might make a backup because i haven’t

Got one on me right now but we are going to use these for something completely different we’re going to need a few more eyes of ender so thankfully i’ve got enough ender pearls left over in the chest here we’re going to craft a few more let’s go with 18 probably about 16

Will do and it’s kind of weird that ender pearls stick to 16 but eyes of ender can stack up to 64. we’ll explain the reasons for that a little bit later but in the meantime we’re not going to make an ender chest instead we’re going

To stand wherever we feel like in a nice wide open space where we can see all around us we’re going to hold this in our hand and we’re going to right click and that should throw it in a specific direction and the eye vendor drops and we can pick it up and continue

Our journey so following the eye of ender if we take a look at the minecraft advancements here is how you get to the stronghold and following an eye of ender to the stronghold is what leads to the end portal where we can step through into the final dimension of minecraft

And face the ender dragon which i remind you we’re not gonna do in this episode we’re gonna do that later but we’re going to locate the stronghold so that we can make a nether portal there and that way we’ll be able to return here make sure we’re geared up for the end of

Dragon fight and return to the stronghold nice and easily with everything we will need so naturally we’ll need to bring enough obsidian with us for a nether portal i’m going to make myself another ender chest because i honestly can’t do without them these days and we’re probably going to stash

Anything we don’t need here just in case the worst should happen we’ll bring a boat with us we’ll bring a bed and we’ll bring a flint and steel so that we can light the portal once we make it i’m also going to bring my spy glass because

I typically travel all over the place with that now and which direction were we going i think it was this way across the farmland and out into the distance now presuming you’ve started at spawn and presuming that your spawn point is approximately zero zero or as close to

The center of the world as it can reasonably be when it spawned you you’ll probably be fine running about a thousand blocks before you throw your next eye of ender because the way java edition generates strongholds is in a series of rings expanding outwards from the center and around the first ring

Around the ring that is effectively closest to the center of the world there are three strongholds each of these strongholds is a structure buried underground somewhere between about 1200 to 2800 blocks away from zero zero the stronghold does not always generate out exactly the same coordinates in every

World of course it depends quite heavily on your world seed and it’s also worth noting that stronghold generation works a little bit differently in bedrock edition because java edition has a limited number of strongholds there’s actually a really fantastic graphic in the minecraft wiki which shows how far

You would need to travel to each of the rings which contain the strongholds and how many strongholds you could expect to find at those sets of coordinates so as you can see as you get further out the rings expand meaning there is a wider area but overall the number of

Strongholds on that ring increases so the strongholds are usually going to be about three or four thousand blocks apart just spaced out around these enormous rings of coordinates on java edition there are 128 strongholds in the world on bedrock edition however the strongholds don’t really have any kind

Of upper limit except in as much as the world has an upper limit so you will continue to find strongholds generating out infinitely in bedrock edition up until you reach the world border 30 million blocks away on java edition once you get outside of about a 24 000 block

Radius though you won’t find any more strongholds generating out that way and that ring even has the fewest strongholds outside of the first two rings here we are right now we’re at 12 20 on the x-axis which seems to be the one along which we are traveling the

East-west axis i’m standing on a tree here in this forest and i’m going to throw my next eye of ender to confirm that we are still traveling in the right direction which it looks like we are and our eyes of ender are still dropping which is good because there is a chance

When you throw an eye of ender i think it’s about a one in five chance of the eye to be destroyed it will shatter it won’t drop as another item and you won’t be able to throw it again which is why we made a whole bunch of these before we

Left because more often than not if it breaks along the way you’re gonna need another one you may also have heard that there is a correlation between strongholds and village wells i’m not entirely certain how strong that correlation is on bedrock edition but on java edition i’m fairly certain that is

Not a thing that’s just one of those odd rumors that occasionally turns out to be true but we can travel out another four or five hundred blocks and wow it’s really cool looking at some of the terrain that we haven’t actually encountered before how cool would it be

If the stronghold was down there but we can travel out like i said another four or five hundred blocks before we throw another pearl because we’re really only part way to the outer edge of the ring where we can expect these strongholds to be generating so oh azalea there’s a

Lush cave down there that’s even cooler but usually it’s going to be in your best interests to stand in a nice clear area like this like this island that i found in the middle of the river or alternatively on the tops of some trees that way when you throw the eye of ender

It’s not going to get lost in the distance and that’s actually curving in an interesting way now it’s actually starting to direct us more specifically towards the stronghold instead of just saying head east so maybe we’ll get to the top of that ridge of dark oak trees

Over there and we’ll try throwing our eye of ender again looking at how steep this is i’m actually kind of regretting not taking some more ender pearls with me so luckily we have some in our ender chest and i can try ender pearling up to the top of this hill never really been

All that good with ender pearls myself but here we go here and we can make it to the side of that mushroom ah well luckily we managed to cling to the side of this block we’re actually like halfway into the block right now but occasionally you may need to uh yeah

Break your way out of that occasionally ender pearls may cause you to clip into the side of a block at which point it’s usually lucky if you don’t take suffocation damage so we definitely got lucky here anyway up to the top of this forest canopy we can look back down at

The island and the forest fire that we have inadvertently caused by standing too close to a lava lake let’s take our eyes of ender and let’s throw the eye again and this time it corrects a little bit further back to the east and it explodes okay so that is what happens

When you lose an eye of ender the thing shatters and there’s a one in five chance i think of that happening but the fact that it was correcting back towards the east gives me hope that it isn’t just in the middle of this jungle biome somewhere so while we’re standing on the

Tops of these trees let’s try throwing another one yep nope that is definitely going back in the easterly direction having collected that eye vendor i think we’re going to boat down at this river just a little way and see if there’s a sensible place for us to throw our next

Eye our coordinates are up around the 2200s right now which is still 600 blocks from the outside of the ring but i’m expecting our stronghold to be back in this direction yes there we go okay so it looks like we are headed back to the west and we might be able to

Triangulate the position of the stronghold from here let’s quickly dive down and get that eye of ender though because these things are a little precious we’ll boat down the river a little way and we’ll try throwing another eye i usually end up going into third person to throw these because it’s

Easier to see when the eye leaves you which direction it’s traveling especially if it ends up going behind you so we’re continuing down here i actually wouldn’t be surprised if it’s underneath this little section of land right here what we are looking for is for the eye to instead of flying into

The air sink into the ground or in this case potentially into the water but it looks like yet we’re still going in that direction maybe from the top of that bamboo stalk over there that might be where we’re looking for let’s chop a couple of pieces off of this one and

Quickly hop to it there we go managed to crouch on the edge of that let’s throw our eye of ender from here and it looks like it’s still headed in that direction so i don’t know maybe under the river these are breaking more frequently now

Which is not a sign that we’re close to the stronghold or anything it’s just bad luck on my part it’s looking like it’s out in the river and yeah wow we are breaking so many eyes of enter at this point i am i am literally cursed every

Single eye that i’ve thrown has broken but it looks like it was pointed back towards this chunk right here where these melons and the jungle tree and the cocoa beans and stuff are let’s try throwing from here and it looks like it’s headed back up into the trees well

It’s pointed me back in the direction of these dark oak trees and so from up here we should hopefully be able to see the eye yes sinking downwards instead of traveling upwards so that means yep the eye just fell which means we can collect it again although i’m not entirely

Certain where it ended up just now but it did seem to be going down through the floor in this direction so you know what i think we’re gonna start staircasing down from over here because this is definitely going to be a structure almost entirely underground and so i’m

Hoping if we dig in this direction a little way and then start heading more downwards we should hopefully be able to find it i think we’ve dug to more or less where that eye vendor was going and now we need to figure out how low down in the

World it is so i’m gonna try a slightly safer way of digging directly downwards it does look like our biome right now is a lush cave by the way so i’m excited to find where this stronghold has actually generated but once we get down to this

Area here i’m gonna stand on the join between these two blocks where we can dig out one side and then dig out the other side safely without falling if we uncover a hole below us and it looks like we do have a lush cave biome right

Here so yes we can hop out of here oh there’s a geode right there interesting but i’m not seeing any immediate signs of a stronghold we are going to mark our way back up though so that we can make sure that we can come back up here if

For whatever reason we are slightly off the mark so what we’re looking for as we search around these caves for the stronghold is any sign of stone brick mossy stone brick or cracked stone brick variants are also present in the structure of a stronghold and for the

Most part they will be buried almost entirely in the stone around us but there may be occasional peaks of the structure popping out from the walls here and there so while we don’t know the exact coordinates of the stronghold it’s going to be worth looking around

For other things that might lead to it frankly i’m a little bit interested in seeing what’s inside of this geode too it sounds like there’s a zombie in there somewhere but it’s always nice to bust into a geode when we have the opportunity so let’s hop in here and

Look at this for an environment let me whoa okay didn’t realize there was a creeper in here back up a second there we go got those two taken care of and yes the thing i’m really excited about is this little scene over here because we got a geode that has a little

Bit of lush cave growing inside of it that is adorable and gorgeous i love it i love it i love it from a quick look around here i’m not really seeing any sign of stone bricks that would indicate where the stronghold is so we might have to continue digging on down because the

Stronghold can generate anywhere between here and bedrock at negative 64 the lowest point in the world so chances are we might have to dig down a little deeper before we find our stronghold we might even be slightly off the mark in terms of our coordinates and throwing

Another ender pearl in here might be a neat way of seeing which direction we should be going but i’m going to trust my instincts and think that i can probably still dig on down through here and maybe we’ll encounter a stronghold at the bottom of this hole at this point

I’m going to switch to my fortune pickaxe because we’re heading into the deep slate layers and i don’t want to come away with a bunch of regular deep slate right now it looks like we’re stumbling out into a cave so we’ll definitely be able to spot any stone brick that

Generates around here still a little bit of clay intruding from the lush cave though so we can use that as a signpost and once again i’m gonna make sure that i have a couple of torches leading upwards so i know how i got down here and right there behind this skeleton we

See the first signs of the structure we are looking for welcome ladies and gentlemen and others to the stronghold we have a whole bunch of corridors composed of stone brick and mossy stone brick we get the i spy advancement for following our eye of ender and we have

Made it to the stronghold now the main thing we are looking for here is a room with a portal in it and a little bit of lava will be bubbling either side of the portal so there is usually an indication if you listen out for sound effects

About where that portal room is going to be but by exploring the corridors around here and opening up these doors as we go we might end up finding what we’re looking for and along the way we’re going to find a few other noteworthy things which i’ll try and call out as i

Find them as you can see though this stronghold has generated in a cave so it’s a little bit broken up by the generation of the cave nothing to worry about yet we should still have a portal room in here somewhere and i can definitely hear yes there we go that is

The portal room at the bottom of this spiral staircase now the first thing we’re going to notice is right here we have a silverfish spawner there’s also a little bit of diamond deep slate or just kind of peeking in from the windows around the outside of here now

Silverfish are interesting mobs they are little bug type creatures that only exist in spawners at the stronghold or infesting stone and stone brick in different parts of the world the stronghold is one of the places you can find that the other place you’ll find that is in mountain biomes if you’ve

Done any mining and mountains and wondered why these bugs start coming out of the rock whenever you break certain blocks that is because that is silverfish stone and silverfish don’t seem beholden to the same mob spawning rules as other mobs even though we’ve lit up the spawner right here and the

Entire room around us is lit up by torches and lava the silverfish will still spawn from this spawner we’re not going to break the spawner right now even though i would prefer to because i find silverfish kind of gross and they don’t really drop anything useful because maybe we’ll do something with

That a little bit later beyond the spawner of course is the thing we are really here for as you can see this frame around this lake of lava in the center here is made out of things that resemble the eyes of ender that brought us to the stronghold and we actually

Have some sockets in each of these frame blocks into which our eyes of ender can be placed unfortunately there are eight sockets left and i only have seven eyes of ender and we could make more but that will activate the portal and that will allow us to go through to the end

Dimension we’re not going to be doing that today so i’m going to simply explore the rest of the stronghold for now we’ll set up a portal here so that we can return to this location later and we’ll be able to come back and fight the

Ender dragon at the end of the week for now let’s just take the coordinates of the portal here so we know where we’re going to get back to later and i should also mention one more thing about fighting silverfish when you hit a silverfish if you don’t kill it in one

Hit you stand the chance of awakening silverfish from other blocks around you and in fact it looks like a couple of those silverfish stone blocks ended up being around the frame of the portal here so i’ll probably fill those in with some regular stones so that the lava

Doesn’t leak everywhere but there are infested stone blocks all around us here in the stronghold and you can’t really tell the difference between them and the regular stone blocks in fact silverfish can make infested stone by burrowing into it if they don’t see any threats around that they want to attack and so

There is a chance that more silverfish stone will generate as you stand too close to the spawner the only real way of telling silverfish stone apart from any other kind of stone is by looking at it with the debug screen on and even though it says cracked mossy stone

Bricks all the way around here every so often you will find that one of them says infested cracked stone bricks or mossy stone bricks or whatever there we go we got one there that right there if we break it we’ll generate a silverfish and the silverfish in

Question ended up falling into the cave below so it’s nice and easy to take care of but in cave environments like this that might be a bit more of a concern because the silverfish could create a hole underneath you that would cause you to fall into a much larger drop so

Despite the silverfish not being much of a problem we might have other problems on our hands if that happens as we explore the remainder of the stronghold though wow okay we have two library rooms basically opposite each other and these are one of the cool places that you can

Find loot in the stronghold because these will generate with a great deal of bookshelves in them a bunch of cobwebs which we could share if we brought any shears with us on top of one of the bookshelves down here we will find a loot chest which in this case contains a

Couple of enchanted books and some good ones too we’ve got looting 2 and fortune 2. that’s a bit of a choice there and a bunch of books and paper as well not to mention all of the bookshelf blocks around us which we could take down and

Use if we wanted to going up this ladder and yes over here in the far corner we should find another loot chest filled with books and paper and a couple of other bits and pieces some empty maps that kind of thing as with the woodland mansions though it’s really cool to

Stumble on this amount of bookshelves in such a small space we can take these down we can break them up for books to trade with villagers or enchant ourselves or even use the blocks themselves for decoration if we want to and as we continue to explore the

Stronghold we are looking for two other types of rooms that might contain loot one of which will just be a regular stronghold corridor but it should have a chest in it basically in like yes one of these like a a little kind of altar to

One side i’m gonna use the stone to try and repair the floor a little bit mostly so we don’t get ambushed from below by skeletons shooting arrows at us but it all seems relatively quiet around here right now these loot chests will often contain little bits and pieces of gold

Occasional ender pearls iron gear a couple of bits and pieces like that most of the loot here isn’t all that valuable however there is a chance for a specific music disc to generate inside of these loot chests and so we’re going to be looking for that as we wander around

Here we haven’t really covered music discs a whole lot but you’ve probably got a couple of them from raiding dungeons here and there and music discs can be played in a jukebox to play in-game music if you want to three of those can be found in dungeon loot

Chests and one of them is also found here in the stronghold and it should have a slightly higher likelihood of being found here in the stronghold although there are very few stronghold chests so when i’ve tried to find it in the in development versions of this update it’s proven quite difficult to

Find but if we hadn’t looked into finding the portal room so soon this is honestly what we would be searching the remainder of the stronghold for we need to find that portal room so that we can make any more progress towards a fighting the ender dragon and so that’s

Typically what you’ll be looking for as you patrol the corridors of the stronghold also somewhat noteworthy is these jail cells that generate alongside some corridors they’ve got iron bars around them and iron doors and there’s no guarantee that mobs would actually spawn in here but thankfully it was dark

Enough at one point that a zombie happened to spawn in that location so we got a zombie who’s apparently been locked up for uh trying to do the gardening a lot of these stronghold corridors will just lead to dead ends though where the natural generation of

The world has taken over and we just find a wall of deep slate occasionally you can break through those to find hidden rooms and areas where the stronghold generation didn’t quite line up with the neighboring corridors so you can explore like that if you want to especially if you haven’t been able to

Find the portal room we have another chest over here let’s take a look inside of there oh a golden apple hey that’s not too bad actually for stronghold loot that is genuinely pretty good as you explore the stronghold it’s usually a good idea to mark the directions you’ve

Been and i’m doing that using my usual torches on the left trick to make sure i know where i’m going but you might also want to start blocking off areas that you’ve been already and that you know that doesn’t lead to anything interesting using say cobblestone or in

This case i’m going to use natural stone if i know that the majority of these corridors don’t lead anywhere i’m going to be happy enough blocking those off and making sure that i don’t get fooled by them when i come back in this direction you’ll occasionally find fountain rooms like this spawning in

Strongholds and down here is one of the last things that i was looking for in terms of potential for loot here in the stronghold let’s hop up this ladder and be ready to defend ourselves because there’s occasionally a dark enough area up here that mobs will spawn there is

One chest here which occasionally contains a little bit of redstone sometimes a bit of gold they have a different loot table to the corridor chests in strongholds so you might get something interesting from here although right now this just had three pieces of coal in it so it’s not exactly the best

Example i’m just going to drop off some of this other stuff here in my ender chest so i can feel a little bit better about the state of my inventory we’ll keep all of the doors and stuff even though we don’t really need those and let’s cast our eyes around the remainder

Of this stronghold to see if there are any more loot chests lurking in the corridors oh here’s one we’ve got one right here oh and that’s got two diamonds in okay not too bad two iron chest plates as well which are i don’t know a little bit out of fashion at this

Point but it’s not too bad i guess one of the other ways in which it’s easy to tell where you’ve been is that the stronghold corridors will often be punctuated by doors and you can choose to open the iron doors if you want to using the buttons that are freely

Available on the walls however it’s usually my mo to just tear the doors down because we want to be able to travel back through and anywhere that’s got a doorway without an iron door in it it’s pretty obvious that we’ve been there already however another useful trick to know is that minecraft

Generates doors on one side of a block and if you notice that the door is flush with the wall that’s a door that leads away from the entrance to the stronghold whereas around the other side if you notice the door is inset in the wall then that usually leads back in the

Direction that you came so there are a couple of tricks you can use to navigate these places which is kind of useful because they are a little bit labyrinthine and winding you might even notice that the stronghold walls have torches that generate in rooms you haven’t been in yet and that’s just a

Fact of the stronghold’s generation it’s not something you need to worry too much about in fact it’s even going to keep the mob spawns down while you’re walking around in here at least this chest had an ender pearl though that’s exciting we might as well take the bread as well we

Can jump on that as we explore here and i’m gonna leave the iron leggings but still no music disc unfortunately that entire area can get blocked off and that’s i think the last area we needed to explore in this part of the stronghold so we can block off this area

As well we’ve even got a glow squid swimming in the fountain down here that’s kind of adorable oh this this is an artifact this is a floating piece of vine i’m not gonna place any blocks anywhere near that because as soon as we update the block if we put a

Block right there then that vine would disappear but as of right now it is it is quite the artifact if i crouch if i sneak and i get to about here you can barely tell that that vine exists it’s it’s completely 2d ah the little things honestly once you’ve played

Enough minecraft it’s kind of fun celebrating all of the little quirks of world generation that happen especially when it’s stuff like this the fact that this stronghold has been so broken up by the cave is really quite fascinating to me and it just keeps going on i keep finding doors that lead further

And further away and to be honest none of them actually lead to anything but the fact is they are still generating up here but i’ve just come full circle back to the fountain room which leads to the portal room and i’m probably gonna break

Out this wall and this oh i can give or take a silver fish or two might be where i set up my nether portal because honestly it’s kind of nicer than coming down the spiral staircase on that corner of the room and we can open this area

Out a little bit more if we want to plus it’s nice to set up a portal away from an area where we’re going to immediately spawn silverfish so you know what we’re going to set this room up as our base in here we’re gonna set up a nether portal

That means we can return to this area whenever we want to and because we’re in a lush cave there’s even a tropical fish up here in the fountain we might even make the nether portal right here by the fountain why not let’s make a three by three and let’s have the fountain framed

By the nether portal in the background we’re gonna light this with our flint and steel take the coordinates and step on through and we are on the edge the very edge wow of a crimson forest so i’d better step through the portal again right away because i didn’t bring my

Gold helmet with me at least if i wanted to i could throw down my ender chest to make a little bit of gold stuff and wear that through to the nether again but it looks like we’ve done everything we came here for we have a nether portal linking

Us to the stronghold and we can complete the end portal that will take us to the end later this week but folks for now i think that’s where we’re going to leave it for this episode of the minecraft survival guide have fun out there finding your own strongholds but for now
