The Minecraft marketplace is known as the place to get content on Bedrock Edition. That’s your phone tablets and consoles. And this is really nice because previous only on Java Edition you’d go to some sketchy website and download a map and you know, loaded onto your computer and viruses and bad things would happen. But the marketplace fixes all that because it’s all curated by Microsoft and Mojang, so that all the content is really good. But the downside is, is that that content costs money. Mine coins, to be exact. You got to turn your hard earned cash into mine coins, And then those mine coins can be turned into maps, skins, mash up packs and all the adventures that are had on the Minecraft marketplace. But that gives the Minecraft marketplace a bad rap because it’s not quite as free as it used to be. Over on the PC version of the game comes off as a little bit greedy when you could get something for free before and now you got to pay for it. Personally, I don’t really care. I feel like, you know, you’re paying to make sure you get the good stuff. But of course there are some people who just don’t have the budget to spend money on content for Minecraft. So how do you get free stuff from the Minecraft marketplace? I’m going to tell you how. First off, heading into the marketplace itself, one thing that is a little bit Frustrating is that there’s no obvious place to look for free stuff. You have some categories along the side, but those are like new releases, things on sale. Ooh, maybe there’s a free section. Well, no, there isn’t. So if you are looking for just straight up free stuff and want a list of everything That is free on the marketplace, here is how to do it first. Click on search. That should be the magnifying glass in the corner. Next, go to filter, which is right next to where you add in a search term and just sort by low to high and this will show you Everything that is currently on the Minecraft marketplace that is free. But this actually isn’t everything. I just lied to you just now. I literally just lied to you. That’s because there are a few hidden pieces of content that you should know about, and that happens seasonally. Like right now, if you go to the Minecraft marketplace at the top of the first like home screen is “Marketplaces five year celebration day 14.” And if you click that, you’ll also get a ton of free gifts. I haven’t opened up most of them. I open up like the first two days just to check it out myself. But let’s say we click on day three here. We can get this money hat by Jigarbov Productions for free. So you just click that and then bam! Now you have a little bit of extra, you know, to decorate your character in the character creator. This is all very money focused with money legs and money medallions. But also inside of here are maps like on day eight, you have the spell craft map and on day one, You have a marketplace creator tycoon map, which I’ve already claimed. And these are very temporary and there’s no getting them back, which is kind of frustrating because it’s hoping to have a big old list of places you could go to get things from, like, say, the winter sale that they had, you Know, was kind of like a Christmas type celebration, but like it doesn’t exist. There is no way to go back in time and get those things. I even tried, like, changing my computers, like, clock back in time to, like, see if I could get it. No can do. And unfortunately, when these events happen and you get all these free gifts, not very standard. Okay, so you just kind of have to keep an eye out on the marketplace for when one of these free events is happening. The good news is you can always go back and claim gifts That you haven’t received while it’s still going on. So tomorrow I’ll still be able I’m on day 13 now. I’ll be able to get everything from the previous days, but once this goes away, I won’t be able to get anything. So set your calendars if you see one of these to the last day to make sure you pick up everything that was released in the past before it goes away. Now back to that free list I mentioned earlier by going to search and then just filtering for, you know, the lowest Expensive thing, you know, low to high. There is a lot of content here, a ton of stuff. And I would suggest looking at the star ratings of each one of the types of content to see what type might be good. It tends to range from 4.1 to, you know, 4.9. So you can just ignore the four. And then that’s like basically rating either point 1 to point 2 up to like point 9. If you want some recommendations on some of my favorite things that are in the free section, let me show you some of the maps that I’ve played myself. Terra Swoop Force by Noxcrew was released when Elyrta came into the game and it is a fun minigame where you swoop through the world. I really like it. Doggie day care is a pretty simple map, but it is. You kind of creating your own daycare like a doggy daycare tycoon situation. I like it. Portal Pioneers was made by Nvidia to show off gaming with RTX. You know, the the Minecraft with RTX stuff. It looks really cool, but it does have a very good storyline and lots to do in the map. And I don’t think you need I think you can like run it without RTX on. Don’t quote me on that. Now, while I haven’t played this one spell craft, it is free right now. And normally when they give out these free games, they’re pretty good. So you only have six days left to get it for free. And that also goes for this. Marketplace creator, tycoon by Jigarbov. They are a great map maker and also six days left and this is just the funniest thing ever. Minecraft actual Minecraft released young GRU. It is a single skin of young GRU and I think this is because they have the whole minions thing which I actually own this map minions and I think people are upset that they don’t have young GRU in this skin files. Ss this young group that’s young GRU. Wait, what? I’m so confused. Anyway, that’s my favorite #riseofgru And there you have it. The way to get free content in the Minecraft marketplace.
