How to Get the Original Minecraft Textures Back

Minecraft looks different i don’t like it let’s figure out how to get back to the old stuff hey guys it’s chad there are new textures to the game of minecraft as of recording this video we’re in snapshots so if you’re playing in the snapshots you’re seeing these new textures but in

The future these will be published to the normal game so everybody who plays minecraft will be using these new textures what is the backstory here well minecraft hired a pixel artist named jasper who has been recreating all of the textures by like a professional artist i mean

It’s kind of like you know finally we get a real artist in the game to make some of these textures all the old textures have been made by the programmers who work on minecraft and so now they’re getting kicked out thrown out and replaced with new ones i personally never really liked playing

With texture packs because i remember the shape and the the kind of like the the outline and the look of certain things so as i’m searching through menus or just playing the game and need to find something quick quick quick i know exactly what to look for and whenever i

Play off of default on with a texture pack uh it gets i get so confused so fast so being forced to play with a new texture version of minecraft uh it really upset me in the beginning i’ve gotten used to it now but i can totally understand why

People don’t want to play with this version of minecraft so how do you change it well here we are inside of minecraft and you can see that these are some of the new textures you can especially tell whenever you look at any of the items food has changed carrots look very very different

Tools at the moment as of recording this video are basically the same but things like armor have definitely changed first on java go to your options go to your resource packs and look at that you got two different resource packs so default is always applied and

Programmer art is the name for the old textures if you want them all back so once we hit done it’ll reload all of our textures and there you go now this is the old look of the game a little bit more contrasty and everything looks exactly as it used

To i’m also going to show you where i suspect it will be whenever you are playing on the bedrock edition that’s pocket edition switch basically all of the mobile versions of the game now as of now there is no new resources in the game but let me show you where you will

Probably change it this is my best guess is under settings and you have a few different places to say to change it global resources and right here this is a different texture pack this is pure bd craft but i can click add this one has to download

But you’d click add and then it would add it as a layer above your default resources so i assume it would either be there so there you go i can just click it hit plus or hit negative if i want to remove it once again that is global resources but

If you happen to have a world that has resources applied you’d click the edit button when you’re outside of the world then go to resource packs and then add it from there if you happen to be inside of the world you can view the other resource packs but you cannot apply them

Like so i go into settings scroll down here to resources and resource packs i can kind of click them but as you can see at the top you cannot change resource packs while playing in a world so you have to do it outside of the world in order to

Change it so this is what pure bd craft looks like on my world once i have it applied and it looks so good so there you have it a few ways to make sure you get those old textures back if you absolutely hate the new ones and uh don’t hate on them

Too much i think that i think that they’re okay in fact i think that i will switch and stay with the newer versions of the textures versus the old ones but i know a lot of people get frustrated with the old uh being replaced by the new thanks so much for watching this
