Alright so in today’s video i’m going to show you how to install and set up grief prevention on your minecraft server now grief prevention is by far the best minecraft anti-grief plugin in the world it basically gives players the ability to claim their own area and after that They will be the only ones that are able to break and place any blocks inside of that area that way not a single person can grieve anything from you because you’ll just have it protected and of course you can give other players access to break and place blocks inside of one Of your areas so you can still play together it is by far the best anti-grief plugin in the world and today i’m going to show you how to install it on your minecraft server anyway before we start it would really mean the time if you could leave in today’s video i’m gonna show you everything you will need to know about installing grief prevention on your minecraft server like i said great prevention is by far the best anti-grief Plugin in the world now the thing that makes grief prevention such a great plugin is that it doesn’t track griefing it also doesn’t fix grieving it prevents grieving it makes sure that nobody will even get the chance to grieve anything in your minecraft server so without any Further ado let’s go and set up grief prevention so the first thing you will have to do is go to the download link in the description and download grief prevention from the spigets mc website after downloading it just drag it into your plugins folder restart your server Rejoin your server and after that you will be good to go that’s the whole installation process grid prevention is now already installed on your minecraft server now let’s talk about how to actually use it so i’m just gonna grab a stick and let’s grab a golden shovel There we go so if we right click on the stick you will see no one has claimed this block so the stick is actually a tool that will tell you when a block has been claimed so we can right click on a block and it will tell us no one has Claimed this block if anybody has claimed that block it will of course give another message now the golden shovel is the tool that will help us claim an area so it gives the message you may claim up to 132 more blocks click for land claim help and there you Have some kind of guide to actually help you on how to claim land but i’m just going to explain you here so let’s say i’ve built something amazing i have made a gigantic uh pal off there we go that’s beautiful oh my god it’s so great it’s the most amazing Structure you’ve ever seen and of course i don’t want anybody to touch it i don’t want anybody to grieve it to break it nothing like that keep your hands off of my art i’m gonna claim this i wanna claim this i wanna make sure nobody can Break it anymore so to claim it the only thing you have to do is grab the golden shovel and right click in one of the corners of the area you want to claim so let’s say we want an area that is like from there to let’s say here something like that then We grab the golden shovel we’re gonna right click over there claim corner set use the shovel again at the opposite corner to claim a rectangle of land cancel put shovel away okay so we’re not gonna put a shovel away we’re just going to the other corner and right click here Any claim must be at least 100 total claim blocks so the area we want to claim is actually too small now you can edit this in the config file so in the config you can make it so that you can claim much smaller areas in this case we Haven’t been in the config file yet so i’m just gonna gonna make a new corner over here that should be enough right claim corner sets then i’m gonna do my second claim there we go claim created use slash trust to share it with friends So if i fly in the air right now you can see that there are glowstone blocks on every single corner so everything that is in between these glowstone blocks has been claimed it’s my area i’m the only one who can edit break or do anything inside this area now like it says use Slash trust to share with friends so just for the purpose of this video i’ve let brad shop join the server so if i go inside of the area now and then i type slash trust breadshop there you can see granted pre-shop permissions to build in this claim so bradshaw will now be able To break and place any blocks inside this area it’s like the area doesn’t exist for him now to see all the players that i’ve actually trusted we can type trust list if you do that you can see everyone who you’ve actually trusted and where you trusted them for and you might Have already noticed it but there are actually four different levels of trust you got the excess trust the container’s trust the build trust and the manage trust now if you type slash trust plus a username you will always give them build trust so if i do slash trust breadshop They will automatically get the build trust which is basically level 3. now let’s say bradshaw i mean come on look at him he’s a little bit of a shady guy let’s be honest we don’t want this guy to ruin our beautiful structure i don’t want him to be able to break and place Any blocks inside of my area but i do want him to be able to open chests for example now let’s say i would want that we’re just gonna type container trust and then red shop there we go granted the breach of permission to access containers and animals in this claim so If i now type trust’s list you can see that breadshop is now on level 2 which is containers this means that brideshop is not able to break or place any blocks inside this area brideshop is able to access chests and animals inside this area so if i would have placed chests Inside this area bradshaw can now access them if i would have animals like cows then he could kill the cows he could also milk them if i got shaved inside the area he can use a sheer to actually get wool from them that’s what container trust does now let’s say i wouldn’t even Trust him with container trust i mean look at him he’s he’s a very shady guy you don’t want to know what’s going on inside of his head so what i’m gonna do is give him excess trust access trust to bridge up if we go to the trust list you Can see that brad shop now has excess trust now great prevention actually already explains what it does it gives bradshaw the permission to use buttons and levers in this claim so let’s say i would have a house and you can only access the house through an iron door Then bradshaw is now able to press the button to open the iron door if brideshop hasn’t been trusted then he won’t be able to access the house at all but because he has excess trust he now is though he can’t open any chests he can’t kill or loot any animals he can Just access the area that’s it and of course last but not least if we type permission trust breadshop and then trust list you can see that breadshop is now actually a manager so while you have the access the container and the build trust you also have a managed trust now The managed trust is basically the level 4 of trust but like you can see bradshaw is on the list two times one time for the trust level he has and the managed trust is basically above the rest it is not that he is now able to build or Break or do whatever in the area but he is a manager so that basically means that bradshaw is now able to add other players to this area so branch up can now trust other players i believe that breadshop is also able to delete the claim he’s also able to delete the area Entirely hi casasura from the future here so i’ve actually done a little bit more research on how exactly the permissions trust works basically the way it works is that in the example i use where brass job has excess trust and permission trust at the same time bradshaw itself will actually only have Excess trust so he will only be able to open fence gates but he won’t be able to open any chests or build anything inside the region but because he also has permissions trust he will be able to trust other players but he will only be able to access trust them so because Brass brasshop only has excess trust he will only be able to access trust other players he won’t be able to build trust or container trust anyone because that’s just above his level so if you would give somebody permissions trust and container trust for example then you Will be able to open chests you would also be able to open fence gates and all that and you will be able to trust other players but you will only be able to access trust them or container trust them you won’t be able to build trust them because build trust is level 3 Container trust is level 2 and excess trust is level 1. also what i said earlier about that you might be able to delete the region if you have permissions trust that’s not the case you can delete a region only the actual owner of the region can delete it but Let’s say you would give a friend normal trust so build trust and also permissions trust then he will be able to access trust contain your trust and just normal build trust other players so they can also build in your region so it’s still kind of a risky trust to give I mean with permissions trust somebody can basically invite everyone on the server to your region but at least they can delete your region so that’s something anyways that was everything from futurecast azura let’s go back to casasura from the past now what’s also really nice about grief Prevention is that you won’t have to add a lot of permissions or change a lot in the config you literally just have to drag the plugin in and it will work now there is a config file and there are things you can change but it’s not necessary at all grief prevention will Automatically see who are the obese on the server and it will give all the ops access to administrator commands while for normal players out of the gate without having to add any permissions they will already be able to claim their own area trust people all of that you Don’t have to add any permissions for that it will just immediately work now like i said there is a conflict file and you can change things in that config file so let’s go and check that out so here we are inside of the grief prevention config file now here we Actually have tons of things you can change now from the start i’m gonna tell you there are not a lot of things you will actually have to change at all there might only be a few things that you might want to have a little bit different and that’s what i’m gonna show You now so first of all on line number seven under claims you will actually see all the worlds where grave prevention has been enabled in right now it’s only enabled in the normal overworld the normal overworld is of course called world and it’s set to survival so in Survival mode people in the world world in the world that’s called worlds will be able to use grief prevention so that means right now people are not able to claim anything inside the nether now if you would want people to be able to also claim inside the nether which i think There’s a pretty big chance you would want that i mean the nether is really big now since 1.16 it could be very fun to make another base and you know i can see that people actually want to live inside the nether so to change that we’re just gonna copy the survival text And paste it over here there we go now if you also want people to be able to claim inside of the end you can just change that in the same way it’s very straightforward now grave prevention is a very general plugin that prevents grieving it’s not only for claiming Areas it will also prevent other things so for example prevent global monster acts i think this only applies if people have monster x inside of their survival inventory then it will just not work or they will disappear i don’t exactly know how it works at least it’s set to true Which means that monster x are not allowed in the world over here for example you have the lock trap doors and here the lock fan gates now this is for a region so let’s say i would have made a region in the server but let’s say inside the region there’s a trap door And there’s a fence gate people will be able to open that trap door but they won’t be able to open the fence gate if you also want people to not be able to open the trapdoor you will have to set this to true that’s kind of how the Config works so if you don’t want people to access your wooden doors without excess trust you can set this to true i’m just gonna skip over all these lines over here you will see the claim blocks acquired per hour default 100 so what that means is that every single hour so For every single hour playing on the server people will get an additional 100 blocks so on the start of this video you saw that i had 132 blocks something like that that i could actually spend on the server where that i could actually use to claim an Area now for every single hour playing on the server an additional 100 blocks will be added to that now you can also set a max so by default it has a maximum of 80 000 claim blocks which means that people will keep receiving 100 claim blocks every single hour they play on The server until they’ve reached 80 thousand after that it will stop they’ve reached the max they can claim 80 000 blocks on the server which is a lot i tell you that’s a lot now scrolling down a little bit more on row 32 you will see a very confusing line automatic New player claim radius castle what the freak is that what does it mean well the automatic new claim radius is basically when i join a server and i place a chest how far around that chests will be claimed so default without actually claiming an area as soon as you place a Chest it will actually be claimed by you immediately now sometimes that can be really handy but for some servers it’s a nightmare let’s say you would build a house with some friends so you claim a region you trust the players you want to trust and you actually start making a House then you start placing down chests but every single chest you place down will be an additional region so for every single chest you will have to once again trust everyone to be able to access it that’s just that’s a giant hassle now to disable this the only Thing you have to do is change this number to four to minus one there we go it has been disabled when people place a chest now it won’t make a new region now the chance will only be protected when it’s already inside of a claimed region Here you can also see the minimum area so the minimum area is now 100 let’s say you want people to be able to claim a very small area you can make this number lower so we can make it 20 for example oh 29 20. now people will be able to claim Very small areas could be handy but if you don’t want a lot of very small areas everywhere around your world then you can just leave this on 100 or maybe make it even bigger now here of course you got the tool so the stick and the golden Shovel you can change that if you want now here we got the expiration and this is actually really important especially if you have a big server so after not joining a server for a specific amount of time grief prevention will actually remove your regions so if you have a Very big server with lots of players and some players just claim tons of areas and after that they leave and don’t join anymore then eventually that area would just become public again now the chess claim days is the amount of days that a chess claim will actually remain before It gets deleted now it’s now set to 7 so after 7 days a chess claim will be deleted well over here we just disabled chess claims but let’s say you didn’t let’s say you just kept it on 4 or on 3 or on 2 doesn’t matter let’s say you Have chest claims then you might want to change this number over here you also have the expiration of normal claims so just claims you made let’s say i made a claim around my house and after that i don’t join the server for 14 days then that claim will be deleted now i can Tell you on my server on starcraft smp we actually set this to 30 so an entire month when people don’t join for more than a month their regions will be deleted now you can also set an expiration for all claims so let’s say breadshop the sneaky bastard he is he Joins the server makes tons of claims does whatever he wants and after that he leaves the server to never join again then after 60 days every single claim he has made on the server all of them will be deleted now in this case it’s set to 60 days so all his claims will already been deleted before the 60 days have been hit because the chess claims are set to 7 the unused claims are set to 30 but let’s say he has some other claims out there after 60 days all his claims Will be deleted now in op will also get a message in chat saying that this person hasn’t joined for such a long time all his claims have been removed and then the area would just be public again i mean everything the player built is still there but other players can now Just grab his stuff and start living in his house and do whatever they want with it because it’s not from that person anymore he didn’t join for 2 full months 60 days all his claims have been deleted it’s now just public area again now over here you also have the automatic nature Restoration so let’s say i would make a gigantic house and i would claim it after that i wouldn’t join for 60 days then all my claims would get deleted also the claim around the giant house now if you set this to true the server will try to remove the house and basically Restore the nature restore the normal map before you actually start a building on it now i would not recommend using it because in 1.17 it’s pretty broken it doesn’t work very great it won’t restore the area well i mean it will just look very off so i would not recommend doing It just let people raid the house after the claim has been deleted i mean that can also be really fun on an sp server just let people raid a house of a player that won’t join anymore now scrolling down a bit more eventually you will get the spam there basically this section of Grave prevention will try to prevent spam now i’m not using it myself on my server so i’ve just set this to false if you want to of course you can leave it enabled it will make it so that when people like keep joining and leaving your server after five times it will Just count as spam i think that gritty prevention can even ban you for spamming so that’s something like i said i’m not using it myself because i found it pretty inconsistent like some people would just normally chat and they would get banned so i would actually leave This on false and use another anti-spam plugin maybe you also have the pvp rules so you can disable and enable pvp in certain worlds so right now pvp is enabled everywhere i wouldn’t really touch this i mean you can disable pvp in many plugins you can disable it in grief Prevention you can disable it in essentials you can disable it in multiverse but you can also just change it in the properties file of minecraft itself now if i were you i would just choose one i would choose one place to manage your pvp and not everywhere i mean pretty funny Story i had a time the pvp was disabled on the server eventually i wanted to enable it in certain areas but because i had so many plugins all disabled pvp i had to go through every single plugin i had and re-enable pvp in every single plugin before i could get it working it Was a giant hassle so i would just leave it on true and if you want to disable pvp then do it in the general properties file of minecraft i mean that’s the easiest for sure so before we’re gonna end this video there’s one more thing i Want to show you let’s say as an admin you want to edit somebody’s claim blocks i think this is a scenario that you will see quite often somebody wants to claim a gigantic area but he doesn’t have enough claim blocks of course you want that person to claim the area because i Mean he’s building something big he wants to claim it you also don’t want people to grieve it so you’re gonna give him the extra claim blocks he needs to be able to claim this whole area now to do that you can give a person extra claim blocks grief prevention calls it Bonus claim blocks so these are not the claim blocks that players will have by default it are also not to claim blocks that people will earn every single hour it are just bonus claim blocks extra claim blocks that an owner or an administrator can give to a player so to Do that all you have to do is type slash adjust bonus claim blocks then the name of the player in this case casasura and then the amount you want to set it to so let’s say i want to set it to ten thousand there we go adjusted cast Azura’s bonus claim blocks by 10 000. new total of claim blocks is ten thousand now if i will go to my shovel then you can see that my total is ten thousand and thirty four so there are ten thousand bonus claim blocks and thirty four normal claim blocks now if You type slash claim list you can see how many claim blocks you actually have and also how many claims you have so you can see 164 blocks from play plus 10 000 bonus claim blocks is a total of 10 164 total claim blocks and i’ve claimed a Single region the region is inside of the world world because the world the overworld is just called world so the world is world you will see the location where the claim is at and then you will see how big it is in this case 130 blocks which means that 10 164 claim blocks minus 130 blocks which means 10 034 claim blocks left to spend and that’s basically how that works i said it was the best anti-grave plugin in the world it’s amazing i would highly recommend every single survival or sap server to run this plugin it is amazing It really does lift a lot of stress from the staff team i mean before i had this plugin on the server every single time somebody got grieved we would actually have to look at it manually we would actually have to go in the server go to The place that was grieved then with a plugin like core protect we had to look up who actually grieved then we had to punish him and then we had to restore whatever was grieved it was a giant hassle grief prevention works a lot better like that the full responsibility Will go to the player they will actually be responsible for their own area for their own safety and if they don’t claim an area because they don’t want to and they get grieved then it’s kind of their own fault anyways guys i really really hope you enjoyed watching this video if You did make sure to leave a like if you’re
