How to make backups of your worlds and also download other people’s worlds in minecraft ready set go okay guys so what you’re going to want to do is you’re going to want to go into the single player button here and we just made a little test World here just so we can use this for the sake of the example and let’s say you wanted to make a backup of this file so you want to make it so that you know if something messed up in the file or if you died on hardcore or anything like that That you wanted to save your world and have a backup of it what you can do is you can go to edit and you go to make backup and you see here three megabytes that’s the size of the entire generated world now this is a brand new world so it hasn’t loaded Any of the chunks yet so the file size is pretty small but keep in mind with bigger worlds with more and more things done to them the file size will be bigger so now if we go back to edit and we go to open backups folder you’ll be able to see here That in our backups folder we have a list of all the files that we’ve made backups of you’ll see here that i have the test world backup made on today’s date okay and that is the zip file with all of your level data so it has you know your character’s damage your character’s Health your character’s skin everything everything about the world everything is saved in this file so what you’re going to want to do is if you want to restore this file meaning if you messed up what you’re going to want to do is make a copy of this file Then you’re going to need to find your dot minecraft folder now the easy way to do that is to go into the game and do the same process that we already did where we go into the backups folder and then just click the dot minecraft right here And then you’ll see look at this screen here so this is all of the data involved with your minecraft client okay and what you’re going to want to do is you’re going to want to go to save so you’ll notice the backups folder is just Up here so if you go into saves here these are all of the saves that i have in my world right here ignore these zip files these are all backups that i’ve messed around with in the past but for now focus on these so if i were To click on one of these it shows you know stats the region uh player data position things like that and so what you’re going to want to do is you’re going to want to make sure that test world here see so this is the file That you just saved out of and you want to get rid of so what you’re going to want to do is personally i would say make a backup of this and save it to your desktop just in case it’s not what you want to do but delete this file and paste The zip file of the backup in here so you have it down here test world now the easiest way you can do this is just extract here or extract files so i’m going to go extract here and you’ll see that the test world folder is back so if i click on this It has all of our data again so now if i go back into minecraft we should be able to see that the folder is there now keep in mind too this also works for world downloads so if you were to go to say the mewbase world download from one of my previous videos And go to fitmc’s video also check out fit he’s got a really awesome channel talks about 2b2t it’s the biggest anarchy server in all of minecraft i highly recommend his content if you go down into his description of his video here you can see that he has a link To the mu based download so if you click that and then you scroll up to the top here and click download you can download a zip file of the world download now this zip file is in the exact same format as your backup files so you take this file Unzip it in your saves folder now also i want to mention make sure that you’re playing minecraft in the version that the file is for so 2b2t was made on a very old version of minecraft i’m not entirely sure which one it is you’d have to double check But when you open minecraft make sure you’re using that version of it or else you won’t be able to access the file now you can update it to a later version but i find sometimes with the older versions of minecraft they don’t like to update to the most recent one so just Keep that in mind if it doesn’t work you might just be stuck playing on an older version of minecraft and that’s how to make backups of your worlds and also download other people’s worlds if this video helped you out please leave a like and if it really helped you out please subscribe Video Information
