What’s going on gamers today we’re gonna be learning how to adjust operator permissions but before we get in the tutorial don’t forget to subscribe to the official apex YouTube channel and like this video when you create your server you probably expect to have every permission / command and you may want to Give other players access to every command as well for Minecraft servers this is simply done by making yourself up basically being off it gives you every permission the server has to offer this is what allows you to use commands such as slash game mode if you host with Apex the owner of the server is automatically set however you may want to set other players as operators we’re gonna be walking you through the different levels of Opie how to set a server operator and how to remove an operator in the 1.7.10 update a permission levels were added these allow You to control how much control on the server the operators will have if you want to add individual permissions for certain players or groups of players you’re going to need a plugin such as permissions X if you want to set a player to opie what you need to do is Head to the game panel here and usually you need to stop your server but for this you don’t need to the first step in changing player ops is heading to console and then from here you need to go to the command line and then the Users name and then hit enter and as you can see it has made username a server operator but this will work for any user and if you want to remove off from a player or Diop a player you can do the same thing you can head to console and Then you can go to the command line and then you can type de opie and then user name and then hit enter as you can see it made username no longer a server operator well this could be used for any minecraft player and if you want to set The opie level you need to stop the server this is a little bit different so we need to make sure that we’re not changing any files too much and then corrupting your server so let’s go ahead and stop it from here you’re gonna want to jump to Config files and then from config files go to server settings and then you’re gonna need to scroll down to locate a permission level and once you get to a permission level you can see all of the levels that you can set right here you can have them bypass spawn protection Basic cheat commands have them banned cake and op command other players and you’d have them use use and stop commands just make sure that you click the one that you want your ops to have and then scroll down and hit save at the top you’ll be notified that your config File has been saved from there go ahead and click on the name of your server at the top and either start or restart your server now I’m gonna go ahead and give a quick overview of op levels each op level inherits level before it so for example level 3 also has the commands And abilities of level 2 and level 1 the OP permission levels were released during the 1.7.10 development so this won’t apply to any version of minecraft under 1.7.10 level 1 op will allow server operators to bypass the default spawn protection this is the lowest level up and doesn’t have any commands Included if you have little to set operators will be able to use the following commands slash game roll slash give slash effect slash clear slash difficulty /summon / TP / game mode and set slip and /setblock they will also have permission to edit command blocks And at level 3 the level is going to allow server operators to use of following commands / ban flash kick / Diop and slash up and level 4 is highest level of OP it allows server operators to use the slash stop command and that’s it you now know how to adjust your OP Permissions let’s go over one common issue with this the most common issue is not having access to all of the commands even when your opt if you opt yourself and maybe another player but you still don’t have permissions like /gamemode it’s likely that you have the wrong Opie Level set you can edit this by stopping the server and once your servers come to a full stop you can go ahead and jump to config files from here you’re going to want to go to server settings and scroll down until you find a permission level and Right here you have our four levels of up make sure that you change it to your desired level so if we want all server app permissions make sure to click use slash stop and then from here scroll down and hit save and once you’re sure that your config file has saved go ahead And click on your servers name at the top and either start or restart your server well folks that’s all I’ve got for you today we have successfully given our server operators permissions and we’ve set certain users to have up I want to thank you for watching this Tutorial and I want to thank you for using an apex server and as always I hope you have lots of fun Video Information

About This Video
As the owner of a server, it’s natural that you’d have every permission and access to every command. In some cases, you may wish to give another player access to all these permissions as well. In Minecraft, you can do this by making yourself OP. Being OP allows you access to every permission available on the server, and allows you to use all the available commands. With Apex Hosting, the owner of the server is OP automatically. In this guide, we will show you how to set other players as operators and we’ll have a look at the various options available to you.
