Hello everyone I am in Minecraft in VR on my metaquest 2 no wires just living the Standalone Minecraft dream and in this video I’m going to show you how to do it oh my word look out there and if you’ve ever wanted to play Minecraft in virtual reality this is your guide on How to do it die die ah I died so in order to get Minecraft set up on your headset to work Standalone um there are a couple of ways of doing it um one of the ways you do need a PC or a Mac it doesn’t have to be a gaming PCR Max you don’t have to worry about saying it up in that sort of sense but um you just need something to be able to transfer files onto this there is a way of doing it without that and maybe I’ll make another video If you really want That so comment down below if you want me to work that out and show you um however this way I’m going to be using my Mac let’s do it firstly you’re going to want to do a couple of things you need to set up on your phone on your App turning your headsets into developer mode one of the ways to do that is um going onto the app and just switching it on so you go into the meta app go into the headset settings and turning on developer mode and you need to create a developer account Um it’s fairly simple and it just sort of walks you through the process I’m not going to go through that here because it’s just going to take us loads of time that we need to spend looking at this Minecraft or Quest Craft on here so once We’ve done that we need to do a couple of things you need to download side quests which is an app for your Mac or for something else so for example if I open up sign question once you’ve got it downloaded I’ll try to stick a link in The description so you can follow that as well and I have sidequest here so you can see it on my screen uh this is side quests that we have um on the screen here and what we want to do is we just want to type in um Quest Craft And that is here so we have questcraft here um and literally you’re going to need to do is download app and sideload but we’re not going to do that yet first thing we’re going to do is plug our headsets into our computer so you can use any data USBC cable Um the cable I’m using is the one that comes in the box and I’ll just plug it into USB port but you can use a USB to USBC or something like that if you’ve got that on your Mac and once this is connected you’re going to need to pop Your headset on and you’re going to need to allow file transfers and stuff for that so that should pop up on here so if I do that allow device to access connected files so I’m going to press allow on there and that should be me done I can now take that back off and we’re back to the computer and as you can see on my screen it now says Oculus Quest 2 on the top of the side quest so I can go pop down to download app sideload and you can either log into sidequest if you Have an account or you can go on to you just put in your country residence and your date of birth and you just press confirm and now we wait and we just wait for it to download and once it’s downloaded it will then say installing and once it’s finished installing it Will say all tasks completed and that’s pretty much it um the next thing you are going to need to have is a copy of Minecraft Java so we don’t need the computer anymore that’s all done with and we can unplug our headset and the reason why we need Minecraft driver account is because as much as this is Minecraft for your quest you still need an account it’s not free Minecraft and I apologize if you’ve gotten this far and you weren’t planning on paying for Minecraft unfortunately you’re gonna need to but you do need the Java Edition Um so I don’t I don’t really know how that works but just make sure you have the Java edition of it and then once you do have that and you can then hop on your headset and let’s get it set up okay so once we are in what we can do is We can go on to our app library and you can see on the app Library um it doesn’t actually come up it’s not an app that’s loaded up on here you need to go up to this top box here and press that one and then go down to unknown sources and you Should see questcraft there so if you tap that it’s now going to load it up now we’re going to do a lot of waiting for this first initial setup just because it needs to do a lot of different bits but we need to make sure we’re allowing permissions allow and It’s made of unity allow permissions and then it’s going to jump out but don’t worry that’s pretty normal you then load it up again and this time it should work now there we go now we’re in the loading menu so we’re now in the menu so this is Sort of a launcher it’s not actually um the Minecraft thing but we need to log in here so this is where your account will come in handy so you go up to Microsoft login and it’s going to give you a little link so you literally just press um www.microsoft.com and then you link Your code so you then go back to another device so you can do this login thing now this is where it becomes a bit difficult because you have to remember this code And then log in and we just got to make sure that we’re happy for it all to go through so we do that and also we’ve accepted those permissions we can close the window and we are completely done with any other device we should now be more than Able to just go on here and login and now it’s going to stay on this menu for quite a while okay and now we get onto this menu here so we basically have logged into our account we’ve got the um the version and we can quickly switch Easily between those We’ve Got Mods if we have those enabled but I don’t have any mods downloaded so that’s not a problem and we’re just going to press play we can jump in now you can play multiplayer with this um however you’ve got to be careful depending on what Minecraft server You’re on because some people get funny if people are playing this because you could say in some ways you have advantages um I would say it’s probably harder but um we’ll get to that and um we’re on this menu now so it’s just basically going to be loading up Um the version of Minecraft that we want to play and once we’ve done that we’ll be in an actual version of Minecraft and we can make a world and stuff like that so just in case of waiting and just a warning sometimes it takes a long time sometimes it doesn’t Um but it might take quite a while oh here we are Mojang Studios all right look at that so we’ve got basically a 2d screen in front of me um with just what’s going on there so yeah so basically um Minecraft running on there and I got these little One looks like remote stands so um what I can do you can change that don’t change that you’ve got um some options and stuff like that so if I go options and we can we’ve got some VR settings we’ve got skin customization um a whole bunch of different bits and Bobs On the resource packs that you can download so you can get um different stuff like that and all this stuff you can I’m pretty sure you just add it on to um the files inside the headset okay so done I’m gonna go done I’m just going To start a world let’s start a world shall we single player and we’re going to call this world sums V oh mine oh craft experience Uh experience uh let’s just stick with it here guys enter and now we’re in this sort of like weird place where it’s loading the world um and it feels like you’re sort of falling through a reality that’s fine it just takes a bit of time just give it a Bit of time to go oh we’re loading we’re in and I am on a tree uh when you first load up it’s very laggy like the frame rate is very low but I think once the world starts generating a bit further away um it gets a bit better It’s already starting to seem a bit smoother oh I’m like because I’m sat down it’s not quite registered the fact that I’m sitting down um but a few cool things first of all when you punch a block it punches it and you can do it manually as well Because this does get a bit um this does get a bit boring so let’s stand up shall we might that might make this easier oh yeah look at this so oh an apple just fell from the tree take that so you’ve got your menu here and you can switch between all your Different bits and bulbs and stuff like that just through going through there all right so and then you can bring up a crafting menu there we go and we oh hello oh my word freaking cow this is lovely and the frame rate is a bit low but I think that’s partly Because I’m recording so that’s going to take up a lot of it I’m going to do it with your own hands like that so this becomes like a proper workout now what a life we live eh when I was a kid I first played Minecraft a long time Ago I never would have thought I’d been able to do something like this what what it’s weird that he holds a sword like that instead of like an actual sword but it will do oh well I love look at the view it’s beautiful it’s actually um places out there So let’s put that nope let’s put that there and now I’m safe oh my word ah ah oh no guys I hope you enjoyed the video have fun playing Minecraft in VR and I’ll see you in the next
