Super flat survival is one of the most interesting survival challenges in Minecraft and a lot of people have been asking me how to start a new super flat world well that’s easy you click create new world go to world options change the world type and click create thanks for watching But wait there’s a bit more to it than that like how do you make sure that strongholds generate so you can get to the end or how do you get resources and what should you do first let’s dive into it so the first thing to sort out is how To get all the structures for years this was easy just hit the generate structures button and you would get the only structure in super flat Villages but in recent updates more and more structures have been added to super flat but it’s not really straightforward depending on which version you start the World in and which version you end up in you might have different sets of structures all of this started back in 1.16.1 strongholds began appearing on new super flat worlds but it was quickly patched out by 1.16.2 also eyes vendor in the locate command didn’t work at all But then in 1.18.2 strongholds returned only this time they would appear in both new and existing worlds locate and I vendor now worked and the cherry on top was that as long as your world was created before 1.18 you’d get other structures too like Pillager outposts mine shafts and ruined portals the Reason for this is that the world height was lowered in 1.18 and so super flat worlds now generate at y negative 64 instead of Y zero this new height is too low for those other structures to appear so you’d think if you started in the newest update but then added 64 layers Of air below the Bedrock to the preset it would work right well it doesn’t and I don’t I don’t know I don’t know why Minecraft is weird the code is weird luckily a player in my Discord named ocean threw together this really helpful chart that shows which structures you Get for which versions so let’s test it out we can generate a world in 1.18 or 1.18.1 and we’ll get no structures other than Villages as you can see but if we start in 1.17 and then upgrade to the newest version bam all four structures Are here this was one of the things that made me most excited about 1.19 since none of the changes to super flat were patched out it looks like structures are here to stay okay so now let’s take that 1.18 world we created and upgraded to 1.19. this one’s a bit weird we get Strongholds ruined portals and Pillager outposts but no mine shafts all right and then for the last test we’ll make a brand new world in 1.19 and as you can see we only get strongholds in this one so if you want all the structures starting 1.17.1 or earlier and then Upgrade to 1.18.2 or later but if you want to build with the full world height without having to break any bedrock you’ll need to start in 1.18 or 1.18.1 and then upgrade but without mine shafts you won’t be able to access caves fighter spawners or glowberries but Before we move on to what you should do first in your new world we should probably talk about the extinct mobs of super flat extinct mobs are mobs that you could get in the past but you can’t get in the newer version the first extinct mob is rabbits which were Removed from Planes biomes in 1.9 so if you want rabbits you’ll have to start in 1.8 the second one is squid which were removed in 1.13.1 so you can start earlier than that update if you want to name tag a couple of them and last but not least axolotls were limited to Lush Cave biomes in 1.18 so you’ll want to make sure you get them in the 1.17 update if you want them a few people have asked me how to get them and basically you just create a big dark cube of water and make sure that the bottom layer is Stone all right you’ve Got all the mobs you want you’ve got all your structures so what’s the first thing you should do in your new super Flower World your first step is going to be to head to a village Villages often have animals and you can grab some hay To craft into bread make sure to steal a bed so you can sleep through the night and get your first saplings from the trees that spawn this Village I got is pretty small there’s no hay or anything so I’m just gonna move on to the next One but we do have this horse so let’s see if there’s a saddle no way dude nice the horse you’re acquaintance this will be great because horses are a great quick way to get around an early game super flat I just got to a second village and this one has Some hay so I can craft red finally and while we’re here we can kill the Iron Golem for iron as well great now we have enough for a bucket which we’re gonna need in a bit after that what I usually do is make my way to one of the Strongholds in the world one really weird thing about super flat is that the strongholds always spawn in the exact same place no matter what seed you use so you can just run straight to the closest coordinates on that chart once you’re at the stronghold you can grab Some water and use the lava in the portal room to create another portal if you see a ruined portal on your way to the stronghold you might get lucky and find a flint and steel inside the chest but if not you’ll have to place down some wood next to the portal and light It on fire using lava eventually the fire will spread and light the portal up it’s generally a good idea to loot Villages and kill Iron Golems until you have a full set of iron armor before you try to take on the nether but once you feel fully prepared head on into The Nether and try to get all the blaze rods and ender pearls you’ll need to go to the end if you’re comfortable taking on the end fight right away I would say go for it as soon as you have a lytra and shulker box as the game becomes so much Easier but it’s also okay to set up base at one of the nearby Villages and really start farming and trading before you take on the fight when you’re setting up a base you’re going to want to prevent slime spawns as much as possible so they don’t get too annoying I have a whole Video with tips on how to do that but some of them are build your base above y level 40 use path blocks or Moss Carpets on your slime chunks or quickly cover your world with water in order to find slime chunks you can either enter your seed into chunk bases slime chunk finder Or use F3 and G to turn on chunk borders and carefully observe where slimes are spawning also if you go with the water method the best way to do it is to create an infinite water source like so and then walk in a diagonal line placing Down the water so it spreads in two directions at once but just keep in mind that once the water’s there it’s pretty difficult to get rid of especially because you can’t obtain sponges in super flat by the way for a full list of the unobtainable items check out this Video if any of those methods for getting rid of the slimes feel a little bit too high effort keep in mind you can always just build a wall around your workstation and sort of keep them out that way and last but not least if you really hate dealing with slimes I’ve got Some seeds for you be a boy this one has a huge slime chunkless area around spawn and these three seeds have a big slimeless area around each of the three strongholds in ring number one once you’ve conquered the nether in the end you get into the farming portion of Super flat at this stage you’re going to want to set up farms for a lot of the resources you’re going to need all the time the first one to tackle really quick is a cobble or a stone Farm by using lava and water and then after that I would try to set up a villager breeder using that villager breeder you can put for two different Farms an automatic iron farm in a villager trading Hall iron is super essential in Minecraft so the Iron Golem Farm will take care of that and the villager trading Hall will Cover a ton of items that you can’t get any other way there are a ton of awesome ways to get easy emeralds early in the game my personal favorite has always been the white wool trade because it’s so easy to get wool both manually and fully automatically trading sticks is Another really good one as well as iron if you’ve got a surplus from your automatic iron farm trading pumpkins melons and other crops with the farmer is a good way to stack up emeralds there’s also an infinite Book trade still in the game after curing a librarian a couple times you can buy Bookshelves from them from one Emerald then use fortune 3 on the bookshelves and sell all the books back to him for a big profit if you have enough Librarians this is a crazy good way to get emeralds I also recommend building up a simple mob farm rotten flesh can be traded Gunpowder has some great uses late game and bones are useful for a ton of Automatic Farms that you’re going to want to build up eventually if you want to make an enchanting station for your base you’re gonna have to find diamonds and loot chests the best place to look For them is cities but you can also find them in other loot chests like the blacksmith house in the village never use your diamonds to craft tools or armor because you can trade for those with the Villagers really all you need diamonds for are jukeboxes enchantment tables fancy fireworks and diamond Blocks for decorating it’s a big flex no need to wait for bookshelves until the wandering Trader sells you sugar cane you can find them in villages and strongholds or just trade for them it’s the same story with anything that requires glass like making a potion Station instead of waiting for the Wandering Trader to sell you soon you can always just buy glass from the villagers or if all else fails you can get glass bottles from witches once you have all this stuff set up you’re pretty much entering the late stage of your super flat world at this point it’s a Really good idea to build up a Wandering Trader Farm like this designed by sliced lime a ton of items in super flat are only obtainable through the wandering Trader like all the different wood types and he only comes around like every four to six hours on average but if you build This AFK Farm you can leave it on overnight while you sleep in the real world and when you wake up you should have a couple of wandering traders to trade with another essential Farm to build up at this stage is a pigland farm piglens will be your main source of gold Since you can can’t mind for it and then while you’re at it you can make a bartering Farm which is a great source of things like gravel that are really hard to come by on super flat another Farm I really recommend at this stage is enxo4’s raid farm this will supply you With all the emeralds you’re going to need for your endless villager trading and a ton of redstone as well since you can’t mine for that either if you’ve done all the stuff in this video congratulations because you’ve made it to the late game of survival super flat this should cover your first hundred Days in super flat at the very least but after all this it’s time to start planning and constructing the megabase of your dreams should I do a tutorial on how to plan a mega base next if this video gets 50 000 likes I’ll start working on it thanks for watching Video Information
