All right this is going to be a tutorial on how to set up the multi-instance wall for Minecraft speedrunning as a prerequisite for this tutorial I want you guys to follow the Minecraft speedrunning guide from K4 on how to set up all the current mods also you’re Going to want to download Auto hotkey the current version as well as python 3.6.8 also when installing make sure you check the box that says add python to environment variables finally if you guys have any questions feel free to join my Discord and open a ticket in the Tech support channel the first thing we want to do is copy our pre-made instance and name it something like instance one now you can delete your original instance and we’ll be using this instance one as our basic one launch the instance because we have to do a little Bit of extra config the first thing we want to do is go into options press this button and then click use Global options off and set it to be on now close your game now open your Minecraft folder and copy your instance path and then open up Mod check put your instance path in here and now you’re going to want to go down and select effect standard settings and sleep background now go into your instance one click config folder and drag and drop this sleep background.json file that’s in the description in here finally launch your instance one more Time now you can close it and open your config again now you’re going to see standard options.txt drag that and put that on your desktop open this delete everything and shift right click this file copy as path and paste in here and remove the quotation marks it should Look something like this other instance is all set up for multi we want to know how many instances we can run to answer that question you want to open up your task manager click more details and performance under your CPU look at logical processors and divide this Number by two that’s going to be your recommended instance count you’re also going to need at least two gigabytes of RAM for every instance you have so if I run 16 I’m going to need at least 32 gigabytes of RAM that being said you can run more but you will be pushing your System now that we know how many instances we want we want to duplicate this that many times but this tutorial I’ll be running nine so click copy and instance rename this to instance 2 and uncheck these two boxes now that we’ve made all our instances let’s boot them All up now press the golden boots and pause all the instances now that we’re in and if paused them all let’s go get the macro download the latest release from this GitHub page in the description click on the one that says the wall extract this here open up this folder And let’s configure this macro there’s only two files that you need to edit the first one is settings.hk here you only really need to mess with a few things your rows columns and Window mode so for me I’m running nine instances with three rows and three columns for the mode I’m Going to run windowed but you can also run full screen or borderless you can also customize your hotkeys but we’re going to leave them as default for now now that we have our settings and hotkeys ready to run the wall double click the wall.hk it’ll bring up a Window saying you’re missing an instance number.txt that’s okay we just want to type the instance number in here and press OK in this case it’s instance one so we press one and then press OK do that for each instance if you hear the ready that means you’re good to go now You want to open up the wall scene maker also in the description and fill it out for us we’re running three rows three columns we’re not using full screen I use 2560 by 1440 for scene switching method click OBS controller lock indicators check this box for width and Height I would recommend doing 50 50 if you’re on 1920×1080 or 100 100 on 1440p now get your multi MC path the folder should look like this just copy this and paste it in here in instant same format put an instance star and then click submit it’ll generate a file here drag This to your desktop Now open up OBS click scene collections import click add and then find the 3X3 wall.json click import and then switch to that scene collection now click tools scripts plus Now find your macro folder for me it’s on my desktop and then once you’re here Click scripts and click OBS controller also quickly make sure that your python settings install path is is correct the config find your wall scene and then in here you’re going to want to type instance star and lock star click the reload and close now right click the wall full screen projector scene and Your main Monitor and you’re good to go hover over an instance and press e to reset or R to play it you can also press T to reset all instances finally for verification you’re going to want Source record so download and install that then right click the wall filters plus Source Record and configure this make sure this path is different than the one OBS is recording to also make sure you add desktop audio to this overlay scene also last thing I would strongly recommend using this OBS script on the wall to have an image follow your cursor to make Your life a bit easier alright that’s it now again if you guys have any questions open a ticket here thanks a good luck on your runs Video Information
