Do you want to know how to stream using twitch studio twitch studio is a great way for brand new streamers to learn how to stream because they keep it nice compact simple and easy so if that sounds good to you make sure to drop a like on the video to help other brand New streamers find this video but otherwise let’s get started first thing we want to do is head over to our good old pal google and let’s go ahead and download twitch studio because it is a piece of software that we’re going to have to download from here we’ll see That we have the twitch studio beta available for the download so go ahead and click download now go ahead and just run the exe by left-clicking it and you’re going to run through the simple install process so let’s just click install so now we’re brought to our Login page so go ahead and log in with your twitch account and now once you’ve logged in with your twitch account you got this beautiful welcome to twitch studio screen so let’s click on the button that says get started my microphone is getting picked up anytime That i talk in this so if this microphone isn’t the microphone that you want to use go ahead and click change mic and then you can choose from all the different microphones that you may have plugged into your computer but this is the correct microphone so i’m going to Continue on to my webcam so now we’re setting up our webcam now you guys can see me if you don’t see your webcam plugged in then go ahead and click this little box the drop down and then you can choose your webcam from there and if You don’t have it plugged in you plugged it in then click the refresh button and then you should be able to put in your webcam if you have it plugged into your computer what you can do is you can add these filters but i’m just going to go And stick with the tried and true which is the default continue to scenes the little purple button and now it’ll just basically tell you that they’ve already created a gameplay scene a be right back scene and a just chatting scene which is super nice so it’s all pre-built for you You don’t have to do any of that yourself so let’s just continue to settings this is where you can run a test to be able to see your stream quality settings but i’m going to link a video in the top right corner that shows exactly how to see what your best Quality settings are for your pc and internet specs but if you can just simply do the rerun test or run the test if you haven’t already so based off this test it says that i’m going to be able to stream at 1080p 60 frames per second with about 6 000 kilobits per second Which is very good so i’m cool with that let’s go and continue the app and this is where all of the meat and potatoes are so now you can see that we have our gameplay scene right here and then we have our gameplay so my game will be in The background here and then we have this nice background for when the game’s not there we got my webcam and then if i click on the scene here we gotta be right back screen in case you got to use the bathroom make some food and they also have a just chatting screen right Here which is you being the main focus and then they have a chat box and all that stuff on the side so if we look at the top here we can see that we have a session meter which basically lets you know how long you’ve been streaming for How many viewers you have your pc usage and a couple of other things that are more technical if you look on the top right we got our activity feed so any subs bits followers hosts raids all that stuff will pop up there and then moving On past the twitch chat if you look at the bottom we have what people are gonna see on twitch so we got our title we got our game and we got our tags below that we got our start stream button our edit scene button can see my microphone going There and then this is going to be your desktop or your game audio so if you’re streaming and you’re talking you want to have both of these meters going up and down otherwise one of your audio sources is not working before we go messing with the scenes let’s go in the top left Corner and let’s go to file let’s go to settings and then we’ll just quickly breeze over this but we have the general tab here we have the app reset button so basically if you made a mistake and you don’t know how to fix it you can always Just reset the app and it’ll put you at default settings you want to use dark mode theme unless you are a complete psychopath which i mean maybe some of you are so you can use light but oh my god my eyes are bleeding we’re going Back to dark but let’s move on to the stream quality tab this is where you’re going to want to mess with stuff if your stream starts lagging or you’re dropping frames but let’s move on to the stream settings the latency mode i think is probably one of the most important Things you want to always have low latency unless you’re doing like pub g or some battle royale where you don’t want stream snipers then you would add the normal latency so basically that would just add like a little stream delay you want to make sure that your store past broadcasts are on otherwise Your streams are not going to save after you’ve ended the stream and you’re gonna be like cody where are my streams at well but you didn’t have the store pass broadcast option on so unfortunately your stream did not save and you are screwed moving on to the recording tab This is where you can go ahead and record videos if you want to record offline content for youtube and then this is the recording path on where all of your things are saved if you wanted to record a video all you have to do is go to this screen and then instead of Hitting the start stream button you would click this arrow right here and then you click record video and then start recording and then you hit the button again to end the recording and it would show up in your recording file folder and then you can change your recording format i prefer mp4s just Because it seems to be pretty universal but it’s really up to your taste moving on to the audio tab this is where you can mess with your microphone settings if you want to change your volume of how loud it is they got a nice little bar Saying that hey my microphone is just on the brink of being too high but it looks on the upper part of just right which i think is pretty good if you’re having troubles with your microphone it sounds like one ear is coming out more than the other then go ahead and click the Convert to mono button because that’s gonna take your stereo signal and turn it into one mono signal so that way it’s gonna sound balanced on both ears if you’re having some weird audio delays make sure that your audio delay is turned off or if for whatever reason your microphone is earlier than your Webcam then you can turn on an audio delay and then you can go ahead and try and time it correctly i don’t know why you would have that issue but if you do there’s the fix and then you can spice up your microphone with a compressor noise gate and noise suppressor if you Would so choose so so moving on to the hotkey setting this is basically where you can make your life a little bit easier and you can set different keys to do certain things depending on these guidelines here so if you wanted a hotkey to start and end the stream then You can have one by clicking here clicking a key on your keyboard it’ll record that key so whenever you press that key then it’ll start the stream so if i wanted to do that with stop stream you just repeat the process but with a different key let’s go to the Transitions little option here i think this one’s a lot of fun because if you preview the transition so if i switch between my just chatting screen and my brb screen then it’s gonna look like this that’s pretty boring i’m gonna do let’s say fade and look at that so if i Preview the transition it’s gonna look really nice you can change how long it takes you to fade so if you want a slower one then you do two seconds i’m gonna leave it at two seconds i think that’s pretty good the in-game overlay doesn’t really matter but let’s go ahead And preview this transition we just made so let’s exit out of here and now we’re gonna preview it by clicking our other scene so let’s click this scene and wow look at that now we’re a professional streamer that’s great let’s click on the gameplay oh yeah that is just that is Just pleasing on the eyes that’s what you like to see but that’s a good transition get it because we’re we’re talking about transitions but i’m talking about the transition into the next segment of the video anyone anyone anyways let’s go ahead and edit our scene so let’s start with our just Chatting scene because i think it’ll be nice so let’s click edit and now we can see what’s on our screen so the traditional just chatting screen has the text so everyone’s chat messages on the screen as well as a big blown up webcam Of you if we want to do that we click on the little chat thing that they’ve already made for us here what i’m gonna do is click add test messages and just so we can see like how big they are this is super small i don’t like this so what I’m gonna do is actually move some stuff around i’m going to click on the webcam right here i’m going to put it let’s say in this corner and then i’m going to click on the chat box and then i’m going to go ahead and put in this corner and I’m going to stretch it like so so now the messages are there but you’re saying oh cody i can’t see it that’s all right neither can i and i have my contacts in so let’s turn up the scale to the max and there we go now we have all of our Chat messages there so if i add text messages then you can see all of our new chat messages so i think that looks a lot better one more thing that we have to know for the just chatting scene is also the alerts here’s our alert box Right here you can see because i clicked alerts and now we have our box here so i’m going to put it i don’t know let’s say right about here they have a bunch of snapping features on so if you want to fine tune it like i’m doing here then You just click and drag and then once you got it here then just use the arrow keys to fine tune so i want to have this kind of in the middle let’s say this is good enough and if i wanted to test like a follow then i press this button right Here anytime i get a new follower it’ll pop up right there so i think everything looks pretty even and nice you can also stretch this open to be freaking huge if you didn’t want to do that you can really get some pretty good customizations here so if i get a host Oh god that’s awful don’t do that so let’s not do that all right so i’ve accidentally stretched my alert box too large and it had that distorted text and the undo button wasn’t working so this is the perfect time to show you how to add a new layer so let’s click the add New layer button after i’ve deleted my alerts from here you can see all the different things that you can add you can add a countdown images text goals chat boxes webcam all that stuff i want to add my twitch alerts back so let’s click add and then now i’m going to put Them underneath the chat it really doesn’t matter but you can have order of operations here because otherwise they’re going to like stack on each other so the thing at the top of the list is going to be above the other things if i put chat behind my webcam And i drag the chat behind my webcam there you go you can’t really see it but if i drag the chat above my webcam you can see it it’s basically order of operations there so twitch alert should probably be on top but now what i’ve realized if you want to reshape it click This little lock aspect button in the top left corner and then now from here we can go ahead and drag like so and that’ll make sure that the text doesn’t get distorted i’m hoping this is just an assume i haven’t actually tried it yet but let’s go ahead and try it there we Go that looks so much better if we click on follow this is a great time to look at how we can customize our alerts so right now we’ll click browse and then you can go to browse again to find an image that you have on your computer or You can just click on the images tab here and you can find some pre-made ones so i’m gonna do cool cat because cool cat is the best cat we can change our alert noise but the default one is this but if i click change then we can change It to something else by clicking on sounds let’s try alert three and preview it there yeah that sounds so much better right it honestly doesn’t matter once we’ve done that you can change the alert duration if you would like but i think this is good so far i’m gonna x out of The follow alert right there and now we can try the follow and so you’d basically do that for all of them so you can do that for host raid subscription and you customize it by basically rinsing and repeating the whole process that’s how you add the alerts our just Chatting screen looks just fine everything looks great let’s go on our be right back screen maybe customize this a little bit if i wanted to change the text color you could either change the text color through this one right here or you could just go ahead and Click on it let’s say that i want to make the text a little bit bigger i’m going to go here and change the font size to let’s say 96 that looks so much better you want to change the color just click this white box and you can change The color to red it kind of hurts my eyes and go back to white so if you wanted to do that you can feel free to do so you can change the alignment you can change basically anything you want to about this text you can flip it so It’s backwards i don’t know why you’d want to do that but hey you can do it but the be right back screen doesn’t really matter just make sure you have your alerts on and i would personally do the chat thing that we did for just chatting i honestly like it having up Most of the screen because hey you know the chatters want to see their name they want to see their messages while you’re away so you might as well help them do that so we turned the scale up we dragged it and then we add messages so i Think this looks good but in doing this you’re going to want to move a lot of the stuff as i just did with the background i don’t want to do that but let’s go ahead and drag the text over to the right and then we can drag this Thing over the right as well so this way it looks a little bit better i think this looks pretty good for a be right back screen let’s go ahead and move on to our gameplay scene which is probably the most important because this is usually where most of your time is being Spent this is where we want to test some stuff out so let’s click chat i don’t really like that depending on what game you play too it’s gonna kind of depend on where you want the chat or even if you want the chat on your screen at all For gameplay honestly if i’m playing a game most of the time i won’t have chat on screen so what you can do is just hide the layer without deleting it like so and so if you click this i you’re like closing the eye so you can’t see it Get it with the webcam let’s go ahead and change our border so you can go and click on edit border in the bottom right corner after you’ve clicked on it and you can change the size to make it larger or you can make it round i really Like the round feature because you don’t really see that too often and you can also change the opacity if you want which is basically like how transparent it is but the border color i don’t know let’s change it to something more wacky that looks okay actually no that looks Hideous but i’m gonna keep it because that’s just the person i am i wanna watch the world burn now what you’re wondering is okay cody but how do i get my game capture so by default we do have a game capture and it should capture any full screen application or Game that you have however if you wanted to specifically capture a game i’m going to show you how to do that so let’s go ahead and open up a game real quick so i’ve gone ahead and opened up everybody’s favorite game granny three yes the best game of all time one might Say so all i did was go into steam i opened the game and then since granny three is full screen just go ahead and hold alt tab and then you can switch back into twitch studio so by default it already captured it but for whatever reason if it didn’t capture your game go Ahead and click on game capture once again and then click on edit this purple button there now you can see what is capturing but it’s capturing a full screen application so if you wanted a specific window go ahead and click change and then from here you can see All of different windows that you have up for instance if it didn’t show up under full screen application i just go under window granny three click it and then you can choose to capture your cursor or similar windows or if it’s not capturing still then you can turn on the Compatibility and that should fix it as well and if all of this doesn’t work you can also just do capture screen so you can choose i have three monitors so i can choose monitor one i can choose monitor two which is what i’m using to record this video and then i have Monitor three so really you can do any of these things the worst comes to worst you can use display caption will capture your screen if it doesn’t work with the full screen or the window application but luckily it worked for me first try and we had no issues with it so now if We wanted to we could unhide our chat you can kind of find a good place for the chat to be maybe in the bottom right corner it really depends on how you want to have it just to clarify we have both our game audio coming out of this thing Right here and then we have our mic audio coming out of our mic audio signal here and then like i said if you have any problems with that just go ahead to the audio mixer and then you can go ahead and tweak stuff there as well as Doing sound checks you can mute your stream and all that good stuff so if i’m talking to someone in my room and i don’t want them to hear the conversation then i can go ahead and click the mute microphone button and they can no longer Hear me if i don’t want them to hear something in game then i can go ahead and mute the stream so right now they can’t hear anything and then if that i don’t want them to see me if someone walks in the room you can click on turn Off all webcams off option like so and then now my webcam is off i want to have all these enabled if i am streaming because otherwise what’s the point right now that we have everything the way we want it to let’s click save so if you Want to record like i said click this button click record but if you wanted to start streaming click the start stream button as so and then it’s going to give you all of your little screen preview you’ve got my game volume we got my mic volume just to double check and then you Can change your title your game and a bunch of other information your go live notification once you’re ready with that all you have to do is hit go live and you’re good to go Video Information
