How to use Commands in Minecraft Survival WITHOUT Command Blocks | Minecraft Guide to Easy Commands

Do you want to be the master of time space magic and blocks in your minecraft world there are some simple commands that you may not know that are going to make your game so much better don’t you go anywhere i’m going to show you now hello everyone and welcome to another

Minecraft tutorial video from me avamance now have you ever wondered how some of these minecraft players and youtubers can manipulate the minecraft world around them the control you have over your minecraft world it’s actually a lot greater than most players realize and i’m not talking about using command blocks and things like that

I’m just talking about using commands in the chat box lots of minecraft players already use these very simple commands to be able to move around the world or generate things or make things happen that wouldn’t normally happen in vanilla minecraft survival and i have been asked countless times could i do a video

That just goes over some of the basic commands that you can use without command blocks just in your standard game well the answer is yes and here it is now i appreciate that maybe a lot of you already know most of these commands but i give you a bit of a challenge here

How many of these commands do you regularly use in your minecraft game and how many were you maybe not entirely familiar with now the first really important point is that you have to have cheats enabled and by cheats i don’t mean this is cheating cheats is just what minecraft calls your ability

To input commands into your chat box it’s not cheating it’s quite normal in fact within the normal game cheats are often enabled just to allow people to do a lot of different things even on a number of servers cheats are enabled because it makes the game a lot easier to

Flow to be able to move around to be able to create things it’s not cheating let me repeat it is not cheating it is just called cheats now if you have generated your game in minecraft with cheats enabled right at the start you won’t need to do this but if you’ve generated it

Without cheats enabled which is the default then you are going to have to do these very simple steps first off press escape and go to open to lan then allow cheats on and then start land world bang and all of a sudden cheats are enabled if they weren’t before you’re

Gonna have to do that every time you log in because when you log off and save the game when you log back in it goes back to the default so now the cheats are enabled let’s crack on with some of the commands you are not going to need to get

Yourself a command block to be able to do any of the commands that i’m going to give you over this video all you need to do is type in slash into your chat box and you can see at the bottom there we’ve got a slash ready to give us a command all the

Commands are going to be doing that none of them are going to be using command blocks so don’t worry about trying to find those have you ever seen a player playing on a world and you think that’s absolutely beautiful i’d really like to play on that world as well

The chances of you generating that world are pretty much zero and by zero i genuinely do mean pretty much zero the number of potential seed combinations is two to the power of 64. and that is a 20 digit number it’s an 18 followed by 18 zeros give or take

So let’s face it people that’s never going to happen but all is not lost because any player can find the seed of the world that they are playing in which is a long number or potentially a short number which absolutely defines that particular world and you can get that by doing

Slash seed that will give you a number you can see this seed is eight four five five two eight nine one four seven eight six eight one four four three o 304 so you see what i mean they’re big big numbers but if i share that number with you as i just have

And you load up this world by using that number you’ll be in exactly the same world i’ve got now you can see the sun is starting to set behind me but let’s say you’re in a situation where you’re just not ready for the sun to go down yet you want to

Do more daytime activity as a minecraft player you are the master of time and you can change it to whatever time of the day or night cycle that you would like simply by going slash time set and then you can pick any number between 0 and 24 000. imagine that there are 24

000 ticks in a minecraft day slash night with 12 000 being the point of which the sun sets and the moon starts to come up i want it at time set one thousand so very very nearly the start of the day but not quite bang the day is now on and the sun

Is a little bit further up in the sky than if i’d have just put the very very beginning of the day now you can take it even further than that let’s say you don’t want night to come at all you love the day you don’t want night you hate monsters

And all you want it to do is just be light all the time you can do that too you can freeze time hit slash game rule and then do daylight cycle you can see it is at the top there you can choose it and equals false which means it is not true

Obviously it means daylight cycle is turned off bang and if i now look at the sun wherever it’s gone you’ll see that sun is no longer moving in the sky it will stay there it will never ever be any time except for what it is now now often if i’m filming a tutorial

I set the time so as it doesn’t change and that way i don’t have to worry about shadows changing across the build not only can you be the master of time and space you can be the master of the weather as well let’s say i don’t want it to be lovely

And sunny anymore so i do slash weather and i put let’s say rain and all of a sudden it’s going to start to rain as long as the biome that i am in will allow rain to happen so if you’re in a desert for example that command will do absolutely nothing

And just the same i can put weather clear and that will stop the rain from coming i can put a number at the end of that as well so i could put weather clear 10 000 and then the weather will not change from clear for 10 000 ticks take it one step

Further again because there’s always an extra step isn’t there we can go game rule do weather cycle and put that as false and the weather will stay the way it is forever now have you ever wished that this really annoying fella never rocked up they turn up when you’re

Busy doing something else and they’re just irritating with their llamas with all their different colors and all they want to do is trade stuff in a way that’s totally unfair and emerald for a flower come on well you can stop these guys coming into your world if you want to simply type

Game rule do trader spawning equals false and bang you’ll never have a problem with the wandering command again i’m just going to dispatch this guy quickly and i can do that with a command as well i can type slash kill and then put at e which stands for entity a square bracket

Like that type equals and then if i put wandering trader and then close those square brackets watch that poor fella bang that will kill any wandering trader that is in the world right now that is true for any entity so that could be creepers zombies spiders bats you name it

You can kill him you can also kill everybody so slash kill at a bang you’re dead now let’s say you found a really beautiful spot and you’ve built the best base you’ve ever seen and as a result your friends really want to come and have a look at it you can

Give them your world safe and they can open up the world but first time they enter the world they’ll enter it at where the world spawn is and that’s not necessarily where your base is you don’t want to mess around with coordinates you want them to spawn in

Directly into your base for maximum impact let’s face it you want to show off right that is no problem select the block that you want to be your world spawn press f3 and you’ll see the targeted block there two two six sixty six minus one nine seven i can then type in here

Set world spawn and type in that exact number it’s actually suggested for me because my crosshair is sat on it click that number and press enter the world spawn will now be that block or at least certainly within about 16 blocks of that block meaning that your friends can spawn in

Exactly where you want them to but maybe you don’t want to mess around with the world spawn point maybe you want things to stay exactly the way they are but you do need to be able to get them really quickly to your base now it’s no good walking

5 000 blocks to find it you want to teleport them there straight away that is pretty simple too you just have to type slash tp select the player that’ll be me and then type in where you want to teleport to so let’s say five thousand sixty seven five thousand

Press enter bang after a couple of seconds you are going to be teleported to that point unfortunately this appears to be under the water and if i was in survival i’d currently be drowning a really lot but make sure you know where you’re sending people unless of course you want them to drown

You could also teleport them directly into bedrock or into rock or something like that and suffocate the hell out of them that can be fun although it’s a little bit mean now perhaps you are a speedrunner and you want to check out seeds for how good a speed run could potentially be you

Need to know where villages are you need to know where the stronghold is you need to know where points of interest are to know that you’re going to be able to go very very quickly on that seed assuming you’re not doing it on a blind seed which is what the true speed

Runners do but if you want to do your speed run faster than dream it’s really good to know exactly where certain items are so you can type slash locate and we can perhaps locate where the nearest stronghold is so i can type in here stronghold and press enter and that will tell me

That that stronghold is 1330 blocks away maybe not the best for a speed run and it also say exactly what the coordinates are the same thing is true for desert pyramids for shipwrecks for villages for witch huts for all of these kinds of things you can locate all of these points of interest

Yes including a woodland mansion if you want to using that command maybe in your world you want to find some of the rarer biomes you want to jungle or a mesa or maybe you want some ice spikes you can do that using the locate biome command which is exactly there and

Then you can select which biome it is you want to be able to find so for example bamboo jungle i’ve got a hankering for some pandas let’s click that and let’s see where that is going to be we are 3926 blocks away from the nearest bamboo jungle and they are the coordinates

If i then press slash and hit that i can teleport there directly just by pressing enter that’s almost the same as doing a tp that we did a moment ago and that takes me directly to the bamboo jungle let’s say you want to manipulate some of the blocks

For example you’ve got this blooming great big hole here and you don’t want this blooming great big hole here you want to be able to build on it without the worry of there being a hole under your feet you can fill this in really quickly and easily using a

Different command using your f3 key you can find out what the opposite corners of the cube that you want to fill in is so for example i know that opposite there i’ve got 279 59 minus 225 if i look at this block here i can see it’s 265 66 minus 211. so i

Type slash fill i type in that first number there 279 space 59 space minus 225 and then press another space you can see the block you’re looking at is already suggested at the bottom and then press space and start to type in the block that you want to fill

It in with so for example i want to fill this in with dirt i’ve typed d-i-r i’ve got minecraft colon dirt right there i press enter and bang that’s filled up that entire cube with minecraft dirt so i don’t have to worry about falling down a hole

And if any of you know me you’ll know that falling down a hole is something i could do professionally and as with most of these commands you can take it one step further if you want to remove a huge number of blocks you can just replace them with air

By typing slash fill the area that you want to fill up and just put air as the replacement block and that will give you a big hole but you can get just a little bit more specific than that if you want to you can remove just a certain type of

Block from an area rather than all of them and you do that with exactly the same command slash fill i’m gonna select an entire chunk two two three seventy minus two two five two oh eight one minus two forty that is a huge cuboid filling up an entire chunk above the ground

I’m going to put air but i want to replace the certain block with air and i’m going to start with grass block and if i click that now all of those grass blocks will be removed from that chunk now i can repeat this process by removing the dirt

So if i then put in dirt that will remove all the dirt and then i can carry on doing that and remove let’s say the stone and that will remove all of the stone from that chunk as well it leaves diorite it leaves granite it allows us to look

Right down inside this chunk and there are all kinds of things going on you can see the oars are exposed you can see all the diorite and the granite is exposed and you can get right down to bedrock because the bedrock will still be there as well now let’s say that you’ve built

Something relatively complicated and you want to repeat the pattern going up or down or across you basically want to copy something over but you’ve not got world edit which is really easy to copy things over in you’ve only got standard minecraft well that’s no problem because you can use a different command

For that now i have got an extremely complicated build here yeah really really complicated but i want to copy it over and over again on top of each other i can do this really very very easily by doing slash clone and then type in the box that encompasses the whole of

That build so the bottom left corner with the far top right corner so i’ve entered the three dimensional coordinates of the two corners the bottom left and the far top right and then i want to place them back down and i need to do it on the second set of coordinates

Being my reference point so this is going to be 40 and it needs to go one above the highest point so this is 69 because the previous highest point is 68 and then space minus 308 so that will place the exact same shape on the top most corner

Across there and you can see we’ve got another level i could just do that again and i could perhaps turn that to 71 and that would then place another level on top and i can continue to clone that up and clone that up alternatively i can move it across by

Changing those x and y and clone it anywhere else i’d like literally copy paste sometimes in minecraft it’s really good to give yourself a magical effect the kind of effect you would have if you were drinking a potion and you can do this through a command as well so slash effect

And it’s give and then whoever it is you want to give it to for example me and let’s go with night vision night vision is quite useful if you want to be building in caves especially if you’re making videos and things like that and you don’t want

To be taking the potion hit that and you can see i’ve got the particle effect starting to come off me and i’ve got the night vision effect if i press e you can see i only have it for 30 seconds but what if you want it

For more than 30 seconds well you can do that as well through a command and like everything you measure it in game ticks and one game tick is 1 20th of a second do exactly the same command but then follow it up with a certain number so maybe ten

Thousand so that would be ten thousand game ticks very very nearly half of the minecraft day and boom i have got that night vision effect and if i press e you can see i’ve got star star star star because that is going to be going now for 10

000 game ticks now if you want to get rid of those effects just slash effect clear and bang all the effects are gone in minecraft you are the master of the block so it makes sense that you’d be able to give yourself those blocks as well so with slash

Give and whoever it is you want to give it to doesn’t have to be you you could give yourself anything you like let’s say for example i want to give myself a diamond block so if i come along here bang diamond block and there it is in my inventory

A diamond block and that could be true of a command block an acacia boat and if you really wanted to you could even give yourself some right though i don’t know why you’d want to do that our last command is quite a cheeky one now i want to go

And enchant something but i can’t i’ve got no experience and as you know in minecraft you need experience to be able to ensure and you need 30 levels of experience to be able to enchant anything to the maximum level but all is not lost you can do this with

Commands if you want to speed up this process slash xp add and again whoever it is you want to give it to it doesn’t have to be you and then however many things you want to give so 30 let’s say levels and bang i’ve given myself instantly 30 levels of experience now

You don’t have to give yourself levels you can also give yourself points so again slash give but if i changed 30 levels to 300 points that will give myself 300 experience orbs and bang 300 experience orbs by the way when you’re at level 30 only gets you up to 32 and a half

As you get higher the more experience orbs you need to go up more levels i hope that you found that little tour around the basic commands in minecraft really useful maybe you knew all of them maybe you didn’t know any of them at all come on be honest did you really know
