How To Use The New Composter In Minecraft

All right welcome to a new snapshot for Minecraft might as well start with a campfire because you can already see it they listened to me specifically I was told by the Mojang itself that because of my feedback they changed the model for the campfire so that it looks more

Realistic with logs stacked on top of each other it was only me and no one else’s feedback nor was it ever planned before I had said in the last video that I thought the model looked a little bit basic and now they have adjusted and it’s fantastic I’m being slightly

Sarcastic but it does look nice this is exactly what I would have wanted it to look like when I was saying it last time some nice three-dimensional looking logs stacked on top of each other they also added a sound so it sounds like a campfire there you go maybe you heard

Some of that took a moment before it have a little camera-shy you know anyway so campfire looks better now totally stoked on how that is next up we got a new block it’s not the biggest snapshot this week but I still figured it was worth pointing out

Because I think this block is great in concept it’s called the composter and the way you make it is with some fences and some planks so you can just throw it on and here like so and there you go yourself a composter that’s what it looks like when you place it down right

Now this one is empty but it accepts various organic items in order to fill it up here if you they work on it they vary not all food works like you can’t throw in pork and beef and and chicken and all that stuff but you can throw in

And say like some potatoes and I’m gonna switch back into survival so that you can see the counts actually go down so I click in there I think the first time you click it always adds a little layer in the bottom there but then on sequential clicks it doesn’t always

Continue to fill the thing up so like you saw how I clicked a couple times and then all right so it’s filled up I click one more time and boom I get a bone meal potato appears to be like pretty efficient at least relative to wheat

Seeds so it just assigns every type of organic item a value internally and then like based upon how what that value is that’s how many non effective clicks you can have with that item before it registers another layer in there even though it takes the item away

From you every time but potatoes seem to be pretty good and then once you get the white across the top the next click gives you a bone meal so it’s nice and concept the problem I have with it is like wheat seeds here which is kind of

What you end up with the biggest excess of all right let’s see how long it’s gonna take for me to fill this thing up if I even am going to with the stack here right okie dokie I don’t think it’s gonna be filled up okay so we’ve just gone through an

Entire stack of seeds and I’m like the four out of seven I believe the thing has seven layers before you get bonemeal back so need more wheat seeds even boy oh boy maybe this one will make a difference it didn’t what do you know so carrots we’ll just we’ll follow up with

Some carrots carrots are a little bit better potatoes are a little bit better the problem is usually you want to eat those and you don’t just want to put them towards getting more bone meal so that’s my issue with it is that it’s not very economical it’s useful for peaceful

Because you’re not gonna run into any skeleton so if you’re playing like a peaceful world then this is one of the best ways that you’ll be able to get bone meal because otherwise you have to dig around and hope that you find a fossil let’s be honest that’s that’s

Pretty rare to have happen so it’s it’s a little bit better for everything except wheat seeds and cake for example is a guaranteed every time you click with cake it just take my word for it I’m meant to being creative there every time you click with cake it adds a

Layer there are a few exceptions though that don’t actually compost you can’t accidentally throw an enchanted golden apple in there which i think is good it would be kind of a heartbreaking thing if you accidentally clicked on your composter while you had an enchanted golden apple in your hand and you fed

The composter it’d be like that one time in a UHC where when it was pause and pause fed a horse and enchanted golden apple you also can’t do with a golden apple probably good too the one that’s a bummer is you can’t throw rotten flesh in there and I think that would be

You can’t do anything with rotten flesh right now yeah sure you can eat it but it kind of sucks so this would be a great thing to be able to contribute rotten flesh to that would be just a huge help and Mojang if you hear me if

You listen to this rotten flesh let it be compostable and I feel like the seeds should be rebalanced a little bit because I don’t know if it takes anything more than like ten seeds to get a bone meal back even so even with like seven seeds even if it was like cake

It’s still a lot just to get one bone meal don’t you think I don’t know I feel like with like with a composter isn’t it about leaving items in there for a certain amount of time and then you get back fertilizer after it’s sat for a

While so maybe it’s a length of time thing versus consuming so many resources you could put a bunch of compost barrels you’ll leave it in there for a little while and then it turns into bone meal it’s more of a time thing rather than amount of items just my feedback it seems like

It could use a little bit of rebalancing but maybe they’re planning on it just like they rework the texture on the campfire they might rework the balance on on the composter so I have hope it just seems a little bit unbalanced right now you even throw cactus in it though that’s it’s
