Minecraft 1.16 Nether Update Fix Resource Pack Hi I’m George and in this special video I’ll be showing you the things to check if your Minecraft bedrock resource pack isn’t working or loading properly now I’ll be going through several different steps you mainly need to check all of these so I have a list of time stamps in The description so take a look at the description and you’ll see all the different sections of this then check the ones that you think you may be having problems with I always recommend starting off with a brand new vanilla resource pack just in case minecraft has changed things and they’re doing little Updates all the time you’ll find this at minecraft net and the link is right up here I’ll put it on the screen for you I’ll also put a link right in the description so you can just click on that link and go right to this page now To find that download just scroll down ignore all this stuff and look for this little paragraph right here you want the link right there that says resource packs now you want to also download this straight brand-new folder on your hard drive so make a new folder first and you Have your new folder all set to go then download the resource pack just click on that it’s gonna bring up the download window and you can then find your location that you just made on your computer and I have mine just back up one step here there we go it’s called it New folder just make it easy and click Save and I’ll load it right into that location can then go back and take a look at that in that folder and there it is there’s of course the new folder I need to unzip this use any program you Want to unzip it doesn’t matter I’ll just right-click on this and I can do extract all and there we go let it go ahead and finish off this unzip and there we go there is the new unzip pack let’s go ahead and open this one up now In here you want to get rid of the stuff that you’re not going to be using in most cases we’ll be working with the textures and that’s right there so just keep that one if you’re doing sounds you want to have the sounds fuller everything else can pretty much go all The way so I’ll just use the ctrl key here I’ll click on all of this stuff right click and let’s delete all of that this is just optimizing this file so it will run faster alright now I don’t need that one so I’ll just click on delete And I don’t want the UI either I’ll just delete that one as well okay now inside of here if you’re working with sounds only keep the sounds that you’re working with and delete everything else keep these two files down here but delete anything else that you’re not working with so if you’re Working with mobs for instance there’s the mobs delete everything else just simplify this as much as possible if you’re working in textures same thing applies only include the textures that you’re actually working on in most cases that’s going to be in the blocks right here there it is so pretty much that’s What you want to be keeping now if you’re going to be working on one of the mobs or on your skin that’s gonna be in the entity one right here same thing again delete the ones that you’re not working on and only leave the ones that you’re working on that’s going to be Optimizing the resource pack let’s say I’m working inside of blocks and nothing else I’ll just get rid of everything else in here I’ll also get rid of that I don’t need that or that and then right-click and delete all that stuff let’s now go back to the regular folder Right here and and here there’s one thing you need to work with mess this manifest.json file first off if you’re not seeing the extensions in here go up to view and make sure this is check right there filing them extensions very important that that is checked when you’re working with your resource packs Okay I have mine set to open up inside of Windows notepad you can do that by right-clicking and come down here and do open with and then where it says more apps click on that and scroll down until you find notepad and mine’s already set That so it’s okay now in here there are two things that you have to fix and that’s these two UUID codes there’s one right here and there’s one right down here you can change the descriptions if you want to that’s right here and that’s right here that’s up to you you can Change the name if you want to right here that’s up to you but these UID codes need to be changed now you get this code it’s a special code and you get this from a special website it’s free to get no big deal let me bring That website up there we go it’s called the online UID generator and you want the version four you can see right there version for EU ID for not seeing version four here just click on the version or tab right there now you want to use This coat I always refresh just to be on the safe side click on the refresh button let that change click on copy and it’ll go back to our manifest file right here select the code in between those quotation marks right click and paste there’s our first one go back and do it Again so refresh wait for it to change there it is click on copy go back to your manifest file and then come down to the same thing with a second one down here inside of those quotes right click and paste and then choose save that’s everything taking care for your basic Resource pack that’s all now set to go now the next thing you need to do is you need to combine all this stuff together into a new zip file so just grab everything in here just select it like this right click and then convert this To a zip now I happen to like using 7-zip you can use any other zip program you want to when rar works as well but there’s one thing you need to check no matter what program you’re using is one thing you have to check welcome down Here in 7-zip and choose add to archive and that’s right here the archive format again it doesn’t matter what program you use but make sure the archive format is set to zip that’s the very important part and then appearance gonna change this name here I’ll call this one demo There we go and I’ll zip this one up this will go pretty fast because of course we’ve optimized our pack and removed all things that we didn’t need I left in all those textures and all the sound so be even smaller if I was making This as an actual pack ok there we go there is that zip file demo zip now as one more step make sure you’re seeing the dot zip at the end if you don’t see the dot zip then again go up here to the view and quarry here I mixed have found Them extensions is checked you should then see that dot zip that’s important because we need to change this to dot MC pack so I’ll just delete the zip and type in MC pack there we go in and say ok the reason why you need to see that Dot zip is that this will work properly if you don’t see the dot zip it’s not going to work for you now if you just double click on this this should automatically bring up minecraft and once minecraft gets to the page here you should say import started just like that And then you should see import successful you’ll see that in just moment up here depending upon the size of your resource pack this could go real fast or it could take a little bit longer there we go successfully imported that resource pack so that’s all set to go Now you may or may not see the Minecraft icon right there sometimes I see it sometimes I don’t it’ll either be a zip icon like this one or the minecraft dirt icon one of the other it doesn’t matter at this point everything should work now if anything else is not working it’s Gonna be something inside of the resource pack either your sounds or your textures and not the resource pack itself let’s talk about textures now I’ll go into textures and I have blocks in here and those are all of these say PNG they’re all PNG files and on these The main thing to pay attention to is that these have to be named exactly the same as the one that you’re replacing if you change the name if you put a space in here or you put capital letters on this whatever it’s not going to work so If you change one of your textures make sure that you name it exactly the same as the one that you’re replacing let’s go back to sounds if you’re working with music you’re going to have to set up a new folder for the music I talked about How to do that overall my video on how to do music files background music and discs for Minecraft but you need to make sure you set up the correct music folder for that and the correct folder structure I talked about that in that video and the other thing you need to be Careful with when you’re working with sounds is that you name the files correctly and also they can convert those files properly to the dog formats go back and take a look at that yeah my music right here there we go here is my music folder and here’s the records so It has to be named correctly in this case I’m just replacing that 13 record and the dot o GG you have to convert to dot J using a sound editing program I happen like using audacity let’s go back into our new folder here and there we go And one more thing if you’re working with an icon file you want to have your own icon that’s this file right here same thing this is just a PNG file I happen to like using 256 by 256 as my size if you’re using your own icon image in here Just make sure the name is exactly like the name here PAC underscore icon dot PNG and then this include that in your resource pack I’ll notice here that the our demo pack change the icon it’s now showing the Wregget of dirt icon again I’ve seen it Both ways it’s now showing the dirt icon and that’s just fine okay I switch back over to Minecraft and it’s take a look at making this active and also how to take it out again if you want to go back and make changes okay here we are on the Title page the first thing we need to do is to go into settings right here and inside settings we’re going to have to activate that noop axis scroll down left hand side will say global resources right here click on that and in my packs you’re going to see your new pack it Should be at the top there it is notice that I didn’t change my icon for this I’m still using the original icon click on this and click activate it’ll then go away from here and you should now see it up in the active section there it is right there Okay we’ve activated that resource pack alright that’s the first puts it has to be activated let that load and thus loads it into the game’s what’s available to use in your worlds we now need to make it active in our specific world so click on play this is them Bring up our list of worlds to choose here we go here’s my main one I’m working with right now so go over here to the right-hand side click on that pencil this opens up this new set of options scroll down here where it says resource packs click on That you should see it down here in my packs there it is click activate and then double check it should be up in your active packs right there and then let’s go back you can then play the game once it’s loads in that new resource pack now let’s say you wanted to change That resource pack you have to delete this resource pack properly first from this screen right here click about pencil again and then we’re back in our options for the world click on resource packs go back into active up here click on this resource pack and click Deactivate and it comes down to the my packs section ok so go ahead and back out of here then close this window right there come down to settings same thing come down here to the global resources go back up to active open this up and under your resource pack right here Click on deactivate you can close it down just can double check it should be down here now in my packs ok now come down to storage down here and in here you’re looking at your resource packs right here click on this one and look for your resource pack there it is That’s what I’m we just did click on the – can and delete it then deletes that out of the game once that’s done you can go back and you can re-edit your textures whatever then just redo it from that point and there we are that’s done Okay it’s now go back and talk about music files sound files just for a moment and that’s right here now there are two things that happen if you put in a music disc one you’ll be hearing the original music and not your new music or two you won’t be hearing any music at All now the first case if you’re hearing the original music and not your new music then double-check your folder structure that should be sounds music game records and then your record goes in here or if you’re working for your background music it goes from the background music folder and I show all Of that of course in my video on doing that but check your folder structure make sure that’s correct okay the second thing to check is your file down here when you convert this make sure that you’re seeing that extension before you do your conversion it’s gonna be saying Mp3 or whatever you’re using before you convert through the OGG format if you’re not seeing that if you’re seeing it like this you’re just seeing the name down here don’t type in dot on if you do let me show you what you’ll be getting I’m just gonna go ahead and do that right Now there we go it looks correct but it’s not correct if I show the filename extensions again so we’re gonna be having dot odd-odd ok scope clicking find them extensions like that and you get this thing in here and that’s not going to work so make sure that found in Extensions is selected if you’re noting that here it’s under the View tab right there make sure that’s showing and then make sure that it just has one dot aughh on there and again to double check that you need to have this checked right here okay that should then play just fine if It’s not playing anything at all that’s most likely the problem right there or a couple of other problems that might happen one is use an online app to convert from mp3 to dog format I’ve seen lots of problems with online apps I don’t happen to like using them I always Use audacity it always works and it’s free and there’s a link for audacity right there I’ll put that link in the description as well just go ahead and download that free program that’s all you need for editing your sound files now the other thing that could happen again is if your No file has a problem if you’re downloading an mp3 file you can work to aughh even using audacity and it still doesn’t work the problem might be your mp3 download er is messing up mp3 can have several different settings I try the different settings or also try using Different download apps to download your file some of them work some of them don’t work the kind of a lot of problems with those so if it’s not working just try a different downloader that may solve the problem if you liked this video you hit that like button click on Share click on
