I Built a MOVING Ship in Minecraft Vanilla

Well…build a pirate ship. But there was one small 𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘺 little insignificant issue. I had no idea how to do that… But luckily for me… I have a secret internet hacking device that lets me steal anyone else’s creation for my own. *pop* I made this 🙂

But seriously though, thank you Lord Dakr for the ship building tutorial. So now that I had our pirate ship built I just needed to make it move, and that’s the easy part, right? Well, this would normally be the easy part with the /clone command, but there’s another tiny little issue…

The clone command can only copy 32,768 blocks at a time and this ship is… *echoey voice* a little bit more than that. Now, I know what you’re thinking… *nerd voice* Mysty, why don’t you just build a smaller pirate ship? 🤓 No! (=^･ω･^=) You see, small boat equal boring, gross, yucky,

But BIG boat equals very cool, like me 😎 The way I decided to go about this was by slicing the boat up into smaller segments and copying each one of them individually. This way none of the pieces have too many blocks for the command.

So I sliced up the ship into three smaller pieces and I made three command blocks where each one has the coordinates of one slice of the ship. Which meant it was time for our first test… Let’s move far away from the command blocks so we don’t break anything…

And if we turn them on… they should make a duplicate of the pirate ship right here. Wait, did it work first try? There’s no way I got that first try. Is anything wrong? This looks right! Well, there we go! So now that I could clone the pirate ship anywhere I wanted,

I needed it to happen every single time I moved. We change this to a repeating command block… and we set the thing in front of it to redstone… that should be all we need to do. So let’s try this again… I think it’s working! My computer is getting very loud

But I guess that makes sense? I think it worked! So now that I had the bare minimum of a drivable pirate ship, there were three things left to add to make it perfect. One, make the ship turn to follow which direction we’re facing, Two, make the cannons fire custom explosions,

I decided to start with making the ship turn. So here we have four duplicates of the pirate ship, you can kinda see the last one up there. These four lines of command blocks, depending on which direction we’ll face, will copy whichever one of these pirate ships matches our direction,

And paste it over there. So, I gave it another test… and um… I think it’s safe to say that the test was unsuccessful! My math was way off. But luckily, that was a pretty easy fix. I mean, it was very tedious, but it was pretty easy. Attempt number two… Okay it’s moving…

We’ll turn. It looks right to me. Turn right… and these should be the same. And we should have a fully working pirate ship! (=ↀωↀ=) I did get it working, but there was one small issue I forgot about. If I turn on the ship real quick… and I turn to the side…

You may notice there’s still a big chunk of ship here because nothing got rid of this. We just pasted a new one in the middle of it. But luckily, there was a simple fix… all I needed to do was paste empty water space on each side of the ship,

And that should fix all these issues. I finished it. It’s been like maybe, two hours, or so? So let’s fly back over here… I may have had a mistake… let’s fly back over here again. Alright, let’s turn it on. We can turn the ship…

All I had to do was make the custom explosives. We can obviously just fill the dispensers with fireballs, which would work fine, but I want to make them a bit more… exciting.（ꏿ ω ꏿ） Something most people don’t know is that the fireball graphic can secretly be set to any item in the game.

For example, we can change this from dirt to maybe… grass? And it’s just the weird grass texture. *Mysty imitating cannonball* Nyoooooom…pew What’re some weird ones? Maybe like… end crystal? That probably l- oh it’s just the held one. That’s so weird! Y’know what, let’s go to our resource packs Let’s put on no fire.

I liked the idea of just using a block of TNT that launches at them, which is pretty cool. But I also think… coal block looks a lot like a cannonball. That really looks like a cannonball to me.

And y’know what… explosion power ten. Let’s see what that does. *cannonball explodes* Oh jeez… *Mysty laughs* Yeah, I think this is the one for us. So now that I built a pirate ship, made it move, made it turn, and gave it custom explosive projectiles, the only thing left was to prank my friends.
