I Made FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN’ In MINECRAFT….

Hello everyone i made friday night funkin inside of minecraft without using any mods this has got to be my biggest project yet here’s how i did it before i started in my head i split this project into three main parts the gameplay mechanics the music and making

Everything look pretty so i created a new super flat world with the intention of creating gameplay mechanics first i had a vague plan on how i wanted the game to work have items rising up in four different places and once the items had reached a certain height you had to

Press a button that matched with the item you might be thinking to yourself this seems really complicated how is he gonna do all of this well command blocks command blocks basically allow you to run tiny bits of code when activated so i started off by trying to

Make the arrows the way i wanted the arrows to work was to have an armor stand holding an item with the levitation potion effect so it floats up then i could make the armor stand invisible so it looked like an item was just floating and after a little bit of

Work i made this system that detects when an armor stand is one block below this cobblestone i made it so that arrow would spawn above the armor stand destroying it when it got close to the cobblestone i repeated this so when arrow spawns if you press a button and

The armor stand is next to a diamond block the red block’s meant to be the mist though the diamond blocks meant to be the input zone and the armor stands meant to be the arrows so i made the armor stand invisible so you could only see the item but unfortunately this made

The armor stand invulnerable as well so the arrows didn’t destroy it thankfully i was easily able to fix this by using a targeted slash kill command for armor stands with those certain coordinates and here’s how it looks when you press a button and here’s how it

Looks when you miss the button some of you might have noticed that there’s only one column at the moment so i decided to make three different columns using six different blocks for detection and i pretty much just copied over all of the code for the first column for the other

Three only changing some blocks items and coordinates but anyway here’s how it looks with the new items they look a bit funny now but later i’m going to be retexturing them into arrows another thing i wanted to change was how you activate the notes i just really didn’t

Like the way it felt to press the buttons so i changed the input system to be pressure plates on the floor when you step on the pressure plate you get teleported back to the middle and if there’s an arrow in the correct place that gets hit as well but i found that

There was another big problem with using pressure plates you see pressure plates have a slight cooldown between each use so you could easily fall off the platform so i removed the pressure plates and decided to make it so that it detects when players are on top of lime

Purple red and light blue wool this works in pretty much the exact way as the pressure plates except there’s no cool down and it doesn’t make a stupid annoying noise like the pressure plates i also copied over everything i did to the other side of the stage like in

Friday night funkin and then started playing around with different particle effects that would appear when you hit an arrow i decided to go with the glow squidding and i’ve got to say it really adds some impact to the game you also might have thought to yourself that it

Looks a bit odd with random floating items going up and to fix that i downloaded a copy of the default texture pack opened up the diamond texture in photoshop and then tried drawing my own pixelated arrow and to say the very least my arrow looked terrible so i

Decided to just replace it with the pixelated arrow from friday night pumpkins week six and i repeated this for the emerald gold and iron ingot textures as well and here’s how it looks with the textures applied i’ve got to say they look really good and really enhance the feeling of the game i’m

Really happy with them i also gave myself some invisible item frames so i could add some arrow indicators which i also retextured to be the grey pixelated arrows from week six and with all the arrows done i decided to finally build up the stage a bit i tried my best to

Make it look like the stage from friday night funk in week one and it turned out pretty good in my opinion and in case you’re wondering how i built this up so quickly i used a plugin called world edit just to speed stuff up a bit i also

Used the replay mod so i could make time lapses like this i also added the curtains from week one as well they look a bit funny i’m not quite happy with them but they’ll do and lastly i added a roof to the room and here’s how it looks inside

Oh wait it’s really dark so i found out about these blocks called the light blocks which i hadn’t heard of before basically they’re like torches but invisible so i placed a few of them around to brighten the place up and that was the stage pretty much done now time

To move on to making the boyfriend and his opponent i wanted the boyfriend to do different animations depending on what arrow was hit and i thought i could do this by swapping out different armor stands dressed up as the boyfriend to give the illusion of movement so i found

This website that allows you to take custom heads and put them into your world using commands and of course on that website there were a load of different heads based on the boyfriend so i took the one i liked the most and copy pasted it into an armor

Stand maker website and this armor stand maker website allowed you to customize the armor stand fully so using this i made four different poses for the boyfriend one for each directional pose and one idle pose and with a little bit more command block programming i was

Able to make it so that the boyfriend appeared on stage and moved with each arrow press and for the boyfriend’s opponent i decided to make it jared the alien but at this point i really couldn’t be bothered making more custom armor stand poses so i decided to

Make jawad the alien not move at all but at this point i had most of the features of the game done all i needed to add now was some music and a custom chart and luckily for me minecraft has these special blocks the note blocks that allow you to play different piano notes

And using note blocks along with repeaters allows you to make custom songs inside of minecraft you can also change the instrument of the node block by changing the block underneath them so i started work on trying to recreate beep bop bow from friday night funkin in minecraft using note blocks and this

Took absolutely ages what i did to make this was copy a piano tutorial from youtube and then convert each note into a note block i also had command blocks that spawned arrows running at the same time as the note blocks i did this so the arrows would go along with the song

Anyway here’s how the start of the song sounds not bad and that was the game pretty much done i just wanted to add a few final twitches like a starting room a fail mechanic and some different particles i also surrounded some areas in barrier blocks so the player couldn’t

The moment you have to be a bit early you have to be a bit more early than they are actually are And that’s it this has taken me ages if enough people ask for a download to the world and the texture pack i’ll put in the description it would be interesting to see like what kind of custom things people can make with it and it’s quite easily customizable i’ll leave some
