Hey everyone Steve’s back now obviously we all know and love the classic Minecraft animations but we have to agree that while some of the animations hold the level of nostalgia for us they’re just not necessarily the greatest for like example this creeper doesn’t exactly look like he’s creeping And the squid should definitely not be moving like this on dry ground of course we still love Minecraft and these animations are very dear to us but doesn’t mean that we could have some fun making better Minecraft animations and that’s what we’re going to be doing today not only animating but also adding Some Advanced simulations using Manta flow and blender on top of these animations because why not but first guys I’ve never been more excited to tell you about a sponsor for a video this one is pretty insane especially if you like super computers destroying benchmarks and that sponsor would be Kamino they sent over The Grando RM they’re custom built fully water cooled workstation this computer is a beast even Linus from LTT crowned it the god of computers and you’ll see why it comes with a threadripper 3970x 32 core 64 red CPU packed with 256 gigabytes of RAM and A whopping 4 RTX 3090s making this like an unbelievably fast personal render farm at home I mean take a look at these benchmarks and trust me it’s fast now what’s most impressive is the massive water cooling Loop that keeps these gpus running cool around 50 degrees Celsius Under full load on average around 20 degrees cooler than the stock RTX 3090 and as you might guess this kicks off a lot of heat which as some of you know I actually live in a Northern climate where there’s some really long cold Winters so this is actually kind of Awesome because while rendering I literally don’t have to do any other form of heating source for my 20 by 20 Studio here if you’re interested in Camino’s custom built water cooled workstations check out the first link in the video description I also want to share some of this insane rendering Power with you guys so if you have scenes or animations that you’re not able to render on your current Hardware send them over to me with the email address down in the description and just give your email a title of Steve please render this and in the next few days I’ll happily be rendering animations for you guys so without further Ado let’s get started making some Minecraft animations let’s start with the most classic Minecraft mob the creeper oh man no offense to the creeper but the animations are just kind of boring right now and doesn’t exactly Look he’s creeping I mean come on he’s a creeper so my first attempt kind of went not really creeping and more like hopping like a bunny here and uh not really sure why it was just the first experiment to play around with the model which I did get most of these models From sketchfab and I’ll put some links in the description if you guys want to download these Minecraft models as well we’re gonna start keyframing some well key poses in this animation sequence and if what I’ve learned is best is that you really can’t exaggerate these poses too Much and that’s something I see a lot of beginners make a mistake of is they’re afraid to push their animations to exaggerated holy cow fly what the heck with character animation and cartoons especially you can push these exaggerated poses pretty much as far as you want if you’re interested in getting Started with beginner character animation I do have a tutorial up there for that yep another thing to improve your animations is fast and slow motions I think beginners often kind of animate all the characters at the same speed and it’s kind of plain and boring so yeah Kind of quick and then fast motions and in the end here’s what I came up with for a creeping creeper animation tell me that doesn’t look more like green pen then I went ahead and added a simulation to this creeper because as we all know creepers are short fused and Blow very easily so I thought this one might be kind of flaming smoking for this to use the pretty basic blender smoke simulation adding just two force fields to kind of control the way the smoke moved one being a turbulence force field and a second one being a force Field kind of pulling the smoke behind him a little bit because I want to make it look like he’s moving then I just crank the resolution and the noise detail really high in the simulation because when you have a monster workstation you better be putting it to Work then for the material this is one that I taught how to create on the channel when creating flames it’s also very similar to the Wisp fire Shader available on the blender Market which for the sake of convenience is what I actually just quickly used for this Material and here’s what it looked like with the finished fire and smoke simulation so it was kind of fun to see what a Minecraft character looks like with more realistic fire simulations now we’re on to the next Minecraft character that one being another classic the Enderman what Should we say Ender woman okay so my first thought for going about animating the Ender person which was that this character actually seems pretty fit and slim and I kind of imagined walking or strutting sort of like a supermodel so I wasted no time in getting to work Animating some key poses for this one as well now there’s a lot of hip swing in the supermodel walk as well as their feet always kind of crossing over one another and one of the challenges is that you’re only working with these basic shapes I didn’t want to go bending These shapes I kind of kept it more in the Minecraft vein where you’re not adding any more geometry to these bottles so here is our Ender woman catwalk animation foreign give this one its own simulation as well that’s what I thought it might be kind of cool and like Moody Stylistics to be Giving off sort of that dry ice effect where the smoke is like falling down really fast so to achieve this effect in blender under the gas settings in the domain I turn the density and the heat way down to a negative number so it’s basically pulling the smoke downward I Then also used another force field this one A Little Bit Stronger right underneath the Enderman to pull all of that smoke down and then use the fluorescent collisions so that smoke will kind of come down and then billow out And there’s our Hindu woman okay some of you might be wondering what’s this unique looking monitor behind me this is actually the new LG dual up it’s essentially two 16×9 monitors on top of each other which is kind of super useful actually and I’ve been enjoying using it Quite a bit if you want to learn more about the LG dual up there’ll also be a link in the video description so for our third Minecraft animation this one goes out to the poor squid which currently actually doesn’t have unique animation when it’s outside of the water as you Can see this is what it does and that’s totally unrealistic so we can do better this one I couldn’t find a squid model that’s already rigged so I had to go about rigging it myself if you guys are interested in the tweaks and customized models that I used for the video I’m Including them all in the Blended format as they download over on patreon for all of my members you guys are freaking awesome now for this animation I already had the simulation in the back of my mind that I wanted to do that’s one of those where you see those 3D animations And their animation is just generating all kinds of water as they’re moving around and it interacts with the simulation it’s just really cool looking so we’re going about animating the squid now I kind of want to make sure that whatever it was doing would be kind of throwing his limbs around and splashing The water that I’d be adding afterwards anyways that was the gist of it so after playing around with some keyframing for a while this is the animation I came up with and that looks pretty good and there was definitely enough movement there now to add the fluid simulation to it so using Blender’s Manta flow fluid simulator I went ahead and made the squid mesh an inflow source of fluid so it’s basically constantly adding fluid to the scene I also went ahead and enabled spray particles and rendered these as tiny little icospheres on the fluid to add some Splash effects when our squid Tentacles are again kind of throwing water around so I put it over on our custom built render Farm workstation and baked out a high quality stimulation with that said here is our Minecraft squid fluid animation foreign with fluid simulations and blender and I’ll never stop doing it on this channel So there you have it guys three new reimagined Minecraft animations if there’s a Minecraft character that you think I should make new animations for let me know in the comment section below I actually rented all three of these animations out at the same time on the grondo RM workstation ahead and going in Three different blender instances all using a separate dedicated RTX 3090 and then with that fourth GPU I was actually rendering benchmarks even with these Advanced simulations render time was on average only around 20 seconds per frame and rendering all three of these animations at the same time only took About an hour so that’s how much you can throw at the workstation and it handled it all super fast so don’t forget to check out the Camino Grande RM with link in the video description some of their other crazy cool custom built water cooled workstations destroy that like Button if you want more Minecraft content in the future that’s new for me guys peace out Video Information
