Unlimited volume for game space and exploration potential is borderline stubborn but that indignant persistence ends up creating so many useful interesting and beautiful accomplishments that stand on their own merits inside or outside the cultural context of minecraft i’ve always considered build the earth to be the largest project in minecraft

Uncontestably the project with the largest end goal unless a coalition gets together with the idea of fully civilizing an entire minecraft map file which for context is 60 million meters wide on both sides for additional context a minecraft world is so large the entire earth in minecraft one to one

It’s a clue to greenfield’s past two thousand years ago the roman empire fell not to political instability but to a virus that created a zombie apocalypse in the ancient human world that wiped out most of human civilizations save for the smallest of enclaves since the zombie virus never made it to north

America when people managed to reach north america all tribes from north america to aztec and southward were told of what lay beyond the sea so europeans and natives worked together to create impenetrable civilizations that would repel the walking corpses should any of them ever arrive in america of course

Eventually once they did there were so many people around the continent that the virus engulfed the bulk of the continent into a zombie horde and only the most prepared defensive enclaves survived one of them in california grew into the city of greenfield that we know today and would explain the hard borders

Protecting the city but yeah that’s not greenfield’s story either like the city itself the history of greenfield is realistic feeling like the history of an american city with arrivals at the end of the 1700s with development in the next 100 years a huge boom as the world gets connected better through technology

And then the advent of modern politics in combination with the stir-crazy nature of people experiencing a life without struggle and hardship leading to the breakdown of society and a brief period of chaos followed by political reform to get back to some semblance of its golden age but the question remains

Is greenfield the largest project in minecraft we can use new york our most completed city so far as a comparison point first their size and dimensions are actually quite similar i actually thought new york was going to be much bigger but if you just focus on our portion of manhattan island they’re both

Around 8 000 blocks in length now if you add all this in new york to the proportions it blows greenfield away but based on how the majority of that is unfinished shells it would be unfair to count it our in-progress one-to-one scale replica of new york has over 20

000 completed buildings while greenfield estimates 8 000. but the real possible tiebreaker here that i see is that greenfield is pretty much continuous completed terrain for its entire mass while new york’s mass is littered with unfinished shells in almost every area with the exception of a few fully

Completed districts but that’s not all greenfield has a key component that makes any present advantage new york may have in any given area completely irrelevant it’s 8 000 buildings all have totally decked out finished interiors detailed interiors with care and a story to every building as opposed

To new york which so far amounts to a massive outdoor urban jungle gym for this reason i determined that greenfield takes the cake and is larger in achievement than any single city and build the earth so while greenfield may not win the day in a comparison between

First ever urban biome a city that just never ends like coruscant but it looks like 20th century north american city landscape until all of the untamed chaos of minecraft terrain is consumed by an all-consuming artifact of order never ceasing in its uninterrupted pristine city landscape that continues and reigns
