I’m creating a Minecraft server! (Inspired by Hypixel)

Hello! You know what I’ve always wanted to do? Make a Minecraft server. No this time it’ll be different. Custom   plugins. With a couple of lines of  code, I can make anything I want! Y E S Hypixel is a big server. Like really big.  If every one of my subscribers made seven  

Minecraft accounts and joined my server, we  still wouldn’t have as many players as there   are on Hypixel today. That’s a lot of players,  and if I were to try to compete with them,   I’d get destroyed. So instead of doing that,  I’m going to make my own custom minigames for  

My server that are different than the ones  on Hypixel like Bed Wars. There’s only one   problem with this amazing plan. I have  no idea how to make Minecraft plugins. Luckily, I was able to get up and running  fairly quickly thanks to this amazing  

Tutorial by Legitimoose. “You will end  up banging your head against the wall.”   UH OH… I actually took a quick look around  the rest of his channel, and he’s got some…   pretty interesting content. “I gotta eat this  fat bowl of corn flakes wooOOOwoOOOO”

While I set up this brand new plugin let’s talk  about my first mini game idea. Survival Games   but with magic! Along with regular items  like swords, food, and armor my game will   have magical items like pixie dust that lets you  fly around and spells that you can use to attack  

Other players and defend yourself. As always: last  player standing wins! Okay so remember the part   of the tutorial where Legitimoose said: “Java is  janky and weird” Well it turns out he was right… Anyway, it’s working now! Now, I can add in my own custom items which: Do things when you click on them,

Have cooldowns on their special abilities, *noice*   have rarities like Common, Uncommon, and Rare, and have a random power level from Weak  to Powerful they’ll control how effective the   spell is. Now all that’s left to do is add  in the first item. I can do that by… *unintelligible modmonster noises* And we’re done!

Light beam, go! Okay. Now that the first spell is working, it’s  time to make the first map, but I suck at building so… Make new world. Fly to random spot in world. Set world border to be really small.   Welcome to Forest. (That’s literally what the map  is called). Village.  

Here in Forest we have: Village. Ruined portal. Watchtower. Jungle. And best of all: [[ F R O G P O N D ]] While I was working on the map, I came up with a lot more ideas for spells to add,

And I’m gonna try to add them now but I’ll probably fail a lot because Java SUCKS With a bunch of new spells created and ready to use, it’s time to focus on something pretty important. It’s time to actually turn this from just a bunch  

Of magic items into a fully fledged game mode for  other people to play. It’s time for a [[ CODING MONTAGE ]] omg modmonster such good ha3kr And here we are! I’ve coded some amazing  features like: Joining games! Leaving games! Starting games! Filling the chests with random loot!

I have literally no idea how this code works So you know how in Minecraft  you can: Take sword, take book, and… *boom* Better sword! Well I took this system to a whole  new level with custom enchantments. Enchanted books  

Will now spawn in chests, and if you take them  to the center of the map you can enchant your   items with the enchanting table. Now I know what  you’re wondering. What genius enchantments did   this handsome gentleman create? *wink* Oh my God I can’t believe I kept that in the script…

Anyway, I created some pretty awesome enchantments, including:   Launching, Zeus’s Fury, and Self Destruction. I’m sure these new enchantments will make the game  very fun, and won’t be overpowered in the slightest! On another note, I added the funniest thing ever  created: Random death messages. ModMonster2015 was brutally throngled by Player

ModMonster2015 was lazily squashed by Player ModMonster2015 was vigorously demolished by Player After all this, I think Magic Wars is finally finished. There’s only one last thing left to do before we can  let the playtesters in. I need to make a lobby

For the server. So I did a little Googling and  found this amazing lobby by Mystery Builds. OUR LOBBY. Eventually, I plan to build my own lobby,  but this will do for now. Well I think that just   about covers it. I’m actually going to be playtesting Magic Wars on Wednesday November 2nd at
