What you need to do before that happens because usually in updates there are just things you can do to make it more convenient but in this update there are actively things that get so much harder that you’d be a fool not to do them right now in fact there’s so many of

These things we’re splitting this video into three categories one is advisories things that will help you out and will guide you through certain features the second is things that will make your life a lot easier if you do them now and the third category is things you’d be an

Absolute fool not to do before 1.20 comes out and you will pay the price speaking of paying the price did you know subscribing costs nothing and also it’s the greatest way to avoid housewife lies insurance companies hate me when I share this one simple stat but seriously

I think subscribing is a great idea to stay up to date with this update and any other ones but let’s actually do this on my real long-term survival world I’ve had this world for 11 years and so these tips are about as solid as they can get

Speaking of solid I think it’s worth mentioning that you want bamboo and you want it now getting bamboo can be a little bit of a pain you’ve got to specifically search jungles and either find the bamboo forest this is your most likely outcome or you can find a jungle

Temple and that is also a pretty good bet but if you can’t find either of these things there’s one last outpost that you have and that is to go ahead and craft yourself a fishing rod this is a deliberate fail safe that Minecraft has if you cannot find a bamboo forest

Anywhere in your world just go fishing in one of these jungle biomes and you’ve got about a one in 110 chance of getting a bamboo as your fishing Loot and having just a single bamboo is all you actually need to be successful because when it finally does all you’re going to want to

Do is bone meal your bamboo and every time you do you can convert that right into more of the bamboo then you can destroy said bamboo using whatever tool you feel like and now you’ve got free bamboo which you can then uh bowmill up themselves and then you can repeat this

So on and so forth over and over again so you have yourself a pretty formidable Manu bamboo Farm I think these are a lot of fun to look up look wow look at this isn’t this incredible uh this is a lot of fun to look at and it’s a great way

To get lots of bamboo very quickly however I’m gonna go ahead and say that for 1.20 getting bamboo by the stack is not going to be useful anymore right now bamboo is just useful as furnace fuel or a way to craft sticks but after the update every four bamboo you’ll have

Will convert directly into one bamboo block so you know just gotta take one little stack of this another stack of that and then another stack over here and now you can get a stack of planks which honestly isn’t very many four stacks of bamboo equals 16 logs and so

You’re going to want bamboo by the inventory load I would say it is 100 worth pursuing an automatic bamboo Farm this is uh the particular way I went with mine I I like it personally uh but you’re 100 going to once you get yourself aboard the bamboo train and I

Don’t think you have to go this insane uh with your bamboo farming you know I I have a problem with farms in Minecraft we all know that uh but I don’t think you have to go that insane with it but in reality you’re going to want to have

Chests and chests and chests and chests full and so the way I’ve got this set up is I’ve got a bunch of plants there is a Observer at the top a piston in the middle and then every time the uh the plant grows so it’s third level it

Knocks all of them down onto this track which is then harvested by Minecarts with hoppersen which you know and do I do I want to make this problem go even faster wow wow I could just craft myself a minecart and then use the minecart that I’ve just crafted to make a

Minecart with hopper and then wow I can send that round to collect all the good things that I want it to this is something that is very look look at that you see the way it’s just all disappearing from the ground that is something you can easily do right now

And if you have a chest full of bamboo you’ll be in a great situation but honestly you might want even more every chest they have that’s full of bamboo is a quarter chest that I can convert into crafting tables and boy doesn’t that sound like a lot of fun speaking of fun

A lot of people are going to have fun with signs after this update because they will be able to be edited I mean right now I made a typo on this one and there’s nothing I can do about it and uh you know speaking of uh signs there’s

Going to be a lot of new signs coming to game altogether there’s bamboo signs there’s the brand new Cherry signs as well as of course the hanging signs for all of these the way you craft a hanging sign is on screen right now and there’s a ingredient in there that let’s be

Honest we barely use for anything else it is the chain and so chains are something that you should craft right now just to save yourself one step of pain after the update comes out of like oh what is a chain crafted from I think it’s an iron nugget and uh maybe I think

It’s like two little bits with an iron bar in between them but I’m not honestly entirely sure so save yourself some effort right now don’t even bother learning the crafting recipe because there’s too many crafting recipes in Minecraft Prof and instead go for a little bit of a journey and you’ll never

Ice path optional obviously come to a Bastion with the caveat that you should not be opening any chest before Minecraft 1.20 that’ll be clear exactly white later in this video find chess but don’t open them now but instead take advantage of the fact that bastions are filled with chains while you’re getting

Those chains you might even get yourself some lovely lanterns which you can re-hang in more convenient places if you want to but you know that’s entirely up to you I’m just here to say that you can find chains fairly readily around this place look how many there are just ready

To be gathered and uh that’s before we talk about the rest of the Bastion right I mean look how many this single Lantern is held up by just remove one of those chains and then uh the rest Splash well there you go the rest slowly comes down

And now assuming it doesn’t fall in lava you’ve got yourself some additional chains this is a much safer way of getting chains than just crafting them in your Overworld trust me when I say that’s the truth back but no more seriously I do recommend coming to one

Of these uh bad boys right here uh it’s a really great structure that’s just filled to the brim with chains and also potential chests you’ll want to find this but we’ll dive into why you should come here and not loot the chest later but now let’s just get out of here with

My sanity intact in this same way I’d also argue it’s worth getting your hands on some brick items because you’ll need these to craft some pots uh you could also make Arguments for slabs or you can make Arguments for finding ocean ruins but not going to the chest for strippers

But I think ultimately the most important ones are bamboo and chains uh or rather you know maybe you could say bamboo and uh bricks are just as important as chains but these are the free ones that like will help you out in 1.20 but you could be totally fine not

Doing them and enjoying doing them right after the update came out but you’d probably kick yourself if you did these things wrong so our second category is going to include the point which is always controversial for an update but which will really help you out and that

Is not to explore your Minecraft world if you don’t know what the world looks like beyond that jungle if you’ve never been there before and no one in your world ever has then you shouldn’t explore for it right now the reason being is that if you explore after

Minecraft 1.20 any new chunks that generate will generate with that new terrain which namely just means you can find Cherry forest and everyone loves Cherry planks so make sure not to explore your world is usually the advice but because the Cherry Grove biome is very particular and where it wants to

Spawn and because you can find almost everything else now it’s honestly not the worst advice to explore but then don’t go any further if you end up anywhere remotely mountainous or anywhere that looks like it might lead there because if you find a meadow area

Then that is a place that off the update could likely be a Cherry Grove biome so exploring isn’t the worst idea in this update but there’s one thing you absolutely must not do do not do this if you find a brand new structure let’s say

You find a new ocean ruin uh down here in your your ocean do not open the chests for any structures that you go into or rather here’s the long list of structures you shouldn’t open the chests in but you know the easier rule is to say don’t open them because you know

It’s most of the structures in the game because if you open them after Minecraft 1.20 then you’ll come across some extra loot including potentially some armor trims those armor trims you know you can do some fun things of them later but getting your hands on as many as you can

Without exploring thousands of blocks is a good thing so I find a desert temple I don’t open any of the chests inside of it if you open them once the loot remains locked you can’t open chests that you’ve already opened the loot stays locked but if you haven’t opened

The chests then things are good that is what you need to keep in mind don’t open any chests that you haven’t already opened the second thing I would say is now it’s probably a good time to be mining some diamonds why do I say that because if you find a trim you really

Like let’s say it’s the silence trim which appears in one percent of uh ancient city chests if you really like this trim and you want to get more or if you want to get a never I upgrade and you want to duplicate those you’ll need seven diamonds plus the trim plus a real

Did random block depending on the trim you’ll need seven diamonds per duplication you want to do which is Mojang’s way of giving diamonds a use to get I mean look at me do I if you look at my armor you can see I haven’t really been using diamonds look at my tools

It’s all non-diamonds anytime I do use diamond tools it’s not because I craft them myself it’s because you know well I just kind of I trade them with villagers it got to the point in my let’s play world where I genuinely made mushrooms with enchantment tables as the tops just

Because I was looking for ways to take advantage of my diamonds and I still have hundreds of them remaining anyone for long-term world can attest this is the way it works diamonds are only useful for diamond blocks jukeboxes and enchantment tables until this update where you’re going to want them to

Duplicate your rarest and most important trims I wouldn’t say it fixes the issue altogether it just kind of Smooths out the gameplay curve alongside obviously the changes to never they’ve made but if you want to find diamonds now is your time so make sure you take advantage of

It I have so many Diamond doors I genuinely haven’t mined it might be fun to go around liked all of them uh Fortune them all up and get the best rewards I can because it looks like we might actually be using more diamonds in Minecraft 1.20 so yeah I’ll be doing a

Little bit more diamond mining between now and then and I’ll also be specifically uh you know like keeping the oars intact so I can Fortune them at a later date uh getting myself one big Fortune batch which is always the best way to make diamonds if you want to have

Um a written also is there anything down here if you want to have an exciting time mining for diamonds uh I would say 100 the advice is always uh Fortner you know silk touch them up now and then Fortune them all at the same time because it leads to very fun things

Speaking this is this is a very weird uh little cave that I run into huh uh speaking of very weird things I think it’s fair to move on fine oh look there we go more deep sleep diamonds bringing these ones home with me too but I think

It’s fair to move on to the category now of things you absolutely need to do or you’ll feel like a bit of an idiot because although uh you know the first things we mentioned so far are pretty useful for Minecraft 1.20 they’re changing how you get never and they’re

Changing it to make it significantly harder the exact game balance behind this is controversial to some I think it’s kind of well needed it would have been better if they’d done this from the start I think bringing in now is a bit rough but if you want never right right

Now all you need is a never right anger and a Diamond Tool if you want never right after the update well you need a Diamond Tool you’re gonna need a navarite Ingot which still requires mining for ancient debris as well as four gold and smelting it all up together

Um but as well as those two things you’ll need to get your hands on one of these never right upgrade templates so this never a upgrade template can only be found in bastions and although you can find one in every Bastion it still means you’re going to be exploring a lot

If you’re never looking for them and they’re going to be either duplicated which means it actually costs seven diamonds plus a diamond tool to upgrade or you’re going to need to go doing a lot of exploring which is kind of is crazy either way right so right now you

Can skip all of those extra steps all of that never exploring all of those diamonds by simply upgrade reading anything you could ever imagine needing is never right into neverite right now which leads me to a pretty disappointing reality because I had Grand plans for my

Beacon never I at the moment it’s just kind of sat there on the side but I was gonna move it to my museum I thought this was going to be such a lovely place to put it however if you have never right lying around your world right now

And you don’t have a fully upgraded set of tools you might as well upgrade that stuff right now even if you have the fully upgraded set of tools and armor which hint I don’t look at my hat a lot of people have been telling me upgraded

Forever and I figured why do I even need to but right now if there’s even a chance you’ll need never right in the future why wouldn’t you do that right now so I’m taking away my beacon neverite and I’m getting some never I ingots and I’m finally just going to

Upgrade this helmet and make it what it needs to be although probably I should put some extra enchantments on first but still I’m gonna upgrade my helmet it’s gonna be a whole tragic thing anyway so before I do that what I’m going to do is I’m going to take off my helmet

Minecraft is so loud what I’m gonna do is I’m going to take off my helmet and put on a new enchantment first aqua affinity will allow me to mine slightly better underwater which I think is real neat and so now look at this if I just

Wait two months to do this it will cost me a whole sniffing template if I do it right now instead it only cost me nine never right ingots it’s totally gonna cost all of those trust me but uh yeah as you can see wow I’ve got myself a

Never right helmet finally isn’t that nice wait I think I want to put I’m braking on there too should I put on breaking on first you know who who knows for sure who can who can really say but uh oh I could also put thorns on there or projectile

Protection get some aqua affinity at the same time but uh actually where where is my where are my breaking books stored honestly it might even be worth upgrading to alternate variants of armor that you have so if you have a never right chest plate it’s got projectile

Protection maybe you get a never right chest plate with blast protection if you want to have multiple pairs of boots for different situations you could have that too do you want to have different pairs of never right leggings one with swift sneak one without if you want alternate

Sets of gear maybe you go through lots of pickaxes upgrade some of those to never right it is totally worth doing now because it saves you a lot of pain um and so in the kind of reverse situation of that you have pink dye pink dye is going to get so ridiculously easy

To get off this update you’ll be able to harvest near infinite amounts of it just by going to one biome that if you’re going to craft pink dye right now you should really be reconsidering right now you use up an entire red flower that Poppy and you use up an entire bone meal

Which can be useful for other things just to make yourself some pink dye which is equivalent to making 16 glass or two wool or 16 stained you don’t get very great Returns on it is what I’m saying uh but what you can get great Returns on is just going to a forest

After this update so uh yeah the only last remaining thing that I’ll add to this is one I wouldn’t do myself but might be a big deal for you if you do find yourself in a situation where it’s raining like this it’s not raining in my

Real world it’s very sunny here uh but if you find yourself in a situation where you’re raining you might as well capture some charge creepers now because you might want one of those sweet piglet heads I don’t know where to categorize that because again I I personally as a

Completionist kind of want it but it’s not a super high priority for me but it might be a very high priority for you those are the seven major things that you can do to prepare for Minecraft 1.20 I hope you have enjoyed this little peek into my Minecraft world and my
