impulseSV – Infinite Sand! (Super Simple Husk Farm) – Hardcore Skyblock Minecraft (#6)

Welcome back to Skyblock where last episode we built this amazing sorting system and it’s only going to expand as we get more stuff but last episode I realized something as I was making this I kind of missed having glass we ended up using all these trap doors for piping

The water so I’ve been thinking about it and on Skyblock the best way to get glass is to smelt sand of course and that we can get from husks so in order for us to spawn we need to be in a desert biome hello I think there’s a

Whole chunk of desert where that island is we talked about how we’re gonna make paths to the islands and I think I actually want to have the paths be lower in the world and that way when we build our Farms we don’t have to get over

There and then go down I need to start collecting the materials to make the paths actually kind of cool and that was a pun because we’re gonna need to collect some ice foreign I think I have enough ice now for what I need to do we need to borrow this lava and make sure we’ve got a water bucket and we’re gonna go to the end of one of these bridges that we’ve made for our sorting system in order to get over to

The desert area we’re going to go that way and then cut over once we’re kind of underneath that what looks like a mushroom Island over there but because this is raised up a bit and I want the actual path to be at the very bottom of

The world we’re gonna have to do a little bit more lava casting I didn’t really feel like just branching off of down there so we’ll come to the end of here put our lava right there and not far to go you can see all right don’t

Have too far to go so I think that’s about it we’ll put our water here and take this love out before it starts burning our wood and now we can start to dig down as this lava disappears and this should be the bottom one perfect and then I made some stairs I think

We’re gonna use these to get back up to that so we’ll just have a staircase coming straight down to here and then our ice path out to the island there that’s right we’re gonna use ice to actually get from Island to Island now that we’ve got the staircase down to the

Bottom of the world here I think I’m going to make a little Landing Pad right at the bottom here before we actually start our ice way over so let’s just go ahead and build this out a bit and then I think from here it’s time to start our

Icebridge and I just hope I don’t slip right off this all right looks like we have reached the desert as we cross this chunk right here you can see it goes from Planes to Desert so we want to build ourselves a little safety platform just about here right before we get into

The actual desert biome but the idea is once we are in this chunk right here that is actually desert we can build a farm that only well more than husks will spawn but at least husks can spawn in husks in Skyblock will drop sand we do

Have to get up there and get rid of that Island though so I built a little catcher platform here because we’re gonna go up there and we’re gonna hit that sand and the whole island is just gonna crumble down and we want to actually save some of the blocks even

Though we’re gonna make a farm and have plenty of sand I do want to save what we can and especially I think think there’s some Cactus up there that we definitely want to make sure that we grab so I put this here hopefully it does the trick

And we’ll go up there and we’ll punch some sand all right we made it to the top here this thing is really up here and in fact I might actually try to grab this Cactus because I’ve been thinking about it and I don’t really want to lose

It if it falls down so let’s break that and grab a couple of those and then now what we can do is actually go underneath this oh we could get Oh I thought I could collect that I need a cheers whoops oh well uh we don’t need dead

Wishes all right so what we can do is just go ahead and you see these blocks here that have little particles falling it’s because these are actually like floating in midair which means we just need to punch one of them and doubt it goes oh that’s always so satisfying oh

We gotta get down there and collect it and here it is 27 pieces of sand nice so I’ve seen quite a few comments about how me running across a one wide bridge over the void makes a lot of you nervous so I did you a favor I put in guard rails

You’re welcome but these rails even have a different purpose because they’re gonna help keep our boat on the track that’s right we’re actually going to use a boat along this ice track and look at how much faster we are able to travel I figure best we get this in now because

We’re going to be going back and forth getting a lot of materials to build this this little mob farm we’re about to build for the husk look at that when we get to the end we’ve got a little stopper and hopefully this doesn’t eject us off the island okay

A little bit terrifying so now what’s left to do is we need to build ourselves a spawning platform out here Foreign Platform is done I’ve got it lit up right now so nothing’s actually going to spawn on it and then the idea is that we are going to get a villager in this boat right here and the Huss will actually track down this villager they’ll climb these stairs and then fall in to the

Soul fire there and we’ll be able to collect their drops that way so kind of the same idea as the gold Farm except this time they’re agreeing on a villager instead of me and they will work their way into our traps so wow now I actually

Have to get back to the island and grab a villager and luckily we can boat them all the way here and then I gotta lure them up into this one so hopefully this goes well we’ll see our villager is in place and it is night time so if I take

Away these torches we could actually see this thing in action which I’m I’m a little bit terrified about but let’s go for it why not let me just build a little bridge over here so we can get in and then I’ll need to make sure to take

Those out on our way out because I don’t want mobs finding their way out and around and they’re gonna spawn fast if you’re wondering these leaves they do help the spawning algorithm a little bit by giving some some like ground outside of the actual spawning pad that they

Actually can’t spot on uh it’s kind of complicated I don’t quite fully understand it myself I just know that it helps so they’re there and let’s take these away and hopefully nothing spawns directly behind us give us a chance to clear this out and yeah I’ll just stay

Back and watch hopefully we hit some spawns in there they go and I’m just gonna back up I don’t want them tracking me really and I don’t want to see Enderman either skellies don’t need to shoot at me let’s go ahead and we’re back far enough now we can go into free

Cam mode and see this thing work it looks like they’re getting hung up on something I’m not sure what exactly they started coming up the stairs but then stops they should have just walked right off the ledge here okay it’s working a little bit better they are walking in

Now but still not consistently I think it still needs a few more tweaks all right and I’m gonna do something if you’re wondering what we’re gonna do about all these mobs that are not husks uh what we can do is actually just ride our boat all the way down to the end

Here if we look at our rear view yeah all the mobs despawned so then we just turn around and we come back and we get a fresh batch of mob spawning so we can’t just do that literally just go back and forth and oh look at that we’re

Actually missing some drops here I think I need a few more Hoppers and a little bit more sand in the chest okay four sand so far not off to a great start but again we got some things that we need to tweak here and now the sun’s up there’s

No mobs to worry about so we can actually get in and make some fixes all right made some tweaks hopefully it will work in fact I’m gonna stop stop close I’m gonna stop right here we’ll free cam and see how it’s going now oh a creeper came up the stairs okay

Interesting that they start aren’t falling down I’m not exactly sure what the problem is to be honest okay we do have a house that wants to get to him and down he goes okay I had to get a little bit closer I think for the mobs to actually wander and now they are

Coming in yeah they are getting stuck at the top of the stairs it seems so it must just be in some way I orientated the stairs and the walls to where they’re stopping they are kind of nudging each other but not fluent like I would hope for oh

And my villager just got wrecked by a Skelly that’s not good how did that even happen what I think the Skelly was trying to shoot me from up there yep definitely that one just tried to take a shot and hit the boat new villager in place I

Think I figured out what I was doing wrong he actually needs to be up really high so that when the zombies are down here the Haas they can actually have clear line of sight to him all the way up and then I think they will continue

On forward now so we shall see uh they they think they can kind of like jump from this block onto this one to get them and they’re not going to be able to obviously so they should end up in there but time will tell hopefully we did this

Right okay first spawns coming in hopefully yeah there we go huh straight away this time and the question is will they make their way all the way up and in there we go that is much better looking no one’s trying to kill me this time because I’m far enough back there

Yeah that’s exactly how this is supposed to work look at him go conga line and I think what we should see happen is because of where I’m standing we should see some mobs despawning to make room for more mobs to come in but if we really wanted to push this we could

Travel all the way down there have the entire thing do you spawn and then come back and do that over and over again so I might put in like a mine cart ride so that we can just AFK and have the minecart just go back and forth that

Might be a good idea but I’m just going to watch the rates for a little bit and see if that’s even necessary and the sun is coming up meaning this is probably not going to get any more spawns nope okay one night of using the farm I did

Go back and forth just a few times and it looks like we need to get a couple hoppers on here they’re kind of falling through right here where this wall is so I’ll just go ahead I’ll just do all three why not and let’s see what we

Ended up with oh my gosh that is way more than I thought we’ve got over oh Zen collector a stack and a half of sand very nice and of course more rotten flesh that we can we can trade without Claire can do whatever want or just trash it maybe I don’t know we’re

Getting a ton now but this Farm is definitely working I think it might be a fun project to put in a little Railway that just takes me all the way down and all the way back put it on a little Redstone timer because uh I actively AFK

That farm that doesn’t that doesn’t make any sense I was not away from keyboard I was actively running the farm by going all the way down and coming back just to make the spawns happen a little bit quicker but yeah this is is working and it was even better very simple once I

Figured out that the Villager had to go up a little bit higher so hopefully this is something you guys can take a look at and pretty much replicate on your own here I’ll do a little fly over so you can see kind of the way I laid out these

Stairs we went up just what one two three four five steps and then that gives them enough room I didn’t go all the way at the bottom for the collection so we don’t have to worry about uh doing any kind of redstone comparators and stuff like that if we want to eventually

Shoot them off I may end up doing some sort of like loot collection system over here too or we can try to send it all the way back to the island but I’m not sure it’s gonna make it even though we can see it I’m not sure those chunks are

Actually loaded when we’re this far away so something to test out in the future I suppose all right the Sun is setting again which means our farm is going to start working I put up a little glass barrier so I don’t have to worry about being all the way up here and having

Mobs shoot at me and I kind of filled in some other areas I was concerned about I’m gonna go about halfway down this path and what that should do is allow mobs to despawn a little bit quicker so we’ll spin it around here and as soon as

We see mob spawning about here should be fine and we’ll go and take a look in free cam mode and I’m gonna let a whole night go by and I’m not gonna move a muscle we’re gonna sit right there and we’re gonna see how much more sand we

Get and I think that’ll determine whether or not I end up putting in that Railway that we talked about okay first night we had a stack in just over a half this time we have a stack into just under a half so not a huge difference

But if we had been going back and forth at a proper speed I think we could get a lot more it might be worth it yeah let’s do some Redstone so we’re gonna need a few things first off some glass some Redstone need to make some rails and

Since we’re gonna make powered rails we’re gonna need a bit more gold so we know if we go out 128 blocks from the spawning platform everything on it will despawn so I think I want to do that but I don’t want to go 128 blocks out from

This bit right here because then if there’s any Huss in here dying they’ll do spawn too which we don’t want so I’m actually going to use my two stacks of glass right here to go out but I’m gonna shave off a few just so that we know we

Didn’t go too far and I think I can kind of estimate here it looks like we’ve got about 15 blocks or so so just to be safe I’m gonna put 16 away and that should be perfect okay we’re just over 100 blocks out and at this point point I think we

Want to just have it send us directly back and we got to be careful not to leave any spawnable spaces and I don’t want to put a torch there because I don’t want to risk melting that ice so we’re just going to put a slab on top of

That and then we need to power some rails here I think I’m just going to use this block of redstone I know it’s a bit of a waste of redstone we could have just put a lever on that but it kind of looks cool well this is a bit of a problem

Uh spiders rights they will climb over this and try to get me not good I’m gonna have to protect myself somehow oh don’t die to this don’t die to this where’s my bow I mean look at that he’s just chilling right on top waiting for

Me hmm we are gonna have to establish a gap I think so they cannot get to me while I’m on the rail I got my bow this time you’re not getting me so I guess I’ll move this entire station out a bit and hopefully they won’t be

Able to jump from here over to the track okay I’ve moved things back just a little bit and I just noticed that I should have made this glass wall a little bit higher because that spider you can see me and here he comes except wait a minute he just fell down into the

Void maybe we’re okay I’m a little bit worried they’re worked their way across over here on this bridge and then work their way to me so I might need to make myself a little more safer than this but let’s go ahead and test this thing out

This timer should go off just gonna eat the hopper clock here then every once in a while will send me all the way down there and back and there I go so let’s watch the platform as I leave the idea is that everything here will despawn but

Anything that’s kind of in this area will stay and I’m about there so here comes a despawning and these guys did not despawn perfect okay so we know we’ve got the the the length there and just right and we’ll come back now spotting happens again and I got the

Timer set though I’ll actually do another run down and back while these guys are kind of queuing up here and I think that’s good actually I think the timing’s just about right now let’s watch these spiders and make sure that we don’t get in trouble all right these

Spawning should happen this is fun to watch and then I start working my way back and immediately the respawns happen and more has to come oh I love it that was definitely worth putting in all right spider what are you gonna do what are

You gonna do are you gonna see me hey no he’s gone okay all right I think I’ll keep my eye on this for a little bit just to make sure I’m not gonna have any spider issues because right now I don’t think I would leave myself AFK oh here comes a spider

Here he comes and yep that’s what I was worried about yep yep yep yep yep okay I cannot AFK here just yet or else I will end up losing my world I think probably the best move here is to go ahead and sacrifice some spawn spaces just to make

Sure that we don’t get any spider spawns kind of like we did with that mob farm over there and so I’m gonna put down some trap doors in a very specific way and that will definitely make sure that spiders can’t spawn and everything else still should but yeah we are sacrificing

Just a few spawning spots unfortunately but should be worth it as long as it keeps me alive testing things out here and we still have spider spots and that is because they are actually spawning on this Outer Edge which isn’t usually a problem because there’s a wall here and

That stops I’m seeing they’re kind of hanging over a little bit uh so what I need to do is add a few more trap doors just on these leaves around this edge here with the two blocks and then that should fully stop them I’m not seeing them spawn anywhere else the other thing

I realized is that when I’m chilling here I’m at actually too close to the platform for new spawns to happen at least not in this front area maybe back here uh did I just take off no I actually did just see a spawn here but

I’m I’m just a little bit too close so we’re killing a little bit of the spawn just right here I might move this back a few blocks there I might not worry about it because we are taking off and everything is fine now can’t get enough of this

Goodbye let’s really watch this as I sit here I’m gonna go on one more trip I guess but when I get back I want to really watch and see what kind of spawns we get as I’m just sitting there in the uh the bay when this is off oh and I

Thought of one other thing I have an on off switch but I realized this thing only needs to run at night so what if we used a daylight detector and basically this thing is off during the day and then at night it runs automatically and maybe we can still have a manual

Override just like I did there that could be kind of cool because there’s no reason for this clock to be running all the time all right I put in our daylight detector and it should turn off here pretty soon so I’m gonna get into this and we’ll see if this is actually

Working as I intended to it’s basically just powering this Redstone which makes this piston stay retracted right there and then eventually the Daylight’s gonna be gone so that should stop powering that Redstone and we should see this thing come alive in fact mobs are already spawning there we go perfect I

Think the timing’s about right mobs literally just started spawning name and I did put down a couple more trapdoors so we shouldn’t see any spiders on the platform I still have a lever there if I want to manually just shut this thing down if I’m not using it but for the

Most part if I am using it then I’ll just let the daylight detector do its thing to where this only runs at night so all right let’s stop here and we’re gonna let the timer do its thing it’s gonna send us off in just a minute but I

Want to just double check and make sure that there are zero spiders on the platform wow that’s a lot of skellies okay so this is definitely blocking the spider spawnage now so I should in theory be safe to AFK this finally but uh because this is a hardcore world I’m

Not going to risk it just yet I gotta just I gotta monitor it for a little bit longer make sure I didn’t make any other mistakes like you know can Mom spawn on top of a daylight detector I don’t think so but just need to make sure I gotta

Say this Farm was so much fun to build I mean it’s just literally all platform but we’ve kind of maxed out the spawning rates and we’ve got a nice way to attract these Us in where we don’t really need to do anything and this look at how stoic this is this the Villager

Is just chilling there I mean he he can’t be bothered he just cannot be bothered look at him they’re getting close but he just he don’t care so I think that’ll do for our husk farm for today it will produce I just need to AFK

It a little bit more so we can get some more glass but I’m also thinking more about these Pathways that we’ve created I love that boat ice way all the way out there and I really want to do one to each island out around us that we

Haven’t yet visited and in order to do that we’re gonna need to get a bunch of ice and also since we’re using these walls we’re gonna need a lot more Stone so I got thinking about our cobblestone generator and I don’t love it even though I made it so that we can Harvest

More and we have diamond pickaxe so that we are a little bit quicker on doing this uh the fact that I typically take this Cobble and just smelt it to Stone doesn’t make a lot of sense especially since fuel is still not something we have in abundance so I think I’m gonna

Redo this machine just a little bit and we’ll start to move things up to where they’re going to go up on that layer instead of having them down here so one by one we’ll start to move all our little starter Farms up to where they’re

Going to actually be in the long run but I think I’m going to convert this to an actual stone generator instead of cobblestone since that’s mostly what we’re going to need to build these brick stone walls so I’m currently making this Stone generator that I saw a video from

Mysticat on and it seems super simple and it’s something we can AFK at and collect Stone really easily and so what we want to do is we’re basically just changing the setup so that the lava is actually going across the top of water instead of next to it and that will give

Us what we need here so what I need to do is actually water log these I think I can just take that Source do that and then yeah there we go so we water log these stairs and the flowing water goes across the top of them and we make a

Little Basin here for our lava and this terrifies me because there’s water right there and there’s lava in my hand and I always feel like it’s just going to turn it to obsidian but we’re good it just goes on top of it you can see the stone is actually forming

Underneath I’m gonna go ahead and just cap this off and now we should be able to just go here there’s Hoppers underneath that and so that should have gone into this chest and now we have stone instead of cobblestone super simple stone generator there and I’ll

Put a link in the description to uh Mr cat’s video for you so I keep thinking about that spider attack that we had earlier and then I took a look at the gear that I’m wearing and realized that actually could have been pretty dangerous so I think it’s time that

We’ve finally upgrade our armor and we’re gonna need a blast furnace to do that just need a bit more iron and then we can make our blast furnace and the new villager trading stall so we’re gonna have to pull another villager out of the system uh get them to use the

Blast furnace as their table and we shall be able to get some upgrades to Diamond Armor let’s go alright straight to the table let’s lock them in and we’re gonna have to buy some garbage to level there we go Diamond pants projectile protection three okay not bad

At least they’re not too expensive and we might as well get some shoes as well look at that cover me with diamonds advancement made nice and protection Two Boots I’ll take them in fact I might get a few pair and just combine them all right final unlock and we’ve got fire

Protection helmet okay and projectile protection one chest plate that’s not great but the good news is we are fully Diamond up now amazing and I think I’ll keep working on our Librarians to see if we can get some decent books so that we can turn a protection 2 into protection
