Industrial Foregoing Tutorial – Introduction & Getting Started | Minecraft 1.16.5

Hello there everyone the andrada here and welcome to our mod spotlight on industrial foregoing industrial foregoing is a mod that was created by booze 135 and its tagline is you need to automate all the things and that is kind of what industrial foregoing is is a mod that

Allows you to do a lot of things and we’re talking a lot of things it is a pretty expansive mod that has items ranging from wither builders to animal farms to Nuclear weapons you have a nuke that you can let off and you know all kinds of stuff so yeah this mod spotlight’s gonna take us a couple episodes we’re gonna probably you know maybe two or three depending on how long this ends up being we’re basically gonna break down every single aspect of

Industrial foregoing from how to get started and then what each machine in the mod pack does how it works and how you can set it up so yeah let’s get started so the first thing we’re going to talk about for industrial foregoing is the core machines okay there are basically

Three machines that you need to get started and you have to have these three machines so first two are related to each other and that is the fluid extractor and the latex processing unit the fluid extractor extracts latex from biological items generally wood and then creates latex in which the

Latex processing unit uses to create rubber you then take that rubber do a little bit of uh you know crafting magic and some smelting and create plastic and then from there that unlocks the ability to create almost all of the machines here pretty much every machine that you see

In industrial foregoing requires some form of plastic so you have to set up these two machines to start with our next machine is our dissolution chamber the dissolution chamber is your basic crafting machine for industrial foregoing a lot of the machines require you to use the dissolution chamber to

Make components of their crafting recipe as well as it’s used to make all of the upgrades for the machines we’re going to go over both or all well really all three of these machines in detail as we go on to get started and that is most likely going to be what encompa

Encompasses this first episode and then we’ll start diving into the different um machines available in subsequent episodes so let’s get started with step number one creating machine frames okay that was a little awkward of an ending there because i couldn’t remember what the next step was and i was trying

To read the sign as we went through but step one is making pity machine frames uh pitiful machine frames or pity machine frames are the lowest tier of items in industrial foregoing and if we go into gei we look at industrial foregoing and we type pity we’re gonna

See you have three mach things available to you you have a pity machine frame you have a pity black hole unit and we have pity uh black hole tanks and we’ll go over what those items do there’s also a pitiful generator available as well which is a

Generator that you can set up to you know generate power but yeah lowest tier of item in industrial foregoing is the pity machine frame or the pitiful tier easy to craft doesn’t require any of those special machines or anything like that it’s just four pieces of wood four pieces of iron

And a redstone block in the middle and that’s going to get you a pity machine frame you’re going to want a couple of these to get started so you’re going to want to go ahead and craft a bunch of them and move on to step number two

So for step number two we’re going to go ahead and make fluid extractors like we talked about over there in order to start working on our latex production in order to do so you’re going to need a pity machine frame as the centerpiece a piston four iron ingots two cobblestone and a

Light weighted pressure plate which is uh two gold so what you’re gonna do is put all that into a crafting table and you’re gonna get yourself fluid extractors and note power is optional so step three is to begin latex extraction you may be wondering the andrada how do i extract latex super

Simple first things first when you place on your machine note that it does have a direction this is the extractor section you need this section to be facing whatever block it is that you are going to be extracting from such as a piece of wood so when you place these

Make sure you place them in such a way that all of them are facing you know the block that you want to extract from they can be rotated if you use refined storage uh refined storage wrench can rotate them but industrial foregoing does not have a wrench in its

On its own so just if you don’t have refined storage in there just make sure you place them properly once you do let’s go ahead and get rid of that uh once you do you can set all of your machines down place a block of

Wood in here and then turn them on i currently have them set to be off but if we just turn them on to a redstone mode of ignored or however you want to run it you know but for this case i didn’t want them to run

You’re going to see here your block is going to start breaking and you can see here we got those two little pieces that means our block is slowly being broken and that’s what this is going to do each fluid extractor is going to start extracting fluid it’s got a progress uh

Bar up to 100 starts from 100 counts down gives you an eta and tells you how much energy it would be using if we had power hooked up to it because remember with fluid extractors power is optional so they’re just going to continue to break down this oak log and it does last

Quite a while it’s actually going to break down the oak log turn it to a stripped version and then it’s going to break down that so one log does last quite a while and you can get away with only using one fluid extractor you don’t necessarily need four but as you can see

The process is slow um we currently have 24 millibuckets in each one of these and in order to get to our next step which is our latex processing unit you need a full bucket of it so it’s definitely recommended to get you know four of them and if you can and if you

Can hook them up with power currently i have fluid cells under here so that we have the latex going somewhere so we don’t have to worry about it but if we wanted to hook them up with power we could take our redstone flux cell that i already have prepared to are prepared

Set it up and you’ll see now they only take two seconds per operation instead of five seconds and the same thing is going to apply to this one two seconds per operation instead of five seconds so putting power on them if you have the power to support it is definitely

Recommended basically it halves the production and then rounds down so it’s two instead of two and a half seconds versus five seconds for fluid extractors that are not powered so after you get your fluid extractors set up you’ve let them run for a little while and you’ve gotten yourself a

Bucket of latex which remember is one thousand millibuckets you’re gonna wanna take that bucket of latex combine it with a pity machine frame a bucket of water four iron ingots a redstone or i’m sorry a regular furnace and a block of redstone take all those and you’re gonna get

Yourself a latex processing unit which is what you’re gonna do to start producing rubber and then subsequently plastic and so we come to step five in which we are going to process our latex now this does look slightly complicated but remember we’ve already done this we’ve set up our fluid extractors before right

Over there so you’re just going to take your fluid extractors set them up so that they are processing latex and producing you know latex and then you’re going to set your latex processing unit up now you can manage this with manual buckets if you wanted to but if you have

Access to a piping system for example right now i have the mod pipes in here you can use mechanism you can use pretty pipes pretty pipe says items only i believe maybe it’s been updated whatever piping system you have utilize it make yourself you know make

Things a lot easier so you’re going to set up your dissolution or your latex processing unit and it is going to require power so you’re going to have to power it somehow and inside of here we have three different inputs okay so you have power you have your latex and you have water

Both are required latex and water are required in order to start producing tiny dry rubber which is the item that is produced from your latex processing unit right now we have um an aqueous accumulator from thermal set up uh probably should have used a water condensator from this mod instead of the

Aqueous accumulator but i honestly didn’t know it existed when i was going through and setting all this stuff up we’ll talk about the water condensator later but the aqueous accumulator requires two source blocks next to it and it just produces water from those two source blocks infinitely

So we have that piping into our latex processing unit we have our latex being pumped from our machines into here and if we turn this guy on you will see it will start processing again it is a five second timer and it’s gonna start producing

Tiny dry rubber for us and from there we need to go ahead and start working on making plastic step six is making plastic so if we go in here and we take our tiny dry rubber it takes nine tiny dry rubber in your crafting station so every slot filled is

Going to make you a piece of dry rubber you’re going to take that dry rubber go over to a furnace a redstone furnace whatever you have and you’re going to smelt it up once you smelt up your dry rubber you’re going to get a piece of plastic so the process is

Latex extractors two millibuckets at a time is going to go over here to your latex processing unit it takes 100 latex to make a tiny dry rubber and it takes nine tiny dry rubber to make a dry rubber so essentially you need 900 ml buckets of latex per piece of plastic

Take those tiny dry rubber combine them into a dry rubber smelt it and you get plastic that is the core crafting component of industrial foregoing you must set this up for all of your recipes unless you’re playing in creative and can cheat all this stuff in you need plastic for

Everything and you need latex for the crafting process too so once you get your plastic don’t tear it down if you have the opportunity and you can se either set up another fluid extractor uh to process latex specifically for your crafting so you can have one set up for crafting

And you can have one set up for your plastic production or split your extraction if you get a tank you can split your extraction and you know have the tank set up here so that some of it goes into your tank some of it goes into your processing unit

Because you’re going to need that latex later when we get into the dissolution chamber uh so yeah that’s making plastic core component you need it let’s move on all right so once you get your plastic set up you can now work on making a dissolution chamber

Fairly simple you do need diamonds uh in order to craft this so you must have progressed to the point where you have diamonds and diamonds to spare really but what you’re going to need is two pieces of plastic a chest a pity machine frame two empty

Buckets two pieces of gold and a diamond gear take those items and you can craft yourself up a dissolution chamber so you may be wondering what is a dissolution chamber well it’s the main crafting machine of industrial foregoing and it’s pretty simple the way that it works

So what you’re going to do inside of its ui you have a total of eight slots okay eight slots plus or well eight item slots and a fluid slot you’re gonna need to provide the machine with power and you’re gonna place items inside of here

Based on what it is you want to craft so for this craft right here we are making a machine frame and there are multiple different tiers of machine frame as we learned before we have the pity machine frame which is the base machine frame doesn’t require anything special to craft

Our next tier up from that is the simple machine frame and if we look at the crafting recipe for that it is exactly the stuff we have inside of here plus 250 ml of buckets of latex so we have our items in here we just

Need to get our latex so let’s grab a bucket of latex go ahead and click it into there now we have our latex it’s going to process this is a slower machine it does take at base for this process 15 seconds to produce but it’s gonna go ahead do its

Thing and in just a few moments we are going to get a simple machine frame and that’s it that’s that’s the crafting component with the dissolution chamber put your items in give it some fluid out comes your item next we’re going to learn how to automate this okay so automating the dissolution

Chamber can sort of pose a little bit of a challenge especially since it uses fluids and items so here’s the thing with a dissolution chamber you cannot put more than one item into any of these slots so if i wanted to put all 62 of these

Nether brick in here i can’t you can only have one in there and so what you have to do is put your items into the dissolution chamber hit this lock button and it will lock the input to your selected items then you can attach a chest to it with those items in there

Give it some later for example well for this recipe it’s latex so put a tank of latex or have buckets available that you can dump your latex into kickstart the machine and then you want to set your input and you want to tell it to pull you know

From the chest on their left because it’s to our left and our fluid is going to be this one and we can pull from the top it will keep the latex full and it will just continuously craft this one item the simple machine frame is all

It’s going to craft and it’s just going to keep doing that on a loop and we’ll see here once this one finishes bam it’s going to start pulling the items from the chest again and we can see those numbers going down and it’s going to start doing the craft

And it’s the same thing with our other tiers of machines so this uses pink slime which we’ll discuss how to get pink slime in a future episode but this uses pink slime and this is going to make our advanced machine frame so we’re going to set it to pull from the chest

To the left and then pull from the top it’s going to do its thing and make advanced machine frames and then again same thing over here this is ether gas and again we’ll discuss how to do this in a future episode but we can set it to pull

And pull and it’s gonna do the thing the caveat with this is you really can only use these dissolution chambers for kind of sort of one craft at a time because you can’t really dump you know a whole bunch of items in here and say hey dissolution chamber be

Smart pull what you need make me the stuff that i’m i want at least for automation purposes if you do have refined storage in the pack you can utilize refined storage to automate your dissolution chamber and i highly recommend it so let’s get started on that

Okay so what we have here is a very basic simple refined storage system we got a for this purpose we have a creative controller and a creative disk in here so we have as much storage space as we need and inside of here we have our crafting components for all of our

Different tiers of machine frames we have a pattern grid so we can teach the system how to auto craft with our crafter here we have a crafting monitor so we can check the status if needed if something breaks during this tutorial i hope it doesn’t but it could and we have

A fluid grid and the reason we have a fluid grid is if we pop back here um we have well let’s let’s go back up to the front so what we have is fluid cells set up with our different fluids uh this is water latex pink slime and ether gas you can

Set up different fluids like you could have lava and stuff in here but for our our crafting purposes right now this is all we need so we have these set up these do have cards in there to make them creative so they have infinite storage inside of them but

On the back side with our refined storage we have external storages set up in fluid mode on each one of these so if we go over to our fluid grid we’re going to see we have all of these fluids available to the system externally you can set up with refined storage if

You so chose you could have fluid cards in here or fluid disks and have everything go into there my preferred method of doing this is external storages on separate tanks it’s just how i like to manage it you can do it the other way it’s totally

Up to you it will work either way then on our dissolution chamber we have a crafter on the top and we have our inputs set to only allow inputting to the top the crafter is going to push items to the top then we have an importer so that we can

Import our items back to our refined storage network and our output here is set to all push to the left the importer should pull as well so we don’t necessarily need that but i like to set my machines up so i know okay we’re pushing to the left

Inside of the ui so it just gives you a general idea of how items are flowing around in your machines and our fluid input we also have enabled to the top so how do we craft with this so we’re going to do is we’re going to take a

Pattern grid there we’re going to go to our pattern grid we have our patterns and we’re going to look at industrial frames if i can spell it correctly we’re going to look at all three of them so we’re going to look at our simple machine frame

Um and i forgot let me first off turn cheat mode off because it says creative and i can do that we’re going to set up our simple machine frame so we’re going to press r over the item to pull up the recipe and then we’re just going to hit the plus button

But we’re going to see here it’s going to pull items including our latex okay so we’re going to pull that into there and what you don’t see is the latex where did the latex go refined storage has the ability to auto craft with fluids if we click this button here

We’ll see this is the fluid that is being pulled from the machine or from our refined storage system so all of this plus this is going to equal a simple machine frame so let’s go ahead and craft that recipe uh we can go ahead and set up the

Advanced machine frame which is going to require us require some pink slime and again there’s the pink slime and then finally we have the supreme machine frame we’ll teach the system how to make that as well and again ether gas is in the card and if you look at our card

You can also see here two plastic an advanced machine frame two another right two diamond two one diamond gear in point one three five buckets of either gas gives us a supreme machine frame so we take our recipes put them into our crafter go back over to our crafting

Grid we will now see they showed up and let’s say hey i want a simple machine frame let’s craft one of these so what it’s going to do put all the items in including the exact amount of the liquid that is needed in here because if we go back to our initial

Recipe over here we’re going to let that finish if we go back over here if you remember i took a bucket from here put it into here well now we have 750 millibuckets of latex left in our machine which means this dissolution chamber can only be used to make items that

Require latex if i wanted to do something with pink slime i’d have to break this replace it pain refined storage can input the exact amount of the liquid that you need into the machine and you don’t have to worry about any excess so you can use one dissolution chamber not multiple to do

All of your crafting and we’ll see here we have a simple machine frame if we go to our advanced machine frame i apparently didn’t put gold ingots into the system so let’s go ahead and do that didn’t do it ahead of time my bad

But if we do that we can now craft gold machine frames it’s going to go ahead and dump the items in along with the requisite 500 millibuckets of pink slime drop it all in there finish its craft which does take 15 seconds to do we will talk about speeding those up

And we now have an advanced machine frame and the same thing goes for our supreme machine frame it’ll do its craft put exactly 135 millibuckets of ether gas and craft up we also can craft 64. uh i don’t have enough items in there so let’s do 10.

Remember what i said before it can only accept one item since it can only accept one item refined storage is smart enough to know hey the machine isn’t going to accept those 10 so it’s storing them it’s holding on to them as soon as this one

Finishes it’s going to take it out and it immediately added the next set of items into the machine so we’re not going to end up with extra we’re not going to end up with extra latex in there or anything like that it’s just going to do its craft refined storage plus industrial

Foregoing dissolution chamber is a dream if you have access to setting it up and automating it i highly highly recommend it otherwise you’re going to be doing a lot of manual crafting with your dissolution chamber which can be a pain last section of this mod spotlight we’re

Going to talk about upgrades that are available to your systems through or your machines through the dissolution chamber and everything so let’s go check that out okay machine upgrades there’s a couple different upgrades that are available to us we just have some basic fluid extractors here set up as

Well as a mob crusher and we’ll talk about what the mob crusher does uh in a future episode but it’s here for demonstration purposes of its range so what we have inside of our machine here is the tier one machines or tier one add-ons so we have

A processing tier one an efficiency tier one and a speed tier one and if we go not that if we go into our industrial foregoing book you will be able to see exactly what each one of these things does so if we go inside of here and we look at our add-ons section

If i can find it add-ons it’ll break down what each add-on does so speed increases how much the progress bar advances for every single tick at tier one which is your gold it’s plus one per tick tier two is plus two and that holds true for pretty much all of these efficiency decreases

The amount of ticks needed to complete an operation tier one is ten percent and tier two is a twenty percent reduction and processing increases the amount of operations done when a machine finishes tier one plus one tier two plus two pretty self-explanatory not too difficult to understand

Let’s demonstrate though so we have our fluid extractor here okay it’s gonna run it takes five seconds to process and it’s going to produce us two millibuckets of latex per operation right so we’re gonna go up to eight and now this time we’re gonna go to ten and it takes us 5 seconds

What we’re going to do is put in an efficiency tier 1 add-on in here and now we can see it reduced our efficiency or our progress needed by 10 percent so we’re now at only 90 progress to operate still five seconds but it’s really like 4.75 ish if you understand what i’m meaning

And we’re still getting two buckets or two millibucks of latex per operation we put a speed in here it’s going to increase our speed of operation by one per tick so if you can kind of see if you could slow this down instead of it going from

90 to 90 or to 89 and then 88 it’s going from 90 to 88 to 86 to 84. i’m sorry yeah to 84 to 82. it increased the operations per tick by one or the speed of the progress bar by one per tick and then finally we looks here we’re still getting two

Millibuckets every operation but we’re doing it significantly faster now remember this is without any power even in there because remember fluid extractors power is optional if we put the processing mod in here speed is still the same but we’re now generating even more we’re generating four latex per operation because it increased

The base by one and you remember with the base latex the base increases or gives you two latex per operation and so we increased that base by one which hence four is four it basically doubles the operation for this tier so then if we take our other options our higher tier

Turn our machine on again same thing five seconds a hundred progress and we’re getting two millibuckets we put our efficiency in here we let this process finish we’re now down to eighty so it’s only a four second time we put our speed in here now it’s going even faster because it’s

Dropping down by three uh progress numbers per tick so it’s only a two second production and again we’re producing two but if we put this in here now we’re going to be producing 6 because again the base is 2 and this adds 2 to the base so 2 4 6.

Makes sense i hope i’m explaining that accurate well not accurately but i’m hoping i’m explaining that uh so that it’s easy for you guys to understand that is your base speed add-ons pretty much every machine for the most part can accept these add-ons to speed them up

And if you have the ability to make the tier twos and you you want to speed up your machines i highly recommend putting them in there finally with these machines if we go ahead and put power into them we’ll see it’s going to run even faster basically

Takes one second per operation by adding you know power to our fluid extractors most machines aren’t power optional but there are a few in here that are lastly we have our range upgrades and the way that the range upgrades work is they come in flavors tier one flavor

Tier two tier three is what i like to call them and basically what this does a tier one add-on is gonna take your base range so for this machine it is a one block by three blocks and it’s gonna add one to each side so this will now if i put

The tier one in here it’s going to become a three by four and we can demonstrate that uh though this machine may not go higher in height some machines have a you know they cap out at a certain height but it’s going to get wider it’s also going to expand

This way too so now we’re going to have basically a 3×4 if we put this one in here and there we go so the height did not increase as i said some machines don’t but it did expand it out by one on each side and then this expanded out to be

Equal to the other side take a tier two put that in there it’s gonna expand out by two from the base so we should expect it to come out here and make a five by five essentially so there we go we now have a five by five square

So on and so forth through all of the different tiers um let me see here yeah so that’s a three by three five by five this would be a seven seven nine nine eleven eleven and all the way up to ridiculously large mob crusher uh that would be an insane

Mob farm if you had that set up but you could but that’s how range add-ons work it basically just adds on so this added 12 to the base which makes it a um what is that 12 13 25 by 25 is what this would end up being if that’s accurate yeah

And that’s your add-ons and that’s pretty much all of the add-ons that you have available to you with uh industrial foregoing your range your efficiency your processing and your speed and that is the basics of getting into industrial foregoing it’s not much more uh difficult than that each machine that

We have that we’re going to be building on from here they do have specific purposes such as animal farming farming farming mob farming weather farming a lot of it is farming automating certain things like automating farming automating shearing of sheep and milking of cows automating mob farming automating wither building and killing
