Minecraft is a very blocky Pixy game with low resolution Graphics so you think it can’t be that hard to run well you’re wrong in older versions of the game the amount of performance issues players would have was just ridiculous getting above 100 FPS meant having the Kind of computer they use at Nasa the choppy performance meant you had to pay a kidney and three fingers just so you can run the game somewhat smoothly this has a lot to do with the terrain generation The Entity spawning the particle effects and other game elements That cause the game to make your $400 PC turn into a nuclear reactor the game has improved drastically in the last couple of years in terms of optimizing its performance however this can still be massively improved upon with modifications so if you still feel like you’re lagging in Minecraft or if you Just want more FPS here are five mods that will dramatically increase your game’s performance number one sodium sodium is a free and open-source mod for Minecraft 1.16 plus it’s a fabric mod so you will require the fabric loader if you want to play it the mod replaces the Default video settings so so you can check if it’s installed by going to the video settings and things should look a lot different what does sodium actually do it optimizes the rendering coding of Minecraft for chunk rendering the mod makes use of geometry batching and draw pass consolidation which greatly reduces The amount of CPU overhead involved in rendering the world it’s more of a rendering engine than it is an optimization mod it uses a fully Rewritten system for generating chunk geometry this includes the biome colorization the lighting the shading passes this is way faster than the Vanilla code there are a bunch of other technical changes but you get the idea this mod will drastically improve your FPS in the game and optimize everything such as we’re loading too number two lithium lithium is another optimization mod made by the same Creator as sodium Actually and it is again for fabric it improves a number of systems such as game physics mob Ai and MOB ticking meaning that there’s less likely to be any issues when it comes to tick rates in the game or things players are doing or fire spreading or anything like that It’s a lot more optimized with this mod it won’t optimize your game quite as much as sodium but it will still make a drastic improvement especially if you’re playing on servers with other players number three phosphor this again is made by the same Creator as lithium and sodium this mod changes one of Minecraft’s most important graphical errors the lighting engine the lighting engine in Minecraft has been terrible over the years it’s gotten better of course but this mod improves on it once again this will improve the time it takes for new chunks to generate and will remove some of the nasty frame Stuttering you get when chunks are generating again it won’t have quite the benefit that sodium has sodium is just next level but these two lithium and phosphor are also very very good number four OptiFine OptiFine has been around since the dawn of time in Minecraft it feels like it’s been the number one Optimization mod for Minecraft for years and years and years and while it does do a lot for your game it won’t do everything optify is mainly focused on making your video settings a lot more customized to what you want to play for example if you want to play on super High settings and have the nicest lighting the nicest features if you want to play with shaders you will need to have OptiFine installed for those however if you play on an absolute toaster and you don’t want to deal with the graphical errors you can then lower all of your video settings to the Absolute minimum and get the maximum frame rate to let you play the game if you don’t care about the visual aesthetic so optify allows you to turn off a bunch of particle effects that appear in the game it allows you to turn down the chunk distance to an absolute Minimum it allows you to turn off things like vignette it allows you to toggle off rain toggle off snow weather effects that can decrease your performance a bunch of things like this random entity spawning there’s so many that it changes there also used to be a feature in Minecraft called autosave and it would basically save the game every 2 seconds causing the lag spikes of death it made it so that the limit was set to 30 if you changed it there’s also a zoom key so if you like the feature to be able to Zoom in on things then OptiFine has that if you want it I forgot to mention that OptiFine is a forge mod the other mods we looked at were fabric ones all three OptiFine is for Forge so yeah number five Starlight Starlite is quite similar to phosphor you can install it with Phosphor in fact and it will dramatically improve the light lighting errors in Minecraft as we all know the light engine in vanilla Minecraft incredibly slow so this mod rewrites the entire lighting engine it is also available on Forge and the mod creator has ported it to fabric as well so it is Available on both if you want to use it it won’t have the crazy impact that the video settings and OptiFine have or the performance benefits that sodium has but the lighting engine is definitely something that can be upgraded with this mod and that will do it for the five Mods that you can use to optimize your game hope they help you hope you get the FPS you want in mind craft let me know if they did help you out and if there’s any other questions you have I would be happy to answer them down in the comment Section thank you so much for watching see you in the next one take care Video Information
