Insane Hardcore Minecraft Advancement Hunt – Day 4

Episode last episode we did manage to yoink out another 16 advancements including mini advancements and major advancements we’re up to 32 out of 110 Majors with 34 out of 40 Foods 8 out of 34 monsters 29 out of 53 biomes 6 out of 24 animals should have been seven but I

Messed up breeding the axotal which was Derpy you hate to see it but it happens um and yeah looking good however today I’m not sure how many advancements we’re going to get to uh I would like to very seriously start working on our Iron Golem Farm um infrastructure and we do

Need to build some things today so yeah here we are in the beautiful town of ralm we were LED here by the star of ralm which is that dirt block that naturally spawned in the sky up there and thus we discovered this here vage and and thus we have started to make our

Little life out here and it’s been fantabulous fantabulous we haven’t caught any cats though which is mildly annoying we’ve set up a bunch of K cat traps all over the place and uh the cats have not been going into the boats um it it’s almost as if they’ve like stopped

Spawning or something I’m not entirely sure what’s what’s happened but no cats yet that’s fine we’ve got many months ahead of us in this series because of course we are not rushing the advancements we’re not speedrunning them we are just enjoying some good oldfashioned vanilla Minecraft together here on the

Twitch and uh we are basically playing as vanilla Minecraft as you can get I often see people asking what mods we’re running and stuff we are just running OptiFine because I love the fog of OptiFine and I just have a custom guy which is the Giga Corp uh darker color

Thing because the um the vanilla Minecraft G1 why actually hurts my eyes um I don’t know it’s it’s difficult to explain I have to show you okay so this is what we’re used to right this nice dark gray if I take this out right now we go back to vanilla you

Will see what I mean it it actually hurts my eyes look at this look how oh it’s so bright it actually hurts the r and i it’s it’s insanely bright isn’t it crazy bright or is this just me yes ow eyes hurting so yes um I like to play

With the darker texture pack it’s actually just the Dark theme texture pack from vanilla tweaks or yeah from you know it’s a Zuma voids thing and I just did a little tweak to it to add the Giga cor logo into it so it is just that um anyway welcome everybody I’m so glad

Get started on our Iron Golem Farm in our first attempt I I don’t know what I was doing I was actually thinking about it the other day how terribly I designed the first rendition of our Iron Golem Farm it was an embarrassment for a professional Minecrafter who has been

Playing this game since 2011 you would have thought that I would have been able to figure out how to make a safe Iron Golem Farm but nay nay friendos I failed and we died this time around we are going to be smart about this and we are going to do this in a

Much better way I have been pondering this afternoon how we might achieve this and and I think I have a a good plan that um it’s going to take a bit longer to to actually do but it’s going to be safer so look at this look at this in

The middle of this here Pond is this little island which is adorable look at this little thing oh it’s so cute this is just asking for something to be built on it right like look at this it’s glorious surrounded by water so we cannot die to mobs attacking

Us my thinking is we create a platform up here that is a dark room we spawn zombies in the dark room and other mobs too of course and we use that dark room to secure for us the zombie that we need I.E a zombie that will wear a helmet or

Take an item cuz we need a zombie in our farm that won’t despawn this way we don’t have to Wrangle zombies like we did last time uh and you know I think the reason that I died is because it was quite stressful and I kind of lost

Concentration a little bit so we do it safe we make a little zombie spawner chamber we spawn a couple zomber we give one of them a hat or whatever and uh then we kill all the rest of the mobs except for that one stick it in a boat and it chills there

While we build the Iron Golem Farm around it and once we have completed the farm we can put the zombie in position uh with like a I don’t know mine cart rail thing system and boom Bob’s your uncle Iron Golem Farm up and running so that’s what we’re going to

Try and do today guys we will try and do a couple of advancements here and there I would like to do the axotal advancement because we failed to do that at the end of the last episode I feel like we should knock that one out uh

Maybe after I cut down these trees we got to go pick up a couple more tropical fish though because that’s what axotal eat and and they uh you know if they want to get busy getting busy they need U tropical fish in their bailies by the

Autumn the the wind is blasting usually accompanied by rain blasting so hard that it stings your skin because it’s cold and it’s and it’s sharp in Winter you go no longer is a beautiful lovely soft gentle snow but a blizzard that can actually kill you because the wind takes

A temperature down you know- 20° or whatever wind is the worst it just ruins everything it ruins everything so wind you are the worst and um I hate you all right uh weather rant over friends how many saplings did we get 28 saplings that is more than enough beautiful we

Should probably just do a quick replant and uh then we can try crack out Crack on with an advancement let us breed a couple of axotal get our Axel lottle advancement for the the stream and then we can crack on with um getting some work done on our

Iron Golem Farm although I do want to put another row of carrots in one second we’ve we’ve been distracted I’ve I’ve noticed that my carrots are flourishing and I would like to propagate them for another line over here here we go beautiful beautiful oh Shield get out of my inventory dude

Jeez all right we have to replace this cuz we learned last time that podzol cannot be hoed for some reason I guess because it’s like got pine needles in it and stuff I guess it’s already acidic or something who knows who knows that is Minecraft for

You hey the rules don’t make sense at the best of times all right let’s plant these carrots and then we’re off we’re making carrots so that we can breed villagers eventually once we get the iron golem Farm up and running we need to make a villager breeder and then this way we

Can create all of the workers that we need we need like three or four blacksmiths we need three or four Librarians we need three or four Farmers we need a Fletcher we need maybe maybe we even go for a couple of cleric so we can get bottles of XP but we’ll be

Getting a ton of XP from Trading anyway so we we probably don’t have to worry too much about the cleric but he is the more the better you know all right that is a ton of wood excellent and let’s just keep the inventor nice and empty beautiful I

Think we should probably take an extra bucket because we messed up the breeding of the axotal last time didn’t we all right friends let us head off we know where to get the tropical fish um they’re all the way out in the warm ocean just past our savan biome so let’s

Go get some food for the axes and try and lock in at least one advancement today right as long as we do one advancement today I’m happy maybe we can try and do a couple of others but yeah one advancement I’m good kinor is back out of with a 10 months oh

Start collecting our sugar cane somewhere too right let’s start collecting sugar cane in here let’s keep track of that cuz at some point we’ll be making excess sugarcane that we won’t need anymore all right ters these things cook very fast now which is super cool love this addition to the game uh

Let’s Get Busy crafting friends what are we going to need we’re probably going to need if we’re just going to be using spro logs we need more axes and I think we should probably let’s collect some sand how much sand have we got we got rooted

Dirt uh I think we might need rooted dirt for some advancement I can’t remember what so maybe maybe we just go collect some dirt somewhere yes I think that’s a good good idea we’ll probably need one more shovel then in that case let’s make another shovel just go collect a couple stacks

Of dirt and we can use the dirt for scaffolding and all the other things that we need to start working on our Iron Golem farm and this inventory is absolutely stacked right now too many things too many things let’s put some things down don’t need the

Hoe okay here we go let’s take some more stacks of logs I don’t know how much we’ll need but these are all just going to be planks this entire Farm’s going to be made out of planks it’s it’s not going to be anything special so don’t expect a miracle

Friends um okay uh let’s go make a quarry Somewhere over the top of this hill chicken pooped yep let’s go over here this looks like a good spot to suck up some sand and we’ll maybe just get like two St Stacks or something like

This and uh we can get it done by the way uh have any of you out there been inspired to play a little bit of Hardcore Minecraft since we started this series I know Hardcore Minecraft can be a little bit intimidating but I would High highly recommend giving it a go

It’s it’s pretty fun I don’t think I would ever like make a permanent World hardcore because I don’t know basically once you get a a here’s how I see and this is the reason why I would never make like a hardcore series on YouTube either cuz I don’t know I just

Feel like it’s kind of pointless like if you’re going to play a hardcore world that isn’t permanent right so say you’re just going to play for a couple months or just for the holidays this makes perfect sense because it gives you a little bit of fear um which is quite fun

But if you want to play on a world like for a really long time um yes there is this kind of attraction to oh can I can I survive a hardcore world for like years sure that’s kind of interesting and whatever but the reality of Hardcore Minecraft is

Once you make um a raid Farm which is super easy to make and super op and you have access to infinite uh totems basically all you are doing is replacing this slot here with a totem right like what was once a very useful slot for Shields and um building blocks and

Torches and food just disappears just cross this out and then you spend years just with a totem in your off hand like I don’t know for me this feels redundant and I don’t know kind of kind of pointless for me but I totally understand the uh the

Attraction for it though it is it is very very cool like playing hardore Minecraft and knowing that you are uh you know vulnerable at all times this is kind of sweet I do like it okay this is going to be our mountain and you know what I have a

Suspicion that the star of ralm is a part of this structure right maybe this was like a mountain that didn’t render correctly and a block got left behind in the render kind of weird right kind of weird um but yes we need to clear all of this we’re just going to

Flatten this little island and upon which we are going to set up our Iron Golem bomb guys so let’s settle in for a little bit of Ren stoning um we tried to do this on day two in our first run we failed miserably we need to redeem

Ourselves and uh get this job done we also are going into this with like a ton of iron now so we can make hoppers so that we can make a collecting station for the golems and do a whole bunch of that stuff that we did not managed to do

Last time because we didn’t have the resources uh I got a little bit greedy I was rushing a little bit this time around we’re chilling A’s rat this is run number two yes we uh got obliterated on day two by a zombie you hate to see it but you love to see

It um and this this so This seed is like infinitely better than the last seed too it’s so cool it is a very cool seed so I’m very happy that we uh restarted personally nice to see also that uh you know one of the things that I’ve always

Said about Minecraft I you know it’s you don’t see it that much anymore because I think that the Minecraft Community around the world is kind of chilled a little bit but back in the day when Minecraft first started kicking off and getting really popular on YouTube and in the world and

Whatnot uh hello that is a lead guys that is a lead we must go slay sorry Trader is the guys is there a advancement with this fella is there an advancement Yep this is a random seed we actually fired the seed off together on stream no advancement for the Trader okay good

We can just destroy it then yep Trader Trader obviously as we start work must distract right I mean that’s just how Minecraft Works um yes we want to destroy this Trader because the lead is going to be super useful when moving animals and stuff around so this is actually oh we could

The iron and for those of you guys who are wondering why we’re making an iron golem Farm it’s because we’re going to get all of our gear we’re going to get everything from this farm so basically um let’s just turn Henley down basically what we’re going to do is

We’re going to use blacksmiths to generate emeralds and XP of course cuz we’re going to be using villagers to get everything that we need the blacksmith will give us all of our gear the weapon Smith will give us all of our tools and weapons then with all the emeralds that

We get from them we will get golden carrots from the farmers we will get arrows from the fletches and we will get all the XP that we need for enchanting that is the plan and I think generating a ton of iron is going to be the quickest way for

Us to do this now the way that we’re going to do it is we’re going to trap three villagers in here and then we are going to scare them um with this zombie so there’s going to be a piston like a so Henley is going to be chilling on the Piston uh

Hello like this and every few seconds or so the Piston will fire and push Henley up and that’ll scare the villagers and that’ll spawn a zombie above uh in a water canal and the water canal will flush the the Golems over the edge of this Farm into uh a lava blade where

They will be roasted and we’ll have Hoppers underneath to collect the iron ingots so a very simple plan now the question is can I remember cuz JT helped me make this last time don’t have JT’s here today but or no it was real guard that helped actually I don’t have real

GS here today but let me see if I can remember how we do this so we need a redstone torch like this sticking out of this block right no uh wait I I’ve already forgotten how oh no no is this how it works then we have Redstone like this into repeaters and

Basically what we’re going to try and do is make like a repeater Loop here that just Loops itself so it’ll be it’ll be something like we’re going to need a few more repeaters though okay let’s just make a couple I needed to make more repeaters H we can just do it like

Version I might do more of this you know just a good old plain old Minecraft the way that Notch intended it to be it is very enjoyable I missed a spot on the wheat field no [Laughter] oh that might have been a bit over dramatic my apologies right so this is the Golem’s um spawning area right it’s important that you keep the fences unconnected um because if there is a block here right uh if there’s a block here the Golems can can get off of this block

And stand on this block because of the fence so you need the fences to be clear I messed up the Piston again oh I did I did mess yep yep I did mess up the Piston again you are right I was trying to make it look cool again right always with the Aesthetics
