Insane Minecraft Beta – The Last Block Shakedown

One of your world tours I mean you have many world tours but I think it was one of the first ones and uh I love the way you play Minecraft it’s such an interesting view on the game and I’m looking forward to some of your future

Stuff as well thank you thank you so why did you choose beta so long all right so I guess the the easiest way to put it is its simplicity so I originally started playing back in the last version of alpha I was using my friend’s account playing in

Browser and I stopped playing Minecraft right around the update where the ocean temples came out that was like the last version I played and then like randomly one day after work I was like you know what let me go play some Minecraft and I looked at a YouTube video cuz I had no

Idea what happened to the game and I saw like the craziest stuff like didn’t even look like the same game anymore so I loaded up the last version I remember playing and having the most fun with which was one which was beta 1.7.3 and I don’t know if it’s because I

Was like a young kid and at the time like Skype was really big there wasn’t any Discord and I had friends from Estonia that we would play on a server with and this other kid named Anthony who was from North Carolina and I was

Like 11 or 12 at the time and just that whole experience I think uh really this is like the version that all happened in so I thought to come play it again and started posting it on Reddit and then saw there was like a huge like Niche community of it which I

Thought was pretty cool yeah I think from i’ I’ve seen a bunch of Minecraft youtubers strictly play on beta and from what I think I think a lot of it could be from Nostalgia from just going back to that time where life was better and

It reminds you of that and I I also think it could be just that it’s a whole completely different game and it honestly 100% some people just prefer that version of Minecraft compared to the new one which obviously you do as well so you I mean you’ve been playing on

This version for quite a long time for like years now yeah I’ve been two two years now just about two years I started my single player world at like the end of november-ish but I it’s a totally different game and on my last video I spoke about the implications of adding

Sprinting to the game and like like you know a lot of people you know you see arguments online of people going back and forth and and they like to call this like a survival game and it’s kind of if you look at the Modern versions there’s a lot more survival um elements

Implemented in in the modern ones like growing there’s a lot more crops to grow you can breed animals it’s it’s a little bit more indepth in that survival aspect but it’s a definitely a completely different game like you look from a sprinting perspective like when you’re walking around everything you do in the

Beta you’re walking so from a combat perspective they add sprinting you’re now just able to disengage from monsters and run away which is way easier and not as immersive uh from an AR like a experience a gameplay experience when building a lot of people build paths

Right and part of the beauty in beta of walking along paths even though you don’t have to you know I could choose to walk you know 10 ft off to the right in the grass it’s no inconvenience to me in the video game but why people like to

Walk on paths is how the scenery around those paths unravel as you walk through it going into more modern versions of the game when you’re either sprinting riding a horse um on those elyas with the freaking Rockets uh you know that’s that’s a completely different way of experiencing game that that little path

That would take you like a minute and a half to walk down you would see all these different sites now that’s gone in like a second on an elytra so that whole experience of just how you kind of observe the landscape changes that that that changes everything that changes how

You build that changes how you design a city you know so it’s definitely it’s not all just Nostalgia this is a fundamentally different game than the modern one yeah I I totally agree I I think when I I watch older videos there seems to be like this charm about beta

Minecraft that seems to have been lost somewhere along the way and that could stem from just the uh the difference in the textures obviously the textures have changed over time but also like the lighting I think made a big impact also there’s another thing I don’t know how to describe this but like

Old Minecraft you you feel alone you like really feel like you’re alone in that world and that it’s it’s like all yours to like to change and Conquer if you will and build all over and just explore so we go back to the whole Survival game perspective right is it a

Survival game is it a building game beta 1.8 comes out they start adding RPG elements into the game the the alone feeling you speak of is actually a vital part of this game’s DNA right so I I speak a lot about how the game is a um

God what’s the word not territorial it’s uh you’re conquering it’s like world Conquest you know like you’re in this world it’s scary you know you’re alone you get this Eerie feeling you got all these monsters that comeing yeah it’s like Eerie it’s like a very it’s all

It’s not like I I’ve even seen people like say Minecraft is a horror game which is kind of a stretch but it at some points it does feel really like scary like it really gets to you like oh man I got to get out of here like I got

To go back home correct and it’s that feeling that dictates a lot of how we played so I build this giant this godforsaken giant wall around my basee that quite literally took months and months and months to build and I do that because I’ve always done that that’s

Just always how I’ve played the game and it’s because like this is my part of the world like if I build a wall around my base like I’m saying like this is mine and I feel like a sense of security and just like a sense of I don’t know like I

Just feel like that Eerie fearing goes away when I’m in the wall and then when I’m outside the wall I’m like oh God I hope I can find my way back like this is Uncharted Territory out here and that changes when you add elytras and sprinting and a lot of this other

Stuff that make the game easier and you could definitely say the game is easier I I would totally think the game I think anybody anybody that has experience in Old Minecraft and new Minecraft will admit that newer versions are way easier the the benefits the benefits of enchantments and like beacons again and

Stuff like that elytras of course definitely make the game I guess you could say faster because you make improvements you can you can just do things way faster correct now the his name is s chewy he is an OG in the game started he has a long long LP dating from like October

2010 he would make the argument okay so the new game is easier right but does that make it better because it’s it’s easier to get things and his argument was he liked to build things in Grand scale and in beta if you’re going to build something in Grand scale and

You’re doing it legitimately in survival there is a significant amount of time uh into resource collecting that in the modern versions with enchantments and beacons and stuff like that you can definit and trading villager trading is broken in terms of like uh precious materials but even if you’re just

Looking at it from like a cobblestone and building material perspective still trading it that stuff so it allows you to build at a bigger scale easier uh so I guess it splits the community in two in that perspective because I personally that whole like resource collection and Resource

Management aspect of the game is is something I enjoy it’s something that I guess gives me dopamine spending hours getting these materials and watching my stash grow oh yeah of whereas you know in the in the modern game it’d be way easier to do that so I guess it would

Give me less satisfaction because I here’s my question is I’m I I play this game from a building perspective I suck at Redstone I don’t care to learn Redstone it stresses me out I don’t want to think too hard when playing this cuz I use this as a way to

Relax you definitely can make the argument that if I love building so much the the modern version of the game would definitely be a better building game there’s hundreds of more blocks to choose from you know you have creative mode and all that so so why stay in the

Beta and I sometimes I think it’s Nostalgia aspect other times I think that when you’re playing it survival and there is this big challenge it kind of gives your builds more meaning more purpose so if I had everything available to me it just wouldn’t be the same I

Wouldn’t build the same builds just wouldn’t serve a purpose you know they they would see everything would be too easy so it’s I would definitely think that the beta is a definitely different game it’s almost entirely from every aspect you look at it yeah I I personally strictly stick with survival

Mode and that is part of the reason you said it the the Fulfillment you get from collecting resources and using them just means a lot more cuz like you really built this with your hands like when you look at this thing when it’s done you you collected every single block and you

Placed it do you ever think you’ll reach a point in your world where you’ll get bored oh I’ve already reached that point so that that so the key is the key is to anyone out there who struggles uh with keeping a survival world going for a

Long time is I get bored all the time you know I spent a whole month digging Cobble just straight down on three different quaries and that was boring as hell and it was a it was a it was work that was work that would I did not I

Came home that was dedication so there’s two ways to look at it I get bored of this and now what I do when I get bored is I just kind of start a different project or go to a different world like I started the mod series I played with a

Different world with some mods and had some fun with that and then came back and I did like a little fall Series where you know it just like a different part of this world where I was like living on like a farm and you know different ways just to keep it different

That’s cool and that that that helped the boredom but another thing you can you can look at it is just being disciplined and I guess that’s really about like what your goals are so like my goal was like really I want to finish this wall I want to make this huge wall

That you can’t even see the end of and I’m going to do it no matter what and I would dedicate like 3 hours a day after work to just either dig or Build That Wall until it was done and it was just because I I for some reason I put

It as a priority I you probably shouldn’t that’s not good advice this is a uh this is a video game you should not let it come before other priorities but if you do have the luxury of having spare time that you can just kill like that and that is important to you then

Just make it a priority and you’ll bring that goes for anything that can transcend Minecraft you know that’s just achieving goals in in general dedicating time to go achieve them so if your goal is I want to build this crazy crazy building but it’s taking me you know 4

Months well then you have to understand if you want that Vision to come to life then that’s the dedication it’s going to take or you can pause it go play on a different world month later come back and you might have a different spark spark might be

Reunited yeah I the if you don’t know who Etho is which he’s been playing the game yeah I think everybody that plays Minecraft does but one of the the Great he said was to avoid boredom you you need to have multiple projects going at the same time you need to have places

Where you can go to get away from a project that you’ve been working on and just work on something else and just to debrief and just chill um and I like to I like to grind materials I I Love mining I love chopping forests down and collecting stuff that’s my way to chill

Um and when it comes time to build a giant project I’ll I’ll just grind that out and if I need to take a break I’ll take a break um but to add on to what I was saying earlier um if you’ll ever get bored are you do you think you’ll ever

Reach a point where you you’ll just feel like oh man I I think it’s time to update I think it’s time to get the new blocks and the new mobs and the new resources so fun fact I did do that there was a pretty long Hiatus where I

Didn’t upload any videos and that’s because I reached a really big point of borom believe that was I’m trying to I don’t I can’t really remember a date of when this happened and I did update this world to the newest version um I I made

A whole bunch of farms and bees and and stuff like that and I played it for about maybe two three weeks on the newer versions and it was kind of fun but it didn’t really Captivate me the same way the beta did and I ultimately just said H you know I’m

Going to scrap this and go and go back and I’m trying to just remember how I felt like why I felt I had to go back like what why I felt this was such a better experience I’m not sure what that was I think I’m just so used to this version

This is just what I prefer but I did I did update the world I just didn’t record a video on it and I never stuck with it obvious viously and I did enjoy the bee the the bee feature for some reason I really enjoyed farming like the

Whole reason I actually upgraded it as I was playing on I was doing something I’m like oh man like growing all these crops is cool and there was so much different crops to grow in the modern version and for some reason I really like the farming aspect of the game for some

Reason I don’t know why but I do and the idea of all these different crops I was like I want all those crops so I had like all these farms and all the bees I oh know I just thought the bees were so cool like I feel like if you could add

Bees into beta I’d be very happy modders find a way to do it add bees to Beta yeah not that like BSB mod that was just like those boxes like I want them adorable bees flying around yeah I I do like I don’t know if you’ve seen the the

Minecraft live event where they’re adding all these new types of copper to the next update but I do like that they’re doing that because that actually gives bees more of a purpose cuz you’re going to need more of the honeycomb to you know make it wax or whatever I’m

Actually thinking about making a bee farm in my world so I I do like that bees are pretty cool I kind of slept on them when they first came out I was like ah they’re just like whatever but I can see why they get they’re going to be

Become a better a bigger part of the game I think I see a lot of people hate on the mobs that get added and I never knew why because I always loved having more mobs like Mo Creatures I think is a great mob and I remember when I was a kid before I

Knew how to mod the game I’d see everyone playing with Mo Creatures like oh that’s so awesome they have so many different animals even if the animals serve no no purpose I I enjoy having more animals it just makes it more immersive so what if there’s no use for

This alligator is a freaking alligator in the water I love that so you know I I do think that’s one of the great one of the few things I like about the newer versions is the the expansion of mobs how useful they may be doesn’t matter to

Me yeah I I slightly agree with that um I do think though that there should be a a reason to why a mob is in the game I kind of talked about this in a video but if Mojang keeps implementing these mobs for for example I guess the you could

Say the sniffer a better example is a polar bear I do you like the polar bear I didn’t even know there were polar bears in the game to be honest exactly exactly I think if they’re going to add a mob into the game or if there already

Is a mob in the game that already exists they should give it a feature and it doesn’t need to be too outrageous it can just be like a simple thing maybe like a special thing that they drop to just make it a little bit more

Useful uh I one of one of my ideas is that I think they should or it’s not even my idea I heard this from someone else but um with the the new dog armor that’s coming out I don’t know if you heard about that they’re adding dog

Armor with the arm did the armadillo win the armadillo won so good so they’re going to add armadillos to get dog armor but we already have rabbits in the game that drop rabbits high that doesn’t really do anything you can just make leather with it which why

Would you do that when you can just get a cow right so I don’t see why they couldn’t have just made the dog armor with the rabbits to give that animal more of a use maybe they don’t want to make people go farm rabbits which whatever but people are going to farm animals

Anyway it’s strange whenever I hear them mention like oh we don’t want to add this because we don’t we don’t like they didn’t want to add fireflies because they didn’t want like like but yet they you have testificates that are literally in like everyone’s World being held

Captive in camps and then like murdered if you don’t get the right trade that’s that’s completely fine those are clearly people and people play with them as people that’s totally fine but they draw the limit at firefli it’s just such like a silly nonsensical excuse to not add

Things like the fire like I literally when they didn’t add the fireflies I remember I was keeping up somewhat on the uh that I don’t even know if it was at 1.19 or 1.20 I’m not sure I remember saying when there was all that flak that Mojang was getting because of that if

There ever was going to be a renaissance of the beta day it was going to be during that period where people are so fed up with the game they go to older versions yeah I that’s why there are so many beta players because they were I

Mean most of them were just fed up with the new updates and I’m sure you’ve talked to people uh we can get into the uh back to Beta S&P in a little bit and you can talk about that but I’m sure there’s people out there in the beta

Community that were just fed up with new Minecraft and they just wanted to go back to the simpler times um but yeah the back to Beta SMP tell me about that that was a really cool thing that I’m really happy to be a part of the uh

I remember pepper so how it how it all came to be is we all started uploading videos and just organically we started following each other and commenting on each other’s videos and then it became like oh let’s join like a Discord and then came the idea of like yo we should

Do like a server where all of us record on it like a mind crack thing from back in the day and that was like oh hell yeah because I have not experienced multiplayer beta in like 12 years of my life and getting to experience that again was was absolutely

Wild absolutely wild like that’s an experience you just don’t have very often and there are a bunch of great creative guys and just getting to be in that kind of atmosphere stal great great group of guys and it’s it’s cool that there are so many people that have all different

All different reasons of what brought them back here like the boy Ryan absolute mad lad you want to talk about like a mad lad that is a mad lad dude has the dedication of a warrior to get the amount of obsidian he’s needed and to the scale of his Alpha World

Absolutely wild everyone on there is just so talented that’s cool I you know I did watch a a tour of the world I forgot what the video was called but what stuck out to me is that the the builds in the the back to Beta server they were almost

Exactly how builds were or how like they gave up the same aura that builds used to be like back in the day so that’s just proof that players really didn’t change like the game changed because there’s there’s a lot of these I I mostly because of the implementation

Of like tons of new blocks of course but like some of these builds are just they just give off that like new Minecraft feel but with like skills I I don’t know how to say it if you feel what I mean so I mean you can so we could break that

Down so like what influences how people build from a Urban Design standpoint right so so people built a certain way in multiplayer servers back in the day due to the fact there was no sprinting so when you’re when you’re in a community where there’s no sprinting and

Movement in general is is a difficulty you’re going to build closer together and you’re you’re you’re you keep putting yourself more into a box and sometimes with these constraints is it’s not a bad thing so everything pre 1.8 no sprinting there’s no horses there’s no

Elytra to get around and if you’re on a huge server with a bunch of people and you’re all trying to you know build reasonably close it’s going to resemble more of a city things are going to be on kind of on top of each other and how you

Build on the landscape you know the whole change from you know this world generation to what changed in beta 1.8 you know that plays a big way into how people build so there’s a lot of different factors that play into how people go about designing a build and

And you know even if they’re not coherently doing it like even if they don’t consciously know they’re doing it these things are affecting how they’re doing it so you know you remove sprinting from the game and flying from the game people are going to build way closer together whereas you look on a

Modern server now where everyone can travel thousands of blocks in a blink of an eye uh by flying that definitely influences how people are going to build you know how the scale of how people build you know it’s so easy to get resources in the new version that you

Can build at a much larger scale and what that does is it kind of makes large scale things less impressive where in the older versions if you wanted to build that scale and you did successfully build a huge scale thing you know people were impressed by that

Because they understood the time it took to do it so it’s definitely like I don’t think the players Chang like I think if you took some of these people that are making crazy worlds in um the modern version of the game and you just put them into a beta world I think they’re

Going to build differently based off of the constraints like they’re not going to you don’t need to have like the just the way everything’s laid out is going to change because movability and how you access things is so much different in the new versions versus the old ones

Yeah I also I just want to point out one of my favorite things about the old Minecraft servers and the old hermitcraft servers is that like in the spawn Villages like everybody was so close together it felt like a real Community it felt like a real town and

You were just like living in it with them it was like it was like a real cozy thing that compared to servers now I play on a server with my friends um with my friends in person and like I mean it’s it’s up to date it’s not a beta

Server so obviously people are going to spread out a little bit but I I try to I try to like point out hey guys let’s like stick together let’s kind of like make like a little town together uh but they they kind of spread out without even knowing it and that is definitely

Due to sprinting that’s a that’s a good point and to just piggyback off that now that I’m just thinking you know you think from a scale perspective I remember back in the day if you wanted to build and if you’re on a survival server if you wanted to build a large

Scale thing you would get a bunch of people you’d be like hey can anyone donate some Cobblestone can anyone help me build this and you’d have like a team of like three to five people helping you build it because it was so hard to get resources to build something of a large

Scale you would just naturally if you’re on a server ask for help and get help and people would contribute and there is a community aspect of it and in the newer versions since it’s easier to get resources building that Cathedral you don’t need to ask for help to build it

So now it just becomes a your Cathedral and not the community’s cathedral and I think you know that is two very different ways of building a community Cathedral is going to have design input from five different people where your Cathedral is just yours so from a multiplayer build pers perspective if

You saw a lot of large scale buildings that was a team of people building that and a lot of different people’s ideas getting put out there so just yeah that’s a big Community thing too as well yeah that’s interesting I didn’t I never really thought about Community builds

Because I actually I did do a build with one of my friends on Cornerstone which is a server I play on we built a giant hockey arena together and yeah that was that was such a fun project to like work with someone and think of things cuz the the result turned out completely

Different than my original thought in my head like and that was definitely due to the collaboration part of it of course so yeah I I remember there were so many different collaboration projects way back in the day now I think about it like different videos I remember this

One video I it’s like I forgot the name of it it’s like way way deep in the depths of YouTube but uh they were digging at this humongous line it was like a giant Quarry and I think Notch joined the game or something to check it out it was like

Way back but if somebody can find that video please uh link it down the description because I’d like to see that again but like Community builds like that like it does feel like it holds a lot more meaning because it’s like it couldn’t have been done without you and

You needed this help to complete this this goal yeah because it becomes it becomes a lot bigger than the individual and that was I mean we were kind of SPO the time a lot of again a lot of it’s not Nostalgia it’s definitely a different game but you know you spoke

Earlier about like old you know beta Minecraft videos have like a certain type of feel to them that era of just internet when Minecraft came out like that 2010 2011 as a year like bigger than just Minecraft like you go into just YouTube at that time the internet

At that time the world at that time like Ray William Johnson’s being on YouTube like the the the videos were so raw back then like you know you look you go look back at like the yog cast original videos and stuff like that like I remember watching when I would come home

From school that is such a that’s like right before the internet everything became about money it was like the the very last like like genuine part of the internet was still there where things were being made not to be uh monetized but they were being made because people

Cared and people enjoyed it I think Machinima was there but it was it was before YouTube became like it had the monetization system I believe I I forget what year that came out but that the that being implemented had such a such a like change on the whole not

Even Minecraft YouTube like just YouTube in general of course but like now you look at like what gets up with it’s like there’s a there’s there’s a format like there’s a there’s a yeah there’s a theme there’s the 100 day BS there’s like this this like there’s a there’s a script

That all these different creators go and and hop on and do that when you go back to 2011 the reason these videos have a different feel is the people that are creating them were creating them just to share to be creative exactly show people what was possible exactly and that

Changes a lot how the video so now when you look at a MC video on YouTube you you immediately view it as a product like this is someone that someone produced as a product like this is this is what this is It’s a product I’m not really interested in in this product

Whereas before that you didn’t your subconscious didn’t view it as a product this oh this is a someone World they created or some cool thing they made let me check it out like I have like I literally exclusively if I’m going to watch any MC content on YouTube it’s

Going to be beta content and I look at stuff I try to go you know I have a whole thing I share with monster where I’ll look for like the most underground hidden video from 12 13 years ago that has like barely any views but it has

Like a really cool build in it and it’s just it’s crazy to see you know what what was going on back then we didn’t even know we didn’t even know yeah and also it was great because during that era people were like discovering things in the game by

Themselves sometimes without the help of YouTube you know what’s interesting that you mentioned that that just reminded me of a thank you for mentioning the whole like figure it out yourself is that was an interesting mechanic of the game that they went away from so I remember when I first started they like

Items didn’t have an actual name uh so like people were calling the crafting bench a workbench they called iron steel they called sugarcan res yeah and uh they called uh uh what’s it called uh gunpowder sulfur correct and with crafting uh like I remember Notch and in

The updates he wouldn’t tell you what changed in the updates he would just update the game and people would have to figure out what changed and I always thought that that was such a really cool concept especially for a survival game because it was kind of like if you know

You know so like the players would have to get together like I didn’t know that you could make charcoal for a very very long time until I was on a server and someone’s like yeah dude why don’t you just make charcoal I’m like what do you

Mean and they and I just didn’t know like had no idea charcoal was even in the game someone literally had to tell me about it for me to know that and I and I think it’s interesting that they went away from that and they decided to give everything a proper name and like

What are your thoughts why do you think they did that and do you think that that’s the right choice or would you prefer it if they kind of leaned into that well all right I’ll I’ll answer your your uh question a little bit but just imagine like the thought of just

Like testing different recipes out in the crafting table like you just started Minecraft just testing random things out and something just works and you’re like oh my God this is like the craziest feeling ever like I just made this thing like I got to share this I got to share

This with other people you can do this like but yeah to to answer your question I I do think making it easier for people to figure out how to do things and how to craft things definitely made it easier for new players it just made it easier for a

More wide mainstream audience I I think that’s probably one of the main reasons why and also naming items just it kind of it kind of makes sense on a so so it makes it more it’s easier by by not having the secret things but do you think it’s better do I

Think it’s better do I think like do you think that if they never if they never like made the recipe book are you saying correct and correct and they didn’t tell people what changed like yeah that’s way it’s way better to get a game you know you have a wider

Audience cuz cu the the downside is harder right it’s now more difficult game because you know you don’t have a very clear understanding of what your limits are and you know you have to figure it out as you go along yeah but do you think that’s do you think that’s

Better or worse like do you think it would be a cooler game if it was everything was just if you know you know type of or deal and it would kind of force a community to help like the there would naturally just be Community to go to for help in that case yeah

I I guess I had I have to say it does it does make it a little it does make it a little better I do think but also going back to that point where beta Minecraft is just a completely different game than the new Minecraft I I remember

The days where I had to look up on YouTube how to make an iron pickaxe like I remember those days it it they did not tell you how to make gun or not gunpowder but TNT they didn’t tell you how to make any of that or a painting or

A bed there weren’t even beds or a chest or something like that I it’s kind of interesting I never really thought about that is the CRA is a recipe book making the game better or worse because that’s like a whole mechanic of the game like that was an entire like vital I mean

That literally spawned Paul sarus Jr and his entire had like so that aspect was a mechanic of the game of no one knows what the hell’s going on we’re in this you know open world with no guide of what to do or how to do it and naturally because of that it spawned

An entire like Creator and multiple creators out of it with tutorials and if that stayed like that I don’t necessarily think that it would be harmful for the game I mean you look at like really complex games like um what is it that one everyone plays that

Has like extractions um it’s kind of like pubg but it’s not pubg can’t think of the name of escape from tarov like that’s a very inp in-depth game that goes like crazy in like DayZ is another really in-depth game that there’s not really a lot of guidance to and it’s

Like it’s if you know you know type ordeal so I I don’t really know the answer I don’t know if it if the game would be better if they leaned into that or not I just think that I it kind of like makes you wonder what this would have been if they really

Leaned into that and said you know what every update we’re not going to tell you what we updated here’s update 3.0 figure it out and then like the whole Community is trying to go together to figure out like what they add like imagine like they didn’t tell anyone they added the

Nether like they just did like a little like a like like a little teaser like a I don’t know some like mystery clue or something every update like for the big thing just like a screenshot yeah yeah and someone figured out like oh if you

Armor now what do I do in the game and it’s like if you if you need direction then you’re not going and I don’t even know why you even play this game if you’re someone who needs such concrete Direction even still even with all the RPG elements in the modern

Version it’s still an open World sandbox game it might be diluted with other aspects more so than before but it’s still at its core an open World sandbox game and it’s like you don’t what do you mean what do you do now you do anything now know there’s two types of people

There are people that seek Direction and there are people that see opportunity you know like I don’t you if you need someone to tell you what to do next then then you need to get out of that mindset entirely that’s not how you play this

Mechanics of the game shape how you’re going to build there’s a like we went over before there’s a lot of things that shape your design and shape how you’re going to build something if you’re watching a tutorial on how to build a house you’re not building based

Off of need you’re not building based off a situation you’re just following a plan and then when that plan’s over with you move on to the next plan and to the next plan until eventually you run out of plans to follow and then you’re like

All right I have nothing else to do I’m going to stop playing the game whereas if you build off a per if you build off a situation you build off a purpose like all right I’m going to build this giant tree in the game that’s what I feel like

Building I just watched Avatar I want to build a giant tree but in order to get all this wood I’m going to need to design and build a tree farm so that I can efficiently and effectively get Lumber to build this massive project now I’ve I’ve the game is you’re you’re

Solving problems with blocks here’s my problem I need to get a lot of lumber here’s my solution I’m going to build a tree farm like that’s that’s that’s the game that’s that’s the fundamental part of the game no one tells you how how to build it that’s something I had to learn

For myself and that’s one of the biggest things I’ve ever learned about this game is that when you have something when you’re when you’re building something and you want to be near it it needs to have purpose that’s like the whole basis for my survival world which is I I’m

Building a city and every single building in that city has a purpose in it like for example one building has a sugarcan farm another has a wool Farm if I didn’t put these things in these buildings there would be no no point to building them and I I used to play

Survival Mode and I used to just build these giant things and I had no connection to them because they didn’t have a purpose there was no reason for me to go to these things and like enjoy looking at them and I think for new players that want to enjoy the game build with

Purpose and yeah that’s just that’s one of the biggest things I ever learned how do you feel about the the bosses that this game has added over the years um so the the Ender Dragon I think the Ender Dragon is a it’s it’s a great way to end like quote

Unquote like end the game you know um because it it does feel like that payoff there’s so many factors that go into defeating the Ender Dragon like you have to do so many different things to complete this one goal that I I do think they they kind of completed that

Successfully uh the Wither on the other hand the thing is with wither skulls is they’re pretty much farmable and you can get as many beacons as you want so some people are going to disagree with this but I don’t think it was done as good as it could have been done um

They are very difficult to fight and they are kind of fun to fight but and when when you do get that W uh is it called the nether star or the Wither star I think it’s called the nether star when you get that nether star it is very

Um f fulfilling and you get do get to use that Beacon uh what other bosses oh yeah we have the warden I don’t know if you count the is like The Vindicator as a boss like the one from the Woodland mansion and then the Elder Guardian uh

The Elder Guardian having an ocean boss is pretty cool they are very easy though some people think they’re difficult but they’re so easy Once you learn like where they are you just go to those areas and you can just like maneuver and just kill them like if you have a water

Breathing potion so yeah that they could make them a little bit more difficult to kill also they could put I think they could put like some like chests or something in Ocean Monuments to make it a little bit more interesting um also okay yeah the the woen Mansion

H the thing those things are ugly they’re so rare there’s there’s like one every 20,000 it might even be more than that like 20,000 blocks um I think I how far did I have to go I think I went like 18,000 blocks I forget it was something like that

Something crazy to just find this thing they are pretty ugly I when they did come out they were so huge it was like oh my god dude this is crazy uh when they added the Woodland Mansion did they have elytras yet uh so w Mansions came out

Uh did elos come out 1.9 N I think yeah they came out 1.9 I don’t know okay so Wen manions were added in the same update as dark oak biomes Acacia bi let me look that up right now now it’s and the reason I ask is because

As we were speaking about before about how you know your means of transportation affect the way you design and build a city and build together one 11 that’s when they so was added after that’s interesting cuz I was going to say you know when you have an elytra and

You can move so far so fast it then almost requires like then it kind of requires that Woodland Mansion to be one every 20,000 blocks because you could fly 20,000 blocks so fast but I guess you could still ride horses and Sprint to find that Mansion so 20,000 blocks is

Still not what 20,000 blocks is in beta but you like that’s a great example right there of how sprinting and just transportation in general affects the rest of not only build design but game design as a whole because now you know in beta if you said yeah you’re going to

Find this this little Mansion every 20,000 blocks some players don’t go 20,000 blocks in their entire world like ever I doubt more than 5% of players it might be lower than that I doubt more than like 3% of players have ever gone to a woodland Mansion like legitimately

In survival mode and so that’s a great point to make so it’s like that that feature so like what’s the point of adding in something that is that rare to find where such a small percent of people actually even experience it right like why are you going to Hype up this

Update hype up this feature that nobody gets to experience you know what I mean like I understand the the importance and the novelty of something being rare but I think that there’s definitely a diminishing point of no return where it becomes so incredibly rare that you just don’t even care about it

Anymore because you’re just not going to experience it right I they could definitely take the Woodland Mansion idea and improve on it to make it better but for for how long it’s been in the game and how long it’s stayed the same I mean what do you you get the uh totems

Totems of undying from it you probably hate those right I don’t even know dude I’m so far gone on any modern like I are those like those like little Squidward things I see people hold yeah yeah I thought that was only for hardcore mode oh yeah yeah no actually I think

The the totems were added after like a different update oh no wait no they were added in I don’t know I forget what was it the village and pillage was it really that long ago I don’t know but yeah they uh definitely made dying less of a

Probability if you have a raid farm and you can just Farm those and get a double chest full but yeah that’s a whole different thing uh what is the last boss the warden oh we we haven’t gotten to your opinions on the bosses yet I’ll just skip through this but yeah the

Warden um making it a mechanic where you have to avoid it because sound is what activates it is pretty interesting you can if you have an Electra though you can just cheese it like you can just fly away from it which is pretty much that’s what I did when I

Went to the ancient city like 10,000 blocks away um it took me about a year or maybe less than a year maybe like 10 months to go to an ancient city cuz I had no reason to go to one other than getting that one enchanted book that’s a problem right there and of

Itself yeah um what you mentioned about you know I didn’t go to this ancient city for 10 months cuz I literally couldn’t find find a reason to go like also the the another reason is because my world is kind of old not really it’s only 3 years old but it’s it’s gotten to

That point where a lot of the chunks around me have been explored so it’s not going to spawn so I have to go super far out to find it you know what would be interesting is if they added because like you would think by now right

Because this was this has been a problem what you’re talking about like the whole chunk thing since the game began a new update comes out you got to go thousands of miles away it’s interesting that they never added like an ability of like I don’t know if you

Remember like the MC Maps or MC edit where you can like select an area and delete the trunks outside of it and regenerate trunks in a new version it’s interesting that the that Mojang never made an in-game way of doing that because that is such a huge problem and

It’s honestly like a pretty big hindrance when you’re talking about adding new updates like even just thinking from beta 1.7 like that’s such a huge issue like oh my God my my world right now is 500 megabytes large and if I even did update it you know I remember

When I updated it to the new version I literally had to put myself in uh creative to just what do you do like I uh teleported thousands of blocks away to get to the new stuff to experience it cu the world’s just so big like you would think that that’s such a vital

Part of the experience a vital oh a new update so why didn’t Mojang just add something where I could easily select an area in my world and delete all the chunks outside of it so I can experience their new updates because then what ends up happening is either it’s such a uh it

Becomes so what do you call it not uninviting such a a huge labor of task for me to go experience the new stuff that I almost don’t even care to go do it because it’s such a pain for me to go try and find like imagine now I update

My world and I want to go try and find a woodland mansion that task right there you’re asking so much of me to do that I don’t want to do that I rather not to be honest with you I ra I don’t think it’s worth my time to go so that that’s a

Huge problem and it’s a the the simple way to fix it is just add that capability to some easily even if you didn’t even want to do it outside a game maybe they just made a block where I placed one block in this corner and I place another in another corner and it

Makes a square and I can literally just reset all the chunks outside of it or do it with in like a you know something in the launcher kind of like mcedit where I can just delete chunks outside of a specific area that would definitely help a lot with that I’m just thinking about

That that wood that 20,000 block Woodland Mansion thing really had me thinking and that that is a huge I think problem to this day it’s funny that it’s funny that you point out um they should add they should be adding the feature to like delete chunks because that’s exactly what the manager

That’s been the way it’s been since the game began and if they’re wondering why there’s frustration in the community like and like you just mentioned I didn’t go to this city because there was no reason for me to travel pretty far my world’s pretty old I got to do a lot of

Work to get to this new city and and why am I even going to do all that work to get this one enchanted book like from a gameplay perspective they need to fix that that’s something that need that they need to work on I mean I’m not a game designer

Or anything but I am a player of the game for many many years and uh that that if they just easily fixed the ability for me to delete chunks maybe updating it to the most current version wouldn’t be as opposing as it is MH also another small thing it does save

Space if you can delete all those extra chunks every time I have to make the backup of my world I have to delete like all the backups from like months ago because it just takes up so much space cuz my world is like 800 megabytes or whatever so that’s like gigabytes of

They’re getting larger in scale would be to just make videos of them and that was really all it took for me to get on and and make videos and i’ I’ve experimented with many different types of videos I deleted a bunch off this channel I had

Like a let’s play that I would talk about some crazy stuff like no filter talk about whatever I wanted and then I kind of refined it into just world up dates are are you the channel maybe I shouldn’t bring this up no no I an open

Book I I no no no I stand 10 toes down on everything you could bring anything up all were you the channel I remember this way back you started talking about like Amelia airart didn’t fly that plane or something was that you yeah no I was

Talking Helen Keller oh no it was like Helen Keller yeah yeah dude they I Helen Keller’s caretaker claims that at some so there’s conflicting stories here cuz I read read some of the evidence and some of what she said is just that Helen Keller uh had control of the aircraft

For a few minutes and another report that she says that she landed the aircraft so her Helen Keller’s caretaker was definitely um extorting her not extorting like um exploiting use using her basically for her own financial gain and like coming up with some complete uh just lie basically and there what got me

Start on that was I saw something in an article about like was Helen Keller even real and it was talking about like you know was Helen Keller’s caretaker just manufacturing this story to to sell books and and her story and press and stuff like that or like was Helen Keller

Actually and it was going off of like you know can someone who can’t see or hear even be at this level of Consciousness lacking some of the most vital sensory that we have to make sense of the world um but I I was on definitely T toes down that alen Keller

Did not land an airplane there is just no way Helen Keller can land an airplane and it’s not because it’s Helen Keller any person who has never heard a sound or saw a sight before in their entire life will be able to you can’t see the

Runway no you would you would have no How would how would you be able to land on the runway like I didn’t even know that was a thing like an actual story that existed until you started talking about it I was like yeah wait what I to be

Honest I don’t really know much about Helen Keller at all I know that she existed in her her disability and not being able to see or hear which is oh my God it’s got to be like hell I couldn’t imagine but like I see would you you

Was saying before I was in Monster’s live stream and this came up again and you know someone was like she didn’t land an airplane she just controlled it for a few minutes she just held the steering wheel for exactly like I did some research and it’s it’s hard one

Account from the caretaker says that and then there’s another account where she says she landed the airplane do we even know if Helen Keller was ever in the airplane I don’t even know but all I’m saying is if if if they’re letting Helen Keller control the airplane they should

Let me control the airplane like I I want my test spin of a Boeing 747 let me drive the boat exactly let me drive the boat let me drive the plane yeah man that’s so funny fun fact about Amelia aart um they when they they the like the

Listed cause of death for Amelia aart is that she was eaten alive by crabs so where Amilia aart I believe when they found the uh the plane Jesus like the the area this plane was in dude these crabs that are in that area I didn’t even know these crabs exist these

Crabs plane ever like the the parts I think so it’s either where they found the plane or where they like geographically mapped based off the knowledge I guess where they think she landed I don’t know if this is like confirmed or if this is just a theory

Out there I forget but I do know either this Theory or this happened that she was eaten by crabs the point being here whether or not Amelia aart was eaten by crabs or not that’s not the point here the point is that there are these freaking crabs that are in insane like

Absolutely insane I never knew these types of crabs existed but you know I heard they were adding crabs into the game and they have like that huge arm and and that brought me right back to is it the coconut crabs is that what they’re called or the spider I think so

I might I think it might be the co they’re they’re they’re ridiculous dude like I was honestly thinking to myself if I’m up against a hundred of these crabs this is going to be this is I don’t know if I could win I don’t know if I can win

This is this is super this is super off topic this is not even related to Minecraft anymore but I was I was watching this one video one time of like medieval torture methods and I’m sure there in some part of the world there were there was definitely some place

Where they used crabs to torture people like prisoners and stuff that is D crabs are evil crabs are the probably the most evil sentiment being there’s a non zero% chance somebody has died to crabs both of them yes but yeah do you have anything else to plug do you have
