Hello hello everybody today we’re going to do the castle gate and I’m going to do the whole tutorial in this voice yes no really I’m not but anyways here we go here we go so today castle gate poor port to the particular particle Portugal pub not damming after look at a portico Port portcullis portcullis what the hell is a portcullis castle gate so today we’re gonna do castle gate and yeah the first half I might add is going to be a quick update on the triple piston extender non-sticky version which is what we’re going to be using for this Umm yeah yeah that’s going to be an update so if you guys saw my my first my first my tutorial on the triple fit piston extender I pointed out that how the first column act is funny I didn’t like that so I updated it so that way it The whole thing works evenly now there’s nothing you know off about it so you’re going to see that for the first part of this video so of course if you guys have seen my tutorials you know you know the drill block but in case you’re you’re You know you just found me here you go block repeater going down repeater set to three block repeater set to two piston going this way lock and wire it up like this come around here and a torch dust going this way to pieces repeater going that way set to three and Then and then block torch on top of that block and block on top of that torch so it’s a it’s a torch sandwich anyways that’s a very thick bread and it’s green it must be moldy or something don’t eat it alright so this is where it kind of Differs from the from the other one the triple person an extender thing on this torch we place a block we go one out this way and we go one this way and up like so and and and on top of this block we place another one And attach one more like that in place dusts right here leading into this block because we’re going to put a torch we also want a torch right here so it’s going to be turned off from here and from here and then in front of that torch replace a repeater no delay and This is actually your new triple piston extender or non-sticky version let’s test it out remember when you add the pistons power.this so that way you don’t have to mess with the timings I did in the past tutorials not I did not power it and I ended up having to screw the with the Timings and well this is just much easier you don’t have to deal with that so let’s see let’s see if it works it should work yeah there we go so this is the new version okay now onto the castle gate so I’m gonna power that power it Power I always power it also you want to power it because this watch this design is based off of bud but yeah but block update detection so if you do anything near it for example see see that did you see what happened right there if you do anything near the Pistons the timing Will get screwed up so what you want to do is power it so that way it you don’t have to you have to worry about affecting the Pistons so nothing happens if you power it and you do anything around so yes so remember always power if you’re going to mess with it always Power it before you add your pistons very important so on to the gate now all you could eat you cute you kick the you could extend the the Pistons the the whole thing you could extend it up to a man that’s going to bother me up to I believe 14 blocks I think it’s 14 okay you can if you wanted to extend it even further past 14 but there’s there’s just no way to to extend the the signal without adding delay you know unless someone has come up with something that I don’t know about you know hopefully that’s the case but as Far as I know you cannot extend the signal without adding more delay so the second half the extended half is going to be off from these so it’s not going to come down evenly it’s probably like maybe half a second half a seconds worth of Delay but that I don’t know I don’t like that I like it to look all nice and even but even then I don’t know I think 14 blocks is pretty good right I think 13 maybe 13 14 I don’t remember I think it’s 14 I’m going to stick with 14 but For the sake of this tutorial I think I’m going to do 1 2 3 4 5 6 6 6 8 let’s do 8 I’m gonna do 8 alright so to extend pretty easy go like that set to 3 just like this just like this put your eye right there over here Put your put your torches place your torches put blacks like that mmm I’ll just copy just copy paste copy paste okay right here actually we’re not going to put torches along these blocks this is enough we’re going to work off of this torch right here so all we really need Is wire like that okay and of course the repeaters no delay just like so and finally our make sure that’s on our Pistons and I’ll just put these first like that and there you go now let us start to building our flower just surround the whole thing in Whatever floor you’re going to use in this case I’m using a stood okay and this is the beginning of four right here I’m going to just going to expand that out whoops this is pretty good haha oh this is so exciting isn’t it so so much Fun how much 20 blocks I put on that side three I think it was three okay and and now everybody’s going to fall asleep because this is just boring you know maybe I should just skip it I should skip it next time I’ll skip it sorry so that is The floor and but what we gonna do we’re going to start building our castle gate so we make a wall make it four high I believe is what it was there we go and I think three is fine is three so yeah three five no four four we need four We’re that far wait one flower day come back and that’s it we do the same thing to the other side I’m going to posit I mean I’m going to build the rest of this crap on this side over here so give me a second okay I have the other wall built I Didn’t do anything else so you’re not missing much right here we place a high you know one from from this little place where two over and then same thing on this side two over boom hug and there we go that’s only like that so that we could see the buttons you could put Whatever you want right there would hell you want to put stone and you don’t care if it kind of blends in that’s why you do whatever you want but for the sake of building this you know that way I know where the buttons are I don’t lose track of them And here we are so we place just like that cut out the middle drop it one and redstone just redstone now it’s controlled from both sides and right here we want boom like that repeater okay so when either button is pressed the wire will turn on this will get Powered because because this signal will drop down to that repeater let me show you real quick mmm and that was oh yeah man Oh doh so there you go so no matter which button you press the power will drop down to this okay so now we continue Going down like so oh no wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute sorry we’re going to use this repeater to power that block and that block is going to power wire here just like that so I’m going to come down a little stair little stair action just Like this too and let’s test it up there you are and then go away rain and right here we’re going to add a a T flip-flop of sort it’s it’s like that one that Lachlan made except I’m not gonna we don’t need a torch down I mean Yeah we don’t need a torch down here because the power is going to come from up here and you’re gonna see why in a second how did this go so yes off of this we’re going to add that we’re going to add a piston here whoops not there Right there and then right yeah like that let’s place the block here before it it squeezes together mmm and then and then now we have our little toggle action going on so this is what we want to happen so we press the button it flips to the other side now what we want Is instead of having power come out from underground you know on and off kind of thing we want power to alternate so in order to do that what we do is we come down like this and no we don’t come down like yeah that’s what we do right there Okay so come out one and then down one place wire going this way so this is going to be our first output okay in order to go through we need a repeater and that’s going to connect to this circuit right here all right and then the second one when it Switches what we want is so when we turn it on this is not going to go through but it will go through on this side what we want is a repeater right here right in there okay same ideas up here the signal will drop down into the repeater Right here this part right here is going to drop down into the repeater go through to the other side and then we have our second and output just like this going this way this is going to control the Pistons on top that is going to bring down the fence and then this Side is going to control of course the ones the Pistons that come up so there we go so a quick test that got powered but this didn’t because the block wasn’t there but now that it is there this is going to get powered and this is not because The block is not there see so you got a little kind of switcheroo action going on so that is that and now we’re ready to build the top part so this is where this wire comes in it’s going to go this way so we’re going to we’re going to go Up here what we want is we don’t want to add the gravel yet but we do need to figure out where the fence is going to start which is going to be right here you go three blocks of anything and then put your fence put at least four if you Wanted you know you could put more than that but do at least four and so it could look nice when you when you close it so one two three four I’m going to do four all right sorry about that jump I had a pause for A second anyways um where was I yes so we placed our blocks place our fencing Alex for and now we’re going to do is we’re going to add our pistons that face downward and push the fence downward okay so now we’re going to place blocks Here this is just so that we have a place to attach our pistons after that you could just get rid of them and then add the rest so what I’m going to do is add the fencing add the rest of the pistons and take this away so I’ll do That right now so be right back okay here’s this part done we got our offenses for down and then three rows of pistons facing downward we don’t need to we don’t need these to be sticky because they don’t need to retract so this part is actually easy the reason they don’t Need to retract it because these pistons down here are going to push everything back up the way you see it right now so you’ll see how in a second now let’s start all expanding the pistons here on top we’re going to do that by adding blocks like so go to out from From you know the end here and then in one this way same thing with the next row skip a block and then do another one like that and then we’re going to change I think this part in a little bit but just for the sake of simplicity let’s uh Let’s just copy paste and then again one more time skip a block and go this way like that I’m stuck why am i stuck and like this like des ni – alright now let’s start expanding right here second to the top place a torch and we’re going To use that to power this wire and expand our first rows of pistons like so next thing you want to do is we’re going to expand this row by adding wire look first place a repeater right there and I believe crap what do I have it set To I have I have a complete thing over here I think it’s set to two two or three it’s set to two – and then I’ll check out this part here set to 1 okay so yeah set that one to 2 and M and then this Part right here this is this is going to be the different one we’re gonna place the block right there screw that block it sucks and then we’re going to place a repeater right here I’ve repeated a torch torch right there and we’re also going to break this block Right here and what’s going to happen actually is right here we’re going to place a torch it’s going to turn this off which means these turn on they get powered and also this block is being powered as well we’re going to use that to expand the rest what we’re going to Do is please repair right here no delay and we’re going to use that to power the last row of Pistons which is not coming down because these aren’t extended of course of course let’s let’s see if it expands myself it does it does all right cool So I forgot to put wire here sorry so there you go all expanded gate closed now um now what we want to do is just make this signal travel down so skip skip always skip a block like so and make your way all the way down like that Just like that we’re going to place blog blog blog blog blog torch not block torch torch torch torch torch there we are okay so now it’s not expanded when this receives power it will expand and it will push the gate down now last thing we need to do is connect this wire Into that torch so that we could turn it off and in effect send the signal up to expand those Pistons what am I missing I am missing the gravel that’s what I’m missing okay so I think this should be this should be the thing complete let’s Find out let’s add our gravel where is our gravel gravel grout right there I just pointed to it and then oh no my dammit can’t go up good okay okay going through here going through here that’s okay that’s okay there we go whoa whoa leg okay oh oh oh This last part is gonna be tough how do I come up through here and I’ll look at this one yeah that’s fine oh I hope this is it let’s try it let’s try it oh yeah and then let’s press it again and close perfect Oh what happened there what happened there I think it’s just like from fraps man there’s a lot of cuts in this in this tutorial today alright so um it’s it looks weird but I just um I just determined it was it was fraps lab lagging my game so no worries it works yeah it looks it’s just like that’s all It is so anyways I had I just had to turn off fraps and test it just to make sure so this is your setup this is this is it you’re done now all you got to do is just um cover it up decorate however you like oh you know something I’m totally forgetting something well let’s just um when it closes you of course wanted to look better than that so what I do is I bring down here and that way because if you just do that you’re still going to be able to look up and it looks empty there’s like an empty Spot so this allows it to that allows the fences to connect and looks a little more you know closed off so that that looks better in my opinion so there it is was your opening okay one thing that I that I forgot to add was that you can Actually install a lever if you want to be able to lock it from the inside so to do that all you have to do is add a piston facing downward right here whoops and you know for you redstone savvy people I think you know where I’m headed With this now let’s just do that who cares no let’s do that this is we’re going to expand this piston so it could block off that wiring right there that was just a happy accident I said you know what this looks perfect to be cut Off and so why not add a a lock mechanism so it’s very simple you know nothing major but we’re going to put a lever Oh screw it I was going to put like a different color block but we don’t need to see that it’s already visible by itself so there you go You could lock it open for whatever reason or you could lock it closed whoops oh oh what’s going on what is going on that’s supposed to be a sticky piston whoops whoopsie sorry about that Oh God serious oh my god really oh okay I wasn’t put one over here – oh goodness Okay so uh oh let’s not forget wow this this tutorial is going downhill I’m so sorry free little bit block right there block and then now it should work you bring it down it locks it cuts off the signal none of the buttons can work that’s the idea behind the lock Mechanism pretty simple but you know you know come on come on y’all ready have this cool ass thing why why even you know trying to show off with a fancy lock and then you can lock it in the in the closed position so there you go there you go much better open it Alright um I guess I mean this is pretty much it it’s all about covering it up and I’ll do it real quick so you guys can get an idea of you know I mean you pretty much do whatever you want now from this point on but I’ll cover it up Real quick so you guys can like see an example not now that it really matters but I just want to okay I’ll be right back welcome to Castle abyss Danny in 10th ————————————————————————– Attention xbox players!
There seems to be a problem with the gate that makes the gravel disappear once you use it. If you are having this problem, the fix for this is to change the repeater in the purple circuit that is set to 3. Change that repeater from 3 to 4.
————————————————————————– Dimensions!
For of those of you wondering about the dimensions and how to put this underground, view this pic for the dimensions.
————————————————————————– To extend this gate to up to 28 wide, you can place the extending circuit so that the wire runs off each side of the output torch like this
Thanks to Shadowmaker1001 for this tip!
