Insane Minecraft Engineering on Caffeine! #1 – Stone Age

Hello everybody and welcome back to gaming on caffeine my name is Isaac we are back with a brand new series today we are playing some Age of Engineering this is going to be a cut-down version of the streams that I’ve been doing over on Twitch and we’re basically edit out

All of the mining all of the grinding and try and give you a condensed version of what the livestream is to try and make it feel more like a normal gaming on caffeine video hopefully you enjoy it if you want to go watch the uncut version I’ll put links down in the

Description to where you can go and see that but without further ado here is age of engineering this is age of engineering so if we press E and thankfully is there time on the server I was worried that we jump in in the evening it just overrun by mobs over

Here we are and if we press E this modpack uses the guide book from feed the beast utilities and you can see at the top here it says Age of Engineering and the pack is split into 14 different age starting with the Stone Age the Industrial Age the calculation age all

The way down to the Taconic age the mechanical age and then finally the creative age allows us to actually make creative item for the angel wing which is not creative item but I believe we can then move on to make creative items like the creative energy cells here so

The creative capacitor bank can we make this we can indeed it’s very very expensive requirements of the chronic evolution some environmental tech some sort of flux reborn and raion mechanism Neotech industrialcraft to everything you can imagine all the tech mods are in this it’s going to be great so if we

Look at the first stage here if we’re going to the guide and we look at the very first stage of the Stone Age and it says the first thing you’ll notice is you can’t smell oils into ingots and you can’t smell wood into charcoal so we can’t use a normal furnace for ingots

And we can’t use it for charcoal what we have to do is have to start by going into a bit of tinkers construct lee to get ourselves the smeltery it recommends is building the mining multi-tool and going through into the mining world and a little bit further down here it also

Recommends that we build the cook oven fairly early on as well but as we all know the first way that you start here it’s the same every time we’re going to get some wood we’re going to see how things go we’re going some word we’re

Gonna start with a little bit I think is construct and we’re going to go I think it’s probably best for us to make like just a basic set tinkers tools I don’t think the vanilla tools are turned off and I fell so that we could still make you know

Wooden tours cobblestone tools lying tools but they just are as effective as fingers tools because tinker’s tours of course can be easily repaired but to burn up we’re going to we’re going to get either subjective construct it might be worthwhile actually they’re looking Phoenix Lord is in bed unfortunately had

To get to bed Oh fortunately we cannot sleep I’m going to ask king dragon blood and that boy here can you guys sleep there we go didn’t we have to ask py if you’re watching the stream thank you for sleeping it’s going to make my life so much easier

But here we go and so we’re gonna get ourselves to basic tinkers construct stuff set up here at the beginning I never really go for the tinkers construct tools at the start I always wait until I’ve got a smeltery usually before I start making my first tool so I

Normally jump in it like iron or something higher than that but I think I’ll mix it up a little bit we’ll go ahead and we’ll start with maybe some wouldn’t but maybe some cobblestone tinker’s tools we’ll see here also I’ll say hi real quick just so people on the

Server don’t think that I’m ignoring them but there we go we can craft ourselves a crafting station we are on 1.10 so we’re on it’s a little bit newer I did turn off also jumping like right away cuz I hate it it’s horrible and I also we also got some other stuff we

Have to wear tinker with at some point in the future but for now I’m thinking that we get a basic wooden pickaxe and I’m going to get a quick bit of stone here so we can make some basic stone towards the post to getting like wooden

Tools because although we can I think of grid them in the future it shouldn’t be it should be a lot easier for us if we go straight in with cobblestone tools as well and let me have a quick look here actually before we jump too far into the

Mod pack what kind of mods do we have installed just to give you guys an idea of the pack we got actually additions which is a pretty cool mod as I played oh I played with a little bit in feed the beast beyond but haven’t really played with too much since then we’ve

Also got advanced generators which is a mod that i did a mod spotlight on like two years ago now but i’ve never actually played with it in the in like a mod pack it’s been that all the time and it basically allows you to build these custom multi-block energy generator so

Redstone flicks generators or EU generators I guess is what could produce up to 8,192 EU per ticket and we also got a course industrial craft to advanced rocketry which I know is used at some point I was reading the changelogs when I was updating the server and apparently

Recipes in this have been tweaked I have no idea what this mod entails but advanced rocketry sounds interesting I’ve got two schewe pilot logistics which is always nice to have especially in 1.10 I think we also do have refined storage maybe so I think you get to pick

Which one you go with there we do have industrialcraft 2 installed like I mentioned I think we start with Industrial Craft 2 like that’s one of the earlier machine sets on earlier models we have to work with here in the Industrial Age and then you can see down

Here we will move into a kind of actual editions we are like forestry and oh I oh I guess bit further down some more industrial craft too and some mods I’m not too familiar with the atomic age I’m not quite sure what’s going on there oh

Hello phoenix log what am i being given one of the back here i’m been giving some baguettes thank you food is definitely gonna be a problem for us early on is that just the bread texture but like stretched out to be longer i love it

Alright so a whole lot of that until we need it but for now let’s chop to here we’ve also got the conic evolution of course it’s kind of the go to late game mods nowadays i guess as we can get to that at some point maybe in the future

I’ve heard that it’s not quite as hard as kappa mode this mod pack so it’s not going to be super crazy like kappa mode was and maybe i’m a level of titan mode i’m not quite sure i haven’t played a ton of it and i haven’t watched a ton of it either

And although i have seen quite a few people play it I saw acrylic start a new series only not so long ago do we have their mind that’s a good question we do nuts I don’t think I just tried using the grave key it is however possible and

That it is rebound to something else or that possibly it just doesn’t work with the tools I have although it doesn’t look like we do have very minor install which is a bit of a shame but on an on Skyblock I can kind of see it I might

Install it in the future just to make things easier after the live streams but it does kind of make mining a bit different it makes a bit weird we’ll see we’ll see for now let’s get some tickets also going shall we as well do this let

Me see if my memory serves me well here I haven’t done this in at least a week I did it with that with Nick on a project or to Titan mode not too long ago as I should be able to remember how all of this stuff is made fairly easily here we

Away we got some nearby water we’ve got these nice big dark wood trees I quite like these I also like I like this in spruce I really like the darker woods in Minecraft as well so let’s see here well throw this down so I all we got here

Part builder I’m going to have to get used to I’m going to get used to that the like whaler is on the left I don’t think it is whele but like little tooltip that tells you I’m looking at is over on the left I keep looking at the top of my screen

Trying to find it but we got a part builder tool station stencil table and pattern chest now I always forget where the pan chest is supposed to go I think it is here though right yeah it’s really over here on the right nice I like it I

Like it a lot just a question what vein minor mode do you use I’m having trouble finding one um I’m always just use very minor if that’s available if it is not available what’s the one in I think it’s a different one saying all excavator I

Think it’s the one that’s in a factory 3 the 1.10 version so maybe we could try that it’s called or excavators it’s like one two about yeah it is and we also could do with oh that’s fine yeah we’re going to do finding the one

We saw let me quickly whip up one more set of these here we are going to have a few too many but I guess we should also make a sword as well why I never make swords they never make weapons and I always die when I come across a mob so

You know what let’s make sure you get the tool by Inglot to the sword blade and I think if we go to the tool station real quick here what do we need for the Sarge 12 odd and then just the the sword guard so it should be too hard

Whatsoever there we go alright let us see about making some of this stuff then so I’m gonna make pretty much everything here where do I want to be I want to be in the pub belt yeah I’m going to make pretty much everything here out of stone

Like everything that we can make here is doing made out of stone I don’t No people always tell me that you can use a stick instead of a tool rod now sometimes that is true but sometimes it’s also not true can I do this only – oh yeah of course sorry we found

This out in sky factory Nick and I when we played it you can’t put the tool rod in – you guys are sick of the toilet anymore and you also need a binding for an axe now as well which is new as well here so let’s do this let’s do this

Let’s make one two three of those I think is that right let me quickly check here that we don’t need one for the sword we’ve done I know I just checked that but there we go that’s fine I will then do the sword plate as well like

This and I’m fairly so much go ahead and use wood at for the rods because why not one two three four should be fine and I think guys this might be the fastest I have ever made like a full set of fingers towards leaves I want yeah there

People on the server will sleep really what is I needed to a lot that is a stick they look exactly the same I nevertheless we have a pickaxe let me quickly see here about getting a little bit more a cobblestone we should be able to make all these tools fairly

Easily here you need to know about binding yeah it’s a respect x-pac for edge of engineering or do you roll your own I’m using my own right now but I’m sure you real quick if I go to you resource bags I’m just using a custom version of the feed the beast beyond

Patch so if you download the free 3c on patch it covers almost everything I think I only added mechanism I think I added Baggins which is like a backpack mod but if you download feed the beast Beyond it’ll cover pretty much all of the mods that you need let’s even get a

Cobblestone here but if we look at the the stuff over here if we right-click onto one of these while someone is in the chance telling that you access all of them from the tops you can just click between them even though we’re only inside of the part build a pretty cool

Feature it’s going to make it so much easier in the future now but if we go to the part builder we thought in our normal finding that the tough binding and we do something like this one two three over to the tool station and then

We’ll get a shovel like sir and like sir I guess you can put them all there Capel and then we’ll do the same thing with the hatchet pal and then finally the same thing with the sword pal and did I make that no I didn’t quick over

To the part builder boom boom boom ambu alright I think that should be pretty much everything good to go nice they don’t look great and then all the best they are very basic tools but as time goes on we could have grade them to be better and better let me quickly dump

All of this stuff into here and now we’ve got all of that we should work on getting the smeltery I guess there’s no point going I don’t think it’s which point it is going down and mining just yet until we have a tinker’s contract smelt you up and running because we

Can’t do anything with any of the odds and also let me quickly eat one of these very stretched out pieces of bread aka the baguette and I’m hoping that we’ve got like far enough out to where there is still a decent amount of sand gravel and dust around here it doesn’t like to

It which is nicer or some surface gravel there which is always good to have and we should see hopefully a little bit of clear somewhere around maybe sowhat’s and like an awful lot of sand yeah there we go here we go but never got this let’s quickly craft up a little

Bit of gravel sand and Clare don’t quite have as much gravel as I would have liked but that’s fine so we’ve got 78 here right now we also I need to get a bit more cobble certificate furnace and also a to eat a little bit more as I forget which I’m

Do know so we’ve got apply logistics no refined storage I thought it had both but I guess it has just the one eye jumping and attacking is a critical hit really so if I like jump and hit the guy on the head that’s going to do more

Damage ah critical is in like it deals more damage or critical is in like it’s going to kill the guy in like one here chance for critical hit isn’t it it deals more damage more damage is it quits is it like a chance always like guaranteed you know it was guaranteed

I’m gonna be all over that it’s a chance and I mean you know fifty fifteen now let’s slow this down I got a few of them so I’d like to get this done as quickly as possible so what are you in there you and then I

Guess you in there will also siphon like a couple of these out just to even it up a little bit would you I would sort of you told you to start with and that would be great that would be great just because oh good I this simply gave

Set some charcoal cooking in the background unfortunately you cannot cook what I don’t believe in the charcoal in the furnace here so I put that in it doesn’t do anything because if we look inside of the guide here and we look at edge of engineering another Stone Age

It’ll show you the top here you can’t smell wood logs into charcoal it’s one of the restrictions of the mod packet so we do have to get a coke oven before we can do that it is my delivery of torches oh it is thank you very much sixty-four torches

Off I love it I love it all good okay now we can set them back down and we can freakin light this place up so that you on Twitch can hopefully see is going on there we go alright let’s get a little bit deeper here so hopefully we can find some charcoal also

Normal call even had to make some torches and also to use as fuel for our furnaces and but also it’ll be nice to get some iron maybe I’m not quite sure of the or distribution in this modpack or if it’s been tweaked on up because somewhat Panks like a lot of stuff to

Feed the beast too often they tweak where or spawn so they don’t spawn in the normal places they would spawn at normally feed the bees like to put like copper really high up and you know lapis and gold really far down all the lapis is always quite far down but hopefully

Get the idea of what I’m trying to say there I am not having the best of luck here though but while over 43 and we have yet to finally think here we go oh here we go which also I was gonna say we should look into making a hammer as soon as

Possible but for that we wouldn’t need the tool for so I’m going to assume as the tool Forge yep ends with me just a little bit more expensive so we need to see it breaks which is easy you know for the tool station then we need for dents

Ski or plates and I think that in order to make steel in this modpack we have to go through the blast furnace with industrialcraft 2 and so we type in steel ingot real quick let’s have a look here which is the one from industrial craft I think we have to go through the

Blast furnace to make this we have to make this guy before we can make anything else what do we need for the blast furnace as last furnace requires not a whole lot actually it seems to be fairly easy we can have the iron plate I think just using the anaphor chamber

Twice that’s not too bad we just really have to get enough iron to make it happen and as somebody mentioned in the chat earlier you don’t get double the amount of them ingots for yours anymore I think this comes smeltery you just get one in get parole and so it is a little

Bit harder to get our large amount of iron that you would normally get at the start of a game here ji gets the spawn location of Oz draws it now as if I was type in for example iron ore and then click recipe or click on it if you go

Somewhere it is spawning well Jen oh it does nice so mostly so yeah you can see here like where the odds of it spawning I’m assuming at different places so it spawns all the way up to wild level like 63 I guess we go find it more frequently

Down at like Y levels pen threw like 20 maybe cou percentages here yes oh I guess all the way down to like 60 so got a high chance of finding it it looks like I am may have been moved down a bit at six I’m fairly certain iron

Used to have a much more kind of linear curve here used to see a lot more in in the hive of Y levels but for now it looks like it’s a lot further down which is fine that you have to go a little bit oh my goodness you scared me hello hello

How’s it going our more food I love it I love it one thing the two things I will accept some people on the patreon server our food and torches through two torches because torches too so hard to get and food it’s just nice to have you know it

Might be worth us making first of all let’s take all of these as he just what we can do with this and we should also I guess put a little bit more fuel into each of these hopefully four might be enough we’ll see it probably would be though especially for this well that’s

Fine but the Mary was is making just a normal iron pickaxe like a vanilla minecraft one just so we combine things like bauxite earlier although I guess probably not and once we could just ignore it for now and then once we get some iron we can

Put it in our smell tray I want to get the smell tray we should be good to go as I don’t think we’re necessarily going to have enough here to make this happen because I want to build preferably a 3×3 smell tree I would like him if I can to

Be like embedded in the floor here a little bit like so it’s not just sticking out on the surface so we do want two three four five six seven eight nine and we’re then going to 12 more three for each side to make it one of those the controller one is of course

The drain one is the tank it’s a really nine mod but you need even more of these seared bricks in order to make things like the controllers I don’t know we might go through asexuality smeltery drain done a controller looks like that done and we do it to smell up some glass

Real quick in order to get the tank that should take more than a few seconds either don’t do this let’s see let’s see kaboom kaboom I like that that shows me when I shift it shows me what’s inside of the smeltery so I’d have to open it

And to see what’s in there that is quite a nice feature let’s do this again and compare I get to the tank as now all we need is more bricks we need nine bricks we need what like a 36 right days ago bricks which we do not yet have

But that should not be too hard for us to get so what are these down one two three and four I really need a few more here but really which is missing gravel what the tortures in your offhand it will work the same way it relase if I do

Selling next we don’t really need to be carrying all of it around others and we might as well also make a quick double chest here whilst ratchet although we do have actual editions and songs it might be oh my goodness what what excuse me

Take all of these and then we probably shouldn’t have used all of them just there because you do also need to make the casting base for the casting table and the the faucet there but we should still have enough nevertheless we’re also got a few spare as well so you want

To upgrade this to be a little bit taller we could do that hopefully in the not so distant future over looking at it now it might have been a huge mistake because I don’t think oh we got my grout okay thank goodness I was going to say I

Think we’ve got enough and seared bricks to make this happen but I’ve got ten more grout so we should be able to make a casting basin just fine here let’s drop you there let’s get rid of this might as well use our shovel there we go

And we can’t use gold I don’t think in the smell tray also the recipe for the bucket I believe has been changed as well or honor yet it hasn’t been changed but you need the smell to be able to get iron and you can’t get iron without

Having lava because you need love you need the smell tray to make the iron so I believe there is a recipe involving clay buckets that we can use potentially maybe possibly did I skip it hold on here I was I was yeah it’s right here I’m looking at the wrong recipe and so

We can just use three clay like sir boom boom boom throw that into the smell tray and then it is single-use so we don’t get to use it multiple times it will disappear as soon as we we get rid of the lava bump it’s not to get our lava

Going in the smeltery as soon as possible here alright let’s throw this in here I’ve also going to need to get some aluminium brass in order to make this work which is why we want the bolts like bauxite is aluminium and also I’m not really too bothered about the seeds just

Yet although we should probably start farming as sooner rather than later so let me I guess I can throw this in here although it’s all going to do anything just yet let’s turn him down let’s see if we can’t find a pool of lava and then whilst were down here

I’ll also grab the rest of this iron as well you can use clay to make a cast as you go graduate pick really like I can use oh look at that so I can make like a can i how would one go about making like

A clay ingot cast if I want to upgrade my pickaxe Oh a clay pickaxe head cast oh you could just probably over molten clear oh I see I see I see I see okay okay let’s try this out Claire casts only work once though okay okay I’m interested I’m interested I never use

That let’s give it a girl we got a bear clay here and we can make although we do we need we need lovers oh no we love it we can’t go anywhere until we have a lava so we have to go a bit further down

Till until we get love before we can do that we’re so close I don’t know how well you ask me here on the screen but it’s very very much so here is that awesome it is my directional awareness here I’m trying to figure out where this love was I

Think it might be down there it is yep okay okay let’s like bang this up a little bit I would recommend making a mining dimension we will get on that as soon as possible so let’s do that there we go alright tiny collagen is my back I

Think so what’s the benefit of tiny call like if I craft is it just more tortures I think MSU can make tiny tortures yeah which I guess for areas like the one I’m in now like doing this down here and the tiny call would make more sense so if we

Do without these 4543 torches whilst we’re still down in the mines we should definitely craft up some tiny torches as well remember to eat there’s a good point it’s um not on Jin chat there we go we’ve got already good stuff good stuff

Oh no what I want to do now what I want to do stop stop okay it’s kind of hard so quite clicking to eat the food and then now that my fungus follow just it just drops at all just down all right okay we are good about buying here unfortunately not a huge

Amount of lava as we’ll do this that’s just out of smelting the lava up at the iron up once the iron has been fully smelted I guess we can throw some clay in how much clay are we going to need to make a pickaxe head cast let’s

Have a look here I think I said casts we need 280 ml buckets how many male buckets you get per piece of Claire a hundred and forty false we all need to smell at two balls of clay hopefully yeah we should definitely have I think enough lava to make this happen so

Really it’s just a waiting game one tiny call is one smelt so it’s more efficient oh I see okay I see I see I see okay Alex stir in our two pieces of clay they shouldn’t hopefully take too long to smelt of also it would be sensible Isaac

To press f7 yeah there we go and throw down a couple of pods around here so that even where the night does fall we don’t get just trampled by all the mobs especially in this red area over here where they can spawn I think pretty much

Like just all day long okay we got some horses I didn’t see any cows or anything on the way over here we could probably do with killing a bunch of those as well trying get some food for when this steak that we’ve got one’s out or maybe just

Like getting of ever wheat farm going I never I never again I never I never think about food when I’m when I’m starting out I always just starving and I’m always willing around on on half of art and no chicken legs look at the cook of a new recipe oh hello

So apparently I’m supposed to jump critical hit you I don’t know if this is I feel chef Schafer mother like normally would trying to do that but hey I don’t know that might have done more damage I’m not entirely certain and well let’s slow down a few more torches here just

To make it a little bit less likely that we die going forward here and also I’m really not a fan of the the darkest here and there goes all of our torches i okey-dokey did you claim the chunks I did not hear would I be quickly claimed like a bunch

Of chunks around where here around where we are here so other people cannot to use them there we go that seems like a good a good area to start with we should definitely make more torches though here real quick visit I could see that we didn’t do a particularly great job on

Coverage here there’s like a we went really far out that way but it’s like yellow lines right here and I’m going to cause some mobs to spawn if we’re not careful like that creeper over there let’s just pretend he didn’t exist and hopefully he will do as the same courtesy

We’ll just quickly finish this up about this point I took in UTP to me why and then yeah we should be done with the other clan out so we’re go and check that out we can have seven as well so given all of those lines

Okey dokey so we’ve got our clay as I’m assuming here what we need to do is head over to this grab our pickaxe stencil table here part builder Kapow kaboom and then Kapow make sure the clay is the bottom pull it out and then now

We should be able to pull out as some iron here which is going to allow us to make the the iron pickaxe I’m assuming that we could just upgrade the one that we already have and we go say did go away which was where people talk about

That so we knew that was coming so can I do I guess in here maybe if I do I’m assuming I have to fix it first so let’s go here boom boom and then maybe boom and boom no quite possibly it has to be done in here

Kapow kaboom there we go we now have an iron pickaxe ecological magnetic too and cheap like why sure what all of those mean but we do have the ability now hopefully to mine the bauxite which is what we need because we already have I think did we get some copper I feel like

I saw copper although it might have been more bauxite because we need to make aluminium brass we make aluminum brass by combining aluminium and copper or aluminum and copper and to get aluminum we need to break the bauxite the bauxite when it’s melted once an inter alia

Mininum and then we can combine that with some copper to get ourselves a reusable cast such as an ingot cast which we’re going to need to get all of our ingots going forward so here we go do we have extra Saudis installed an extra yes we do of course good good good

Good good so we should be able to make the redstone clock I think yes we can so we can use that if we want to pull some of my stuff out also we do have project thread is it uh no tech reborn is adding in the the Sapphire are here what can I
