Insane Minecraft Strategy Revealed

Hello everyone and welcome to episode one of my new series and also coincidentally the first series on this channel let’s play Minecraft now this is going to be a bit different from my usual series um it’s all going to be pre pre-recorded um it won’t be any like

Fancy scripting or editing or any of that stuff it’s just going to be me playing the game having a jolly old time you know because ever since the polywood I have realized I made a lot of mistakes during that that series that I want to correct in this

One primarily playing the game casually no Creative Mode no cheats no nothing of that and for some reason you’re um not coming here from my other channel if you somehow discover this one uh welcome this might be a bit confusing but uh this going to be um this channel in

General is primarily focused around making simple Let’s Plays and just cataloging my thoughts basically and experiences with each game that I’m playing for the main channel uh which will be linked in the description uh where I do mostly video essays about primarily games but I also plan to do

Video essays of other types of media as well in the future for example movies that I like and whatnot so the purpose of this channel is to just primarily really capture footage for the games but also to record my thoughts and experiences and share them with you guys in a way I

Suppose so yeah with that out of the way um yeah welcome this is episode one and we’re starting in 0.0.1 a which is the first ever version of the game to be released publicly like a full public release not any like you know developer builds or private builds that were only

Tested by a few people or never even compiled none of that stuff I’m going to go very simple um it’s yet another history series there’s quite a lot of these popping up recently on YouTube and I’m afraid this one won’t really have anything in unique or interesting to

Offer like I won’t really focus on the community at the time I might mention a few things here and there while I’m building or doing something but for the most part that’s not really the main focus or goal of this series um again it’s just going to be me

Playing the game and uh I guess showcasing the history of the game in a way CU I am going to play for all the main versions you know all the discovered ones found versions there are going to be a few Recreations here and there thrown in uh but not that many not

Nearly as many as I used in my polywood series just to fill in some of the gaps because there are a very small am amount of missing important versions unfortunately uh that I do want to cover um yeah how I’m going to be handling especially classic but in

General how I’m going to be handling this series is um every time there’s like a major change a major shift in the game’s not necessarily development but also it’s like terrain generation I will be changing areas so for example in classic and well not really in in-depth but definitely in classic I’ll be

Changing the world so we only see this world in this first episode here in 11a I’ll be changing the world whenever there’s like a major change into a generation and then stick to a single World basically until I have to change again and because the majority of

Classic is in creative mode this is literally going to start as a creative series which is kind of interesting because I’ve never really done a creative series before I mean outside of like a very small set of episodes in craftology I haven’t really done anything quite like this so it’s going

To be very interesting especially given how I’m not really a builder in this game so for anyone who’s new to the channel um I’ve I’ve played this game for a long time um ever since I was a kid I first discovered it back in 2010 um during its Alpha

Versions and I discovered it for YouTube like most people probably did back then uh for the in particular pulos junor and his tutorial series that’s how I discovered the game I didn’t really get around to playing it um until like much later though because I it’s a bit embarrassing I was now a

Very bright child so I didn’t know what to do in the game despite watching the tutorial couldn’t figure out that you actually have to hold down the mouse button to break the block uh so I kept like spam clicking and I thought that maybe my version was broken so I ended

Up just going inside of a cave completely unprepared mind you and I got jump scared by a skeleton and and that caused me to like jump so hard from my seat that I I I never really touched the game since uh until like mid beta or so I I kept just

Watching videos on it uh uh on YouTube videos about it um so yeah but but I am like an alpha OG technically I’m definitely a beta OG so I have experienced a lot of this game throughout the years and it’s a very special game to me that’s really

One of the reasons why I’m doing this is um it’s it’s one of the most important games ever made in my opinion especially in the games but also a very important game to me personally CU it’s the reason why I’m doing YouTube stuff in general it’s the reason why

I’m making like working on some personal projects like Legacy plus so I wanted to do this game Justice by not only playing it on the channel Channel but also you know giving my thoughts and opinions on it as I go and um the reason why I’m going for

All the versions is because a I actually like doing that it’s sort of like my play style I guess every time I play the game I always start like earlier versions as yearly as possible preferably and then go from there but uh yeah um anyway I’m getting a bit

Distracted here what I’m doing is I’m building a castle so what I’ll be doing in this episode is US utilizing this terrain here I actually generated this world before I started recording cuz I wanted to world with more Cliffs like this um I want to build a castle up here

Which is you know up high not a very big castle a very small one in fact uh just something simple uh and then I’ll build like a small village again something very simple with very simple houses down here in the in this Valley here so we’re

Going to have like a very basic Village uh we’re going to have like a small farm a few small houses uh maybe like a a windmill or something and maybe like a mine because there are caves here um and and then we’ll move on to to the next version in the next [Applause]

Episode um all right let me count some blocks here uh I think I want seven blocks for the walls so this three four 5 6 7 then we have another Tower what I’m going for is a very basic cast shape like extremely basic and the reason why

I’m doing this is well primarily because I suck at building as I said but also because 5 six 7 um also because this version is well I mean it’s the first ever public version so obviously it’s very limited you only have four blocks to work with technically six if you

Count grass you can’t really Place grass you can just Place dirt and wait for it to spread but technically six with grass and also there’s saplings but yeah you can you can you can tell that they’re not very good like the original sapling textures one of the

Worst textures ever made not only in this game but in general in gaming uh even Notch himself was ashamed of it uh he said so in the RC chats which which is why it’s actually um accessible via six and not five there’s nothing allocated to the fifth slot so

Using the number Keys one is Stone two is dirt three is Cobble four is planks six is saplings cuz why hide them why not just make it so that people can’t build with them at all I don’t know Nao is a weird one for sure but yeah a bit

Of a bit of fun trivia there for all you young LS who might be watching this maybe not even young just new players in general right this is going to be the entrance way here this Castle is sort of inspired by a particular build by uh someone I think

I think they’re called Evo Ville one of the OG players and they built it in May earlier version than this they built it in 9A which is like the first version we have concrete evidence of existing but it’s not being discovered yet unfortunately um it’s it’s one of those

Private test builds that I mentioned earlier uh in the video that I refused to cover because they weren’t available to everyone want to be as authentic as possible with this uh so this Castle is definitely inspired by that by that particular build and I don’t really want to over do

It cuz again these all of these words at least in the beginning here in the first around five seven at most 10 episodes are going to be very temporary words that I only keep for one or two episodes at a time um so I don’t really want to

Invest too much time or effort into these uh because of that reason uh there will be like a world that will generate sometime in like 15a I believe which we will be keeping for a very long time uh throughout the majority of classic really um so that’s going to be our main

World we’re going to be building a bit more interesting and wackier things I suppose but for now I’ll keep it simple simple and nostalgic really the if any of you have actually played classic and I do mean like these very early classic versions not 0.30 which is like the the

Last classic version cuz that one was actually up on the website for a long time uh even I played it I remember playing it back in like the alpha and beta days but uh I mean like these earliest versions uh do let me know in the comments it would be interesting to

Interested to hear your stories uh cuz I personally don’t have any attachment to these versions in particular like I don’t have any Nostalgia for them I mean I do technically have Nostalgia because they just scream 2009 know late 2000s um it’s the game was a simple

Browser game back then so in that sense it is nostalgic for me because it does remind me of an old era of the internet uh that has long since gone unfortunately but beyond that like the game itself isn’t nostalgic for me at all like this cuz again I I haven’t

Really played these versions when they were fresh and new I started in Alpha um so yeah you let me know uh let’s see one two three I don’t know how tall I want to make these towers probably not too tall considering the main wall isn’t that tall three

Maybe five blocks currently it’s three let’s see how five looks actually or maybe four I think five might be a bit too much I don’t want to make them too tall also feel like could have probably done them like 5x five rather than 3×3 but oh well how does that look

H I think that works I’ll go for five two so yeah this version is so old that you you might have noticed that there’s no sounds you might be asking yourself where where are the sounds where’s the music uh it’s so old that it even predat

Sounds in music That’s How old it is all you get is like this randomly generated world uh in a finite size uh with very simple Terrain it’s using 2D pin so all you have is like Cliffs sheer Cliff faces like that nothing else uh and also some simple caves as

Well uh the caves are built using a different generation algorithm they’re independent from the P noise as far as I recall uh and also like it has inverted controls not really inverted it’s actually very strange controls I actually kind of like them uh but they are a bit unintuitive and confusing so

The way it works is that left clicking brakes blocks right clicking switches between placing and braking modes so right now I’m in Breaking mode and right now I’m in placing mode and when you’re in placing mode left click in places a lock very confusing I know I the funny

Thing is um originally not didn’t have it like this it was actually very simple um it was just left click to place right click to break so basically inverted from what we used to nowadays but it was a lot simpler and for some reason he thought that that was too complex so he

Ended up just making it like this instead and it was like this for like half of Classic’s development basically for a few good months uh the controls were like this and it’s it’s very odd yeah very OD design Choice we’ll be seeing a lot of these throughout this series especially early

On so this is like a very iconic part of this uh era of the game right let me I I forgot to do like the castle bits or whatever with these towers here so let’s do that although this does look a little bit strange maybe I should have done them in the

Middle this is what I mean by me sucking at building cuz Okay yeah this looks less like a castle never mind because I can never make up my mind usually when I build something I already plan it ahead I Just Go With It so I don’t know how smooth this uh

Series at least the start of the series will be um in the future once I also have to like you know gather resources for all these builds it’s going to be a different story it’s going to be a lot of uh either footage Cuts or off camera

Work uh but for the time being keeping it fairly simple uh all right here we go I kind of want to have an interior to be honest going to do a very basic interior and then we’ll move on to the Village um yeah another thing you might

Have noticed is that the planks here look very strange um it’s the original plank texture which honestly looks a bit more like um like like bricks rather than planks the only thing that makes them look like planks is the um I guess like the lines I I guess like

The shape does kind of s look like planks but I don’t know um me and and also some other old players also noticed and expressed this that to them they looked more like bricks in fact a lot of players thought that it was bricks when they first played this uh

This browser this goofy little browser game made up of blocks nobody back then could have even predicted including not himself could have predicted just how massive this this game would become in the end um all right how do I want to handle this Uh me being indecisive again here and know that is idea I guess like this yeah that’s fairly symmetrical another thing to keep in mind with with my builds is that I like them to be very symmetrical so do be warned if you’re not into symmetrical builds you’re not

Going to enjoy whatever I build cuz almost everything that I build is intentionally symmetrical I don’t know I just have a thing for symmetry I guess symmetrical things just look a lot nicer to me I know that asymmetry is also um something a lot of people like like

Asymmetrical builds and they feel like it it they look better but I don’t know I’ve always been like this ever since I was a kid when I first played this game all way back when it was always like this hopefully my commentary will be entertaining enough especially about any

Game sounds or music I don’t I don’t even plan on adding any like background music I want this to be as raw as possible but ever since I started doing streaming I basically did a full year of streaming basically almost every single work day with a few exceptions here and

There uh on my other channel my main Channel and ever since then i’ I would like to think at least that my commentary has gotten a lot better but I know you’ll be the judge for that I suppose right I need to do that to know

Where the heck I’m supposed to put this stuff and that is a oh no that that is actually fine good right and I I Al kind of kind of want to have a way to like go up to the towers but I don’t think that’s possible there’s no ladders here obviously so the

Best I can do is this viral staircase yeah I I kind of regret making this Castle this small but oh well too late for that now I guess these towers will be purely decorative was kind of hoping to make them you know have a function

But let me see if I can figure something out not guess we’ll just have to deal with it um actually I think I can hold on there we go yeah there we go that’s more like it ah can I go back down yes I can it’s very crowded very tight in here but

It’ll do and now I guess I just do the same thing for all the other Towers yay I don’t know how much of this I I’ll be cutting out um I guess that’s kind of up to you guys especially early on I know I’ll definitely be making cutting out a lot more um

Content um whenever I have to do like mining boring mining or whatever I’ll be doing a lot more cuts uh but in these earlier videos here in these earlier episodes where it’s all creative mode anyway I I kind of don’t want to have it

Be so that um you know I just build the thing and cut out the entire build and then just show the build off and and then move on I feel like that’s also kind of boring uh it also make the videos way too short like I kind of don’t want that

So do let me know if you want to see me like how much this you want to actually see you know you let me know if you want me to cut more footage out or if you want the full raw experience or whichever you prefer cuz I’m fine with

Anything what matters is you guys at the end of the day I I’ll be keeping all this footage at least until I make the video cuz eventually I will run out of hard drive space but I’m keeping all this footage for the video itself the main video on the main

Channel so it doesn’t really matter to me um right two more to go go this is a tiny ass Castle my God I guess it really does um remind one of classic doesn’t it that’s what people built back then very very arbitrary and very simple

Builds it was a simpler time to be sure nowadays people build like Mega structures Mega bases huge castles 50 million times bigger than this it it’s kind of almost sad in a way don’t get me wrong people can build amazing stuff and I do commend them I do

Find that impressive and amazing but at the same time there’s just something about these simpler smaller builds that is so Charming to me that’s probably why I have an infatuation with with this particular era of the game the classic era just because it’s so simple

It it it just works you know it just works all right that looks kind of odd but yeah another thing you might have noticed grass immediately dies if it’s in well not immediately but it it dies if it’s in shape then there’s like no lighting engine I mean technically there

Is but it’s only two light levels light and dark so if a grass block is uh in darkness it will just die so that’s why I’m putting planks there so very annoying cuz it kind like forces you to to do uh interesting things with your designs right uh yep should be against

The doorway there we go make sure I’m doing this right again symmetry is key at least for me now this was modern and if I was like a quote unquote competent competent let’s player I would like do some footage cuts and build like a massive Castle despite all these

Limited blocks I’m sure that even like the best Builders even with just four blocks like this can build amazing things but I’m not an amazing Builder again so you have to bear with me for these few first few episodes CU they going to be kind of slow

Let me also add a very God this is so blocky it’s the name of the game everything’s made out of blocks so how does that look don’t particularly like it but at the same time I think it kind of works I kind of want to have more

Breathing room here all right let let’s go for that then boom boom boom all right and let’s also for the sake of itam can’t the grass also for the sake of it let’s add some saplings here why not these ugly looking things so better than nothing I

Suppose oh actually no let’s add just one let’s surround it with stone there we go that’s that’s looking all right uh let’s also do a little draw bridge perhaps I think that works there’s no M around the castle normally I build modes around castles but I didn’t really have

Enough space here because this is like the first time ever where I’m actually building stuff in classic that is supposed to like sort of tie together and make its own lore I don’t don’t normally do this I just build stuff for the sake of building

Stuff but uh this is like the first case where I actually put some more thought into it you know cuz the reason why the castle is so small especially why it won’t have a m is because it’s right at the edge of a cliff here so I guess the

Cliff is going to service its uh natural um I probably should have put the door on the other side but too late for that now the cliff sort of serves as its natural uh defense mechanism but there we go there’s our uh lovely little castle Let’s uh take a look at how it

Looks like from down here where the village will go look at that I like that and there’s a cave immediately underneath it that is actually perfect I didn’t even realize that CU so the mines will go there right underneath the castle I might even do a dungeon perhaps and I’ll also build a

Village right over here I have to do some ter terraforming um so I’ll get i’ll get working on that next jump cut yeah I I noticed in the previous recording session that it was getting a bit too long and um I didn’t know what what to cut out cuz I was talking the

Entire time so in in order to avoid making the episode too long I decided to do this off camera so here it is here’s the Village um I’ll do a quick tour and uh as I do that this is what I mean by like how much should I even cut out like I

Don’t know how much you guys want to see from this cuz if I don’t cut out anything I’m afraid this might like every episode might be an hour long at this point cuz let me tell you while building this I was very frustrated with

Um with just how classic is you know I I forgot how frustrating it is to build in classic like this control scheme here with the whole mod which isn’t even a problem to be honest I I I got used to this uh fairly quick quickly and easily

The problem is the lack of light and the slow movement just makes it so annoying especially if you want to build something uh taller like that windmill over there which I will show in a sec um if you want to build something taller it’s it becomes a massive chore because

If you fall off you have to like pillar up again and that takes a while it’s just a lot less intuitive than it is uh in in mod in the modern game obviously I have no idea why Notch didn’t think of adding flight sooner but oh well s such

Is the way of things all right so this is the village as promised I built a little staircase going down I was considering maybe also doing like Pathways but I don’t think that is necessary um over here where we had the cave I uh plugged it up a bit and I made

A proper entrance to the mine and this cave doesn’t really have anything in it I was wondering if I should put maybe like some minerals or something well quote unquote minerals probably like plank blocks randomly over here but I figured against that I think I want to

Keep this natural this is quite a big cave actually um finally enough caves were in the game this early but they have nothing in them there’s no ores yet there’s no survival mode either obviously so there’s like no purpose of even exploring these caves uh but yeah that’s that’s the mine it’s right

Underneath the castle I could have also made a dungeon probably but um oh well we have plenty of time to build other stuff uh in the future in the series especially in classic um and this is the village I built all of these houses in a

Um 5×5 format and as you can see I tried my best to spice them up a bit with uh the shapes or like the the blocks that I was using uh in order to make every house feel different so most of them are oh and I forgot to do the interior of

This one um most of them are um I mean all of them are very basic and the inter interior is always the same this is supposed to be a bed and a crafting table or chest or whatever um so these are all the houses there’s uh I don’t

Even know how many To Be Honest 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 11 houses in total unless I miscount it which is possible cuz I’m very turned around and yeah each house is like a slightly different shape I started off with this one uh probably

Like the richest house here and I went from there there’s a couple that probably like Sentry Towers not even Towers just you know I I guess guards live there I don’t know you make up your own story as you go that’s part of the magic of this game and what I really

Like about it uh this is sort of like the city center I was considering maybe doing a small Marketplace but I figured that would be a bit too much and it would take up too much space so instead I opted for a little gazebo SL campfire

Sort of thing with like seeds and this is like the campfire in the middle um so that’s the village that’s the castle up there and over here we have a farmhouse a very big farmhouse in fact um I guess farmers are quite uh quite uh wealthy in this uh this little not

Neighborhood in this nation or whatever you want to call it um yeah the the F house doesn’t going have much I didn’t have enough space in the attic to put a bedroom up there I always put bedrooms in attics I don’t know why uh but I didn’t have enough

Space up there unfortunately so uh there’s only a ground floor this is the kitchen area and a bit of a living room area here with a couch and a TV or something uh here is the windmill cuz you know it’s a farm I didn’t build a barn actually I just realized that I

Forgot to build a barn but oh well that’s the windmill right there and over here is like the actual like farm with crops and stuff uh yeah this this texture is honestly atrocious it’s so freaking bad even as crops it doesn’t work that well but this is about the

Most use you get out of this sapling texture the early one um and yeah that’s that’s basically it that’s that’s the build that’s the village and that kind of concludes not only my checklist for this version because I’m going to have like a small checklist for every version uh that we

Go through but also the end of this episode as well um next episode I’ll be upgrading to the next classic version um which is surprise surprise 0.0128 uh and that one adds quite a few new things so um we’ll have a lot of stuff to explore next time uh but until
