Hello wonderful people it’s wild here today i’ll be showing you how to build this super cozy mushroom cottage a lot of people really liked my mushroom mansion tutorial but found they wanted something just a little bit smaller so this build has all the mushroomy flair Of that one but is a lot easier to build this build would be a perfect addition to any cottage core world or to a mushroom kingdom if you would like a bigger version of this mushroom cottage check out this tutorial in the description down below so let’s get building The materials you’ll need for this build will be on your screen now this is the outline for today’s build you can see it’s roughly a rectangle with the corner cut out and the sections sticking out from the main rectangle where we’re going to have posts you can Also see the doorway martin in the center front we’re going to build beginner build working with some red wool and red mushroom blocks now these are going underneath each of the windows in groups of three like this and on the corner the red mushroom block will be counting for both groups of three You can see i’m leaving a one block gap in between each group as these will be located behind each of the posts i’m going to leave a gap here as we’re going to be having a chimney there and i’ll continue my way around the build here’s where these should be located Next we’ll place in our windows now these are two blocks high and made out of white stained glass panes and these are going on top of each of the red wool blocks Once you put all your windows in you can go around and build on top and beside them with some smooth sandstone like this now to finish off this base layer of walls i’m going to build in the location for the door with a red mushroom block Above it so this is centered on this front wall here and then you can just fill in the rest of the walls with some smooth sandstone blocks The only gap i’m leaving is in this corner here as that’s going to be the location for a post now the reason we’re not building behind the posts like we have with the rest of the posts in this build is leaving these blocks free on the diagonal gives us more floor space For our interior the posts are the next thing we’ll work on these are five high one two three four five so sit one above the height of the wall here and is spaced three apart all the way around the build Now that all the posts are in i can connect them up with some beams like this i’ll be leaving a gap here where we’ve got our chimney and skipping over to the next one above a window to finish off the post and beam look i’ll be placing a log coming out from Each of the joins now that we’ve got this in i’m going to add in our floors now for the bottom floor i’m going to be using stone brick but you could use any cool toned lock you’d like using a cool toned block here provides some nice Contrast as the rest of this build has got lots of warm tones And decide is another great option and it does look a lot like tiles Next i want to work on this top story and for this i want to have a post effect a post and beam effect so i’m going to come across with some more strip spruce logs and i’m going from join to join here creating three by three squares Is how it should look from above now for the floor itself i’m going to go in with some spruce planks first and i’m going to place these on top of each of the sandstone blocks here including behind the chimney and then i can fill in the gap with Spruce slabs i’ve left a gap here for the ladder for the second story And you can see that using slabs here makes the beams pop out from the ceiling the basic structure of the first layer of the build is really coming together so now i’m going to rotate round to the back and fill it in the gap here where we’ve got our chimney going For this i’m going to be using a mixture of mossy stone brick and regular stone brick so you can randomize these as you go you just want to aim to get the shape like this here you can see i’m going in with some stairs and creating this u-type shape and then I’m going to use a chiseled stone brick for a bit of a feature block then i’ll place in my stone brick above here and build up with some more stone bricks to the height of our wall i’m placing in another block here and some stairs coming forward one upside Down and one right way up and then i’m going to quickly grab some stripped spruce logs just to fill in this gap here here’s how the first layer of the chimney should look continuing our way up the chimney we’re going to have a block coming up this way Two blocks high and we’re going to switch to some chiseled stone brick and i’ll place two in like this then i’ll build two more up with blocks and come one back and i’m placing a stair in here now the shape of this chimney is following the shape of the roof line Here which is why it’s going to have a staggered look next i’m going to place in a stair facing forward like this some blocks coming up too high and coming forward from this i’m gonna have some stairs one upside down and one right way up finally i’m going to build up three high With some more stone bricks to finish this off i’m going to go in with some stone brick walls two here three here and then coming wet right down the bottom i’ve got one going in here and here’s how it should look continuing our work on the structure of This build here we’re going to work on the gables and for this we’ll need mushroom stem blocks so for these smaller gables i’m building a little hue shape then i’m placing my white stained glass panes and a block on top like this so that way we are going Up in steps of two and the roof will fill in these gaps so we have a gable at the center front as well as one opposite it at the back and then we have a matching gable on this smaller section that sticks out here on the right hand side Now the reason i’m placing in my window as we go and not just breaking a hole is i want this texture for the window frame and if i was to break my mushroom block so i ended up with this texture and that’s not what i want next we’ll work on the larger gables Starting with this one on the left hand side and i’m going to build up too high coming in three from either side here placing one in the middle and then going up four high with my white stained glass one two three four then i’ll just fill in the rest of my Gable building up in layers of two like this Here’s how it should look for the gable on the other side we only want to build it on this section where we don’t have a gable on this sticking out part so i’ll begin like we did before building two blocks across to this point here so that’s four blocks Then i’ll come up and go in one and i’m building up two i’m placing one block here with my window on top just two blocks high this time and then coming across another two so it should look like this so far finally i’ll finish my off my gable by building up too high And two steps like this now the next thing to add the deep slate edges that are going around each gable and we’ll start with this smallest one at the front first so i’m going to build one on the diagonal from this log here then i’m going to Come up another layer of stairs and i’m going to do this on both sides next i’ll place my stairs underneath and come up a block high with a stair on top And i’ll finish it off with an upside down stair two blocks and a slab it should look like this i’m going to create this same shape on the other two smaller gables coming out one diagonally on either side and continuing my way up So here’s what we’ve got now for the larger gables i’m going to start with this one on the left hand side so that’s the complete gable point and we’re going to be following along in a similar pattern so i’m coming out on the diagonal here then i’m coming up two layers of stairs And i’m doing this on both sides And then i’ll be growing going up in groups of blocks and stairs like this Until i reach the top where i’ll have a stair facing forward and then come up two blocks with my deep slate tiles and then one more on top with a slab now for the other side we want to begin the same way so on this side of the Cable it’ll be just like the left hand side but as we run into this um sticking out part of the build here we’ll need to make some slight changes so i’ll do this front facing side first and finishing off just like we did before with a slab on the top So here’s how that should look now i’m going to start working down and it’s going to start off basically the same but we’ll make some changes as we get towards the bottom so when i get to this point here we’re in line with where it joins up with the roof So i’m going to continue going but i’m going to skip this stair that would be there you could place a placeholder block here if you’d like to easily place this next stair next i’ll come down with my tiles and once again i’m going to skip the stair That goes underneath and just place one here and then i will place a block here and not come forward with my stair like that so just leave that free then i’m going to come around to the other side and i want to finish off the roof coming down towards this point here Just like we did on the other side And finishing with a block so here’s how that should look and you can check that these stairs all line up from the front of the smaller gable now to finish off this deep slate edging we’re going to switch to some deep seat tile slabs and just connect along these points like this This should be going over the top of these logs that it’s sticking out and connect up between all of the gables Here’s how the roof is looking now that we’ve got our outline for the roof in it’ll make it a lot easier to fill in the roof and for that we’ll be using red wool red mushroom blocks and a little bit of moss so you want to mix these in using mainly The red wool and the red mushroom blocks and the hint of moss will mean we can place some flowers on top once we’ve finished constructing the roof now it’s up to you how much and how little of each of these blocks you use but try to aim for a distribution kind Of like this That’s one side of this little roof done now to work on this side And you can always take a step back and change up where you have blocks so i might replace this one with a wool block and then bring some more mushroom blocks up this way like that now you can see on this smaller roof i’ve created a slight swoop and we want To create a nice big swoop on this larger roof so we’ll begin by creating that so i’m starting off just a slab below this top deep slate slab here and i’m going to build along so i’ve got two here now i’m going to drop down a level And i’m randomizing my blocks as i go and i’m going to come across four blocks like this and i think i might like a moss block here and then i’m going to come down a layer and build across three so here’s how that should look now i’m going to start building up again I’m gonna use some more moss building across four once again and then i’m going to finish off with our two blocks at the other side so here’s how it should look and another little look from the front now we also want to continue the swoop coming downwards as well and following Along the shape of the roof so i’m going to come across like this coming across three and then i’m going to drop down a layer here and i’m going to build all the way across to the three point on the other side i might put that in like this I’ve come across three and now i’m dropping down again and connecting up to the other side You can see how the swoop is getting a little more subtle but it’s still there on the second layer and i’ll also fill in the holes in the roof here just like that now we also want to continue the swoop coming downwards as well and following along the shape of the roof So i’m going to come across like this coming across three and then i’m going to drop down a layer here and i’m gonna build all the way across to the three point on the other side i might put that in like this i’ve come across three and now i’m Dropping down again and connecting up to the other side You can see how the swoop is getting a little more subtle but it’s still there on this second layer and i’ll also fill in the holes in the roof here just like that now for the final layer affected of the swoop i’m going to start on this Stair here and i’m going to build in five blocks i’ll do the same on the other side building in five locks And then i’ll come down a layer and connect these up so you’ll see that there is a five block gap here now i’ll fill in any holes that we created while creating our swoops we’ve got one here one over here and one on this side And this is how the back of the roof should be looking so from this point downwards we’re just going to be going in steps of two so i’ll start by filling in this gap here and i only need to fill up to the point where we’ve got our chimney on the side And i can fill in on this side as well like this and now we’ll go down in steps of two making sure i join up with this roof here i’ll start by placing in the top of this roof as a guideline And you’ll see it connects up to the larger part of the roof seamlessly and now i can work in my steps One side of the back of the roof is now done now to fill in this side And i’ll also fill in behind this stair here there we go the back of the roof is complete now we’re going to be following a similar principle of creating these swoops and then filling in the sides connecting to the gable on the front of the roof but we will be needing to leave A little gap on this side for a chimney so let’s start with creating the swoops for our gables once again i’m going to come across three blocks here on either side and then i’ll build all the way across the bottom so that’s our first layer in now i’ll build across five blocks Before dropping down to connect like this And then i need to fill in this gap here Taking a step back to look how it looks and now i can fill in these two gaps here and then continue going up in groups of two once again making sure i connect up to this cable so i’ll put in my swoop on the smaller gable as a guideline And then start filling in let’s start with this side so we can leave in our gap for our chimney i’m going to build up my first layer too high just as is expected Just like that now i’m going to do just one layer here connecting around the corner And this is where i’m going to leave my little gap so i’ll build a two over leave a two block gap before continuing along Here’s how it should look so you should just have a to a block hole here we’ll continue on as we did before just filling in these gaps building up two each time Do And there we have it our roof is filled in now that the base structure of the whole build is in we can start adding in the all-important details and we’ll begin by adding in the chimney to fill in this gap here so i’m building up too high Once again mixing some stone brick with some mossy stone brick then i’ll place in a chisel stone break block here and a stair facing towards it then i’m just going to build up another three hive with my stone brick and mossy stone brick i’ll place a stair at the back here And finish off with some walls three high like this now to finish off both this chimney and the chimney on the other side of the build i’m gonna place a campfire and surround it with some dark oak trapdoors isn’t that billowing smoke a lovely effect now we’re going to add some decorations To the lower story windows and we’ll start by creating some planters now for this i’m placing a podzol with a dark oak stairs either side like this and you can see a pop of the red from the mushroom blocks shows through and then for the front i’m placing Another dark oak trapdoor for a bit more decoration in each of these little alcoves i’m going to place a spruce stair upside down on either side and then a spruce trap door and you can see it creates this lovely arch shape so i’ll do this all the way around the build now In this corner here where we’ve got our chimney i’m just going to place one upside down spruce stair like that and now i’ll continue my pattern along when we come to this side where there isn’t a window i’m going to leave a gap here and we’ll come back with some Decorations after we’ve finished with this set And there we have it the first set of decorations now for this wall around here which doesn’t have a window we’re just going to place a longer pop pop planter here three blocks wide with the trapdoors in front of it and like we did it on the other arches i’m creating Um an arch like this with the stairs and trapdoor now that we’ve got these window sections complete let’s add in our door decorations so i’ll start off by creating a little arch with some spruce stairs but i won’t be placing in a trapdoor here instead i’ll place in a Lantern now to create an arch of the doorway i’ve got a dark oak slab and then two dark oak stairs and then i’ll add in some dark oak fences the next detail we want to add is some dark oak fence skates and i’m connecting up each of the posts and beams like this And in the corner here i’m going to place in a dark oak fence I’ll place these either side of the chimney and continue my way around the build For the winter decorations on the gables i’m going to create a place to put a pot plant by placing an upside down spruce stair with two trap doors on either side and then i want to hang a lantern in behind here on one chain like this and i’ll create the same decoration on All the small gables Now for the decoration on the left hand side larger gable i’m going to go on top of these fence gates coming in three on either side with some trapdoors i’ll then place in a spruce stair for us to put a pot on and then i’m going to hang a lantern Down from this stair here two chains down just like that now for this larger window i’d like to add in some dark oak trapdoors to provide a look over window shutters and using a darker block here provides some nice contrast to the light walls now i want to create a similar look on This smaller section of wall here for the larger gable but i’m going to come across with my spruce trap doors here and here and i’m going to place in just my stair with a trapdoor while we’re working on this section of the build it’s a good idea to fill in Here with just some red wool now you can mix in some red mushroom blocks if you’d like but they are kind of tucked away so they won’t be quite as visible now i’m going to add in my little window shutters for some dark trapdoors and i’m going to hang my lantern down Again two blocks two chain lengths down like this now we’ll add some decorations to each of these posts starting with a deep slate tile wall building two up with spruce fences and then finishing with a mossy stone brick wall using a bit of deep slate tiles in this Decoration here i’m at ties it together with the deep sleeve we’ve got going on on the roof It’s really coming together now now i want to finish off the front entryway and i’m going to do that by placing in a little section of stone brick and mossy stone brick and i’m creating a little pointed shape like this and then i’m going to add in my spruce Door i’m placing this from the inside so it’s flush with the wall when you’re looking from the inside but set back one when you’re looking from the outside an important detail that makes this build extra cute are the mushrooms that we’re going to add up the top here so I’m building a two high in the center of this three block section then i’m going to use a placeholder block to come out on a diagonal like this and build up three high one two three and here i’m using mushroom stems then i’m going to create a small Mushroom using red mushroom blocks like this and that’s our first mushroom complete now i want to put one on the other side of the build and i’m placing this down the bottom at the back i’ll build up too high again and come forward and build up three high and build another little mushroom Very cute now we want to create some window shutters on all of these lower story windows and for this i’m using birch trap doors make sure when you’re placing them that the handle section of the trapdoors are facing away from each other so you’re placing it on both the lower section and The upper section of each of the blocks Skip that side where there’s no window and continue around on the back so i’m just finishing off putting in my window shutters as well as some greenery and let’s have a look at the build so you can see i’ve placed some red tulips some red mushrooms and some ferns In all of our pot plants and i’ve put pots on top of each of these gable windows here on top of the roof i’ve stuck to the green ferns and torphones and some white flowers using lily of the valley white tulips and these azur flowers for the garden i’ve stepped to greens And reds and neutral shades of browns and grays and this really makes the belt pop now if you’d like to see some ways you can
