Insane Pupmeister Ice Farm in Minecraft

Hey it’s pup meister and today I’m going to be showing you how to make two different ice farms and even a powdered snow Farm as a bonus so why am I here you can I unfortunately have as you can see behind me all kinds of snowy biomes

Right next door to my home which is in the distance behind me there you definitely want to be in a snowy biome in order to do the powdered snow and the ice Farms now if you don’t have um a snowy biome nearby go to the mountains because on the top of the

Mountains quite often it becomes snowy as well and it can be done on top of a mountain just as easily so let’s get started so let’s start with a super easy Farm uh if it’s early game and you need some ice or something like that first thing you want to do is let’s

Make an infinite water source I know some people like to do the 2 by two but I prefer the 3x one and you just basically put your water in each side like this and you can grab from the middle and get as much water as you need

So oh and if for some reason well not for some reason it will freeze up on you just break it no biggie all right so let’s begin you’re going to need I’m not sure actually about the specifics but about 10 stairs about 14 slabs and about six planks now

I’m just using Spruce because there’s spruce trees all around here I do recommend wood just because when you use your pickaxe with silk touch you won’t destroy some of your blocks by accident okay because obviously pickaxes take a little more to destroy wood so the first

Thing you want to do is grab your stairs and your planks and you basically want to do seven across so one two 3 4 5 6 7 7 and then 1 2 3 4 5 six 7 now the reason I’m putting a couple blocks in here is because with the newest

Updates ice blocks do not seem to want to form next to stairs like this so I put a couple blocks in here just so ice can form over on this side and start spreading from there now you can grab your planks and go one two 3 4 five six 7 and 1 2 3 4 five six 7 okay and you want to put a block on the back end of each one just like that and now you want to grab your water and you want to go over to the corner Place one here Place one in the

Corner and then the one in the middle actually becomes an infinite water source just like you have over there and so just to prevent yourself from having to go all the way way over there you can create new ones over here but it’s always good to have a

Backup water source like that and you’re water logging the stairs basically because stairs will not freeze so this will continue giving you water and then you’ll have something like this and then you basically just have to put in more water actually every second one so I kind of messed up there doesn’t matter

If you put a few extra in to be honest and just fill this up until you have a standing water Pond like this the slabs will prevent the water from coming out and these will all give you the infinite water and as you can tell the ice is already forming

Here so this is the easiest ice Farm if you want something super quick something that will continue to make ice for you this is it it does take some time for ice to form but as you can see it is forming quite nicely already and the ice will form off

Of the slabs as well and then when you break it all you need is a silk touch pickaxe just like that and you can grab them all as you need them and ice will just keep on forming and this is the easiest ice Farm there is so you can just really quickly

Make this uh great for early game maybe even mid game if you know you don’t need that much ice um this should suffice so before we go to the second level and even though I’m going to a second level of ice Farm you know I like to keep

Things simple so even our uh second level ice Farm even though it will automatically collect the ice um it will still be easy because I know there are ice Farms out there with like tons of pistons and red stone and all kinds of stuff no now before we start that level two

Ice Farm I’m going to just quickly because I mentioned about making a farm for powdered snow as well so let’s get that started because it’s just super easy especially if you have an iron farm all you need are a ton of cauldrons that’s all so um I don’t know let’s just put them

Over here it doesn’t really matter where you put them because they will collect snow as it falls and I’m just going to make two here you you could make a huge Square doesn’t matter because when they fill you can just go along the top here and scoop out the powdered snow that you

Want and how this works and you can put down as many of these as you like but as it snows these will slowly fill up with powdered snow and the more you have I guess the quicker something will fill because it does take a fair amount of

Time for these guys to fill fill up and of course you have to wait for it to snow it would be raining you know if we went over here into the lovely Green Pastures it will be raining but over here it turns to snow as you know well

Look at that I’m a poet and I don’t even know it okay so anyways um this will fill and you can just scoop it as you go okay so we’ll just leave these here for now and like I said you can make as many as you want the faster you want it the

More you should put out so let’s begin our second level ice Farm which is very similar to this but just adds a little extra so this is what you’re going to need roughly for the level two ice Farm two chests two Hoppers about 66 rails six powered

Rails six lovers couple buckets of water um unless you’ve made the infinite water source already that we did earlier um five ladders about 15 slabs about four uh stacks of planks and about 15 stairs and again I would use wood just so you don’t break something by accident with your

Pickaxe so let’s get started so this time we are going to go above ground a little bit because we don’t want to be on the ground where mobs can get us for this one so you want to go three blocks up one two whoops three and then you want to go 14

Blocks this way one 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 and of course you know on this channel we do everything in survival all right and now you want to put a block on the end here and then

This is where we want to put our double chest so let’s do that and then you want to break this one come to the back and this is where we want to put our Hoppers and both Hoppers will go into the back of the chest and you can tell if they’re

Facing the chest just like that okay now so you want to place another block right on the end and then two more blocks this way and then you basically want to put 16 blocks over and it will match to there so 1 2 3 15 16 okay just like that and

Then you want to bring this one up to the same amount just like that now we want to go back over to this side we want to bring this one all the way to the end to match the other two okay so now we want to place the rails

So let’s just make little stairwell here so we can get up you want to place another block on top there and our first powered rail will go right there and we will be using Our Le and flick it just like that so this powered rail will now be activated and now you want to place six regular rails 1 2 3 4 5 six and then you want to put in another powered rail there and of course you’re going to want

To lever on the side and click it so this becomes activated now you want to take your regular rails and continue all the way whoops guess you want to do that and bring it around like this and continue until you get to this powered Rail and that’s where you want to put in

Another powered Rail and we’re going to be placing levers underneath this whole section because the powered rails will continue across so we’ll do that at the end all right so now we’re going to continue with our regular rails now when you get to here if that happens you’re just

Going to have to break both of these and then replace this put another one there so it bends this way and then you can replace that powered rail just like that then you want to continue your regular rail to here where we’re going to put another powered rail which again we will

Activate with a lever underneath and then we want to bring it all the way over here I just realized we don’t really need the four extra blocks at the end so let’s just bring it around right here and keep going okay and then we’ll reach the powered rail we’ll keep going

And place the last powered rail now you want to grab a couple extra blocks and you want to just make another block like that come down you want to activate this and then if you look up here this should be activated if for some reason these rails get mixed up

Like they did here just just break them connect this one first and then put the powered rail back the next thing we want to do is activate all three of these guys so Place flick Place flick and place flick okay and then all of our powered rails should be activated now just like

That okay so it should basically look like this at this point you want to come over to this side and grab more of your planks and you want to place four planks above just like that and then you want to bring them all the way to the other side

Okay so it should be over just like that and then it looks like we’re going to need some stairs on this side and you want to do the same all over again I don’t want to fall off the end here okay but you’re going to be ma matching it up just like

That and you want to do the same with the next one and last last but not least with this last one okay so it should basically look like this four across and all the way over and then you want to place one more row of blocks over the front where the chest

Is just like that okay now that that’s done you want to come back up top like this and you want to grab your stairs now we want to place our stairs and this side is where the chest is so we’re actually going to be oops we’re actually going to be placing the

Stairs like this on the on the side with the chest and every second one you want to place a block okay just like this and again the reason we’re doing this is because for some reason and I’m in Java so maybe Bedrock is different but for some reason

Um it doesn’t want to form ice on the stairs now we’re going to have to have full stairs when we’re going around a corner like that okay and that should be straight like that so here this guy we could actually put another block just like this and you actually want to

Put one more stair at the end like that and then if you can sneak out the front here you’re going to put put one more and then you’re going to pop down here and this is where you want to put all of the slabs so one two three all

The way to the end and then we’re just going to adjust our stairs so that we can still come up to the top okay so it should should we’re actually going to need one more slab and we’re just going to put a block there okay so over here we can get rid

Of that and also place a block okay so it should look like that we’ll go grab one more it’s always a good idea to have extra building blocks because you know like this can happen and you never know so now that we have our one more

Slab we can put that in and this is what it should look like now because it’s been snowing let’s take a real quick look over here and you can see the powdered snow is slowly filling up some of the cauldrons and like I said it takes a lot of

Time now you want to come right back up now we want to place water in our area here so just Place one in there you want to place it in the stair and then another one in the corner there and this will actually create an infinite water

Source in between so we don’t have to go all the way back to our infinite water source down there okay and then you just want to fill up all of the stairs okay so once you fill up all of the stairs that are available just like that just like

Before now we want to place water on every second block here so there and there and you can see ice is already starting to form there there okay and then once that is done you’ll see the ice starting to form and it will be forming all along the front and

Anywhere we put those blocks and then of course ice begins to form off the ice as well like you can see there and before you know it this whole thing is going to be full so let’s go to the next step so the next thing we want to do is place our mine

Cart with hopper and we just need a couple blocks to get up here there we go and we want to place the mine cart with hopper right there on the powered Rail and then it will begin its little journey all the way around underneath and when it reaches the end

It will bounce back and come forward and every time the mine cart goes over these two Hoppers it will drop any ice that it has picked up and put it into the chest now I guess if you’ve made these stairs we’re going to have to break these think we have a little zombie

Underneath in a cave somewhere now we want to place blocks right here so that it’s fully solid there and we’re going to place one block there and then another block there and this block can actually be broken and then let’s bring this all the way across just like that and then we can

Come over to this side and just put blocks down to the bottom and depending on your surrounding terrain this is where you want to put your ladders so you can come up here and then again you want to place a block there and a block there this block under here can go

And then you want to place a block there and all the Way back to this side so when you’re done it should look like this now you can leave it open like this or if you want extra protection you can place a door here maybe some glass so you can look out instead of more blocks but you can do blocks as well and just

Put a roof over this and the roof would kind of look like that okay so that that you have access to the ice from here and I think I will probably do that I think I will I’ll put a roof over this because this will protect us if you’re

Down here for you know an extended period of time if Phantoms spawn this will protect you from that and if any skeletons or whatever spawn you know so they can’t shoot you while you’re in here it would be a good idea to put a door and I’m going to put glass all in

Here because I like to look out why be in a dark spot when you can Place Glass here so that’s what I’m going to do there this corner block can go because it’s not really necessary and my apologies for not giving you the options in the chest when we began but I

Will get the extra things we need here and then I’ll be back now that I’ve made the changes let’s go up and see okay so I put a little lip out on both Corners where I put a torch and that will light this up enough that nothing spawns and it’s far away enough

So that it won’t melt the ice and of course I put glass in the sides I put glass up here just so I can see up a little bit not really necessary but it is what it is now as you saw earlier when I broke all this the water didn’t stay full they

Didn’t stay as sourc blocks so I had to make a couple changes so let us check out what I did now I want you to ignore this middle part because I did something to this side which I haven’t done to this side yet and I want to show you the

Difference um after that I’ll take all this out and it can be one long one the first main thing I had to do was I had to put down a second row of slabs beside so basically it matches the bottom of the stair and you put it all

The way across when you put them when you first put them in they might be um like this no water and then you have to take your water buckets and make each one a source block so in other words you’re dumping water on top of each slab

And it becomes like this so what that does is it now keeps everything as a source block this won’t freeze just like stairs so you will have all this you can break it and it won’t affect the water flow like it did before okay and this is

Super easy to add so even if you’ve done everything already you can add this no problem it’s super easy you don’t have to change anything you just add it the next thing I did and I think things are frozen enough to show you now cuz we’re just missing one here and

We’re missing one here so I’m going to go down and show you and this has to do with the collection of the ice okay so basically again let’s just start over here and we’ll just keep on going all the way whoops don’t have to go out the door

Though so let’s go up and check this out okay so notice how all the ice has been picked up by the cart maybe I wasn’t close enough I didn’t get the back ones but notice how there’s no ice here I’m going to just break these just to here we

Go okay so notice how here we have maybe two blocks of ice that because of the way Water Works they didn’t get picked up now if we come over here and look look at all the ice that isn’t getting picked up like lot now we got

All this is frozen again but look at all the ice from before that is not picked up so notice the difference so I did something over here that I did not do over here yet and I’m going to show you how to do that so that your ice gets

Picked up you know at a 95% rate instead of a 10% rate or 15% rate or 20% or whatever the heck this rate is but it’s not very good whatever it is and as you can tell I just added a little platform here coming out the door so I can come

Up here so if there is some ice that didn’t get picked up or you want to do something up here it’s easy access okay so let’s talk about what we did differently okay so what did did I do well you need to get a bunch of slabs and you have to wait

Until the water is frozen so you can kind of see what I did here if we go in and we Crouch notice how there’s like half a block of water or air underneath the ice well that’s because when this is all Frozen you break the blocks that are under here and

Replace them with slabs on the lower half okay so here you can see the blocks are right here so we’re going to break all these blocks once this freezes over and we’re going to replace it with slabs and once this is frozen I’ll go underneath and show you exactly what

We’re going to do so I just broke the middle out and I’m going to put slabs in here now I may have already water logged them so they’re not going in as you know regular slabs but I’m going to water log them anyway just in case

Just to make sure this is all good because I only did this we’re up to here so we’re going to have to do all of this as well while we’re waiting for the last piece of ice to freeze here I know there’s one over here but we’ve done

This area so it doesn’t really matter um and you can kind of see even through the ice the difference so we’re just waiting for this one last guy right here to freeze and we will get started but in the meantime I also just want to bring your attention to the fact that over

Every single block I placed a slab so nothing spawns up here okay cuz we certainly don’t want that and putting light up here tends to melt the ice so slabs are a good thing so now that all all the ice is Frozen let us go down and see exactly

What we need to do here I’m always a little careful because the one time I came down there was a creeper hiding here and it blew up this entire side I was not impressed let me tell you okay so anyway what we want to

Do is I think we did about six in and as you can tell from the bottom there’s no difference it doesn’t look any different once you actually do it okay so I think we did what one 2 3 4 5 6 so this is kind of where we left off I

Think so I’m just going to come up here and what we’re going to do is break oh did I not go in Far Enough actually that’s one of the slabs I see so we’re going to put the slab back and we want to go a little

Further okay so you want to go one two three and you can stop uh the card while you’re doing this but I actually kind of like to keep it going because it will pick up all of our blocks that we chop out so it’s kind of Handy just make

Sure you don’t hit your cart okay so from down here maybe with one you can see all the frozen ice above okay and you just want to go a little further and you kind of want to do the same thing over here and just kind of keep it going and I

Think I may have broken another one lovely just make sure you’re hitting it far enough over so that you’re not breaking your slabs not sure what I broke here kind of looks like a full I’ll just put that back and then let’s just check one more

Time here I think we need to do one more all right all the way to the corner and you can see we’ve got all the ice here Now and same over here and you can see kind of right there we’ve got the slabs from before and now you just take your slabs and you fill it back in but now you are a little lower down and that will tend to suck your ice cubes downwards so

That it will be picked up a lot easier and just keep going fill it all in with slabs just like this and this is really an order of operations and other words this can’t be done while you’re building it you have to fill it with water you have to kind

Of get it all done you can do the um original slabs as I showed you um that keep the water as Source blocks so now when we come up okay we’ve got this entire thing here you can see we didn’t miss anything so that’s good okay so now let’s break it

All and see how well it gets picked up now so let’s start over here and break it all go just keep going all the way down just like that okay and then we can come on out and take a peak there will be some of course that continue floating because unfortunately that’s water

Buoyancy I mean that’s just the way it’s going to work they’re going to float to the top of the water and if if they’re floating to the top of the water well obviously they can’t get picked up by the cart but only seven didn’t get picked up now sorry

Only eight didn’t get picked up now and how many are there here three so out of 48 blocks of ice only eight didn’t get picked up in this case uh so that’s not bad and like I said you can always make a little platform on the side here so you can

Come up and grab anything that doesn’t if you so desire and to be honest you don’t really have to wait uh for the ice to fully get done you can just like keep going back and forth and breaking them as they appear it’s not a big

Deal see that got picked up and that’s the benefit of doing the half slabs a little lower and again it has to be done at the end when you’re done everything else you can definitely and I highly recommend doing these slabs first as part of the whole water

Log uh situation but once ice forms that has to be done afterwards okay and there you have it this is the level two ice Farm again pretty easy to make um no it does not give you 100% pickup but it definitely does the job it

Gives you Stacks and stacks of ice and I think it’s definitely a worthwhile farm and if you so desire you could even extend it out longer so you can make you know a really long Farm you just have to extend the tracks probably put in a couple more power

Rails uh you can even extend your chest if you want if you especially if you extend this and um yeah you can make this as big as you want make lots and lots of ice and don’t forget we also made our our level one ice Farm which was great

Um I tried the reason the reason I had issues with water here is I tried to make the same concept work here but I guess it has to be more Square um and of course we are limited to a five block radius when it comes to our pickaxe so

It just wouldn’t work here which is why I had to put in that second um level of slabs to keep the water at its full retention and last but not least we also came over here just making sure there’s no creepers and we did a snow powder farm so as it’s

Snows these fill up like this one here and you can grab the snow and you get powdered snow okay and if you need this to work a lot faster well you can always put more cauldrons it won’t allow you to pick up the snow unless it’s full so there you go so once
