Hello everyone my name is picks her riffs and welcome back to the sky blocks Survival Guide I hope you guys are having a good day we’re back here in the sky block world and unlike the previous couple of episodes I have made no progress off camera you basically rejoin Us immediately after we’ve ended the previous episode where if you’ll remember we got ourselves a couple of villagers cured at long last and we have a couple of them down here in the little pods that I set up to make sure that they will remain safe I’m also going to Step off here and check on the progress of this turtle egg which looks like it hasn’t hatched any further I’ve intentionally made sure that I didn’t sleep all the way to night although I did end up hopping into bed briefly and leaving the bed again before it actually Skipped through the night just so I could make sure that I ended up skipping the phantom insomnia counter so hopefully we should be reset and not have to worry about phantoms we’re down low enough in the world that they won’t bother us anyway but yes more zombies Are still spawning over here on this platform I have decided that we’re probably going to use the red stone from the cleric that I can trader from this guy to actually make a few more dispensers potentially get some more water buckets on the go and then figure Out how we can turn a platform like this into a more productive mob spawner effectively automating the kind of things we’ve been doing over there with the husk spawning platform and maybe that will become a permanent mob spawner considering it also produces sand for us without the need for a player kill but Really I am done relying on zombies for iron I think I’m going to try my best to breed up a few villagers in this episode so that we can rely on some of the trades that they’re going to give us now as I brought up in the last episode it’s Not going to be possible for us to get an armored ax or a tool Smith villager quite yet because those rely on having work stations that require you to have iron ingots to make them like the blast furnace for the armor requires five iron ingots which is pretty hefty the tool Smith requires two iron ingots to make his work station which while not as much as the armor is still pretty significant however a weapon Smith would be a lot easier as it requires only a grindstone and that’s something that you can make with a couple of sticks and a stone slab So that is much more within my budget right so I think the next thing we’re gonna do is break out these villages into a little breeding area which I think for now I will make down here purely for the purposes of breeding up the villages and I think unfortunately it is probably Going to be time to get rid of these bees a lot of them are just hovering down here at the void and I really think we should probably get rid of them by shooting them however I’m a little bit worried that they’re gonna swarm towards Me if I start shooting them so I think for now what I’m gonna do is stash all of my stuff in this chest over here on the off chance that it means something valuable might end up being lost in particular the emeralds are something I’m worried about preserving I wonder if the traders Will have unlocked those trades yet no looks like they have not but hopefully some time soon okay let’s stash all of the stone and stuff in here as well this chest needs a bit of a rejigger anyway but now that the bees are renewable in One 15.2 I don’t need to worry too much about keeping this specific set of bees around I guess I could try and fish them out of the void with a fishing rod but I need to have something for them to go into ideally as some sort of hive or Nest down here that they would be able to fly into and then something to stop them falling back down into the void again like a case around the bee nests that we have up here so I think probably what I’m gonna do is just rely on bee Nests respawning up here sometime and in the meantime I’ll just take care of the bees that are down there there we go got a stack of arrows in there probably got more hidden around here I know I’ve got a few there as well how’s that turtle egg now hatched an additional stage now We’ve completed the night it has its own hatching level – okay so I think what I’m gonna do is bring down the other turtle egg and add it to that one just so we end up getting both turtles hatching at the same time it’s gonna be a little bit easier to manage breeding That way and these bets are flying around here as well I need to make sure that the bats don’t end up somehow interacting with the turtle egg now people have pointed out of course that these bees are also going to be contributing to the passive mob camp While they are down here and at likewise the cow platform that I set up a couple of episodes ago is going to be part of the problem as well so I think what I’m going to do today is breed up a bunch of these cows as much as I can and then Cull the herd back so we get some other mobs spawning around here ideally we want some sheep we want some you know other animals some eggs maybe as well yep looks like the bees aren’t attacking me probably because I can just one shot them with this power bow that’s probably for the Best and it looks like that one over there has gotten angry at me but it doesn’t seem to be flying towards me so I think they’re pathfinding is just hobbled a little bit by the fact that they are down here at the level of the Void can I even hit that one from this distance yep looks like I did okay fair enough and then this B over here I believe is the last one that I have seen down here yet perfect okay that’s probably all of the bees taken care of I Will try and bullseye some of these bats as well yep there we go whoo that was a lucky shot I’m normally absolutely terrible at hitting bats but it sounds like our traders have restocked those trades so let’s do a little bit more trading get myself some redstone a heck yes and then We should hopefully be able to make a start on some of the other things I want to do this episode 41 emeralds guys can you believe it personally I can’t and I think I’m going to buy some more apples off of this guy mainly because that makes it slightly easier to get apples That we would want to for curing more villages if we end up with more zombie villagers spawning over there that platform is completely silent now which is nice and now let’s get as much redstone as we conceivably can which is 24 for that trade and I’m sure we’ll be Able to get a little bit more if we walk away a little bit wait for him to reset his trades which they do by working at the work station a couple of times come back here and oh okay maybe he is still doing it on the daily timer I had a Feeling that they now restocked their trades whenever they worked at a work station but still only did it twice per day it may be back to being on a specific timer again so we’ll wait for the Sun to reach midday and then we’ll try trading with redstone again but 24 Redstone dust is really quite a windfall at this stage of a Skyblock world we already had quite a few apples in there but twenty-one apples is not really a bad amount and I think what we could also do is head out to the nether end up Doing a little bit of gold farming and trade some gold with that guy as well not to mention having a little bit more gold for some golden apples would not be a bad idea either and I wonder what else we’ll be able to trade with that priest Villager I’m pretty sure lapis is going to be a minor concern not really a big deal until we get in chanting and maybe ender pearls and stuff like that might be kind of useful to get from him as well unlocking the farmers later trait is also gonna be kind of cool because the Farm will be able to trade us better food sources like golden carrots and even rabbits too I guess wouldn’t be too bad considering we’re here in Skyblock and we don’t really have to worry too much about cutting that stuff around with us we’re working with a fairly limited amount of terrain Here of course my main priority right now should be getting an iron farm set up but for that we really need a reliable village of reader and so I’m not going to trade all of these vegetables with this guy in fact I think I’m probably going to keep a lot of them For a field that we will plant and it may not be a fully infinite one depending on how I can get the mechanics to work out but I think for now it will probably suffice setting up a higher yield melon and pumpkin farm would also Be a nice idea but I think that’s going to rely on us getting some Pistons so that we can have these things harvested automatically but then that is really going to be our ticket to Emerald City with these villages I think that’s going to be very worthwhile to have while I Think about it let’s bring that extra turtle egg down and combine it with the one that we’ve got sitting in our former mob spawner just so that the turtles will do they’re hatching thing on time there we go combining those two means they both reach the same hatch level and Hopefully they should both hatch in a reasonable amount of time another couple of nights should see those being perfectly ready to hatch it will do a little bit more trading there we go got myself another 24 for a total of 48 a redstone dust that’s very exciting stuff And with you I think I’ll probably just use the composter if you don’t mind we’ve also just unlocked the next level of this clerics trades which includes glowstone that’s very exciting and if we had any rabbits spawns down here in this Plains biome which unfortunately I don’t Think rabbits do we could also start trading rabbits feet for emeralds not a bad set of trades if you ask me an emerald per block of glowstone is also pretty cool if we want to start doing some lighting we got the redstone dust to turn those into redstone lamps if we Want to use for redstone dust every time which personally I don’t but yeah realistically having villager trading is opening up a lot of other opportunities for us and that is why we need to make more villages so the process of building a village of reading module out here is actually Going to be relatively simple as long as I can place blocks in the right way anyway I don’t plan on making it especially complicated or even right now an infinite villager breeder because realistically we’re only going to need a few villagers to kick things off here we Will only need one or two to start with and then we can maybe push them upwards towards the island in a water stream and that way the villagers who are down here will be able to breed whenever a few villagers have kind of left the nest as It were I really think we’re not going to need that many villagers here and making it infinite is going to be you know it conceivably a good thing in the short term but in the long term we don’t need that many villagers for this Skyblock world at least not for now we Can maybe consider some of that stuff later but right now I’m mainly interested in just getting a few more villages under our belts so that we can feel happy to leave some of them in an iron farm and not worry too much about trading with them so the idea is to make A relatively secure area back here with around nine beds I think ten might be the condition on which zombie sieges start and that was absolutely the last thing I wanted in this world so I really think 9 beds is probably going to be the maximum we will do for now but that is In theory going to mean we end up with nine villages which is a lot considering we’ve only started with two now I’m gonna lay out an area of farmland here that our farmer is going to be able to work and that way he’s going to be able To continue to feed the rest of the villages around here while we are away from this area we’ve got a decent amount of dirt here I will need to produce a little bit more either through the composter or through the gravel duplication method I have a little bit More gravel upstairs if I need it but for now I think I’ll probably just hoe a little bit more of this and we should be fine and then we’re going to turn this entire area into farmland that plants some carrots and that let the villagers do their thing with a few beds around The outside that should be totally fine the first thing we need to do of course is make sure that we have enough beds and right now I’ve only got materials enough for four here plus the one I’ve got over there at the husk farm which I could probably repurpose over here and The one that I have been using myself they’re on the island I think the next thing is really going to be to reduce the number of cows in this area so Tomica n– spawn and we can share them for their wool alternatively actually I think we’ve probably got enough spider String around here somewhere and baby turtles have hatched look at them look at their tiny little bodies that’s so so great okay hopefully these turtles should have a nice easy time growing up we have a little bit of sea grass we can use to breed them in fact I’ll pop a Chest down here and I will put it maybe here on this corner and we will make sure there’s some sea grass is in there for a little bit later when we’ll be able to breed those two turtles up we could grow them artificially with sea grass in the meantime but the durability On those shears is worth preserving yes there we go got more than enough string in here what are they thinking okay let’s make ourselves a few more beds then I think up to nine is probably going to be where I will leave it let’s make a little bit more wood from these Perfect I think that actually comes to nine beds total brilliant let me put the rest of the wool and wood in here and I think we will let’s maybe make some offenses for down there just so we can ensure that nothing walks off the edge of the platform Okay the sea grass is safely in the chest hopefully neither of these turtles will end up too close to the corners of these blocks because I have a feeling once they grow up they might be able to glitch through the corners here and fall down we could maybe fill those in with Blocks if I’m worried about that but I don’t think I need to worry too much about it it is I believe also possible to spawn Turtles on sand blocks in a beach biome one I haven’t found a beach biome yet I expect one would be out There somewhere so we might be able to locate that if anything does happen to those turtles but it is nice to make sure that we can breed the turtles using the eggs that we had from the beginning makes things a little bit more simple I suppose okay so what we’ve ended up with Is a seven by seven platform here basically three blocks to either side of this water source all of that farmland should hydrate nicely we can plant a big field of carrots down here and this is gonna be the prime farming ground for the farmer and whatever villagers end up In here around the edges of the field I am gonna make a little bit of room that we can place down these beds because right now I’ve just got them in my inventory taking up space and I think we’re going to build little modules of three beds around the sides here with Extra fences around the that I need to go and craft just so we have a little bit of security make sure that the villagers don’t pop outside off the farm at any point and I think we’re probably going to just move the farmer and the cleric in here with their Workstations for now just so that they can continue to work and hopefully breed and then once we have a few baby villages in here it should hopefully grow up into adult videos in time we will end up being able to either choose their occupations here or transport them Up to somewhere else in the world maybe up to the central island there where hopefully they’ll be able to take on new professions and get some brand new trades on the go using a little bit of bone meal to grow the carrots just so I Have a few more to trade and also so that we have a decent amount for the farmer to get started cramming into his inventory this is what I’m talking about with the bed situation just a simple area of three beds here and probably the same on these other two Sides and then we’ll put the workstations somewhere else around the perimeter the composter of course will go in the middle because that’s going to stop them bobbing up and down in the water source I think this is going to be a neat little setup and if we want to we Can go onto one of these corners build a tube upwards so that we can set up a water elevator or maybe even replace this ladder here with a water elevator and have them use whatever we use to get up and down to the central island I think that’s going to be perfect let’s Do a little bit more work here and then we should be able to let the two villages in alright all the areas where they could potentially walk off this little platform seem to have been taking care of for now I think it should be time to let these guys out of their Little trading stations here and see if they want to go to bed all right let’s bring the cleric out here looks like he’s gonna find his bed nice and easily perfect and now hopefully the farmers should be able to do the same we’ll move his composter into this area now and for Now I’m just gonna put the composter in the central section there probably just put a stone brick block on top of it and surround that with torches so that we have light to all of the crops in the centre of the farm and also so that Nothing is tempted to spawn up on top of that I should probably make sure I don’t trample the crops too much here you know what let’s add a trapdoor to that as well just to make sure that we can guarantee there will be nothing spawning on top of there that looks nice and Straightforward now let’s get some sleep and see if Villages wants to breed in the morning okay they’re all hopped out of bed lovely let’s it throw them a few carats that I’ve been able to farm and let’s continue spreading the crops in this field so we should hopefully be able to Gather up a few more carats to give to them in the meantime I’m gonna block off each of these I’m going to bring the clerics brewing stand in here of course so that we have easy access to that I don’t think he was brewing anything right away so let’s pop that down there And fill the rest of this cobblestone in we should be able to manufacture a way for us to get out of here via a ladder or something like that a little bit later let’s throw out some of these carrots so they can start throwing them back and forth to each other beginning That courtship process and the fact that there is an empty bed here a spare bed should mean that they are interested in breeding fairly soon we’ll probably add a few more beds around the outside here though to speed up the process and make sure it continues once at least you have Produced at their first child and in the meantime if we get any more zombie villagers that we fancy bringing over here and curing we can always cure those to get the extra trade discount which would not be a bad thing considering that we have a lot of trading to do in The near future ah that’s a problem that’s a problem we might need to make sure that that brewing stand is moved a little bit further away just so they can’t jump up on the fences with it because the last thing we want right here is one of the villages to throw Itself into the void by mistake so maybe we will add to the fences around the outside here as well just making sure that there is enough lighting to make sure no mobs will spawn and just walk into this farm and try and take out the villages and it looks like our two Turtles have grown up and produced two scoots there it is scoot scoot we have ourselves some Turtle suits fantastic we are two-fifths of the way to getting ourselves a turtle shell helmet but these two turtles should now be able to breed and start burying their eggs in The sand here there we go we got the turtle party goal which means hopefully that we should have more turtles on the way and these turtles should not damage their own eggs so should be perfectly fine to leave them in here and laying some eggs while we go out about our Business wow you seem to have produced a lot of eggs madam how many do you have to that fantastic two more turtles is a huge advantage I’m gonna go ahead and expand at the rest of this little farm and maybe make it so the brewing Stan isn’t right up close to the farmland Because one of the the cleric villager keeps hopping up and jumping off of it which is trampling the farmland a little bit but hopefully soon we should see some baby villages start to be born down there and then we can figure out what professions they are going to take on Hey folks welcome back and there is some great news our villagers have started to breed they’ve already produced one child and it looks to me like a second child is going to be on the way very very soon the child is jumping up and down on the Bed a little bit but the fences around the outside here have been heightened a little bit just so that we can have a little bit more room so that they don’t end up jumping from the beds to the fences and then off the edge of the World I feel like if they got down to the other side of those blocks they might not walk off the edge willingly but I have a feeling they wouldn’t be able to get back over through the fences but there we go we have two child Villages now and a few more should be on the way they should breed until they fill up all nine of these beds at which point we will have nine villages so I moved the brewing stand over here against the wall I’ve moved the wall up one block to make sure that they don’t End up like jumping over the top of it thanks to the brewing stand and now I’m trying to figure out exactly which workstations I can make with the resources I have available to me I’ve made some paper out of the sugar cane that we’ve been growing so I can Make a cartography table and also with two string and some some planks we can make ourselves a loom so the very least we’ll be able to have a cartographer and a Shepherd we would really benefit from having a sheep farm if we want to you know have a shepherd to trade wool with Although I’m pretty sure they will trade us other stuff including I believe some shears for an emerald which could be a really useful way of bypassing the fact that she is unnecessary to make iron and would allow us to farm even more sheep and other cool stuff that way we could Get leaves to build with and stuff as well which would be very very useful it looks like these guys have thrown some carrots on the ground over here so I’m just kind of Tidy those up real quick now in terms of other workstations we can make I’m pretty sure we can make a Lectern so that we could get a librarian as well and of course I mentioned earlier the grindstone so we can get ourselves a weapon Smith and the weapon Smith I think is going to be one of our highest priorities because it’s going to allow us access to iron and diamond Tools so I’m not going to worry too much about the cartography table and the loom just yet instead I think I’m going to make myself a couple of other workstations and wait for these two to breed before we add in at the cartography table and the loom though Kind of peripheral at this point and instead let me look up what I need to make a grindstone because I have forgotten this entirely you need two planks two sticks and a stone slab okay so I already made some stone slabs I just didn’t realize that I didn’t have Enough sticks on me that should be enough to make ourselves a grindstone perfect I’m gonna pop that in here now so that when one of the baby villages grows up which should hopefully be sometime soon they will instantly become a weapon Smith and that is going to be Very useful for us another thing we can do is grind this gravel until we get a little bit of extra Flint because two Flint and a two wood or maybe it’s forward I can’t quite remember the recipe but it’s a fletching table and Fletcher’s are very cool in that they will actually buy Sticks from you for emeralds and sticks of course with a tree farm like the one we have up there are a nice easy resource to acquire don’t even need to worry about farming mobs at the same way you do for things like rotten flesh all we would need would be a decent wood Farm and we could make sticks for the flexure to our hearts content there we go for wood end to Flint that’s the recipe we got ourselves a fletching table and I might stick this in the enclosure now as well simply because it’s going to be nice to have a nice Easy stick trade when one of these grows up into a Fletcher what’s next I’m trying to think of the other stuff that we can make with the resources that we have we will definitely be able to make a barrel that could be the work station for a fisherman but then aside from that Things get a little bit more complicated we’ve got the brewing stand there for the cleric already but some of the others require iron we mentioned the smithing table and the blast furnace earlier but cauldrons are for leather workers and even though a leather worker would be a great person to trade with Considering how many cows we’re able to breed up now I have a feeling that it’s going to be difficult to get seven iron for a cauldron not only that but the two iron farm designs that I know of require a cauldron for a zombie to stand in so That it scares the villagers properly so we might need to save any iron that we can get towards a cauldron so that we can make an iron farm or just design a different type of iron farm I suppose but I’m not certain what form that would take at this point likewise the Stonecutter used by a stonemason needs at least one iron ingot and I’m not that worried about a stonemason right now because even though they have some fairly nice trades like stone for emeralds and things like that right now I’m mainly using the stone who build stuff and I don’t even have Enough materials to build myself a decent house right now which is definitely a goal for later on this week maybe once we have the iron farm set up I can build myself a proper house but I think yeah we are gonna stick with what we’ve got for now maybe make a barrel For a fisherman so that we can trade some of the fish that I’ve been getting and set up an afk fish farm in the meantime but I’ve cooked a lot of the fish to use as food so I think it’s probably worth waiting around and getting some emeralds from the other Villages in the meantime outside of that now I’m mostly waiting for the wandering trader to show up so that I can see or what trades he has to offer and potentially take advantage of some of them while I’ve got some emeralds in my pocket but now I think I’ll probably Wait for some of those villagers to grow up probably wait for the other Turtles to hatch as well and we’ll see what trades we can get out of the villages once they have their full professions well folks it has been a very productive day for a start I’ve gone ahead and Culled some of the cows in there getting myself a decent amount of leather and a raw beef that’s gonna cook up nicely for some steak and hopefully with a few more of these cows taking care of that should maybe open up a little bit of space for Some passive mob spawning down here not only that but we have a Fletcher who will trade me emeralds for arrows which might be worth while he’ll also turn gravel into flint for me less worthwhile but always good to have this shepherd it really is the MVP right now because for Two emeralds I can buy a pair of shears saving me the cost of two iron like I mentioned earlier and hopefully soon enough we’ll have some white wool to be able to trade with him we have two more baby villagers running around down here not only that but during the night I was Able to get hold of a couple more of these guys we have a zombie villager over here who I haven’t cured yet because I don’t have the materials for it but a quick trip to the gold farm should sort that out and now I have another villager here who is going to Become my weapon Smith and the reason for that is because the weapon Smith’s early traits are actually pretty expensive so what I thought I could do is turn this guy into a weapon Smith since we have cured him hopefully he will give us a reasonable discount there We go on those early swords because I made one of the villagers in here a weapon Smith and he wanted 20 emeralds for knock back one sword which I was not all that keen on but to be honest having 12 emeralds for a smite 2 sword is for a Start a little bit better and also it gives us access to not only iron tools but then iron nuggets as a result of that because if we buy tools from this guy we’ll be able to smelt them down for iron nuggets and can potentially produce iron ingots that way now is that going To be anywhere near affordable probably not but it is another Avenue towards getting ourselves some more iron and in the meantime I think I’m kind of happy buy myself an iron sword because my sword just broke over a zombies face earlier and I could really do with Something a little bit more durable so some of our first iron tools are at least like undamaged iron tools anyway are gonna come from this guy and hopefully we should be able to trade with him a little bit more I know that the coal trade is going to be difficult Because while we have charcoal he won’t accept that in trade he’s only going to accept coal which in this map is only going to be farmable through wither skeletons so you might need to get a nether mob spawning platform up and running fairly soon at least a more Efficient one than the one we have already but this is a major development in the sky block world having access to more of these trades is going to mean a huge diversity of things opens up to us and of course if we don’t like the traits that they have we can always Break and replace their workstations during the workday that guy just came became a cartographer so we can trade with him for paper and so forth but we can always put the fletching table back and see if one of these younger villages picks up the fletcher’s profession and hopefully starts trading us some sticks In a short while but folks I think that is where we’re going to leave this episode of Skyblock we’ve made a lot of progress today and I’m very happy with the amount of villagers that we now have hopefully I’ll be able to cure this zombie villager here as well and he’ll Be able to give us even more discounted trades on a variety of things but for now we’re gonna leave it there thank you so much for watching this episode of the
