Japanese Pagoda | Minecraft Tutorial

G’day folks it’s Cortez Reno and today we’re going to be building this Japanese pagoda and you can find a complete materials list in the video description so you’ll have everything you need to build this and I do think this Pagoda looks pretty cool it gets slightly

Narrower as we go up each level it’s very pleasing to the eye and I’ve chosen to go for a warped wood and prismarine color scheme but you could use any colors you like when you build this and because it’s such a large build I’ve kept the interior nice and simple we

Just have a winding staircase going all the way up and Floors on each level but let’s get straight into the tutorials so the first thing you’re going to want to do is Mark out the base of your build and this will be a square that is 19

Blocks long on all four sides and you can just build this out of stone and I’ve got this up above the ground but if you want to you can put your base in the ground it’s completely up to you or if you want to build this on sloping ground

You can do a combination of both starting off with it in the ground and then having it raise up like this and just be mindful when you’re planning where this is going to go extending out four blocks on every side we’re going to be having this roof sticking out so just

Keep that in mind when you’re placing it near other builds and once you’ve built your Square what we’re going to do is run around with some Stone and build another Square just on the inside of it so when you’re done you will be looking like that and then you can just mix in

Some random stone bricks andersite and tough blocks so when you’re done you’ll be looking at something like this so now I want you to come along to a corner we’re going to place a stone block then one two three strip Spruce two stone three Spruce two stone three Spruce and

A stone and we’re just going to do that on all sides so we’ve already got our Cornerstone we’ll just keep repeating that so three Spruce and then two Stone finishing with a stone in the corner and once you’ve done that come along to a corner and we’re gonna Place five sea

Lanterns like that I’m using sea lanterns but you can use Jacqueline’s or any light block that you like on top of that we’re going to place brown carpet and then we’re gonna go one two three stripped Oak and then another three we’ll put some Oak planks there and Oak

Planks in the middle and do that in each corner and staying with our stripped oak logs what we’re going to do is just make a square in the middle just running them between our Oak planks just like that and then on each side we’re also going to put a line of them

Just like this so we’ll do it here and on this side and also on the final side and then what we’re going to do is with our Oak planks we’re just going to fill in every other spot and now I want you to grab some stripped Spruce logs

And we’re going to build a big pillar right in the middle and this pillar will be 18 blocks tall and once you’ve done that I want you to decide which will be the front of your building this is going to be the front of mine so I’m just

Going to put a little staircase here just to remind me now the front of the building for the purposes of this tutorial is the side where there’s a door on the very top level so if we come up here right to the top you can see

There is only one door on this level so that door will be where the front is and that’s important for when we design our staircase you want it to come up you want it to finish in the in the right spot and in order for our staircase to

Finish in the right spot we need to start it in the right spot so here’s the front of the build I want you to come around to the back side here so you can see our staircase up the front and we’re going to put two Spruce slabs right

There and then we’ll put a temporary one two beside it and break that so that’s the beginning of our staircase so now we’re just going to repeat this pattern over and over we’re going to go one two three like that and then we’ll do our temporary one tube

Beside it and break that and that’s all we have to remember so one two three and then our two then repeat it one two three then our two and just keep repeating that pattern all the way up so just build that all the way up and your

Final two slabs should be level with the very top of that log and they should be poking out toward the front of your building so now we’re going to grab stripped Spruce again and we’re going to add 15 more so one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve

Thirteen fourteen fifteen once you’ve done that we’re going to add a 16th block and this is the stripped Spruce with bark on all six sides and we’ll continue our staircase but the difference here is now we’re going to start right here we are just doing single slabs like this so that should be

Pretty easy keep going all the way around until we reach the top and once again you’ll finish at the height of this top log and what we’re going to do then is just add an extra two slabs just like that and they should be poking out

Toward the front of your build and once you’ve done that you can climb back down come along to one of your corners and just here next to the carpet we’re going to build four stripped Spruce with a sea lantern and a stone block on top and then just diagonally from the corner of

These carpets so right here we’re going to build another four Spruce on each side they will have sea Lancers on top but this time we’re going to put another strip Spruce on top of those so build that in each corner and what I’m about

To build on this side is the same on all four sides so you can build all four of them at the same time so in this Gap here we’re going to place nine Mangrove roots and we’ll do the same thing just over here nine Roots then grab your

Stripped Spruce and we’re going to run this all the way along the top just like that and on top of the spruce we’re going to add a double layer of snow blocks so go ahead build that on all four sides and once again what I build

Here I want you to copy to every other side so we’ll start with two Spruce fences with lanterns on top and then we’re going to grab stripped dark oak logs this time we’ll put three there and three here and we’re just going to cover up the fronts of those with Spruce

Trap doors then grab a spruce stairs we’ll put three upside down and you can come to the inside and place three Spruce doors so go ahead build that on every side and once you’ve done that you can come to the inside and just next to our staircase here we’re going to place

A fence with a lantern on top and then I want you to come up above your wall and in each Corner we’re going to place three stripped warp wood just on top of that stone block and now what we’re going to do is build a little pattern you can see it over

Here we’re going to build this box and what we’re going to do is just keep repeating this same box all the way up but it’s going to get a couple of blocks narrower every time so what we’ll do is get these materials in your hot bar so Spruce blanks

Stripped Spruce logs prism bricks Spruce slabs sea lanterns Stone and warped stems and we’re going to build this thing four times in total so we’re going to begin at the bottom warped stem here and we’re just going to put a spruce plank out on the diagonal and then we’re

Just going to run this over and finish putting another Spruce plank on the diagonal I’m just going to wrap this around the building and once you’ve done that on top of the planks we’re going to put two prismarine bricks with two Spruce Planks on top and you can do that

In each corner and looking at these planks that are on top of the prismarine we’re just going to build another square of our strip Spruce so this square is going directly above the one that we did down below there so just run this all the way around and then once you’ve done

That come along to a corner and with spruce slabs we’re going to go one two three right there on this one in the corner we’ll put two stripped Spruce with the sea lantern then a stone block and then one two three warped stems so go ahead do that in each corner and that

Is a completed section so we’ve built it once we need to build it three more times and just like before when we started we put a spruce blank diagonally out from the Warped wood the next level is going to start the same way so against the bottom walked wood just

Diagonally out that’s where we put our Spruce plank so I’ll build this again the entire section without me talking so if you need to rewind this video to remind yourself how to build it you can go ahead and do that foreign So when you’re done you should be looking like this with that same pattern repeated four times and you can just double check that you’ve finished at the right height so where we’ve got these slabs at the top of our staircase that should be at the same height as this log

Right here and now we’re going to put in some floors so we can actually walk around after getting off our staircase and they’re all going to be at the same sort of height so if you look at where your prismarine bricks are this log just above the prismarine bricks that is the

Level of our floor so come into here in each Corner what I want you to do is skip two blocks and then we’re going to place four strip Spruce same thing here from the corner skip two then four strip Spruce we’ll put a c Lantern there brown carpet on top and Oak trapdoor

Underneath and once you’ve built that in every corner what we’re going to do is connect our sea lanterns with stripped Spruce logs so we’re just building a square around our staircase and now in each section here we’re just going to fill these in with Spruce slabs to

Finish up our floor so do this everywhere except for where our staircase is and that’s what the floor looks like when you’re done so we’re going to do that three more times so look over to where your bricks are at this height here that’s where the next

Floor is going to go the only difference is down here we left a one two block gap before we did our log on the next floor we’re only going to leave a one block Gap the floor above that is exactly the same a one block Gap and then the final floor

There is no Gap at all so there’s the floor we’ve already done the next floor will look like this so you can just pause the video if you want to the floor above that looks like this and then the final finished floor will look like that

Okay I want you to come along to this first floor that we built and we’re going to put some walls in between our pillars so what we’re going to do is Skip three blocks and then we’ll do two Spruce with a sea lantern and another Spruce on top then we’ll skip three

Blocks again and do the exact same thing and then we’ll run a Cross Beam between our sea lanterns and then you can come to the inside right in the middle we are going to place a spruce door and then come back to the outside and

What we’re going to do is just plug up every Gap with snow blocks so we’ll put a line of them across the top we’ll put six in these sections and then we’ll just put two either side of the door so go ahead do the exact same thing on each

Side and that’s how it should look when you’re done and to save time on this tutorial I’m just going to show you the completed walls on the next couple of floors we’re building them the same way it’s just the pillars are in different spots you can see there either side of

The door so that’s the next floor up so you can pause the video copy that the next floor looks like this we’ve got two doors this time and then the final floor right up the top just looks like this and this floor only has a door on one

Side so the other walls there are no doors on that so you’ll know by coming up our staircase the top of the stairs that’s where your door goes so yeah just uh just go ahead pause the video and you can copy those in and once you’ve done

That I want you to come along to your staircase and we’re just going to add a few more slabs so starting on the bottom floor run up your staircase to the first floor up here and what we’re going to do you can see this little Gap here we’re just

Going to add an extra slab so we don’t fall down there same thing over here we’re going to add an extra slab so on this floor we’re going to add those two slabs and we will continue up to the next floor you can see we’ve got the same

Thing here we’re going to add a slab there so we don’t fall down that Gap and then over here we’re going to add a line of five slabs just like that and I understand that the way I’m doing this tutorial just showing you each level makes it a little harder to follow but

Because the build is so big if I built the entire thing in front of you this tutorial would go for two hours and we don’t have time for that so now I want you to get the items that I have in my inventory here just go ahead put them in

Your hot bar so you’d have to be running back for more items come along to the bottom warped wood here and we’re going to put a spruce plank out on the diagonal and we’re gonna do what we did earlier just making a little square all the way around the building just putting

Our planks in the corners and once you’ve done that you can grab your prismarine bricks in each Corner we’re going to put two of them just on top of our planks and then staying with our bricks we’ll put an extra one on top of each of these and then we’re going to

Start coming in the diagonal so we’re gonna have to put some temporary blocks here and like that so we’re coming up on the diagonal we’ll do that in each corner and then we’ll do that one more time so same thing again just using your temporary blocks to come up on the

Diagonal and then in here we’re going to put our black stone our chisel Blackstone right in the middle we’ll put two prismarine bricks on top of that and we’re going to surround the top one with warped trap doors we’ll put our cauldron on top of that and then five Hoppers one

Two three four five we’ll put our deep slate wall there with our iron bars on top okay now we’re going to make some banners so I want you to grab a loom and we’re going to put a red banner inside of that and some yellow dye and I want

You to select this one with the lines on it then we’ll put that back in we’ll switch to a red die and we’re going to select the bricks this time you put that back in we’ll switch our die to Yellow again and we’re going to grab this indented border

And once again switch back to the red and we’ll just do a regular border around that and then finally back to Yellow we’ll put a flower charge in there and that’s our banner and I want you to make four of these and then you can look up at your chiseled Blackstone

We’ll put a spruce fence and we’re going to hang three chains from that we’ll put a shroom light on the end and then each side of the shroom light we are going to hang one of our banners okay so I want you to look at these two prismarine

Bricks on top of each other what we’re going to do is against the bottom one we’ll put a spruce plank out on the diagonal with a spruce slab diagonally out from that and we’ll do that in each corner and then you can come down to the

Next level down here look up at that plank you can put a spruce fence there with a chain and a lantern and you can hang up one of these from each corner and then we’re going to do that four more times so you can see we’ve got our

Two prismarine bricks there and another two another two and another two all the way down the bottom we’re just going to repeat exactly what we’ve just done so against the bottom prismarine brick we’ll put our Plank with our slab and then come underneath and we’ll hang our Lantern

So do that on each corner and do that on each level and that’s how you should be looking when you’re done so what we’re going to do now is grab stripped warp stems and against these planks that our lanterns are connected to we’re just going to run the stems all the way along

Till we connect and turn the corner and wrap these all the way around and we’re not stopping at the first floor we’re going to do this on every single level where we’ve got our lanterns hanging down so just against those planks that the lanterns are connected to just run

Your stripped warp wood all the way around okay now we’re going to add some orange to glaze terracotta so come along to this top level skip the first two warped wood then knock out that and from this side skip the first two and knock out that then

We’re going to look from this direction and we’ll Place one in like that then put your back to the building and we’ll place the other one like that so that’s your pattern do that on all four sides then for the next level what we’re going

To do is skip the first two then we’ll knock out one two three four and you should have two blocks right there same thing we’re going to look from this direction we’ll Place one in the first one then skip it Place Another there and then the other two we’re going to put

Our back to the building and place them like that so that’s the pattern for this level and of course do that on every side we’ll come down to the next level what we’re gonna do skip the first two then we’ll knock out those two and from this side skip two then look at

Knock out those two once again look in this direction place the first one in then skip one place another we’ll draw back to the wall and place these in and then this level here we’re going to skip two then we’ll go one two three same from this side

Skip two one two three and once again looking from this side we’ll Place one in just like that then that’s every second one so we’ll put those two in and for these once again put your back to the wall and place these in and finally the

Bottom level it’s much the same as the level above we’re going to skip two and go one two three and from this side skip two one two three and same pattern again we’re gonna start in the first one and then it’s just every second block we’re

Gonna Place those in and the others put you back to the wall and place your terracotta and that’s how it should look when you’re done so now I want you to come down to the bottom level here and what I build here I want you to copy to

All four sides so starting against our sea lanterns we are going to cover these up with Spruce trap doors and then with Spruce buttons we’ll Place one there then two over here another two and then one then above our trap doors we’re gonna Place three Spruce stairs upside

Down so same thing here one two three another three Above This trapdoor and another three above that one now grab some warped stairs in this scap here we’re going to look at the spruce stair and place in two stairs like that same thing for this section

Two walked stairs and the same over here just looking sideways at them now right in the middle we’ll place a warped Plank with a warped trapdoor against the front and then looking from the side two warped trap doors in those gaps now grab e c Lantern we’re going to knock

Out that block place it in there same thing over here knock out that one lacing your sea lantern that’ll have a warped trapdoor in front and then looking sideways a warped trap door below same thing on that side and then you can grab some warped slabs and right up here

Starting where this slab is in the corner we’re just going to run these all the way along the top until we get to there so that’s the pattern I want you to build that on all four sides okay so once you’ve done that all the way around we’re going to build something very

Similar on every single level above there’s just going to be tiny differences so once again to save time in the tutorial I’m just going to show you what the next level looks like so this one’s the same except we don’t have these two trapdoors right here because

The the walls slightly smaller so the next level above will look like this so using the exact same materials we used before go ahead and build this just remembering to put in those slabs at the top so the level above that will look like this so pause the video copy that in the

Next level looks like this and then finally the top level will look like that so once you’ve done that what we’re going to do is build a little pattern in each corner so it’s the exact same on each level so there’ll be five in this corner and five of them in that

Corner and so on so what I want you to do is get these items in your hot bar so stone prismarine bricks Blackstone polished Blackstone bricks dark prismarine slabs polished Blackstone polish Blackstone celebs Blackstone slabs and Polished Blackstone brick slabs that’s all we’ll need to do every

Single corner and I’ll try and do this quickly because you’ll be rewinding this a few times I think so in the corner just above our Lantern next to the prismarine brick we’ll do three stone and then one two three four five prismarine bricks then with Blackstone

We’ll go to there and a third on this side two there and a third then the Blackstone bricks one in the middle one against the stone same thing one the middle one against the stone and then the polished Blackstone slab right there in the corner then dark prismarine slabs

Will go four on this side and four on this side and then a polished Blackstone on top of the spruce slab behind it a pushed slab and then one two three more polished slabs then grab Blackstone slabs we’ll Place one on each side like that then the brick slabs one

On each side there and come around here we’ll go one on top of the stone and then one against the top of the prismarine and another right there same thing on this side one on top of the stone against the top of the prismarine and another one right there so that is

Your corner do a whole bunch more of those so when you’re done you will have built 20 of those Corners so now you can look at my Hotbar you’re going to need prismarine brick slabs prismarine brick stairs and dark prismarine slabs and we’re just going to join up all of these

Corners so we’re going to start on the bottom level so come along to this slab right here just underneath that we’re going to place the prismarine slab and we’re going to put five in total so we’ve got one we’ll go two three four five and then looking from this side so

Put your back to your building we’re going to put upside down prismarine stairs seven of these so it’s two three four five six seven and then back to your slabs we’ll put five on the end one two three four five and you should connect under that slab then you can

Switch to your dark prismarine slabs just against the top of these stairs we’re going to put seven along there and then starting right here we’re just going to run these along until we connect same thing here run these along until we connect so you can see these

Slabs are just coming down on a bit of an angle like that and that’s how you do the bottom floor so do that on all four sides and then we can come up to the next floor starting in the same spot just under that slab we’re gonna go one two three four five

Slabs then put you back to the building and this time we’re only gonna do five upside down stairs and then five more slabs then grab your dark prismarine slabs we’ll put five along the middle right there and then starting here we’re going to run these along do a Connect same thing here

Starting there run those along do that on each side and the next floor up we’re going to start in the same spot this time one two three four slabs and then we will do five upside down stairs and another four slabs and you guessed it we’re going to put five dark

Prismarine there and then run these Along on each side then the next floor up we’re gonna go one two three four slabs this time we’re just going to put three upside down stairs and then another four slabs and then you can put in your three dark prismarine there and

Then four on each side and then the top floor is really simple it’s just three slabs then three upside down stairs and another three slabs and then your dark prismarine three there three and three so make sure to wrap those all the way around the building Okay so we’ve got

The frames for five roofs all done and we’re gonna start filling these in with Blackstone so put these items in your hot bar you’ll need Blackstone polished Blackstone bricks Blackstone slabs and Polished Blackstone brick slabs and and each little section here that we’re filling in is exactly the same so I’ll

Show you one and you can copy it to the others and we might as well start right up the top so we’re always going to begin above our glazed terracotta so starting here on the end we’re going to put a black stone and we’ll Place one every second block and they will have

The Blackstone bricks in between now in line with the black stone we’re going to use Blackstone slab so it’s one two three slabs just coming down the diagonal and that’s the same in front of each Blackstone and then in front of the bricks we’re going to use the polished Blackstone

Brick slabs and we’re just doing the same thing so one two three and that is a roof section so it’s exactly the same on the next level starting on top of the glaze terracotta you do your Blackstone every second block with the bricks in between and then you switch to the slabs

You get the idea go and fill in all five roofs so this is how you should be looking when you’re done with all your roofs filled in except for the top one so we’re going to concentrate on the top here and what I build in this corner I

Want you to copy to the other Corners so just here I want you to place a Blackstone slab and over here another Blackstone slab and then just behind this this corner we’re going to place a polished Blackstone block with a black stone each side of it and then on the

Ends of those we’re going to place a black stone brick okay come along to your prismarine bricks here and on top of each of those we’re going to place one two three polished Blackstone stairs and we’ll do that on each side it doesn’t matter which way they’re facing

As long as you are looking toward the center of your building when you place them so we’ll do that on each side and then each of these gaps will be exactly the same so we’ll start with the polished Blackstone brick stairs we’ll Place one there and one right there then

Go to the Blackstone stairs we’re gonna go one two three and one two three and then right up the middle back to the Blackstone stairs we’re gonna place four right up the center so you can see these lines of Blackstone and Blackstone bricks just continue all the way up so

I’ll do that one more time for you over here so we’ll start with a brick stair on each side three Blackstone stairs on each side and then four brick stairs right up the middle so do that all the way around and that’s the top of our roof done so I

Want you to come down to this level here and we’re just gonna put a fence around our balcony so starting on top of the spruce planks in the corner we’ll do a fence and just put a fence every second block and connect those with Spruce fin

Skates and that’ll be the same all the way around and it’ll also be the same on each level so down here same thing every second block same thing down here and then for this level same thing there so go ahead fill all of those in and once you’ve done

That we’re going to add some lanterns as well so the top floor will have lanterns like that and you can do that on every single side so you can see where I’ve placed them for the next floor down that’s where your lanterns go the next floor will look like that and

Then finally the lanterns right there on the bottom floor and that is the exterior of our Pagoda 100 done the only thing left to do is to clean up the interior and this is optional you don’t have to do it if you don’t want to but

What I like to do is cover up the sea lanterns on the side here with Oak trap doors and this will be exactly the same on each level above so you can cover those up and then if you want to you might like the way this looks but what

You can do is in front of the sea lanterns put a spruce stair with a spruce trapdoor on top and then a line of spruce slabs all the way along and you can just go ahead and do that on each side and like I said that’s the

Same on each level so if we were to come up here you can see I’ve got our trapdoors covering up those sea lantern means and I’ve done it up here with the stairs and slabs and the top level is the same we don’t have any seal
