The tiny button it may be small but it is very useful for both redstone and decorative purposes welcome to another easy minecraft tutorial today i’m going to show you how to craft and use a button in minecraft there are basically two types but 10 varieties of buttons So we have wooden ones which you can use any of the planks so if you have oak you get an oak button same if you get spruce you got a spruce button as you can see it’s very simple to craft even the nether varieties crimson you get a crimson button Now if you want to stone one you can use stone that gives you a stone button and polished black stone gives you a polished black stone button buttons can be found naturally in strong holds only in java edition but also in desert armor hoses and jungle buttons will generate on a House in walls in desert villages for the purpose of demonstration we’re only going to be using the oak and stone buttons so first of all placement they can be placed on any surface of a block as long as it is a full block it can be placed on the bottom of stairs On the bottom of full block on the top of an upper slab and the bottom of a lower slab not there and not there and of course not on top of stairs in java edition you cannot place buttons on fences or walls but you can in bedrock edition Unlike levers which can be switched on and off buttons are only pressed on and they turn off after a certain amount of time but first of all let’s take a look at what happens so you would use the use button see it’s turned on now it’s off so you Can use it on pretty much anything just like levers so you can turn on any way you want and it’ll turn off automatically now watch what happens if i turn this one on it also turns this piston on so this but if we put it on the side here It pops off you can use the button to of course open doors i’ve got an iron door here which can only be opened using redstone so as you can see it opens there there there and there same with trapdoors i can do that that or that The power level of a button is a full 15. so it goes all the way over there the difference between wooden and stone buttons is the amount of time that they’re active for so stone button is the shorter one it is operating for 10 redstone ticks or about one second As you can see it’s fairly quick as for the wooden one it’s 15 redstone ticks or one and a half seconds a bit longer you can activate buttons with a bow as you can see that one’s operating but not with stone buttons that does not work oh and that’ll stay on until This is collected there we go you can also use tridents to operate a button and it’ll turn off once you’ve collected the trident the buttons can also be used for decoration so here i’ve got some buttons on this portal and some buttons up there and they look great as pebbles along paths You can also place them on higher locations if you don’t want any mobs spawning on them at least it’s a bit out of sight something that buttons can’t do is be placed under flowing water or water that isn’t flowing where do you usually use buttons let me Know in the comments below for more videos on redstone check out the playlist on the right please leave a like as that helps my video reach more people we’ll see you next time bye bye Video Information

And do you know the difference between stone buttons and wood buttons? In this video, I show you how to craft a button and how to use a button in Minecraft. There are some differences between Java and Bedrock editions, which I cover. This will work in Minecraft 1.18 for both Java and Bedrock editions. I hope you enjoyed this Minecraft button tutorial!
