Minecraft version 1.17 has a brand new ore and that is copper and i’m going to tell you all about it hello and welcome my name is jd and this is another easy minecraft tutorial so today i’m going to show you how to find copper ore as well as craft and use various Aspects of copper there’s a lot to go through so we’re going to start off by locating some copper so copper is pretty easy to find it’s usually just underground sometimes you can find it a bit above ground so here is some copper right here anymore just the one okay so let’s get up Just like any other ore you can use a furnace or blast furnace to smelt the copper and this one will come out pretty quickly that’s the only one we have but you get a copper ingot the copper ingot can be used to craft three different kinds of things so first Of all we have the lightning rod now the lightning rod is well during a lightning storm you can use this to attract lightning so it’ll hit this and yeah you can definitely protect things with that but i do go into this a lot more detail in the video on the top right hand Corner so please check out that the other one is the spyglass now this is very useful for bedrock players because well java has optifine which allows you to zoom in right so you can see things that are far away but it is definitely useful for bedrock Edition and i also have a video about this in the top right hand corner i should mention that drowned can now drop copper ingots but the chances are probably not final yet but uh they do drop them instead of iron ingots now but um i’m not sure how often yet all i’m Getting is that stuff no but they do drop it now make sure you have looting on your sword as you’ll have a much better chance of getting copper ingots now the last thing that you can craft with copper ingots is copper blocks now copper blocks are definitely useful uh We’ve got a zombie around here yeah interruptions so copper blocks are the building block and what happens with these is over time you’ll see a change in the color so they become more of a weathered kind of copper so it oxidizes we’re going to increase the random tick speed of the game And let’s see what happens well we’ve got uh cactus grow suddenly this may take a little bit of time and hopefully we’ll see one of these change very soon we’re going to try a bit faster it’s supposed to oxidize every 20 minutes in game so we’ll see what this does There we go that’s much better okay so that is the second or the earliest one that’s the second stage and the latest will be all green and should be seeing it right away if it’ll come it’s almost there there we go as of this moment there are Four types of copper so we’ve got first of all this is the regular block of copper this is exposed copper this is weathered copper and this is oxidized copper now they’re all at different stages of oxidation but they will continue to oxidize except for this one this one’s done It’s not going to change but there is a way to stop them from oxidizing all you need is a honeycomb so you can right click and there we go that’s the effect right click on this right click on this but nothing happens to this one because it’s already fully oxidized so now we Have waxed versions and those are locked in at their oxidation states we can also remove the wax as well as oxidation with an axe you right-click there we go we’ve removed the wax but as i said we can remove oxidation as well each click removes one layer of oxidation I have a channeling trident here on the right we have waxed copper on the right we have on the left we have regular copper so if we use this as you can see the waxed copper does not change that’s the second one uh if we go for this one there we go Lightning will remove oxidation as long as it’s not waxed a copper can be used as a building block so we’re just going to quickly take a look at this here so we have all the varieties of copper here so we have block of copper exposed copper weathered copper and oxidized Copper as i mentioned now these can all be used to make a few different kinds we’ve got the cut copper variety we’ve got cut copper stairs variety and cut copper slab variety we also have all of these in waxed form now how to do it well it’s quite Straightforward you can use a stone cutter stone cutter is very nice and convenient for that so we got cut copper here we have cut copper slab and cut copper stairs now keep in mind we can do it for any of these so as you can see You can also use a crafting table just take that and you’ve got four cut copper same with these you can all make cut copper with each of these you can also use a crafting table for stairs you need to use cut copper not regular cup uh not regular blocks of copper There we go and if you want to make slabs very simple just straight across and there we are you can do the same for the cut varieties of exposed weathered and oxidized copper as well keep in mind that the regular and waxed varieties have no difference in texture so you see No difference at all so same with here waxed exposed copper and exposed copper they look identical and finally weathered waxed weathered copper i find that one to be a bit of a tongue twister and regular weathered copper like i said no difference so these are great as a building block Now this is the regular cut copper here we’ve got all the varieties of exposed cut copper and weathered cut copper right there and oxidized cut copper none of these are waxed but they could be except for that one there is one thing that i find interesting is uh when you use the Lightning rod and you can strip the oxidation off of these the wax protects it however there is no waxed variety of the the fully weathered one or the fully oxidized one i’m wondering if that was an omission or if that’s on purpose but as we are still in the snapshots Right now there’s a possibility we may see a waxed oxidized copper although it is much easier to use honeycomb on a block like this well not with that one but like this you can still use the crafting table all you need to do is just combine one of these with one of these And look at that you get a waxed block of copper and finally you can do this to a block of copper you can make it into four copper ingots so that’s just the opposite of using four copper ingots to make a block of copper and before you ask yes You can put the wax on any of the blocks doesn’t matter what except for oxidized and that is copper that is everything we know about copper so far again this is being done during the snapshots and there could be some changes before 1.17 comes out but I’d say that this is pretty close to what we are going to get in the full release so if you have any questions at all please leave them in the comment section below and uh if you like the video and please give it a thumbs up And if you want to see some more easy minecraft tutorials then please consider subscribing we’ll see you next time bye you Video
