Minecraft Preview 1.20.60.22 – What’s New?! – Mailbox with Notifications! Changes and Fixes
Yesterday, Minecraft released a small preview/beta version 1.20.60.22, which mainly focuses on bug fixes. However, it also introduced a new feature – the mailbox. This update also includes some changes to textures and other improvements. Let’s dive into the details!
Texture Changes
The 1.21 update brought some changes to the textures of copper doors. Specifically, a few pixels have been shifted downwards. While this may seem like a minor change, it is noticeable. Additionally, copper doors and traps now have the correct destruction time. Moreover, they now have the appropriate blast resistance.
Breeze
One notable change is the separation of diffuse (regular) textures and emissive (glowing) textures of Breeze. This separation allows for more customization and visual effects in the game.
Mailbox
The new mailbox feature can be accessed by clicking the bell icon in the main menu. It provides information about game updates, invitations to play together, and available realms. Players can also customize notification categories and mark all messages as read. This addition enhances the communication and social aspects of the game.
Player Drawer
The player drawer in the new game menu now produces pleasant opening and closing sounds, adding a touch of immersion to the user experience.
Emojis and Cloned Blocks
All owned and unowned emojis are now displayed in the dressing room. Additionally, cloned storage blocks no longer immediately display their interface upon placement, preventing game crashes.
Bug Fixes
This update also addresses several game crashes and issues, such as a bug related to the “paper doll” still displaying an item that the player is no longer holding. It also resolves a rare game crash that occurred when achieving the “Seven Seas” achievement.
Conclusion
While this version may be relatively small, it brings significant improvements and fixes to the game. Players are encouraged to share their feedback on this preview. Overall, Minecraft continues to evolve and refine the gaming experience for its dedicated community.
