Video tour of Dudeist Priests’, Age of Empire: Castle Siege, recreated in Minecraft.
This was done in Minecraft for the Xbox 360, in peaceful mode, using the, City texture pack. I scaled the game grid up using a 3 – 1 ratio, meaning 1 grid in the AoE game = 3 blocks in Minecraft. And no, I do not have a walking path around the inside walls my AoE castle, I added the interior path so you could walk from section to section.
Some things turned out great, the army camp, quarry, silo and the cathedral (this is where I do my Dudeist Priest duties, like meditate on my rug, listen to whale sounds in the tub, practice bowling and drink white Russians) , for example. Other things, not so great, for the mills I could not even attempt a wheel in such a small area, the farms have out of proportion wind mills, and anything round (the back of Oxford, the two side portions of the keep), for example.
If you are wondering where I got all the resources in peaceful mode, all the wool for example, I have been playing this map for almost three years. I have a sheep farm and have pre dyed the sheep so they always produce the colour I originally dyed them; I am constantly sheering them to stock up on wool. I also have a massive tree farm, trees of a specific type grown in rows; I cut them all down, and immediately replace with saplings. The whole area where I build this was hilly, so when flattening it, I got a ton of cobblestone and coal, I had two furnaces running constantly to “bake” the all of stone I needed.
Enjoy…
