Minecraft dungeons is one of the year’s most anticipated games but with so much to get excited over it can be a bit of a challenge to keep it all straight hello friends my name is kodiak and today we’ll break down everything you need to know about Minecraft dungeons Minecraft dungeons is a top-down action RPG that takes a lot of its inspiration from arcade style games not the a RPGs of the modern era the game can be played solo or online with friends but it’s designed as a couch co-op with up to four friends sitting back on the couch Fighting your way through dungeons the game is built using the Unreal 4 engine but doesn’t lose any of that minecraft charm that was critically important to the team especially since dungeons do not require any building whatsoever dungeons focus more on looting character progression and combat throughout players adventures they’ll pick up a Number of interesting items called artifacts which can be used to varying effects some will summon companions that will fight by your side while others will simply protect you from taking damage players will also be able to equip three core items a ranged weapon a set of armor and a melee weapon players Will be able to use both melee and ranged weapons at the same time which is a complete 180 compared to other games in the genre items range from common to unique and those unique items can come with some powerful effects such as providing your allies with a 20% weapon Damage boost or healing nearby allies when you use a health potion weapon types that we know of at this point are swords bows crossbows hammers shields and pickaxes since we’re talking about weapons let’s talk about enchantments each item in the game can be enchanted players will pick from a list which Effect they want to imbue on their weapon or armor and once you make the decision you’re locked in but as you level up you’ll be able to upgrade that enchantment more making the effect even more potent depending on the item you’ll get to apply multiple enchantments which Is a complete game changer when it comes to character builds Mojang has confirmed that there will be around 40 enchantments in the game at launch 20 for melee and 20 for ranged but the game is clearly built around items like I mentioned earlier dungeons is designed as more of an arcade experience with Flashy items at the center of the core gameplay loop however there are some foundational things that we should talk about minecraft dungeons does have a story alone illa jerk assed out of his village runs across a powerful orb of dominance and goes on an evil rampage across the Minecraft world players are Working to stop the Elder which is the underlying goal of the entire adventure once the story is over we do of some endgame content but what that actually entails is still largely a mystery once you’ve completed the main story you’ll unlock different difficulties which will reward you with Higher tiers of loot it’s important to remember that dungeons are procedurally generated which means their layout is always different there will be a central hub to coordinate all endgame content which will allow you to choose which missions to pursue while on a mission they expect to run across a number of Familiar enemies such as spiders skeletons Ami’s and of course creepers other iconic enemies will appear but in a more boss champion type role didn’t think you were getting away from Enderman that easily did you additionally new enemies will be introduced exclusively to dungeon such as summoners one can imagine they’ll Eventually work their way into Minecraft or vice versa since they share the same world the team even hinted that the ender dragon could make an appearance at some point it’s amazing that in 2020 games like minecraft dungeons can fly under the radar but there is still a lot We don’t know about the game what we do know is that minecraft dungeons will clock in around $20 at the most base level if you decide to pay $30 you’ll get the base game plus two additional DLCs which the team is considering many seasons on top of that we can confirm That loot boxes and microtransactions aren’t part of the dungeons gameplay experience there was a chance of additional paid and free DLC down the line but that all depends on the success of the game finally minecraft dungeons is coming to all major platforms Xbox one Playstation 4 Nintendo switch and The PC we’re incredibly excited about this game and from the little we’ve seen of dungeons it’s looking to be an incredibly polished replayable experience that anyone can pick up and enjoy if you’re excited about the game and want to connect with other players just like you join legion gaming on Discord our community of over 2,500 gamers is
