Let’s Play Minecraft Like It’s 2010 Again (Episode 1)

Hey guys what is up the neocubist here welcome to my 1.20 let’s play we’re here on 1.20 yes we have a few mods just so I can do replay and stuff like that but if you don’t know what that is it’s pretty why did they change this menu why would

Oh they removed the custom I guess they did that a while ago game rules ah okay so you can adjust those in there well we’re just gonna leave it however the developers intended 1.20 now I haven’t personally played 1.20 yet I do have all the mods installed that we need

Like you know being able to adjust certain game sounds but nothing that affects the actual core gameplay um everything I have is purely visual or audio um yeah it’s been a while since we’ve done a vanilla let’s play well hello Mr sheep why are you so loud

And oh I think I have my FPS locked to tent should I make my entire let’s play like this is that what you what you guys want to see so like for example I have something where I can I can set my FPS maximum we’re gonna do double our screen refresh

Rates at 240. I have noticed that 1.20 is a lot more optimized like we’re getting well we are recording in in 2K resolution but we’re getting about 60 FPS which is perfectly fine seeing as how we’re on a 32 chunk render distance man um which is pretty impressive

I guess there’s baby animals off the bat I’m not super happy with this spawn but we’re just gonna go wherever our heart takes us I I feel like for a long time whenever I was going to record a let’s play I had this oh and I do have a zoom

Mod because I I don’t have OptiFine I have a sodium I believe it’s called Never Had sodium a jungle off in the distance I’m not particularly happy with this world I I think it looks like garbage let’s make another one I honestly dude we’re we’re just gonna

Roll with it I mean that’s the thing right no pressure man if if I don’t like a world okay then what if I like the world and I won’t make you watch their generation screen again I will make you watch me type it though oh this this seems like an interesting

Spawn off the bat not we’re not in a field no we spawn in a hole with one tree oh this is perfect well if you guys want to follow along with me I’ll do slash seed um and for those of you who are visually impaired I will read it out it is three

I’m getting ahead of myself I created a planet in Hardcore Minecraft I was like oh that’s kind of cool you know you you made a sphere and you put some stuff that’s cool does it have a purpose no but it looks really really cool and then you know a couple months go by

And I see you know trending I made the entire uh solar system in Hardcore Minecraft and I’m like you you made the whole solar system you know what that’s impressive that’s really cool and then I saw someone I don’t know if it was I made the entire

Universe or the entire galaxy either way what what are you what we’re we’re one-upping each other okay which is fine I mean like I get it you know if if you want to get all the massive views and stuff you gotta one-up one another but you’re gonna get to a point

Where what do you create after the Galaxy or the universe like you know what I mean I mean there’s not anything else so why am I mining with this get out of here dude I know I don’t know man I was just I was just

Kind of not in shock I was just I think it was more of a moment of I was sighing because I couldn’t believe it and maybe I’ve I’m only 24 years old I’ve talked to people who think that I’m like really old and I’m like no I’m not I’m not very

Old okay I’ve been on YouTube since the days that Fred were Fred was really popular I don’t know if anyone’s anyone’s A og YouTube viewer I’m not trying to claim to be special I’m just saying I don’t know if anyone remembers that YouTuber he was a man who made

These just crazy videos he used a pitch shift on his voice to make it super high pitch it was just it was it was funny back in the day you know Harry Potter Puppet Pals all all that good stuff and I feel like there became a point where

Every YouTuber it seems like nowadays is like a professional editor you’re gonna notice something if you start to watch me I don’t I don’t really edit I I will put Clips together and that’s about the end of my editing I’m noticing a few FPS drops and

I don’t I don’t like it and I’m sure the viewers don’t like it so we’ll put it on 24. and then we probably want the same I don’t know if they can render Shadows past where the chunks are who knows now some people are going to watch this

And they’re gonna get bored that’s fine this probably isn’t gonna be oh this is nice I kind of like it okay oh the new cave generation still gets me sometimes man it’s it still gets me sometimes but yeah back to my point it seems like everyone’s a professional

Video editor now I can’t keep up I can’t do it man I made a hundred days video and uh that was that and uh and then I made a 200 days video and that was the end I can’t do them I mean I can technically but if I want to keep doing

YouTube I can’t do it though I do I do like this cave but you know we’re not in Hardcore Minecraft so if we die we die whatever but I do want to get some more coal because that’s something I never get enough of I never get enough coal

But the roundabout point that I’m trying to come to is that I’m gonna make a series kind of like I made that I’m not I’m not gonna I’m not gonna set expectations okay I’m not going to tell you it’s going to be X number of episodes I’m not going to make any

Promises because I don’t want to I don’t want to say anything I can’t keep now one thing that’s very important to me does sodium have Dynamic lights really everyone was like you should get sodium it’s so much better than OptiFine it doesn’t have connected textures it also

Doesn’t have Dynamic lights so now I’ve got a good fabric mod for that so give me a second well I tried a bunch of stuff I can’t really get it to work so we’re gonna have to put torches down by hand is that a big deal no but minor

Inconvenience I’m sure it’ll get updated eventually you know to give you my thoughts on 1.20 when it came out I was just kind of meh I I don’t want to talk bad on the development team I I really don’t want to you know I understand you know people

Are always like well Microsoft’s the biggest technology company in the world yeah but Mojang and Mojang is a subsidiary of Microsoft now so Microsoft owns Mojang but they don’t have total control of them I mean at the end of the day I guess they have total control but

They let them operate almost as a separate entity of course with the funding for Microsoft could they hire more developers yes but would they mesh well with the current team I’m not sure um so we need updates like this obviously they worked on optimization a

Lot I’m sure there’s a lot of you know under the hood optimizations being made and I hear a spider I don’t know where Mr spider is but I’m gonna dig and oh hey maybe it’s some of that spider iron okay where is the spider because I I’m curious

Is this a dungeon because I do hear it’s probably not a dungeon nope just looks like a bunch of baddies hanging out and just hanging out in a cave having a good time look at me using an ax for so long there man I did not use axes like I really didn’t

Little bit I don’t want to settle right near spawn I want to actually find somewhere that I look at and I I you know I walk out of the front door of my house and I’m like wow this looks incredible so we’re gonna find that area

Over here looks cool I just want to peek around at it but I don’t want to live there I am unfortunately no actually you know what sheep you can live today because I’m smart and I’m going to make some shears yes this is going to be this is going to

Be incredible usually I always just have to I just have to kill a few sheep off the bat I guess we have more coal incense so we’ll just use some coal here and while we’re waiting can we get a tree yeah we go get a tree nearby

But yeah I I want to find a cherry blossom Forest although and my understanding is that you know there’s I don’t know how many biomes in Minecraft I don’t think we’re just gonna find one off the bat but we can look and I’d love to live in one you know and

Experience the new wood type for myself but I don’t know where I don’t know where I would find one I mean obviously it would be somewhere in the world but and I’ll travel as much as I can you know reasonably can in one episode and we’ll see we will see

Believe we have a few Oak saplings the only noise that I’ve turned down I have this mod called uh extreme sound Muffler and uh I have like the grass noises turned down so I can actually talk to you guys without having to go into my video editor and turn the noises down if

That’s not normal so I have a I have a special feeling about the world do I know exactly what that feeling means no but there’s something special something special about it now every single let’s play I’ve ever done I always get dungeons near my house

I’ll do the best to make that happen but you know people will claim that I you know cheated or something and got the seed I mean I literally just chose a random seed um I like Dungeons I think it’s a great source of early game XP will it happen

In this let’s play we’ll have to find out is the pressure there no um but yeah I don’t know the the one where I got three dungeons which is like one of the rarest thing oh a village we’ll go over there uh the one where I got three dungeons was pretty

Amazing I’m not gonna lie um no I don’t think I’m gonna be living anywhere around here so I am gonna have to uh take a few sacrificial pigs to feed us but the land gives back and we give to the land kind of I don’t I guess we’re running oh

You you have a Pig we won’t kill that pig it’s still a little bit bad when you have a giant pin of animals they don’t feel as bad but I always feel bad especially about just killing because they’re they’re not doing anything they’re just hanging out yes they’re just pixels but

My uh my human ethics are are showing okay so that looks like a decent Village that to me is like the most boring terrain We’re Not Gonna live there could we make a cool castle there that’s what I want to do I want to build a big castle

I don’t know why but I have this uh this feeling where I want to build a castle and nothing super interesting you know that I can see around here I mean Oak Forest mountains Plains is what it is we’ll keep traveling let me just wait on this I almost said beef

I do like the new damage tilt Direction basically all what that means is that wherever you take damage it’s gonna like kind of Point your player in that way so when you take fall damage for instance it kind of tilts the screen down like watch so that tilts you down

Kind of a cool thing they added in 1.20 I don’t know how how useful it is but I guess for seeing what direction you’re taking damage from that’s kind of cool okay so nothing quite special in there I I don’t think any of these things can

Really have like chests in them so I don’t really think there’s a point to exploring them so let’s go up on top of the hill and uh go look at the rest of the village because I believe it was up here so I need Cobblestone anyways I might as

Well just tunnel my way up there okay this should be the top Yeah here we go tunneled our way through did we get a lot of Cobble no but more than we had can we take on the Iron Golem no we will not leave them defenseless

Two Bells off the bat I feel like that’s pretty rare I feel like most Villages just have one Bell I remember on Bedrock for a while people could just dig straight down under the bells what do you have for trade so you want 20 wheat for an emerald I’m not going to

Say that that’s bad and uh you know Mojang’s planning on nerfing villagers in the next update which they may they may revoke that change I’m not really sure what they’re going for I do agree that some of them are a little weird um you know like trading sticks for

Emeralds is a little bit much but that was a good source of emeralds okay without that you gotta trade 20 wheat for one Emerald but you know maybe that would make the game a little bit a little bit more difficult we’ll take some of this I don’t recall ever seeing Little Farms

Rigid I want it to be free-flowing I want it to be you know Story Time with Neo sometimes um you know sometimes watching Neo’s greatest fails because sometimes I’m really not too good at the game I never claim to be I guess when you’re a YouTuber who focuses on one game

Is actually the leaf noise as well so it recycles some noises I didn’t know that and so I was on like a developers Forum looking for these things should I go all the way down here off the bat probably not and I really need to get water but

To sneak some loot out of there off the bat I remember there was some Let’s Plays where I tried to slow myself down I was like I’m not gonna get diamonds in the first episode that’ll solve the problem no the problem was never progressing too quickly through the game it was not

Doing enough things that was the problem okay dude everything’s out to get me today the squid the gravel and now I realize why people make a first base so that they can have some storage which we have 0.0.0 amount we don’t have any I was hoping for a dungeon I don’t know what

I’m expecting if I find a dungeon I will live at the dungeon and make it the center Nope nope stop stop stop chirping quit it why we don’t need gold we need some iron we need to find one of those oh um stop making noise stop transmitting the noise quit bad skulk sensors now the thing over there is the thing that spawns it right

It’s like that that no that thing is is the thing that that that causes so you know what I’m gonna do I’m gonna sneak over here I’m not gonna put a torch down I’m gonna sneak over here and just aha we’re fine like what is this then

I mean I can’t pick up any of these things so it doesn’t really matter but we at least killed the thing that can kill us and spawn the warden no diamonds no diamonds gonna be one of the things that spawns it in in just a random spot

The one thing that was really surprising to me is that just because you’ve found the the skulk underground it doesn’t mean there’s an ancient city it can sometimes just spawn without an ancient city I always thought that was so strange to me I was like why not just Reserve that for just the

Ancient city why scare people aha I told you every every single time to be fair to be fair our dungeons are not hard to find I I really don’t think dungeons are like some mystical hard to find oh that’s awesome that’s that’s a good feeling you know it’s zombie so I’m not super happy

With it but I’ll live here I’m not gonna I’m not I’m not gonna I’m not gonna put all my stuff in there okay hold on let me just let me just explore a little bit more maybe we’ll find a double dungeon um I do want to take note of those

And he’s making this video about Minecraft content getting repetitive and a good example he gave was like dreams Manhunt well he did one Manhunt video it was wildly successful so he figures let’s do another and then he kept doing them and he was kind of locked in he tried other things they

Weren’t doing as well and then he stopped right he just stopped the manhood videos he was done with them he got bored and they kept carrying on and they’re just there’s just copy and basically copy and pasted videos from hundreds of other YouTubers trying to ride his wave of success

And it’s exactly what happened with like for example a cookie Gods style of Hardcore Minecraft there’s a few other people like Sykes or Skies or something and they all do this all their videos are literally the exact same they they build a big structure in Hardcore Minecraft where they build a farm

That’s the entire thing and like you could argue well Neo your video was you walking around rambling well if if you want to watch that kind of stuff feel free go ahead I’m not knocking you for liking it but Minecraft content got repetitious and it’s just gotten worse and worse in

This algorithm that the engineer is over at Google have designed and meta have designed and all these big tech companies and especially at Tick Tock they’re getting more and more and more focused and I think they’re gonna run into a big problem that they’re not seeing and to understand what that problem is

The new biome is kind of infiltrated and there was going to be a boss in here you’re supposed to be a boss why on Earth when they made the big underground update did they not put a boss okay I’m so upset you know I’m just very you know

You can tell I’m I’m seething but yeah I’m not sure it’s still an unused feature come on Mojang give me give me some some little mind boss or something just just something absolutely crazy here okay I’ll go down this path and then we need to get back to this

Staircase we’re never gonna get it done I literally but I don’t have any weapons I’ve literally been digging for I’m not kidding like 30 minutes straight um and it’s just because this is way bigger than I thought to dig out it’s been fun I’m not like complaining or anything but it’s been
