No blocks in ableton this is my latest creation which allows you to make music using one of the most tedious methods ever minecraft no blocks and it actually works if you’re familiar with minecraft redstone this just works exactly the same so you can just place in either repeaters or note blocks wherever You want repeaters will slow down the signals when you press that it’ll take longer to play the notes and of course whatever surface your noteblocks are placed onto it will play a different instrument so let’s say we want these emerald blocks ah that sounds so good Oh nice okay let’s just throw a whole bunch of different noteblocks into here and let’s see if we can actually make a melody that sounds good i don’t know if it’s possible but we’ll give it a try that’s a lot of note blocks okay oh the xylobone be sounding good Oh why is that one so loud maybe we should stick with the classic hob for now uh i missed it why don’t i just make it so you could just put the note back down or just choose whatever note you want from the list i don’t know thought it’d be kind of funny This is really annoying um i think i need to start again let’s try get a really basic baseline going i think the base is the wood oh that’s a good baseline that should do for a very basic bass line now we can actually bring in another instance of this Dragon some more note blocks and make a little melody now if we just want to play this track here we just use the wood button like normal or if you want to play all them at the same time we can press How was that that sounds pretty cool might sound better on the xyler bone nope nope get out of here we need maybe this one that’s good okay repeater in there no block repeater no block This really gives you the full minecraft experience is so annoying to use better uh oh oh oh that’s a bit better maybe we’ll try a different instrument oh cowbell be banging i spent like two straight days working on this thing i’m just sitting here wondering why i guess this could actually be used To draft a song before you make it in minecraft but like there’s a million other tools that would make this so much easier so oh that sounds pretty cool should we maybe try bringing some drums oh this is gonna be annoying i have to split them Up onto different tracks so we need to put in a whole lot of repeaters in between each note block yeah uh is that gonna work just need to pitch it up and we’re perfect let’s mix up the kick drums i think we might throw one in over here Wait what i didn’t mean to do that that sounds pretty good though Like that actually give us a really basic rhythm that’s boring let’s throw in some yeah oh yes we’d be making some absolutely rapid progress right here i’m speedrunning this this is so slow oh no what have i done did it yes oh how is that Yeah that’s good now there’s one really big downside to doing this many hi-hats and that is that i’ve reached the end of the pattern so i can’t actually make the loop any longer and i didn’t figure out a looping mechanism yet because i don’t know what i’m doing i don’t know How to make plugins i just wanted to make something funny and i think i’ve accomplished it this is taking me 30 minutes to make this 10 second loop okay let’s bring in another layer uh we’ll go for maybe the hay bales because they sound funny there we go that should be good That’s that ugly wait i just feel like i could actually throw a fix directly onto these tracks that sounds kind of cool i think there’s actually a downside to this though when we press the button that gets reverbed as well i guess even when you’re adding repeaters or note blocks Wow sounds like i’m in a cave okay so i can’t really make anything longer than this i guess this is my finished beat Wow that’s amazing now this device might look like it actually works like redstone but technically it does not because you could just place in a whole bunch of note blocks next to each other and the signal will just keep on going so we go like that We get a nice little i know that technically this isn’t right if i wanted to do chords i’d have to put the note block above and below because the power wouldn’t get passed on this far but like i don’t know how to do that but i think It’s a pretty good solution it works really well just looks a little bit cursed because like that shouldn’t work let’s try to push the limits of science we’re gonna put in 32 note blocks this is very slow notes in at the end and that should be it this is gonna be a masterpiece I feel like this is gonna crash my ableton now quickly before i play this amazing creation here i know a whole lot of people will be asking where can i download this because i want to have the most tedious music making experience ever well i’ve got news for you you can’t mainly because When i started making this thing i had absolutely no idea what i was doing and i set everything up to be local to my computer so if i even knew how to share devices i’d have to go through and change like thousands of different instances for Where all the files are located and like yeah this alone already took me way too long to make it just doing it as a little bit of a learning experience and a little bit of a meme for a video maybe in the future what i’ve actually learned a bit more About max for life devices and actually some idea of what i’m doing i can make a more efficient one and i can release that one but until then let’s finish this video off with ow that was so loud You Video Information
