Life In The Woods (A Minecraft Adventure) – EP01 – Let’s Start Hungry Mode!

Hello everybody and welcome to life in the woods those of you who’ve been around my channel while know that i’ve played this modpack in the past and i absolutely loved it but if you’re unfamiliar with it life in the woods was a mod pack developed by federen a few years ago

It’s about survival exploration and just beauty and enjoying your surroundings and just enjoying the game in general there are two versions of this modpack there’s a basic version and there’s the hungry version i’ll be playing the hungry version for some added difficulty so the goal of this series by the way is

To provide you with a visually stunning series where you guys can just sit back and enjoy the adventure there are still going to be many challenges to face so our journey isn’t always gonna be easy but hopefully it’ll be something you’ll be excited to watch every week with all that being said

I think we should probably get started as i mentioned we are playing the hungry version so food is going to be very very important kendall candelilla can i eat it possibly but possibly not um it’s not great that we started off in this desert but at the same time it’s kind of nice

That we started in this desert because i love this biome we’ve got some golden saguaro here some more candelilla this is beautiful by the way absolutely gorgeous i always thought whenever i was playing this uh game mode oh look a butterfly this modpack i should say that

This is what minecraft should be like you know what i’m gonna grab these for later because i think they will come in handy this is acatillo i think if i remember correctly i can make some stuff out of this uses a swiftness solve that’s nice i just

Need sugar which i mean i have a sugar cane already and then some seaweed wrap which i probably make from kelp either yellow giant kelp or green giant kelp this is so exciting as you can see my food is already pretty low so we’re gonna have to keep on top of our food

Situation here there are different types of food as well oh perfect there’s like oh you know what i should have broken that because i’m gonna need the food immediately there’s like small snacks you’ll see it’ll say snack here nourishing morsel that’s nice um and then there’s like full meals and stuff

Like that so each one obviously will have a different effect on your health did i just see i certainly did this is going to be nice i wonder what’s going to be down there before we head down obviously we’ll need to make some basic tools is there wood underneath all this there

Sure is a couple other things because we’re playing in the hungry mode there are some added difficulties to farming so you can’t even make a stone hoe or or uh um what’s the next one after a stuff a wooden hose sorry the one out the one

Below a stone hoe is a wooden hole you can’t even make those guys you’ve got to get iron to make hoes so it’s not going to be easy but together we can do it i’m still doing decently well i’ve got a couple snacks in my inventory i mean

It’s not going to be enough to oh what’s this soapstone very nice i’ve used soapstone in the past for builds and i really like it as a block soapstone has been gathered it’s time to make myself some decent tools now by decent i mean stone

Maybe we should have a little bit of a snack before we go in here nice sized cantaloupes right there okay i think it seems pretty safe in here let’s go ahead and dig down i don’t know exactly what we’ll be able to find in here but it’s got to be better than

Nothing and this is a really nice start if we can get some decent stuff i have no idea oh what was that oh goodness was that a creeper that snuck up on me oh this is gonna be good too some coal okay let’s just forget about that i have

No idea what just happened to us i think it may have been a creeper that snuck up on us but didn’t quite explode on us because otherwise we’d be dead did i even lose any health from that probably not let’s make ourselves some torches here yeah we’ll keep nine coal for later

Oh this is good okay oh you know what oh right we’re playing on an older version of minecraft so i don’t even have an offhand guys it’s gonna take some getting used to i’ll take the gold and the bones that’s nice let’s break that pressure plate a saddle and some more bones

Some more bones oh a poor four sapling harlequin mistletoe berries okay some armor some rotten flesh and then gold and more bones i’m hoping to find a dog so that i can make friends i mean going on this journey all by myself is probably not going to be the

Most fun i’m also going to take this stuff with me because you never know when you’ll need to blow something up whoa it’s raining out and um there are there are monsters everywhere this is not good because we can’t exactly run constantly we have to keep an eye on our food situation oh

My gosh what is this stuff candelilla of course i always keep going back to the gandalilla i’m thinking maybe all this poor sheep sheep i hate to do this to you but i might have to murder you maybe not though maybe not let’s look around here there might be some

More oh no not the spider we gotta take shelter gotta find shelter somewhere [Applause] so was not expecting the situation to be so dire already can i eat these berries well first of all what use do they have oh harlequin fizz we got a little berry powder happening

We got some jelly that would be good and then some okay i think i can actually eat them though so that’s a little bit of nutrition can i eat this i think i can we’re peckish now in the top right hand corner you can see our hunger situation

Man this um this rain is definitely not my favorite occurrence at the very moment the rain has stopped oh and it’s a nice bright sunny day oh there’s a spider right here come on buddy will you drop a spider eye and feed me okay oh string that’s gonna be very

Important lots of stuff take string okay i heard you zombie that’s fine let’s look for some gourds stuff we can eat we still have a pretty bad situation here i don’t want to murder this pig but i think i might have to i’m so sorry little buddy it’s in the name of survival

I am officially starving so um chickens just like you’re just like your piggy friend i have to apologize for this you sneaky little guy [Applause] and look at this this cooked pork chop is just a nourishing snack oh boy we’re gonna need a lot more food

But now that we have a little food in us maybe we can look around here and see if we can’t find some more gourds It’s getting dark i found some pumpkin but best of all i found this village right here and i think this village had oh there’s a skeleton there as well i think this village has some food in it if they don’t mind i’m gonna go ahead and uh move in for

The night oh goodness oh oh things are happening that are not good things where is the entrance to this village where is the entrance oh it’s right here okay i got you little villager I’m getting in there we’re safe here we’re safe my apologies good sir i had to take some of your books all of them i took all of them i’m sorry okay let’s check out these crops i’m hoping nothing oh there’s a cricket over there i’m hoping no mobs

Are around i don’t think they are now here’s the thing these crops are not fully grown so even if i break one i’ll only get the seed however having some seeds would be kind of nice right now wouldn’t it hmm i don’t have a whole lot of inventory space

I think i should probably take some of these seeds though okay i took six tomato crops four brussels sprouts let’s get a couple of garlic cloves here or garlic seeds i guess what are these guys winter squash i feel like this will provide a nice healthy meal

Broccoli i’ll take some broccoli i hate it but hey it’s good for you and some parsnips and then some onions some okra definitely some oprah okra and some i said oprah and some damp grass let’s leave the damp grass behind so is that another temple

Or is that the same one and i went in the circle i think that’s another temple nothing down here right that is a deep well all right so our situation right now can i turn this into some sort of food pumpkin seeds uh-huh i sure can

Carrots onions and spice leaf okay oh we can make some pumpkin bread pumpkin oats scones is that what that said that’s really good stock two pumpkins and a pot and i can make a light meal garden soup that might be oh veggie bait right there are traps

In this game and you can trap animals and stuff here’s some stock now i think you can make stock out of a bunch of stuff oh yeah we need we need some iron we need to go caving eventually but for now maybe we go check out that thing over there i’m

Hoping that’s not the same one that i’ve already been to in the meantime i’m sorry oh that’s a piranha okay piranhas are a thing i was hoping the piranhas or the squid would drop some food but they do not what are these cactus fruit oh this’ll be nice these things are everywhere

There’s some dolomite here and some black granite that’s kind of cool we need to make a backpack as well guys here let’s break that just to be safe let’s put up a torch in here what can we find okay more of this which normally i wouldn’t

Be oh it only stacks to 16 as well huh okay let’s go ahead and put all that stuff in there i’m gonna eat this now because why not i accidentally placed a couple blocks more iron wait no not more iron iron period that’s going to be very

Handy for us let’s replace oh maybe we don’t need no we do need that that that’s that you can make some food out of that if i’m not mistaken let’s get the dirt in there let’s eat some more of this mmm delicious we got a couple more saddles but we

Don’t need that many let’s get the iron in our inventory more iron a prickly pear fruit which is a hearty morsel and another poor poor four sapling all right let’s grab the tnt and let’s get going oh is this a plane’s biome it is a plane’s biome it’s very nice

Way nicer than vanilla i think what i’m gonna do is sleep inside that temple tonight oh no skeleton just had my first night’s sleep and the sun is coming up and shining i am hungry i’m gonna take this bed with me now if i’m not mistaken the exit was not here

Here we go i got a decent amount of cactus fruit on me things are looking good and i want to get out of that desert biome it is not something i’m looking forward to spending more time in fragrant fern that’s kind of cool what are those guys centipedes

A centipede can i i don’t want to kill it i’m just going to let them be what happens if i step on you nothing good i didn’t want to accidentally oh look at you guys you guys are not harmful right i mean i know they’re not in real life so

It’s a good thing they’re not here spanish moss very cool this by the way is a birch biome a birch forest biome to be more precise and again so much more beautiful than the vanilla biome i’ll take that mushroom and just off the shore here we have a little bit of

Trouble guys do you guys see in the water those guys i don’t think they’re friendly let’s avoid them and let’s hole in here for the night and maybe we can find a cave didn’t find any caves down here but i did find something that i needed very desperately redstone and i’ll show you

Why in a second with this redstone we can make a compass and with that compass we can make an empty antique atlas guys we finally have some way to mark our progress another nice side effect of digging down all the way is i found 25 ore iron ore

To be exact so we’re gonna have uh some decent armor i think too absolutely love the way this antique atlas looks follow player beautiful then you could scroll left and right i wish there was a way to make it bigger maybe there is but i don’t know how to do it anyway markers

That’s going to be pretty important could we add a marker right here and name it hidey hole and we’ll put a little bed as the look at that boom hidey hole and speaking of beds it’s time to sleep again okay buddy okay take it easy i’m not

Going in the water i just want to grab what i think is a mushroom garden right there oh i’m in the water it’s okay i think that’s probably too shallow for them is this what i think it is yes it is okay now oh there’s more mushrooms here we could

Definitely make some mushroom stew and stuff like that hopefully we have enough to admit to make a decent meal but i think oh yes it is a gourd garden right here a couple of them i think hold on oh this is good news for us oh man we’ve got cantaloupe some

Zucchini some winter squash some cucumber we’ve got more cactus fruit we’ve got five mushrooms we are doing pretty good for food now finally a wolf willow maybe i should go in here a little bit further and see if i can’t find more of these gardens a ground garden

That’s nice sweet potato two sweet potatoes and a carrot guys we have wait what is that oh more mushroom gardens okay this uh this biome by the way this is nice beans peas okay this biome by the way is probably a great biome to spend a little bit of time in

I think it’s time to start planting our first seeds now i’m not a hundred percent familiar with how exactly this is gonna work or if it’s gonna work but i’m gonna try by the way because we’re playing the hungry mode the the hoes last a lot less time too just just this

Little section here had my iron hoe depleted by less than half so that’s not fun let’s do tomatoes here i’m not sure why i chose to do it in that awkward shape we’ll do these guys there we’ll do the okra here some brussels sprouts here and let’s plant as many of these as

We can maybe make a garden even bigger you better not be eating my plant centipede you better not be eating my plants i will be very very upset anyway another thing you can do with the stuff that you pick up is you can actually turn well i guess the carrot is

Vanilla bad example but you can actually turn the food you pick up into seeds so this is a nice little bean plant we’re going to start with here and i think maybe we’ll do some zucchini would be nice i do want to leave myself some food luckily we still have some cactus fruit

And i have a feeling that in here are lots and lots of gardens that we can find so that we can have more food i’m really liking this birch biome in order to fertilize our crops i don’t think we can actually use the bone meal so we have to make a composter that

Is not how you do that there you go so we’ll do three here i believe and then we’ll do there we go there’s our compost bin and we’ll put this right outside and this is gonna be used to create compost now what can we put in there that is a good

Question can i put stuff like this in there yes i can oh that’s kind of cool okay hmm maybe we make some shears and clip up some of these grass pieces i think our first bit of compost is almost ready oh that went backwards there might be some sort of um

A good combination for compost this is what we’re after right there oh not quite done yet and i know you can put sticks and stuff in there too so maybe we’ll put some sticks and see what happens you’re supposed to do combinations of greens and browns if i’m not mistaken

And i don’t think i’m mistaken let’s go back in here let’s put you guys in there and let’s see if we can get our first bit of compost here this would be exciting oh there it is compost now can i right click with the compost on this tomato plant

Yes i can now that’s an okra plant not tomato the tomatoes are over here i’m a very good farmer i don’t even know what these plants are whoa that is a whale remind me to never go in the ocean well guys that’s gonna be it for today’s episode
