Livingrock Automation (Minecraft Mage Quest | Part 41) [Botania 1.7.10]

Good evening and welcome back to magequest i’m modi apparatus on today’s episode we’re going to do some more things in botania a little automation actually this time around so let’s get going all right so last time we were working on getting this a little bit more efficient by including some new lenses

And we’re gonna play with some lenses today as well oh this is full ah this is working well i did a little bit of efficiency stuff on this already i’ll show off some of the stuff i’ve been working for efficiency here so we have this going here i have two sparks on

This and they’re all being linked up to this one here i don’t have like uh you can get upgrades to these so they’re like you can set up different ones so you know which one’s sending and which one receiving gets sent from one pulled another with certain upgrades but what i

Have now is basically i have these three dispensers here hooked up to this hopper um with some uh red crystals from auto meiji and uh basically it’s just designed to drop these it’s very difficult to drop these on here actually so i just click this and it drops the three necessary

Components and it starts this thing and actually it’s coming from both sides wow this is going super fast now so i can make terra steel very very quickly now and so we got our tear still so i just click that whenever i need it refill these as needed as well um pretty good

Let’s go make sure there’s equal number in each of them and this should be okay so we’ll throw this in here we’re up to 14 tara steel i can do more than that as you can see i had another two or three left in there uh i set up this over here

Between episodes just so i can use some enchanting out here these count basically for all if you have two of them accounts for all 30 levels necessary the books here let’s get our armor equipped again so we all 30 levels from the books are just from these we don’t have the book

Cases around which is nice because then i can use my books for enchanting then uh you got this all set up in here i get a little bit of lighting in here move some things around i did let’s do a look over here so i set up

This system here and basically this is i can throw coal into here and it’ll go into the end of flames um i can use charcoal coal anything like that and basically it’ll uh when it doesn’t have anything right now it’s open so it should be dropping stuff let’s see do i

Have a cool i have lots of coal back in the house here let’s just demonstrate with this uh so this is a nice way to generate a lot of mana quickly those six well eight there um those eight end of flames will generate pretty pretty much mana but

They do they don’t accept any more fuel if they’re still burning so we need to like control the amount that this pours out so we used an open crate from botania and i can just throw in let’s see so once this once this gets something sitting there it won’t send

Anymore until those two are taken away so it does two through the open crate which is fine um can’t really be avoided but uh yeah so if at the worst case scenario they’ll be too wasted uh that’ll just be sitting there for until it times out and once they’re all filled up

The rest will sit there so as long as the pressure plates down nothing else will be streaming out uh works pretty nicely the same principle goes over here and we’ll come back to this in a little bit here too to automate this hopefully um uh all right there’s something underneath

The ground here i think yeah one of these uh what the one of these things i think it’s from necromancy i’m not too sure i can’t remember what it’s called but they wither you and they’re very quite quite frightening actually so basically this is same kind of thing

Here this i just i just can mine this oops in mine all this here and this uh rent random carpus will drop down the stuff it finds onto its uh correct thing i have wool underneath this right in carpus here so it’ll drop down the stone onto wool

And i don’t want that to be there so we’ll get that out and then over here i have a hopper hock set up so that it collects anything basically it’s said to collect living wood and uh and living rock only so anything else that pops up here won’t

Collect so it won’t over you’re gonna go over here and collect this for instance so this will just sit here and uh keep the thing from getting depressed and then these will uh slowly slowly uh turn into what we need but um we’re gonna come up with a system to hopefully

Automate this a little bit um we’ll have to it’ll take a little bit of work i think we’ll have to try some different things out uh what else did i do here oh we should probably also do some more stuff with mana generation here too i did you’ll

Notice i moved the uh day blooms i put them up here and so this is where i’m putting my blooms and night shades uh i need to do more of them there’s a lot more of these they’re not generating nearly enough i have the uh mana spreaders for these hidden below

Here so they’re right here and they’re pointing at this here which is distributing to my uh my enchanting system basically and it’ll also apparently it’ll work for the tariff steel here as well because it was pulling from both last time i did it here so which is fine i don’t mind that

Um it’ll all fill up as you can see over here it’s already filled so it doesn’t matter if it pulls off here or there um it’s already filled over here but we’ll use all this mana for other things too here um big big projects here in the

Future i think so more tear steel so we can almost make tear steel armor at this point because we have we just need a few more ender pearls we can actually probably make it uh we could also do the uh the next tier of stuff here soon too

I think now we have enough tear steel here um so what i want to do right now i think is get these floating hydrangeas i hydrogeas yes i’m saying that right now i think uh we’re gonna get this set up with another mana generation system we don’t have to move this whole thing

Let’s say we can put it over here then where do i put this this is not the best system yet either where do i put this then what we could do is actually put it in the wall here and generate the magnet over here maybe kind of like having the mountain being

Intact but i guess we can actually take this out and put it back in here maybe uh so let me clear this out make room for it and i’ll show you my plan for well this might not work we’ll find a good spot for this a moment here i’m

Just going to take a little quick break uh maybe actually put it right here oh also i should mention i’ve been working on the the blood magic area here looking okay so far this is actually from botania this brick here the hellish brick this requires netherrack and uh

Stone brick to make that and it’s kind of cool there’s a lot of little bricks inside of botania which are kind of nice it’s a really cool mod i gotta say a lot a lot of cool elements to it um it’s got elements of like chisel in it where you

Can get extra bricks like this um a lot a lot of random stuff it’s kind of cool anyways uh so i’m gonna actually take a minute here i think what i’ll do is put it right here and uh we’ll come up with a good system to generate even more mana for ourselves

Um so the problem is a little bit far away from our our main main pool here so maybe i do want to put it over here after all so i’m going to take this down i think it’ll move this someplace else uh later in the episode so i’ll be right

Back after i move all this stuff here all right so i think i’m ready to set this next thing up here the uh water tank is basically what this is gonna be so um before we had a nice little system of pools where the the uh the hydrongias would draw water out of

And they had infinite sources on them but they changed uh vascule changed the way that the hydrogens work and they actually started drinking too often which meant that they would the water would dry up and we wouldn’t actually have any water left there so it means we had to make our

Thing less efficient overall this should the new system should be super efficient and we shouldn’t have any issues uh with getting it to be uh fully efficient with all 16 here so let’s and it could even expand it further honestly um so what we can do now

Is uh lay these down like so i want to have it like one away from the wall like this two away from the wall maybe i’ll leave two okay i’ll do two away from the wall okay i’ll do it like this so we got the floating ones so we don’t have to plant

Them on grass now which is nice and then we gotta go up so and so they actually know what we should do is actually put the water down first this is not gonna work because like i said these things drink really really quickly um we won’t be able to get the water

Source blocks all fit in here before they actually start drying them all up so let’s get the water in here first is that our water tank and so to do that we’re just gonna use our water out of the seas here and this basically works as like a never-ending bucket

Uh and fill this whole thing up with water water source blocks and start the next level make sure it’s all filled in the next level shouldn’t take any time at all with this thing i don’t think this thing takes man or anything either so it’s kind of cool that way

No that was a bit of a problem might have an issue here well maybe not actually this is gonna work out okay and we’ll leave it open on the top so we can expand in the future maybe we’ll see this might work okay with this the 16 we

Have so many different i mean i think the key is having lots of different types of mana produce production production production uh so we have the coal we have the um the just the sun we have all kinds of stuff now i might have to do some reconfiguring here

Yeah let’s go like actually you know what we can do is i think when we bring these ones up it should fill in the sources so let’s go like this now oops not like that like this let’s start putting these in and you can see they’re already starting to drink like crazy

And if we put in a source on top of these now that should fill it in now right from the corners um let’s fill in a block usually if you put a block underneath it it’ll fill in the source block there there it goes okay now we can fix it

So the deal is that these things don’t drink above them so we can have these uh fully fully as long as our source blocks on the top the source block will carry down to the ones below and then um yeah we won’t have to worry about

Uh running out of water here ever that’s the key it’s not running out of water see why does that do that there we go all right that should do with the four blocks here let’s do the trick okay cool and now there’s a little bit of a spot right here

There we go i think we got it now perfect all right let’s take away these blocks here now it should stay source blocks on top here see as long as you have your the uh the flowers covered for this you won’t run out of water in the system like this i guess

Um so i’ve seen so far we’ll see how it works last time i thought my system was perfect and they changed something so who knows and we have this one out of place come on there we go so this should work and now we need to start collecting the mana

So what i do is i got a bunch of the mana spreaders here and we’ll put one here but one here that should be enough i made a bunch of these just in case uh once you get a lot of mana going though it does get a little laggy over

Here so you gotta be aware of that too um the frame rates will start to suffer quite a bit instead of firing through the thing yeah that’s not gonna work okay we’ll have to move it over by one i don’t think it’ll fire through the block unfortunately let’s put it here

Now i made this thing the size it is because um this is the biggest size it can be actually this is working just with which is the one here that’s okay this might be enough now let’s make sure these are all paired up and not filling up more than they need to be

So let’s check them quick with the rod here is we’re going to that one which is fine actually between the two we probably don’t need the other one over on the side here so oop gotta get some air uh yeah so we wait not either one on the

Sides actually we only need to just a couple up here let’s make sure this one can keep up still oh yeah cause it’s just got the dave looms on there that’s not gonna that’s not gonna fill up uh so actually we don’t think we even need this one so that’s great we’ll get

We’ll save it for another project then so this is all set up ready to go we’re using even more mana and uh man yeah you can definitely see why the white delivered be a little bit of lag right now um so cool we got another system of mana

This is going to be another passive system uh which i love because it’s just you know infinite man generation without much work um pretty much all of our systems are passive except for the uh the end of flames over here we just have to fill that one up with with stuff

Whenever we need it so next why is there always enderman around here we’ll have to get rid of them somehow sometime soon um i want to do something with producing i wanted to get something producing of living living wood and living rock here automatically it’s going to take a

Little bit of planning i think um because mining this is it takes time it takes time you gotta lay it down you gotta wait for it to come back and then you come back later it’s not as efficient as it could be just to wear just making it constantly

So we’re gonna take this down here and i’m gonna set it up over here this is our guy right yeah he’s our guy uh and we’ll set it up over here i think i don’t want to worry about too much with the farm because the farm will be moving

As you can see the uh blood magic is already encroaching on top of it so i’ll move the farm’s place out eventually but um yeah i think we’ll put it over here and this should hopefully be an automated system so i’m going to get some materials gathered for this and

I’ll be right back all right so we’re ready for the next phase here i got just a basic setup here i got my writing cup propis corpus i from a red carpet set up here with wool as the target uh so anything that comes within range of it we’ll put on wool uh

So we’ll use this to place our our stone and our wood that will be turned into the living rock and living wood now this is our pure daisies here these will be doing the work here changing the stuff into living wood and now we just need a way to pick

Up the things which will dispute the hopper hock here that’s not going to be too big of a deal let’s put this over here so the big system for actually let’s put it over let’s put it over at the end here now let’s put it like

Yeah let’s put it right here i guess i don’t know where it’s going to be best but we’ll do that okay so the system i came up with for breaking this um is pretty simple uh it requires a lot of elements here though so what we’re going

To do is use the open crate we’ll use with this random carpet so let’s let’s lay this here for now uh we’ll need a hopper over here for that too um what we’re gonna do is use redstone mana spreaders and we’ll put one here and one here and then we’re going to go

Grab our old friend the border lens we used this on our mana blaster previously and now we’re going to use it again to get these to mine their targets here now believe well i hope this works but uh what happens when this thing hits a mana pool

Is that it will not mind the manifold so what we’ll do here is put a mana pool right here now i hope this works i haven’t tested it yet but we’ll see if it works if not we’ll think of something else here but i’ll put a mana distributor here so basically it’s going

To fire from here into the main distributor then i’ll put it into this mana pool and then this will draw with the mana pool so it’s not going to waste any mana at all this will be truly conserved but the whole system will only do very very little mana i think you go

On here um is the plan anyways i don’t know if it’s actually going to work so first of all we’ll set up our same system as we did over there um with the uh random corpus here and the dropper uh the open crate rather with the hopper

Set up on it so we can drop the stuff we need that’s a pretty simple setup uh all you need to do is just put down the pressure pad there i can put down the redstone coming off of that put it into any type of block i suppose i’ll use

What i guess for now i’ll make this look nicer later uh what i did last time is i had used this stuff from automates you these red crystals were kind of handy uh so i did that and then i put the uh hopper here we’ll have to rate lay it

Down twice here because we have to put it like right there and then we’ll put the open crate on top of that and we’ll actually have to make this so it connects so we’ll go like this so that’s all we need to do this system is perfect so as soon as something lays

On here it’s not going to do anything with it until it gets placed and this might actually even place that hopper someplace oh no it’s not going too good um hopefully it’s set up correctly let’s make sure it’s set with yeah it is set up as well okay good to know

Hope and i replaced it so it is working here so what we’ll do now is um set up how we want these things to work uh and we’re gonna do we’re gonna need a little bit more redstone here so let’s look at this and we’re gonna set up a redstone signal

Coming from this might not be the best setup here we might need the room on this side let’s see i don’t know it’ll work the the redstone doesn’t doesn’t connect to these anyways okay so the redstone signal just needs to pass past it doesn’t need to actually

Connect to it all right so we’ll do is make this look a little nicer later but um let’s bring this down over here i want these going at the same time and we’re going to do is put on a magic hourglass now this is something from auto meiji as well

And basically if you use a wand you can set it to whatever time you want so i’m gonna set it to one minute five seconds so it has enough time here i’m gonna set it to repeat and i want it to pulse when it does uh its thing here um maybe i

Should set it to two minutes just to be sure let’s do two minutes because it has to lay down the new stuff here um i pick everything back up again so let’s go like two minutes one minute 30 seconds it’s not gonna be the fastest we’ll tweak this as it goes here um

Don’t need uh we’ll need to do for the hopper hawk here and make sure everything’s set up correctly oops don’t want to do that uh for the hopper hock all we need to do to make sure it’s set up correctly is to put a chest next to it

And then limit the things it can pick up so we’ll use those with item frames put an item frame on there and frame in there and we’ll say you can only pick up a living wood and living rock and that’ll make this hopper hawk ignore everything else so this will

Be our collection area for our living rock and living wood um and these will bore into uh the blocks as they get placed here so let’s actually do a test run here i got eight this needs uh 12 total do we have any more stone let’s grab

Some more stone just we can do a full test here um and then after a minute it should let’s see there we go this will work let’s fill the whole thing up here why not it’s i i’m confident it’s gonna work all right let’s drop it down here let’s place stuff here

And then we’ll start this going here one minute thirty seconds okay and hopper hawk is not running covers is not placing it why are you not placing it it should go it should be working it worked before hmm you know what i wonder if it’s let’s replace this wool here

That’s actually oh there it goes wait it’s grabbing the dirt just want to grab the wood though this is odd all right it’s doing a very very slowly job too why does i want to grab that hmm why was this working before all right for some reason doesn’t like

It when it’s on the pressure pad when i have it off the pressure pad it works so something’s wrong with my system here right here right now it was working over there just fine though um well i think what we can do is come with a different system for this maybe so

We’ll worry about this part of it this will figure out later uh it was working for me before i don’t know why the hopper this uh this arena copper carpet doesn’t like the the pressure pad for some reason but when i have stuff next to it it should work now let’s give

Ourselves a little more time here because this probably already went let’s do this let’s go like this and move stand into bottom right click it so we’ll reset the timer on this back to 130 okay so let’s let it do its thing here um we need more wood for it

Of course because i didn’t grab enough oh actually there’s more wood in here there we go and we’ll just drop a few more on here let it lay all that down now each one of those pieces it picks up we’ll need one minute now once we get

This whole thing set up with one pulse here it should work so let’s give it a minute here and test how this is going to work i hope it does i really hope it does all right so the living wood is starting to change the older pieces are starting

To go and this has 21 seconds remaining okay so this will be moment of truth here get it all changed over if it doesn’t all change over that’s fine it’ll just the right and carpets will replace anything that the hopper doesn’t pick up the hopper hawk doesn’t pick up

Hopefully this will do the trick though oh the truth and the piss these do not fire i wonder if they don’t have mana let’s put a little more man in there let’s take a whole lot of mana i want to remember all right so why do they not fire

Well let’s make sure that the mana things are working here first of all the mana spreaders are working here so let’s just put a signal on and see if they go no they’re not firing so something’s wrong with the way they’re set up here they might be too close to the uh wood

Here to fire so we’ll have to rethink this for a second here uh we’ll back them off one step and uh grab our lenses back before we do anything all right took a little rest get rid of the rain there now we should be good to go with that

Um let’s put this like so all right so this should work that was the problem um first of all let’s just test if these consent with uh the mana pool next to them like this so make sure that works first of all here a little a man in there

And then we’ll test the conservation of man i think too if it will go all the way through well let’s just let’s just make sure it’s gonna work here that works okay so all we need to do now is get these wired into each other now let’s make sure this works here

Because it might have been because they weren’t aimed right at the mana spreaders that could have been the problem okay so that’s the deal so the breadstone needs to be flowing into the mana spreaders that was the reason they weren’t working before okay so that’s

Not the end of the world we can make that work we just got to make sure we’ve got enough room here to spread it out like that uh in which case we need to move our system here that’s okay it wasn’t working anyways and we’ll just uh give it a little more

Room so it can be aimed right into it look like this and like this and like so there that should do the trick now okay so it probably could have been we probably could make this system uh simpler again um moving closer together uh but that’s all right we don’t need to

Worry about it right yet um making it more compact as a a stage two process here and the conservation of mana system seems to have worked it’s hard to say i don’t have any man in this pool over here yet so let’s put some in here

And we’ll let it do its thing here so now it’s still doing everything every minute and a half it’ll send the pull still all right and let’s put in the wood again here let it do its thing grab some more and this is another proof concept here

All right let’s grab the stuff back now time for the real deal make sure it works here and then we’ll be all set oh it’s beautiful awesome so now this should pick up all the stuff and this will probably lay those back down again no maybe not

The only thing we need to be aware of is that this might try to connect to these mana pools yes it is so what we need to do is set up a separate manifold otherwise it’s going to have a lot of range to it that we don’t want um

If we give it mana this could be why we’re losing mana on the whole system here we don’t want to have to fill this thing with mana so let’s just put in just a regular pool here next to the hopper hawk and we’ll make sure this is paired to this

There so it’s paired to this manifold here which won’t be getting any mana to it so that’s fine that won’t uh it won’t try to try to use up the mana of our system here that’s probably why i was running out of mana before and now this is this paired up to anything

Let’s pair up to this mana pool too we don’t want that necessarily doing anything either all right so now nothing should be getting anything from anything here it is set to wool though as you can see so i don’t know why i wasn’t working it was something interacting with the

Pressure plate though something like that was happening so maybe we just need to do a timer on this too i don’t know don’t quite know what we should do there anyways i think that’s going to do it for this episode of mage quest we got our mana spreader harvesting automated

System here so that should give us lots of uh lots lots more uh there’s living wood and a living rock and all that stuff here so it should be pretty good going forward here uh there’s one more thing in botany i want to do uh maybe

Next episode but it won’t be the entire episode i think we’ll see what happens with it but um yeah it’s another another big step we have to take here and then hopefully we’ll be moving on to other mods at that point and maybe getting back into another house and starting
