I recently discovered that blender has a game engine and since I’m familiar with blender and comfortable with coding I believe making a game won’t be too challenging for me hello everyone my name is Jeremiah in the past I’ve been passionate about building robots from recycled materials And now as a student at ump I’m excited to embark on this new journey of game development let me briefly explain how the game I’m working on will function in the game you’ll take on the role of a South African taxi driver due to the limitations of my computer’s Power I’ll include a few locations like Johannesburg sandton Pretoria and Soweto for now to kick things off I’ll start by creating a menu the menu and game files will be separate I’m going to use an orthographic camera to make a 2d scene I’ll add a plane that acts like a sensor When I move the mouse cursor closer to the text the text will move or glow I like the devil Breeze font so I’ll use it throughout the entire game foreign I’ll connect the text to the sensor so when the sensor moves the text moves with it then I’ll duplicate the text and Customize the sensor to cover the length of the text Next I’ll add an emission material to the sensor I want the sensor to glow when the mouse cursor is near the text Blender is great because you don’t always need to use Python coding you can use logic bricks which are simpler blender primarily uses python Foreign I just press P the sensor is working but I want it to stop glowing when I move the mouse away Okay now it’s working the way I want it to I’ll do the same thing for all the buttons Thank you Great now all the text can sense and react One more thing I want the sensor to play a sound when it starts glowing I’ll add a sound activator foreign I’m happy it’s working and I’ll repeat the process for the other buttons Now it’s time to create the menu interface foreign foreign making this video I already designed how it should look I’m not sure if it looks great please let me know in the comments below this is what I’ve come up with so far but I’m not finished I still need to add Settings and other options for changing resolution adjusting volume brightness and more don’t forget to subscribe to get notified when I upload the next video Video Information
