Mage Quest: Episode 2

Hey there everybody aaron here and welcome back to mage quest so i should have read all of these um we’re back in the book the quest book i should have read all these i forgot there’s actually um before you start there’s good explanations of all the different magic

Schools that you can get and i didn’t read all of them and so this version of the quests does not give you the good explanations and i apologize for that basically what we’re going to do for our secondary one is we’re going to pick up the quest the

Magic that uses flower uses a bunch of the flowers uh around us and there’s a ton of them so i figured that we just do that as it might be it is as it would probably be something easier to use so that’s why we’re going to do

That and we’re going to go ahead and do that for work on that quest first just to let the reeds get have a chance to kind of grow over there because we need to make paper to make a bookshelf for the next thing we got to do so we need white

We need a white whoops sorry about that man my ear has been bugging me we need white orange yellow and light blue flowers but they have to be special flowers they have to say this the mystical colored flowers is what they have to read otherwise we

Can’t make what we need out of them so here’s an orange one the orange ones stand out pretty good so that’s one of the items we need so we need blue light blue not cyan which is what those ones things were okay what the hell is this

I don’t know but i suspect that there is something not cool about this place that’s an interesting pillar of block these flowers here are the cyan flowers so that’s why they don’t work we need specifically light blue i think these ones here are the light blue ones actually

Yes so we got the light blue we got the orange we just need to grab a yellow oh there’s the white ones the white ones i recognize because they have a very distinct shape they all they all have distinct shapes but for some reason that one is memorable to me

So now we need yellow we need a specific yellow though it’s that we can’t just use these uh dandelions well i would say we don’t have to worry about the cows going extinct anytime soon it’s over there okay we’re gonna head that direction after we grab these flowers here what is that

But i didn’t need two of them did i not pick them up what the hell okay apparently i messed that up somehow whatever there manually submit claim reward so there we go we’ve finished the initiation quests oh there here’s a speaky little listen much ho ho here’s a curious one

Heavy-looking form you’re carrying around handy-dandy notebook you’re going to need something to take notes in why are you looking at me like that i don’t expect you to remember everything unlike those dreary people from house elora eloria for starters why don’t you try waving a sapling over a book

That should block your vision long enough for me to exchange it with alexa i mean what no sneaky magics happening here no siree flame reward floral fertilizer all right so we’ve started our way on that one we’re not gonna spend we’ll probably split our time among things but i wanted

To get that turned in because that was one of the things that i messed my quest book up with um accidentally for some reason though those forms count as normal paper and so you can get totally screwed by them if you’re not paying attention oh it’s a head that’s kind of cool

I wonder if there’s any like reasoning for it or if it’s just a fancy pants decoration i don’t see anything particularly interesting i’m kind of reluctant to just dig into the side of things like that i’m sure there’s probably something amazing and underneath it some kind of treasure or something but

We will pass on it for now i think we walked by a house over here let’s go see oh since we’re over here we should check for reeds i guess we’re in a good spot for him some more monument things it looks like there are some reeds we’ll take the

Reeds with us they’re mine oop it is becoming nighttime that’s just a decrepit house it looks like don’t really know if there’s anything important about these i saw a couple of these um in my other playthrough and they didn’t seem to have any importance but i can’t really say for certain that

That’s true we are going to want some sand later okay i wonder what’s up with this i’ve run across a couple of these two these are like there’s chunks of emerald here and there’s always chunks of emerald and there’s always clay in the one spot so it just makes me wonder what

What’s up with that i found garlic again i wonder where i keep picking that up but i got ended up with some garlic uh last time around too and i have no idea where i got it that is a spider tree we will come back to that and try and

Get that treasure at some point we’re not gonna do it in there is another or a note we’re not gonna do it right now because since it’s night time that spawner will be even more of a hell to deal with so winning sec we need to get rid of those for now

I’m not sure why i said the one quest gives you seeds i still don’t know what the purpose of that is oh crap i don’t know what this guy is living armor well he’s a living walking pushover that’s for sure i don’t think he even dropped anything other than experience

He might have it’s hard to know when you can’t see squat in the water and i don’t have room for it anyway now i think about it so it doesn’t matter oh reads bunch of reads okay we should have plenty of reads to continue our thalmacraft stuff so yay

Oh we have a wand crap i’ve been wasting all that okay so i’ve so your wand absorbs magic stuff and you can get little bits of it from killing mobs if you switch to it okay i’m actually just wanting to try and get out of here now at this point

And your wand will just do it automatically as you can see it’s actually picked up some of the it’s called the viz i believe something like that can we actually pull sleeping off we cannot that’s okay junk a bunch of this stuff because we don’t need it at this exact moment

And i didn’t pick any coal up go me okay we need paper we’ll just make the one bookshelf for now it will save the other books because we’ll we’ll want them at some point i’m sure i suppose i could have kept the extra paper that probably wouldn’t smart

So this is kind of neat so okay this is how you make your thaumanomicon right click it there we go and with that we can now turn the quest in they say the spirit can be found i’ve combined leather and paper with a bookshelf so clean the rewards

And with this one we actually get a reward satchel and ink sacks think sacks will be useful later uh for now we aren’t going to worry about any of these quests um we’ll be coming back to them soon enough oops oh that is not what i wanted i

Didn’t want to go that far out okay reward satchel let’s see what’s in there redstone that’s not bad actually okay i think our problem at the moment is we have it oh no ben is here not ben um um isaac so you see out there isaac from binding

Of isaac hangs out out here can spawn i found that out one day i was really hoping this house was big enough that if guys were on one side of it it wouldn’t matter but i guess we’re stuck waiting until morning so um let’s go ahead and maybe we can start

Working on some of this other stuff so one of the things i want to start working on is magic chores basically does a bunch of stuff with storage so clearing all those chests as an apprentice mage i’m probably going to be getting a lot of different items as i advance in power

I should probably spend some time creating a storage system so i don’t get buried under mountains of mystical items i’ve seen many mages use barrels they can store a hell of a lot of items in an incredibly small space the only catch seems to be that they can only handle

One type of item but it beats a mountain of wooden chests so we need to make a better barrel which i actually remember how to do amazingly enough have a chest already we want to hang on to that okay so first thing we need is we need some slabs

Do this and this and this and boom we have two of them now we’re gonna want them later i’m getting all this stuff now so craft a barrel claim reward got another reward satchel i need better barrels wow those barrels fill up fast thankfully i’ve heard that

You can add extra storage space to them to the barrels so they can store even more items i just need to upgrade the structural integrity of the barrel first so i can fit some upgrades in there once crafted i simply first have to shift right click on the barrel with the structural upgrades

Then with the storage upgrade so we need to make some of those but first we need to put a barrel down so here’s the basement we’ll put that one down we need that okay fence you can just do this over down here i’m sorry about the spider noises everybody

I can’t do much about it uh as we are kind of stuck stuck here at the moment and the gas noises i’m pretty sure come from uh isaac okay so there’s that so structural upgrade to we use iron ingots so we have to grab their ingots uh it’s the same thing

What the hell okay i’m not sure what i did there so we do the same thing basically mark two storage upgrade this is what we need the barrel for uh i don’t remember i have to actually look it up all i remember is it you have to have another barrel because you’re

Sticking a barrel inside a barrel oh we need pistons we have redstone we have everything we need to make them stupid spiders all right and with that we now have done all of that claim the reward we get a barrel hammer i have no idea what a barrel hammer is for

But uh let’s go ahead and upgrade this one because we just as well use it so you notice it does actually upgrade the outline of stuff which i thought was kind of cool so you’ll notice here when it’s empty you can have 128 stacks with uh this first storage upgrade on it

It’s just kind of bizarre uh so i don’t have anything that would be worth putting in there right now but uh basically this stuff is for a lot of your actual materials that will be used one thing about isaac he does not despawn um when the day comes he will despawn eventually but

You know what whatever you do what you want to do buddy honestly i don’t really want to kill him i just want him to leak quit freaking standing there freaking out is all i want okay let’s see oh yeah so for that we need to actually do so we need to

Start building um did he finally despawn no please go away i’d like to do some work but if he’s not despawning it’s going to be really annoying because i didn’t give myself a bow and i don’t made a bow and i think that’s pretty much the only

Way i could take care of him well hold on you know what we’ve got a little bit of time left before i want to end this episode let’s go ahead and check out some more of this to color dye or magical bird path it’s about time you learned how to

Manipulate the magics of the mystical flowers to start producing more complicated flowers and items to influence the world around you the crafting process of different flowers is traditionally done in a petal apothecary full of water the response of the petals and the seeds to the water suggests that you could probably

It could probably be conducted in any mundane puddle but why would we do why would you do that when the apothecary looks just so darn cool it’s like a magic bird bath or something pedal apothecary what do we need for that no that’s not too hard to make at all

Just need to get some more cobble and that’s something we can do so let’s grab some cobble i don’t know what the hell i’m doing with this ma i have not been able to mess at all with this particular specialization so i’m even more clueless with this one

I at least we’re getting close to the parts where i ran out of information on the thalmacraft stuff but we’re not quite there yet hopefully we will be away from the house long enough that isaac will despawn for us and i left the work bench down there because i’m a doofus

Okay so we need some slabs we didn’t have any pedals but we do now okay i think this is right the right way we have a pedal batonica wow that’s it claim reward the ladies moon you know what we should open these bags up what do we get

Melon seeds those will probably be useful i imagine more redstone that is also useful grab that real quick we’ll just leave that one on us i guess we’ll leave the one down in the basement in the basement was there some coal down here yeah and a spot that’s pain in the butt

To get too i do not think they can get up to us nope so that’s good to know we’re kind of safe up here then grab this coal we’ll go back and see if isaac has left the house yet zombie tried to swim in lava okay

There are special mobs in this game um obviously this is my modded minecraft and it wouldn’t be much of a modded minecraft game if there weren’t special mobs would it uh but i fee like you can get some really weird messages once in a while from that it’s kind of

Funny please be gone okay it looks like he he left thank goodness because that’s annoying okay let’s just so that’s is one of the things we’re gonna use we’ll put some more i’ll make some more barrels and we will be putting more stuff in it as we go

We’ll mess with this one again a little later okay so one of the big so we need to start making some other parts for the thaw mat the uh thaumaturge stuff famicraft oh i always tell them i need one more okay so there we go we’re actually going to put these up here

All right this is all stuff you don’t get quests for that i had to learn on my own basically so this is now an arcane crafting table and where is that at a research table so there we go we got that and that i got some coal because we’re gonna need

That to take care of that oops and we need these i think we need two pieces of gold for it we’re going to make um uh one of the major tools that you need for this and we can actually find it in the thmicon i think it is in

Yeah here we go we need the thou meter uh it’s gonna allow us to scan things basically it’s kind of fun to run around with actually i have enjoyed running around with it plenty keep that keep that we’re going to need to get some more paper together and some other stuff too

Because we need to make some more ink pens and stuff but we’ll do this boom so we now have the thou meter which we need to have then we need to do that oh i don’t have any feathers i bet nope okay i’m just going to let it kind of go
