Hey guys sorry and today i’m back with another video today i’m going to be showing you how to make some awesome mesa terrain so let’s just get started with it so basically the first thing you’re going to do is you’re going to get yourself a nice bit of terrain on The bottom layer just going to kind of be that sand layer kind of thing i’m going to be using go brush the cliff it doesn’t really matter what brush you use as just as long as it has a nice wide base um with a little bit of slope On the edge i’m going to use a fairly large size with a fairly high intensity the size is basically just the width of how far it’s gonna reach and then this and then the intensity is just basically how tall it is and that’s really all you have to worry about And then so basically just gonna spawn a few things right here doesn’t really matter too too much what we’re going to do is we’re going to go to one corner we’re going to do one go to the other corner fly up a little bit make sure that we’re over the Entire terrain and then do slash 2 and then just simply do a smooth um you can continue smoothing if you want um really up to you and not too complicated there now that we have a little bit of a base layer of terrain obviously i’m just it’s a very small Base layer of terrain you’d normally have it much larger than this but for the basics of this we’re not going to worry about it too much then what we’re going to do is we’re going to do br sphere 12 and then we’re going to do about a 3. um Basically this is the it just stands for brush you can even just do slash brush sphere is basically the shape that you want and then the 12 is the id of the block you can also just do sand sand if i can actually spell that right And then the three is just the size now if you wanted to use something like a diamond block which is the id of 57 then you wanted to have it uh act just like the sand does and then what you do is you’d have a minus f at the end of it And what that will do is that will just have the same effect where it’s a if a gravity affects it basically but for the most part you can just kind of do 12 and you don’t really have to deal with that at all make sure to when you Make sure when you’re before you make your pillars basically you want to do gmask oh my gosh can i spell um do celestial’s g mask and then zero that way you’re only affecting air so that you don’t mess up your terrain or your base layer of terrain too much And it’s just going to make things simpler on uh later down the road and then basically what you’re going to do is just click click click until you get yourself some nice spikes and stuff like that for the most part i just use my auto clicker to kind of speed this Process along generally i make some really tall ones generally i make some really short ones it is really just kind of dependent on you and kind of what you want and it’s it’s it’s not too complicated for the most part it’s pretty self-explanatory you just kind of Make what you want and how you want it generally i don’t make these too too big it’s just dependent on how you want your terrain to look and how advanced you want it if you want to make a bunch of spikes then you can do that if you want To make some more plateaus then you can also do that for the most part it’s just completely up to you for the most part i’m just going to do some nice spikes right here and not worry too too much about it now the next thing we’re going To do is we’re going to make sure that our bases are generally a little bit more secure so generally what i’ll do is i’ll just kind of come around and i’ll add a little bit more to some of these big ones so that it just gives a little bit More i don’t know something there it’s it’s kind of a personal preference kind of thing but it just kind of makes it so that the edge of the spike kind of just blends in to the terrain just a little bit more and it just looks a little bit nicer obviously i would generally Go back and smooth this out a little bit more for the most part but for tutorial purposes you don’t have to necessarily do that now the next step is basically just going into your thing and getting some terra cotta if i i don’t even know how to spell terra cotta so i’m just Going to go into the building blocks go all the way down to the um and then basically um get some terra cotta generally i i have a really bad habit of calling this harding clay because that’s usually what it’s what it used to be called um it’s not what it’s Called now so um forgive me if i accidentally called it hard and clay because that’s generally what i i’m so you know what i it’s just my brain is hardware to that uh but it is terra cotta and then basically what you’re going to do is you’re going to go Into a single spot and then you’re going to just start building up and then maybe add a little bit here there doesn’t really matter generally you just want to do one to two blocks sometimes you just add a little bit more and then it’s basically just going up Until you reach a point at which the height of this is going to meet and generally surpass the height of the thing so as you can see it’s definitely high enough and then we’re going to do is you’re going to select this entire thing with the slash wand go Down left click and then right click now that we have the entire thing selected we can use slash copy to put it into our clipboard then we’re gonna select the entire terrain uh that we’re going to affect just like this doing slash one and slash two and then basically we’re Gonna do is we’re gonna turn off our gmask and just by using gmask and then nothing behind it and then what we’re going to do is we’re going to place 12 and then hashtag copy and then you’re going to get this nice beautiful effect just like that super simple and super Easy um obviously if you want um what you can do is you can actually um let me undo like 10 or undo like 10. um so that i have a one maybe do undo 20. uh there we go now that all of that’s kind of gone All of the smoothing that i did there’s another way to do this to where it looks a little bit nicer so that’s probably i’m going to show you that option too so basically we’re going to do that and as you can see there’s going to be a pretty Hard layer now sometimes you just want this um but when you actually change the entire thing like specials replace one um into twelve one which is basically um the uh red sand that normally shows up in the mesa biomes or is it called the badlands Badland bad lands now um i don’t know i i just generally call it the mesa because it looks like the mesa if you’re unhappy with the texturing and painting then you can of course just go back and fix that if you’d like but for the most part i generally sometimes there’s i Just want the sand to kind of pile up a little bit more on the um on the pillars so what i will do is i will get myself um the go or the voxel brushes which is just gunpowder and an arrow then i’ll do slash b which stands For brush over which basically means that we’re basically just going to make an overlay over whatever we’re placing and then we’re going to do with the depth of two as you can see then we’re going to do a voxel stone which is basically just the id that you’re going To be using so if you did a diamond diamond block then that would be what you’re using but generally i would personally just stick to a stone because it’s the least buggy version then now that we have our voxel being stoned then we’re going to just do our size and They’re just really dependent now as you can see now it’s going up two blocks is because the depth is two if i did it two five and clicked then it would be five blocks high and it’s a pretty self-explanatory thing um i don’t really need to use the arrow but you can In other brushes you can but that’s not going to be what worrying about now the brush is too sm or too large so what we’re going to do is we’re going to decrease that and we’re going to also have to decrease the depth i’m just Going to take it down to two and then basically i’m just going to build up a little bit of a layer now if you did not do your proper thing in masking then you’re gonna have little bits of um thing to edit but if as long as you remember to Mask the terrain um when you’re placing your blobs and your you know your spikes up then this this process should be fairly easy you can even uh take your brush size down to one and only affect like one single block and you can kind of build your way up and stuff like that So it’s really dependent on how high you want your sand to go for the most part i don’t really care too much of course you can spend a bunch of time doing that if you want it to look really really good um but it’s not super super needed Necessarily and then what you’re going to do is just replace it one with 12 1 just like that and it’ll look fairly nice just like that you don’t have to worry too too much about it now if you wanted yourself a little bit more variation in your Terrain what you can do is you can go back to your gmask you can do forward slash and then a bracket and then zero d and then another bracket another bracket and then you can do like i don’t know 30 let’s do let’s do 20. uh 20 Might be a little bit too low but then basically what this does is it’s a degree brush where it’s only going to um replace a certain block on a certain degree so then we’re going to do slash replace 1 and then 41 to kind of see What that looks like as you can see that’s what it’s going to look like the larger the degree the more it does so if i did 30 and you can see that it would affect more as you can see right there and then what you Can do is you can kind of you can either just add more to that so let’s go replace 41 with 152 as you can see you can kind of make yourself a little bit more a variation in different types of terrain and stuff like that but I’m not going to really do that too too much i’m just going to replace the 41 which i’m going to turn off my gmask first and then replace 41 with 12 1 which is red sand and then what you can do is you can just leave this To basically be whatever you want so replace one 172 or something and that way it can kind of give you a little bit more variation on your terrain and things like that but for the most part it’s super simple to make yourself some nice mesa terrain and it’s not super super Complicated so hopefully you did enjoy watch this uh video and my playlist of all of my other tutorials if you’re looking to get better i have a difference cord that has nearly 250 people so if you want to join that and join that i’m always there actively helping people with their Building and i’ll see you guys later peace
