Maniac Max – Foundry! 🏭 Factory Minecraft! 🌞 #SteamNextFest! (DEMO)

Good day everybody it’s Max and welcome to the steam nextfest final year demo stream and you bet it’s going to be Foundry You Know It uh in this case Foundry is basically a factory Minecraft game that’s right you get random generated world and you get to build a

Factory on it now I always did say about satisfactory um satisfactory needed two things one was Blueprints and the other was random map generation now in 3D random map generation is very difficult uh so the way that Foundry has decided to present it is basically they’re doing a voxal

World right so a block world like Minecraft and then you build a factory on now there’s actually mods for Minecraft that actually kind of do this kind of uh uh well in much earlier Circles of Minecraft uh you could actually build these factories and automate things in Minecraft well

Foundry has taken that to the next step is what they’ve done so with that all the things before we get started a big thanks to recent subscribers as some of the names are going at the bottom of the screen but of course steam elements we’re just ignoring that but I do thank

Everybody for hitting the sub button uh of course to chat including Mr Johnson uh I appreciate the uh the visit as always and of course all those in all the time zones doing all the things I’m very appreciative of that uh I guess I can only say that so many times before

Sounds kind of weird whatever it’s fine it’s going to be fine uh listen you should hit the button boom look at that that’s right hey look sometimes I know what I’m doing and uh so I have never played the game I have never gone into

The demo I have no s I have no save um I’m I’m going to make a mess of it and that’s fine um I I was almost tempted not even to play the demo because I wanted to play it from a day one scratch when it got released but we’re gonna see

Lonie what’s up I hope it’s all good in the neighborhood you bet you oh it’s good to see you and uh so I was I was actually not going to play Foundry but uh I must admit um I think steam nextfest with having three uh having steam nextfest three times a year

They’re stretching themselves out a little thin because I went through a lot of games and I really wasn’t liking the looks of a lot of stuff right it’s all kind of I don’t know I’m a little concerned about the future people anyway so I decided what you know what we’re

Going to play The Foundry demo might as well at least check it out to do all the stuff and the things but I have not even all I did was start it and get it hooked into OBS so as we could start this I have not gone past this screen uh it

Looks great I mean this screen looks awesome we we’ll see what happens now right uh cuz that’s a thing okay so I guess new game uh I got random seed wow that’s going to be awesome um I still have the version that was released on uh it uh full game really uh

Because according to these guys it still hasn’t been released yet uh well I mean I’m looking forward to its release but I mean you know but uh this is the first thing uh I I I said what I think any any Factory game if you want a factory game

If you want a logistics Factory game to be successful you’ve got to have Blueprints and you’ve got to have random map generation that is why after almost 3/4 of a decade factorio is still considered to be the top tier of Factory games why it isn’t the most fancy

Graphics it isn’t it’s because people play it over and over and over and over again every single time to get a new map to build bigger factories on different Landscapes with different challenges it’s and and and they hand blueprints to make them factories even bigger right uh

So I am very excited to see how this goes uh I mean I I I can push this button a whole bunch of times it’s going to be great um there’s been some good CH changes since then I’m looking forward to the stream releas uh

Steam release yeah me too uh big time uh you know so we’re going to hit the start game uh hit the hit the random button like a little bit more I does any of these numbers look good I don’t know uh oh wow that was a really big number uh

That was a really small number uh I wonder what I wonder if like be ever pick like a really really small number like you know three right like would that do anything is it going to be really bad uh you know or like 42 cuz supposedly the answer of the universe or

Whatever right uh anyway never all right listen Max you can hit this button all day it’s not getting anywhere all right look no okay you know what we’re just going to hit hit start hit start it’ll be okay boom all right there we go right click on the machine your your inventory to

Build it uh without the need moving it to hotkey Bar first oh wow yes dropping the drop pod I love it searching for potential landing area initially planetary Landing oh nice operator I’m k your facility management artificial intelligence oh it talks to me my goal is to assist you in

Setting up a factory yeah let’s run a few basic checks before we get started okay open your map to check your surroundings okay oh you want me to fight figure that out all right fantastic there are several or patches in the vicinity equip your or scanner from the inventory and

Use it to locate the or patches uh what did oh use the or scanner um I don’t know what what would that be um oh equip the or scanner uh is a thing uh sure Dory says um well that’s look Landing like do you guys you got

Stuff in the sh spaceship for me uh oh customized character oh cool uh that’s not going to help you uh let’s go to V I mean current targets Rocky desert uh tablet and quick actions learn more about the tablet uh press F1 to open the database page oh cool

Um the tablet can be used to inspect objects uh provide stuff quickly uh oh okay uh preferred seed preferred seed is always 8675309 nice um 8675309 okay uh B for inventory uh look on the lower right oh okay well I I was actually going to push all them letters

Because like f looks familiar like some of these letters look very satisfactor but some of them are a little off right I would have pushed all the letters eventually uh cuz that’s a thing uh let’s go to B uh so um scanner equipable okay cool all right so if I go to

Two yes uh use the scanner press f2 for detailed information oh okay uh okay use the or scanner once you have the scanner equipped you need to click the left Mouse button to perform a scan all right let’s go let’s go uh scan use the get started approach both

Of the or patches and mine some more oh wow look at that oh yeah uh all right I’m assuming I have to go to one for that uh you look like iron ore a yeah look at that boom baby yes uh now is that just going into my

Inventory already or am I like do I got to run around and collect this stuff uh yes it is going to in my inventory oh cool all right I I like that cuz you know yes look at that uh yeah Jamie what’s up I hope it’s all good in the neighborhood oh yeah

Well I mean you know Factory game I mean Factory games you know are Factory games right uh you know yes I I’ll make it half a mess of it uh but I mean cuz every game’s got to try and be someone different and every game you know how it

Is right right uh okay so where was that other one uh it is this way right there look at look at me using the map to find the resources look at the world this is awesome and just think we can get random different worlds every time oh my goodness I am already so

Excited uh did I pass it already probably yes you went you ran right by it like dude uh oh there it is uh go back here here uh this looks I guess the same or the different okay y this is is this what we

Want uh of course the uh one of the big challenges will be to to to gauge distance right cuz every every game is different and like so like when I ran over here I thought I had to actually run further to find it uh so gauging uh

What I would call a map scale what was the distance between there and there right I expected that to actually be a little farther away but it was actually very close so uh it’s just something you got to get used to yes look at that boom oh yeah great now that we have

An initial supply of ore we need to smelt it into plates and rods oh yes go back to your drop pod and use the built-in smelters to create your first crafting materials woohoo a and the shift key allows you to run faster nice uh oh look at that um

Yes uh is that oh look at this uh uh yes and oh okay so I guess I can stick it on each I can uh oh look at that boom there we go smelting things yes uh so in the upper right hand corner it says I’m smelting stuff I like

It I’m making rots uh 186 18 all right so it’s two ore for one rod okay and what about you my friend 99 two uh two ore for one plate okay okay I will take those I will take these yes look at me go materials available we should start crafting

Building blocks which act as a foundation for other buildings to do so you need to open the crafting menu and click the desired items then place them in the shape of a platform next to one of the or patches okay cool uh uh craft 25 building blocks and then put the building blocks

Next to an or deposit oh yeah he says uh you bet uh building blocks uh craft recipe plate recipe uh com structures you think it’s structures no components Machinery Parts Noe handhelds nope metalurgy no uh I uh craft recipe well that that’s not a building block oh there du

Um okay that you didn’t make enough you’re you’re a bum you got to craft 25 dude you got to go back and mine more stuff all right well go get some more stuff uh I know right I thought that was an Aussie accent I was like is Jamie

Talking in the game now what’s going on here right uh take that take those uh okay uh go to crafting uh we’ll have okay and we’ll craft again all right a yes he crafted 25 blocks uh go to your inventory dude uh put them things in

Your uh just put them in nine for now uh go to nine boom okay uh let’s see how well we do with this shall we uh no uh can I get out of that for a second no uh how do I deselect all right good uh yeah like it wouldn’t let me

Walk sideways or anything I was like no no no I I want to walk sideways uh can I do that yeah there we go uh nine okay uh uh so all right yeah uh 1 three four five four five so that’s uh 5x five that’s 25 that’s what it wants

Boom to automate or extraction we need to set up a drone Miner craft one and place it on top of your foundation right next to the or patch okay uh drone Miner uh sure I guess that’s it right and it’s it is it pre- making all

The other things I need neat I guess so right so that’s it’s kind of like it’s kind of like in uh satisfactory like I don’t need to make all the tools okay cool what does that remind me of it’s not satisfactory but um what game is it where it actually cues up all

The little components and then does the big components is it satisfactory I don’t think so yes it is satisfactory cuz like when you like for example if you make like or or no it’s factorio in factorio when you craft uh like a like if you craft a item X and it needs like

Three copper wire and a bunch of stuff it will craft all them components in the in the bar before it sees it yeah that’s what we’re doing uh yeah that’s there’s a factorio thing for you uh we’ll take that uh so I put this thing on top of

This thing and that’s what’s going to happen Okay I mean it looks really cool 43 minable blocks are in range yes drone Miners and most other buildings require power to function okay let’s build a biomass generator on the same Foundation as the Drone Miner once built you need to harvest some plants

And trees with your mining drill to collect biomass insert the biomass into the generator and it will start to power all buildings on the same Foundation as the generator no biomass biomass burners a I curse them things in satisfactory okay fine biomass um all right structures uh drone Miner

Create building blocks biomass burner recipe uh you need more stuff dude uh let’s go get more stuff yay us um okay uh I’m going to make I’m going to get a little more of this you do yes oh yeah go go boy drill away yeah I’m going to be very happy

I mean you might as well I mean if I got to run back to the spaceship and collect stuff I might as well take stuff over right I mean it’s all early game it’s all early game stuff it’s same in every Logistics game you have to run around

You got to mine stuff uh I’m a bum because I’ve gone in the wrong direction again where’s the other one boy I’m really bad at this Direction stuff I’ll get better at it here shortly uh yeah might as well might as well grab some here Nice yes give me all the stuff you know what I always amazes me all the different names that come up for or right you know like every game like what am I mining I’m mining aeno ferite all right you couldn’t call it copper no you didn’t want to call it copper right

What about that over there why could you call that iron right I mean that would have made perfect sense no Zeno faite is what I’m mining I’m like why do they do why do they do that Simplicity I’m all about Simplicity but no anyway it’s fine uh we just need

To go for point8 o b and we can go to D you bet I know right by uh I know nightbot I know uh insert that take those take that all right uh I keep hitting the tab key because of course that’s another game that I do um push

That uh we’ll build one biomass burner now while it’s building that I got to drill plant life boom oh yeah okay we create uh yes biomass wow this B m is really tough it’s like takes a little bit to take it down like this is quick this is quite

The uh this is quite the strong biomass okay there we go uh I don’t know how much um collect 20 from vegetation oh I’m collecting a lot more than 20 you know we’re going to need like 4,000 biomass before we get into like Coal Fire something like that right so come

On let’s let’s be realistic people you know we ain’t going to just be able to survive on 20 biomass whatever there we go 150 biomass that’s what I’m talking about uh now you need to um go to your inventory and put that oh look we got new stuff that’s

Biomass look instead of teamore why couldn’t they call it iron just call it iron it’s I mean it’s iron right it’s iron whatever uh okay seven let’s do this uh oh it’s only a one by one nice uh rotate boom boom boom uh I wonder how

Close this has to be does it probably have to touch it maybe all right well we’ll put that down uh oh look at this enabled shut down offline manage inventory uh you know what’s uh okay can I no I missing fuel I know I I well okay

Know how I know how to play a factory game it’s the way it is it’s all about the it’s all about that uh okay uh one two three four five four five right boom look at that you almost think I knew what I was doing sometimes uh okay now I

Of Factory games people y I mean it’s like you’re the salt of the earth or the salt of whatever Planet I’m on cuz it’s a random generated Planet baby you bet uh insert that yes inserts inserts uh take plates yeah take it uh take that okay uh

Craft the smelteries uh you can click the up Arrow to take all the or oh could I oh okay cool well we’ll you know what let’s go test that right out uh so if I just uh um oh I see I maybe I should have

Turn that one sideways too huh uh so if I you mean if I just like hit the up arrow and it oh I see yep yeah I see how it works yeah I was much more smarter with this one I I I turned all the things the

Same way and stuff too that all right so but again first time playing learning experience right I mean it’s what it’s all about yes guys drill all the things doing a great job guys uh all right so this is good this is good uh so uh insert stuff insert more stuff boom uh

Let’s have a look at that inventory uh yeah only got three left here we’ll just stand here for a minute and then there do that all right uh you want to take them plates or them rods oh yeah take those take them uh okay so you want me to build uh a a

Smelter do I need like foundations for that I would think I would right uh cuz I mean I can’t see him not wanting me to put these on foundations that’s a drone Miner uh let’s uh let’s let’s let’s build uh 30 of those just in case they

Want me to put this thing somewhere um okay now go ahead uh and be cool and build a smelter for these guys uh one small smelter okay boom yeah so it’s making wire and then it’s making whatever this stuff is right and now it’s making some other

Things and now it’s actually making the smelter there we go so silver what’s up I hope it’s all good in the neighborhood uh when is the next live infraspace uh what is this uh this is Tuesday uh I think it is Thursday might be might or might be

Tomorrow uh you know what let me check let me check uh I’ll I will check for you um T is push buttons Max uh you know I have to push the buttons offline off here on my other monitor so it just takes me a few seconds just taking me a few seconds

Uh it is tomorrow uh tomorrow is uh tomorrow is going to be infr space and Saturday uh so tomorrow’s INF for space uh is going to be we’re going to take that Cube uh now that we’ve got that Cube running I’m going to tear it apart

Uh I’m actually going to break it down into new smaller cubes uh so I want to take the buildings that are there we’re going to stretch that all apart it should be uh pretty intense because I’m sure I’ll blow up most of the city when

I do it that’s how that works you beta uh that’s how it’s going to be uh no problem man I I appreciate the comment I really do uh even when I’m lost and looking foolish uh but hey I’m not doing too bad today I actually like am not too

Um like I can can I shut it down uh grid status what’s that oh uh oh okay never mind uh that’s not it uh um like I’d like to be able to move this stuff at some point in time uh dois oh f is that what I do oh look at that

Demolition mode oh of course it is down the lower right hand corner it’s got a big wrecking ball on it uh contrl F to switch to bulk demolition no I just wanted I just want to I I don’t want to De demolition it well I do but

Um okay so that one is actually okay I just want to take Mr 7even here turn him rotate rotate rotate there we go now I want to put the smelter uh right in behind it uh is my is my goal here right uh you got to put fuel in that um

Yepe yeah Miss I know you’re missing fuel uh there you go you’re not missing fuel anymore you’re good um oh machine’s full take that uh you probably shouldn’t have took that you dummy you’re going to put a smelter on here in about 30 seconds ah whatever it’s fine it’s fine

All right uh small smelter small uh requires Foundation let’s throw that sucker on there uh um now oh I see this has X’s uh yeah now why do I think that’s important well anytime you ever see the letter like x’s on something see these little doors I can imagine these little doors means

That stuff comes out and I’ll bet you this thing has little doors that Mak stuff go in so before we do that uh I am going to do this yeah we’re preparing for the future what the future I know it’s pretty intense uh so uh rotate rotate rotate now I

Actually want this panel to the back because I probably I’m going to have to move that again I think uh sure uh you know what let’s just do this the simple way do it that way look at that the smelter is more efficient than the inbuilt drop pod smelter so you

Should start using this from now on yeah you think another benefit is that we can automate the smelters to make our life easier yes for this you need to connect the Drone Miner to a smelter by using loaders and conveyor belts loaders and conveyor belts now we’re talking uh

Listen whoa no no no no no we don’t want to destroy it uh I want to look I want you to do this uh input that yeah there you go do that uh okay now we’re talking loaders and conveyor belts uh I wonder if I left myself enough room to do this

We’re going to find out uh uh so conveyor belt recipe one boom where’s the loaders at conveyor slope recipe one uh loader uh all right I need two of those all right uh I’m assuming it’s doing things uh let’s go to backpack so you made you made belt you

Made a loader ah yeah sure he did he says uh no rotate uh I want you to do that and look watch my skill set oh really oh that’s going to be a pain I didn’t realize they needed such a big thing um all right that means I got to move

Belt I’m trying to be very simplistic with this first one just so as I can see how they work right so four you shove out and rotate rotate you shove in okay uh that’s that’s how it works it beams it out it beams it in okay cool uh

I I got it um it’s doing it so good that yes it is working uh let’s manage that inventory uh cuz I’d like to actually not hold all that in my inventory uh you know what um is there a way to split that destroy item Auto sort I suppose

These working at the same time we’ll take those uh I’m assuming this over here is all done right so we should try to at least uh empty this out for now we’ll take that back to this ship and now we’ll make another smelter and we’ll start we’ll start making things all happen

We’re going to make things happen boom all right uh so we need a lot more stuff let’s let’s be realistic people we need more things uh should sure like let’s make some foundations all right like let’s not mess around uh we know we need foundations uh we know we need belts uh

So let’s just do that uh one two at least two of those for now uh we are going to need uh a smelter and as already we’re starting to run out of stuff uh oh of course you are uh because now you’re now you’re now you’re really playing the game yikes uh

Okay yikes he says um yeah take stuff yep thank you uh and I keep hitting that Tab Key and switching that around I must admit I actually do like that option just hitting the Tab Key to switch the bar Ah that’s so nice I wish you could do that

Like it’s control I think it’s control most wheel or something like that and satisfactory drives me crazy but anyway um burner status 42 um xerium ore yeah I well I I don’t want the ore we’re going to we’re going to actually put down a we’re going to

Put down a thing uh and I now realize that this is probably in the wrong direction uh but that’s all right that’s why we made all these boom that’s right so we’re going to do this and we’re going to drag that back here boom just like that uh now we’re

Going to have like real production stuff uh are we yeah oh yeah that’s how this is going to happen uh let’s not get too crazy now um okay so uh we want to put stuff out onto the belts uh rotate rotate rotate boom uh now uh we want to get you

Set up my good friend and and rotate rotate this way uh this is actually going to be a little tricky because I got to make this even wider but that’s all right we’ll make we’ll make this happen for now um rotate rotate boom tra you do

That uh look at that you used up all them foundations already I know right like that lasted like a whole 4 seconds uh so well I mean this is what this this is what building is is all about people um you know I mean we were mass production

That’s you know my my first goal of mass production is to mass produce foundations and get smelting up and running to a larger extent uh so that’s what we’re doing I will take that thank you run over here we’ll grab that hey it’s daytime nice over here automation is awesome thank

You uh yeah uh push uh c yeah or that that button let’s make some real foundations no more messing around No More Mr Nice Guy uh okay uh so I would like to fix this one up over here first slightly neglected uh I would like to

Fix this one up and have it working right uh so we’re going to do This that uh you’ll need a little bit more than that probably one more row at least um 708 yes there we go um Yep looks good uh oh yeah I I uh 18 uh 20 conveyor belts oh yeah I’m I’m actually going to work on task but now I’m I’m doing the

Same thing I do with all kind of factory games um the task list is is important don’t get me wrong uh but I mean if I’m able to make out lots of stuff uh I might as well do that too so I’m just going to

Make a few more of these and a few more miners yeah cuz that’s important I really I I kind of messed this up a little bit I am going to fix this too I’m going to fix all of it now what yeah yeah I’m fixing all of it

Now right I mean we might as well fix all of it uh yeah now that I know how this works now now I want all the things uh yep it is what happens see Factory building this is what happens people all right you learn a few mechanics the next thing you know you’re

Tearing your whole Factory apart like three times uh it is it’s a sad it’s a sad story it’s just a sad story uh okay so uh yes we want drones we want lots of drones and then we want those drones to feed their items out onto this belt

Here okay uh and then we’re going to turn that this way is that how that’s going to work no it didn’t like that uh all right well we’ll just yep really I got to push I got to push the button for that all right that’s fine uh

Go back to this uh rotate rotate rotate that’s it now what we want to do is we want to run down here like this and then rotate this way oh yeah see now it’s just I mean it’s just getting more complicated by the minutes uh okay now uh now we’ve done

That y might as well move you right right uh and then we’ll put uh we’ll turn that this way put that this way and then the outbound of this will be this line later cuz you know they’re going to want an outbound on that right I mean

That’s a given uh so we’re going to put that there put that there so I’m assuming the the foundation plates are like electricity controlled so I don’t have to put this thing attached to anything I can just put this over here in the corner and and then it should work is

What I would think uh so if I want to go manage inventory like that yeah so everything just works um and just to make this my life a lot easier do that uh I’ll put the other 22 in the spaceship yeah and see these guys are now going to start mining that’s great

Yeah see oh man this is now now now we’re building a factory people yep now we’re building a factory uh so uh we’ll insert just that just to use the uh I do like this little uh setup uh because I can just come over here to the spaceship drop off extra

Material every once in a while and it’s like yeah whatever just get it out of my inventory look at this this is going to be awesome uh so yeah we’ll just uh put that down here yeah so this will be my line of smelters I’m going to set up a

Second a second thing eventually I think we’ll see how many smelters each line can hold but uh let’s go back over to this guy um yeah go to one you know what you’re going to need this you should try and smoke biomass whenever you can Max because you know these things are

Going to need biomass really soon right um yeah like they’re getting a little on the fuel so I can actually move that guy uh and we and I might do so in a bit uh this actually this setup here isn’t too bad I can put the second minor or the

Second um drone uh bay right here feed it onto the belt and then yeah so this one’s actually I set this one up just a little bit nicer when I actually did but again this this shows you the the the difference in lesson right uh once you

Kind of get a grip on things you can kind of start setting up factories the way you need to set up factories oh yeah that’s a thing uh listen what do you what did you just say Max I know drill biomass yeah this stuff isn’t going to run

Forever okay everything’s fine uh so what what what are you going to do now well I’m going to get I’m going to make a second I’m going to make SEC two another smelter I’ll make two smelters for each of these things and then then we’ll continue on with the task

List and we’ll even fill up the gas tanks in these little biomass burners now I don’t know what the output of the biomass burners is I’m sure they have a limitation right just like the uh it’s I’m assuming the biomass burners are going to be just like uh the ones in

Satisfactory um you know that you can only use like you can’t hook the whole world up to a little botom ass burner right I’m sure this thing’s got like a panel on it somewhere saying yeah current output’s 104 KW maximum output is 600 um so uh I can I can probably

Throw down another machine here uh it’s not going to hurt it any so we can do that uh I’ll have two of those please uh uh I also need two of those uh because that’ll be a thing um sure close that uh let’s fill up the biomass burners uh there you go

Nice um yeah it’s yeah oh yeah it’s an early game thing right yeah it’s just like satisfactory right I mean we we don’t want to stay on biomass too long but at the same time yeah you have to be on it for a little bit not much you can

So let’s see what we need for science packs a science pack needs 10 Machinery parts and eight techum rods well we make the rods already they’re right over there um Machinery Parts comes from plates so xenoir plates turn into Machinery parts and we make the rods over there in

Raw format so to get the blue science right so yeah take that away from it dude right these are rods in raw in raw format yes nice that’s what we want we like that in fact can I have 189 of them rods I I want them

Rods give me the rods uh and take that extra stuff put your inventory right that’s fine um I I mean I I might as well carry a few extra rods and a few extra plates until I actually get going on what it is I’m doing here

Um okay uh y give me that boom something like that all right uh so now but these I need to turn these plates into something so we actually need to make assemblers uh on this platform uh this is the platform that needs the assemblers uh so nine and this is what I was
