Hello everybody welcome back to another video in this video i’m going to show you how to create a custom background as you can see i have right here in minecraft now if you like minecraft tutorials like this one please make sure to leave a like and subscribe to the channel for more Minecraft videos so currently i have a minecraft drip stone cave as my background for the main menu and i will show you how to create this for a lush cave but this will work for any minecraft scenery you have you want to make your minecraft background And so i’ll lead you to the whole process of creating this sadly this is only possible for java edition it’s possible for pretty much all versions because i made a tutorial on this in dutch for 1.8 and then it already worked so it’s still working in 1.17 so that’s amazing to see And i will show you how to create this during this video and so the first thing you need to do is actually change something in your launcher so let’s go over to the launcher so here we have the minecraft launcher and what you want to do Is go over to your installations and to the version you’re playing on so i’m playing on the latest snapshot currently so go over to edit over here and then down here change the resolution to 10 24 10 24 or 5 12 5 12 or just make it square That’s the most important part so i set it to 1024 1024 it just needs to be square so once you’ve done that you can save and start up minecraft and now when you start minecraft it should look something like this very square and this is needed to create the Custom background so now let’s go into a world and let’s find a nice spot for this custom background i think this might very well work yes it’s a very nice open area of course you don’t have to be doing this with a cave it can be up in a mountain or Wherever you want to create this custom background so now let’s open up f3 and we will teleport to our current coordinates let’s also make sure we’re centered by adding 0.5 over here also make sure to actually type a name or add a whatever in front here because otherwise We can’t do this so then our current height is about five and then six or seven point five afterwards type zero zero for the rotation so where we’re facing and now right now we’re facing completely into one direction yeah we’re facing completely south right now and so now we need to make sure That the pictures line up so we’re gonna take six pictures of the area one to the west south east and north and one up and one down and with these six pictures we’re going to create the custom background so first of all we need to make sure that these pictures actually line up And this can be done by using this first command so that’s 0 0 and then alternating it with 0 90 because this makes you look directly at the floor and now at the top line we need to make sure that they connect up so we see Two azalea trees and one above it and so once we go back to facing forward we should see one of these three azalea trees so if you look down a little bit there we go those are the three azalea trees and so the fov you’ll need is around 80 82 but please play around with it and see if it actually lines up for you that’s very important it could be way different for your case but 80 generally works so now we’ve lined up these two images we can start actually taking the screenshots so firstly you’ll need to teleport over to -180 Then take a screenshot go to -90 0 take a screenshot there go to 0-0 take another screenshot then to 90-0 take another screenshot and then go to minus 180 minus 90 that’s looking up taking a screenshot and then minus 180 90 looking down and taking another screenshot now i’ve taken six Screenshots of course make sure you press f1 so it looks the best and if you’re in the cave night vision will definitely help out as well so if anything worked out we should have taken six screenshots here so let’s see one two three four five six yes so let’s now go Over to these screenshots so if you want to go to your screenshots folder just type in percent app data percent at the top over here enter go over to minecraft and then go down to screenshots now i have a couple of screenshots in here So let’s go all the way down all the way at the bottom we should see our six screenshots they have a different aspect ratio as well because we changed the resolution so here are the six different screenshots of the different angles and now we need to rename these So the first one you’ve taken you should rename to panorama underscore zero now i would recommend copying over panorama underscore because the other ones are gonna be panorama one two three four and five so it’s just gonna be in order in which you’ve taken them so panorama zero then rename this one To a panorama one the next one to panorama two panorama three panorama four and lastly panorama 5. now we’ve renamed all six images you can select all of them and cut them now create a new folder of course this is all in dutch for me But it will be the same for you and we call this the lush caves so this will be whatever your resource pack is going to be called so lush cave is going to be the name of this resource pack enter and go in here then we will add another new folder called assets In there we will create once again another new folder this time called minecraft in minecraft once again another folder called textures within textures there’s gonna be the folder gui then within gui there’s gonna be the folder title and finally within title we will add another new folder called background and then within this Background folder we will add our pictures so ctrl v and there are our six pictures let’s now go back to screenshots and let’s put this lush cave where it belongs and that is in the resource pack folder so let’s cut it go back to minecraft and then go over to Resource packs over here and here we will paste in lush cave as you can see drip stone cave is here as well which is already showed you at the start of the video and then if you already have any other resource packs this is going to be pretty easy because you’ll need Two files or actually just one file and that is the pack.mcmeta file so let’s grab the one from over here and let’s put it into lash cave so right here we will add pack.mcmeta and so if you don’t have this one just download a different resource pack And copy that pack dot mc meta over from the resource pack into this one now we need to open it so just grab a notepad and put in this pack.mc meta and in here you will see this so pack format and description and we’ll need to change the description To the name of your resource pack so in this case this will be lush cave and then we do file save and we can exit from that now this is pretty much done but we can also add a beautiful picture for this resource pack you will see on The resource pack list which would make it more easily identifiable so i like to just get one of the panorama pictures as the main picture as well so let’s grab this one this one resembles the lash caves very well so just copy this one and go back to life’s cave Paste it over here and then rename it into pack enter and now we’ve done all we need to and we can get back into minecraft so let’s switch over from this horrible mode back to a normal minecraft resolution there we go that’s a whole lot better now let’s exit Out to the main menu we have the drip stone cave back here and let’s see if we’ve worked it out and if we didn’t make any mistakes mistakes are very easy to be made in this process so make sure you followed everything exactly correctly from the tutorial Let’s see resource packs we should see yes down here we have lush cave it has a name it has a beautiful picture next to it as well of the large cave so it’s you can easily see which one it is if you don’t do this there will just be This cobblestone texture you see up here so let’s use it there we go yes that works just fine let’s remove the drip stone cave now done and we should see the lush cave as our main custom background so done and there it is there is the lush cave Rotating around and that’s how to change your main menu background in minecraft java edition now i hope you enjoyed this video and if you did please make sure to leave a like and subscribe to the channel for more minecraft videos like this one if you have any more To create a custom background for the minecraft main menu, first you will need to change the resolution of your game to a square resolution, then you need to line up the following two images: /tp @p X.5 Y Z.5 0 0 /tp @p X.5 Y Z.5 0 90 Then you need to take 6 screenshots at the following angles: /tp @p X.5 Y Z.5 -180 0 /tp @p X.5 Y Z.5 -90 0 /tp @p X.5 Y Z.5 0 0 /tp @p X.5 Y Z.5 90 0 /tp @p X.5 Y Z.5 -180 -90 /tp @p X.5 Y Z.5 -180 90 Then you need to create a resource pack with these six images where you add them to assets, minecraft, textures, gui, title, background. Then by adding a pack.mcmeta file and a pack picture you get the custom background! Thank you to my tier 2 and tier 3 members! DeSmikkelaar – https://youtu.be/o-pWI4T_6Lc
