Mind-Blowing PS5 VR Tests: Star Wars, Skyrim, Blood, and More

So greetings cornerinos and welcome to a very special live episode of ian’s vr corner because after a week of like well it won’t it my psvr camera adapter finally arrived which means i can play playstation vr on play ps5 uh if you don’t know what i’m talking about the playstation

5 is compatible with the playstation vr but you need a camera adapter the back of the camera has a special um plug it’s kind of like a usb cable adapter but it’s not um so you have to get this connection adapter that turns it into usb

Which you can then plug into the back of your playstation 5 and then it allows you to play all of the playstation vr games in your collection um setting up the playstation 5 uh the psvr on playstation 5 was incredibly easy uh if you’ve set it up on the

Playstation 4 you know exactly what to do uh the only thing i’d say that is a little bit of a problem is you need um a couple of free usb slots you need a usb slot for the camera and you need a usb stop for the uh the box the power box

The processing unit for the psvr and that takes up two of the three usb slots in the ps5 which leaves you enough room to charge one controller so you know if you’re worried about um usb slots you may need to pre-charge controllers before you start doing uh playstation 5 uh psvr

But apart from that it’s nice and easy and i have downloaded um four or five of my favorite psvr games to try out for you today one of them is star wars minecraft now i love minecraft on psvr and recently a star wars dlc came out which recreates all the scenes that

You’ll remember from the star wars movies plus stuff from the mandalorian as well so i think i’m going to check out that one for the longest maybe i’ll um do a whole hour of that from 3 p.m to 4 p.m because i just love i love vr minecraft and um i love star

Wars so this is a good uh so it’s a good combination for me hits all my buttons um but there are a few other games i want to try out as well i’m going to start with blood and truth because blood and truth got a psvr ps5 ready upgrade

Now according to upload vr um the uh the game has been updated to support 4k frames per second on the ps5 itself um they say here obviously the psvr headset is not capable of 4k visuals but this boost to the native resolution performance and everything else will result in a much sharper clearer

And more detailed image inside the headset whether or not that’s gonna be apparent to you lot watching the share screen i don’t know if you’re not familiar with how um streaming playstation vr works what it does is it takes the um this pipes two video images basically

One for each eye and it takes one eye image and then it shows it on screen it’s a little bit more squarer than normal widescreen stuff and because it’s only showing one image uh the resolution on the share screen is quite low and it looks lower on this

Share screen than it does in vr because you’ve got two images and your eyes are like turning at 3d and stuff so um it still may look fuzzy and um not super sharp on the share screen i don’t know i’ve not tested it yet but um i will let

You know how it looks inside the headset um hopefully you’ll be able to see it running a bit smoother although this stream is only in 30 frames per second so uh you won’t see it running in 90 frames per second properly but yeah we’re going to try out that going

To try out some skyrim vr going to fuss road rhoda lydia a bit i guess i’m going to try out no man’s sky as well i was really excited to try out no man’s sky because i thought the ps5 version of no man’s sky would work with psvr but it doesn’t

Um you have to play the ps4 version of no man’s sky so while there is a ps5 version of no man’s sky that is not playstation vr compatible you have to load the playstation 4 version instead so whether or not there’ll be much difference there

Um well it’ll be it will remain to be seen because the playstation 5 update of no man’s sky has added loads of extra detail and stuff to the world um i’m hoping because i love no man’s sky psvr but it’s very very blurry so i’m hoping that the power of the playstation 5

At least makes images a little bit crisper um stuff at a distance and things so um yeah uh and is i wasn’t gonna try anything else minecraft blood and truth no man’s sky skyrim i think that’s all i’ve downloaded actually so um those are the ones i’m gonna do

Uh i’ll do the first hour with blood and truth no man’s sky and skyrim and then a nice hour of exploring minecraft star wars hello to all 353 people watching right now including my brother who says eeon neil’s got a um he’s got a playstation vr as well

So uh he’s probably interested to see how this work works i sent him the link to the um to the playstation uh page basically there is i can’t find the link now but there is a um a place you can go on the playstation website and all you need is the serial number

For your playstation vr you enter that in put your um name and address in and then they send you a free adapter it’s only you can only do one per um i don’t know if it’s one per household or one per unit i’m gonna guess it’s one per unit because it’s one per

Uh you know barcode or whatever but uh that takes between three to six days to deliver i saw a lot of people getting their sent really quickly which is why i panicked mine took exactly six business days to turn up and so i was like he’s gonna turn up in time he’s gonna

Turn up in time but it did now i oh hey thanks for super chat some guy sitting down he says hey ian and chad nice to have my breakfast with all of you well it’s wonderful that you could join us uh some guys sitting down thank you so much

For supporting the channel with a super chat um because each game is different there may be some audio level issues so as per usual with these uh psvr streams i will play the first five minutes and have a look out into the comments just to make sure that the levels

Are all good so if the game is too loud or too quiet let me know and i will adjust as and when i need to now uh not only do i have my playstation 5 controller plugged in i also have my twin move controllers here they control

The menu exactly the same way as they do on the playstation 4 you know i always find this a little bit fiddly to do you always kind of overshoot where you want to go but it’s not bad you know it works perfect if you’re used to throwing controllers on the floor if

You’re used to how it works on the playstation vr on the playstation 4 even you will know exactly how that works i’m going to load up blood and truth i’m going to try and put this playstation 5 logo so it appears behind my head and not over my head

There we go and then we’re going to play some blood and or truth mainly blood we might get some truth as well but who knows uh this game has had a few updates since it came out uh including new game plus and i think i’m going to try

New game plus i might as well start from the beginning see how it goes play like the first level or two uh it’s already caught past four actually uh quarter past two actually so i need to crack on uh if i’m going to do all four of these

But yeah so allegedly this is running 4k 90 frames per second on the playstation 5. um we’re only on the menu at the moment but already the writing uh does look it looks sharper than it did before the writing on this the the the menus on this has always looked pretty swish to

Be honest but i do know that the um no man’s sky always looked very blurry especially the writing and things so cinematic and easy mode let’s go normal on new game plus confirm your selection yeels hey knight cat how are you doing hope you’re feeling a bit better

Here we go so i’m set at the table my name is ryan marks and my hands are on backwards ah so looking at things in close detail it is quite apparent to me that there is a lot sharper image hi um so the playstation vr doesn’t have the most high resolution headset so

Still things in the distance are a little bit blurry but it really does look i’ve had better days a lot more detailed i can see like much better skin texture on them uh this guy whose name i can’t remember on my hands as well there’s come almost see some paws on the hands

Nice shiny table with like really detailed scratching work in it it definitely looks um it definitely looks better we need a bit of action before we can tell how smooth it is though is there a way i don’t think i can skip this i think i’ve gotta

Just hang around in here and listen to this guy in a [ __ ] room having a go at me for a bit stop having to go what do you know what do you know what do you know how’s the audio looks pretty decent what looks nice is crooked vulture

I have a feeling that this one is gonna be the one that really looks good out of all of them i think the others are gonna maybe have some improved load times but yeah this looks this looks way nicer this definitely has a marked increase in visuals over the playstation

Zero four wait for close air support the distant buildings are more detailed telling you we need to extract now even these incidental bits of scenery seems a little bit like there’s more detail going on there okay let’s get going walking i’m walking there we go so if you’re not familiar

With this game this game is made by london studios sony and uh it’s kind of like an on rails uh adventure which i was kind of against at first i was like oh i don’t really like on rails things in vr how am i doing this there we go um

I wanna you know i wanna be i don’t wanna feel restrained in vr i wanna feel like i’m living in a virtual world i don’t wanna be held on by a leash but honestly how are we doing that i’m shooting myself i’m not reading the instructions

Trying to chat if i hold it it’s very dark in here oh there i was not putting in the right place so i shot myself in the shin a load uh i can’t know what to say now but yeah like this is actually um considering it is on rails af it is actually

A really fun game to play it it feels like you’re in your kind of very own james bond movie um and having you know set places to go doesn’t really matter too much because this is it’s kind of like a narrative experience yeah there we go

How do we pop out can we pop out a cover i can never remember i think i’ve got to stay that down at the moment Come here buddy did they get you okay got them right at the end there oh no i didn’t where’s that site there it is that’s it pop right in the head okay he’s dead let’s keep going yeah really um i really feel like there is a huge improvement here to the visuals

Nice you don’t you can shoot get uh grenades that are flying towards you in flat games but there’s something about doing that in vr that makes things feel very intense indeed i hate it i’ve got any more ammo there it is all right let’s have all that okay let’s keep going

That’s what you get that’s what you get for messing with me [ __ ] just double check audio’s okay no one’s saying anything so with those uh grenades as well you can catch them in midair and throw them back which is also very cool i can pick that long okay i can pick

That up oh tools tools so this is this is quite like um in the same way that astro bot is a uh uh astros playroom is a good kind of introduction to the possibilities of the dual shock 5. this is a great introduction to the possibilities

Of playstation vr if you were to pick up a playstation vr and a couple of move controllers you can play this with dual shock five by the way if you don’t have move controllers because they can be hard to find uh but yeah if you if you pick up a playstation

Vr on the cheap or whatever and you fancy uh giving it a go on your playstation 5 thoroughly recommend this game as one of the first to pick up especially if you like action games because it doesn’t because it’s on rails um the noise effect isn’t as high

As maybe um something like skyrim which can be completely free roam and that can be quite intense um i have all the comfort settings turned off here at the moment but comfort settings on this are pretty high you can have teleport move you can have vignettes and stuff it’s all good and um

There’s plenty of opportunities for everyone new or old to vr to enjoy this one sounds like i’m in the right place Okay i’m gonna try out my uh whatever this is forced oh looks like i’m going in loud do i need to do yeah i’ve got a breach i’ve got to prepare myself for breach oh run away not you buddy not you you’re safe hi yeah hello so yeah you took your [ __ ] time

Skidmarks these characters normally we’re quite detailed but there is just you could just see a lot more of the dirt and blood and marks on his face his tattoo seems sharper and more detailed than it was before so let’s get this picked clear nice give me a combat estimation root n i had

Eyes on seven to ten x-rays with longs and five x-rays with shorts best estimate okay go i’ve got along for you buddy wait what comes check roger that weapon check i’m all good weapon good safety off always fun move let’s go rock let’s go mess up some dudes

Did he just call me a wanker yourself it’s gonna be a [ __ ] hornet’s nest out there mate okay here we go time for some running and gunning we nice good kill mate are you doing don’t leave without me buddy let’s go okey-dokey ammo eat it [ __ ] you This is a fun game it really is they did a good job with this game and i hope we one day get to see a sequel on a playstation vr2 or something like that there’s no news of a playstation vr2 knowing sony and their uh abilities to just completely forget about cool pieces

Of tech like psps and ps vitas i’ll never put it past them that they just never do vr properly for playstation 5 but i would love it i’d love a playstation 5 ps vr2 brand new controller move controllers with thumb sticks those kind of things eat it oh yeah but whoa [ __ ] hell

What bullets did i put in this oh i forgot you can two hand weapons as well of course to make them a bit sturdier thanks helicopter oh yeah nice fist bump how are you driving hello this is yeah this game’s still awesome and i really do think it looks better

On the ps5 than it does on the ps vr um i especially like the fact that i shot a guy so hard he flew to the moon that was uh that was good that was good so yeah it’s an exciting game it’s fun great characters uh quite gentle for those of you uh

Well i would say it’s quite gentle actually it’s got a lot of comfort settings for those of you who are new to vr but it’s a great demonstration of everything you can do in vr in terms of interactivity shooty bangs using the move controllers and all that

Kind of stuff it’s a good guns it’s a good gun’s got gums got some bad news i’m afraid bad news unfortunately your there’s nothing anyone could have don’t think i can skip this but i’m really sorry mate i was going to try and um flights arranged so get your bags back so

My dad died you’re going down to london going back to london from the army and i london look at me on a planet up there and have a good lie down Do international arrivals yo what’s up brother such a crazy guy he’s funny my brother this is a new car yeah got a couple of months back he’s still wearing a horrible ring i lost it mum’s not going what time is it it’s nearly i’ve passed i should probably swap to a new

Game gary moss gary with a small leg gary with the small load indeed i have skipped that okay quick mission yeah i want to quit i want to quit now do i is there is Oh yeah aim with the face skill challenges of rhythm challenges skis shoot high and low clays just uh fancy giving a quick quick test of the old shooting mechanics a little bit more what kind of guns have we got here oh a shotgun how do we load this one

Do you just put it in okay nice and nice and easy i’d have to press it each time nuts bad aim ah oh i failed on three oh i missed that one i couldn’t even blow up the bottle terrible i’ve got that one can you press the button again

Whoa got one of them all right yeah shooting works uh so yeah great game love this game really one of my favorites in fact i think it was my number one uh psvr game for last year if i do remember rightly so anyway let’s bring up the switcher and let’s

Close our blood and truth and let’s um let’s let’s let’s try let’s try skyrim next it’s the next one on the q um what am i hoping with the skyrim vr is that low times are a little bit quicker load times on um skyrim vr on the playstation 4

Kind of slow hoping this one speeds things up a bit hitman vr uh is definitely gonna be amazing whether you’re playing on a playstation 4 or playstation five um okay so this intro area here looks brighter than i remember it uh distant objects definitely they have a fuzz to them that um

The blood and truth didn’t really have close objects again as well they’re quite textures are quite fuzzy that it’s not nowhere near as like a high resolution feeling as blood and truth but it seemed to load in a lot quicker than i remember it doing la la la la e and skyrim what

No i’m not performing i’ve what what is this i don’t care i’ve played this game in vr no i before want to i don’t want to teleport i want to there we go okay sweet i’ve got to do this crap wait a minute hold on a minute continue direct moving that one

Can i just can i just load my game i don’t want to start fresh i thought i had to save maybe i forgot to import myself oh my hands are grimy as [ __ ] i want smooth turning move to the pedestal to start the game all right

Let’s go so this game is quite intense for newcomers to vr especially if you were to have smooth move and smooth turning like i’ve got going here we go menu is um very low resolution the letters and stuff are quite quite blurry so i don’t think there’s

A huge amount of uh difference to the visuals on this one let’s see these the skyrim loads are always quite lengthy aren’t they let’s see how it works that was quick that was very quick and here we have a lovely sword so yeah like not hugely huge difference in visual quality i

Think but it’s the speed at which it loaded is much better everything else about skyrim vr seems to be pretty much the same there’s lydia how do we fuss road our lydia not that one not that one that’s we’re having some some squatting action how do i stand up again

Idea lydia help me i’ve squatted and i can’t get up oh [ __ ] no no there we go what oh she just stabbed herself in the ass never gets old let’s never gets old good old lydia let’s go and let’s go do a bit of adventuring lydia let’s we’ve got 15 minutes to wander

Around skyrim and get out to some kind of shenanigans what are you doing mate didn’t mean to do that not this kind of shenanigans oh no christ oh no i’ve killed the entire town sorry sven oh [ __ ] you weren’t even doing anything okay okay we’re good we’re good you just don’t no

Something i wanted to see if like maybe maybe the draw distance is oh no it’s bloody snowy up here i’m going to have to go a bit lower aren’t i um i want to see if the draw distance may be a little bit better on the playstation 5 against distant objects

Not really gonna be able to tell them and everything’s snowy as actually you know what let’s not go there let’s let’s go somewhere that’s still quite high up but not as snowy let’s go to vol time towers hopefully it’ll be a little bit nicer sorry for killing that chicken

The load times are way shorter though which is nice look at that well quick it’s night time as well let me try um what’s the wait button here we go let’s wait let’s get some daytime on the go have a little snooze till daytime let’s see what we can see here we go

Okay nice so yeah those matt just right off the bat those mountains that’s our low res it’s quite blurry definitely doesn’t seem as detailed as blood and truth but obviously you got the added ability of it loading a lot faster and maybe running a bit smoother probably runs a better frame

Rate i’m guessing but maybe it does don’t see like um like there’s not a huge amount of like graphical popping i’d seem to remember on the playstation 4 version trees and the like would pop in a lot uh when you’re a bit closer but everything seems to have loaded in

In the distance a lot better it’s a bit rainy now where’s lydia gone lydia she’s probably um probably got arrested killing all them people i would have 100 blame it on lydia don’t blame it on the sunshine blame it on the lady lady what is this this is a fox oh yeah

Oh oh that’s a good sword sorry fox don’t worry people wasn’t a real fox it was a virtual i know this is vr and it feels very real but don’t worry no animals have been harmed this let’s play lydia yes animals no what i really like about skyrim vr is

Being able to see all of the swords you’ve previously seen in the 2d version of the game i love that you can now like hold them in your hand and you can like move them around you can like you know check out how straight the blade is and check out the detailing

On the uh handles and stuff skyrim is quite an old game mind so um visually it’s probably not going to be as impressive as other titles because this was you know it was a xbox 360 ps3 title before it got ported to every single other console so yeah maybe the graphics

Aren’t as good a little bit of rock pop in there you know it’s still skyrim in vr it’s still an incredibly huge world full of awesome quests and to undertake and caves to explore and i just wish it was a bit more sunny you know it was a nice

Day i just it’s always the way isn’t it yeah you want to go and visit somewhere and you’ve been looking forward to it for ages and then it pisses it down bloody skyrim weather where can i go where’s like i want to go to a place where i can just kill a load

Of people um let’s get a map and we’ll go to a town what about windhelm windhelm’s gonna have a lot of innocent people for me to murder no i don’t wanna remove that and i wanna oh i’ve not discovered it yet okay wow wow how about then

Have i gone to solitude yet fast traveled to solitude yes i’m into solitude i’ve got four minutes basically to uh oh happy birthday to kamuro tetsu happy birthday kamuru tatsu hope you’re well uh if you did get your if you have ordered your playstation camera or

You haven’t done yet it does take uh playstation camera adapter for the playstation 5. it does take between bloody hell that looks nice just take between three to six business days mine took spot on six business days that is bloody beautiful like this game is not the sharpest or the clearest

In playstation vr terms but it’s bloody beautiful anyway i mean that sky is so good the colors and the northern lights and stars and then did that in the daytime when when it’s really sunny in this game you’re just trekking across the mountains it’s just really really feel like

You are there oh i recognize this pub this is where good bad and hell got into all that trouble with uh cedric during that unfortunate fencing uh episode i never realized that planet was so big just the sense of scale and size of things in vr

Is is what kind of fool plays with fire like that this kind here we go who else wants some you do solitude guards well they were a lot stronger than i thought they’d be absolutely absolutely destroyed me but i did get to stab that lady

And then set fire to her so there was that i want to play skyrim vr now says vandal honestly uh this is like one of the coolest games to play in vr especially if you’ve played the flat version of this game loads because it’s the the way i likened this to zoe

Was looking in a holiday brochure at all these flat photos of come here goat of places that you could uh you could go to on holiday looking at them in a photo album or you know a holiday brochure yeah and then actually being there after you’ve been staring at these photos for ages

Uh it it really is very cool visiting locations you’re familiar with in vr hello buddy hey oh rob button that kind of thing very fun as well being able to like fuss road our people off cliffs and then like watch like lean over and literally like look down and watch oh

Oh lean down and watch them fall i’m gonna go down and see if is he dead i think it might be dead it was quite way down and what was carrying his corpse you dead mate yeah that’s that’s definitely a dead orc there still still crouched there we go oh dear boop

What a way to go mate first rod off a cliff shouldn’t have shouldn’t have started a fight with me should you [ __ ] well i’m sure he’ll wash up somewhere at some point i wish i could do the uh the old swearing thing from blood and truth now

No there’s a fish is already fish is already feasting on your corpse [ __ ] okay lovely wonderful what what a game i really need to spend some quality vr time in this game again soon are you one for oh wow that’s really hot who else wants some you do lydia be careful

I’m sorry liz lydia follow me before we go on to no man’s sky i must push radar you off the cliff it’s it’s the only way that i can end this now you’ve finally turned up the place where i fostered the orc off was pretty pretty good

To be honest with you i enjoyed that so while um blood and truth has quite you know it’s quite a linear narrative you can only do what it wants you to do some of the joy of like being in uh skyrim in vr is the fact that you can

Just do whatever the hell you want be it tap a sword on the corpse of a dead mounted line or fuse rhodaring your faithful companion lydia uh hold on okay she’s going to crouch off of this cliff into that waterfall oh lydia oh lydia oh she’s got us are you dead lydia lydia

I can’t even lydia i can’t even help can’t even see her where are you lydia oh i think oh there’s [ __ ] just struggling for breath but no she’s gone again lydia i think she’s caught in a riptide whirlpool thing this is again lydia hold my hand i’ll help you up

Oh [ __ ] sorry lids oh god that’s just made it worse for you okay so that’s enough mpc torturing in skyrim vr graphically the playstation vr hasn’t really um done too much just don’t look happy with me um jesus from to the other side graphically yeah graphically hasn’t done

Too much seems to have a little bit of a longer load distance like better popping time for wow she’s probably having a she just shot me in the dick lydia ow um yeah graphically not too much difference loading times greatly improved but in terms of vr experiences

Skyrim’s up there as one of the most compelling and one of the ones that feels the most free and exciting to explore because you just there’s no rules you can go around and do pretty much whatever you want in whatever order you want so yeah definitely if you’ve got good vr legs definitely

Get skyrim vr on the go um turn off all the uh the comfort settings and you will be absorbed in you will forget that the real world exists outside this headset for sure for sure now next time next one for the next 15 minutes uh or 10 minutes i’m gonna try a little

Bit no man’s sky no man’s sky war has had a playstation 5 update this version that i’m playing right now i think i hope i hope i’ve loaded up the playstation 4 version in fact do you know what let’s check let’s double check um oh no not that one

So you’ll know if you’re doing no so i’ve loaded a playstation 5 version you see so hold on this is this is uh gonna be uh useful for those of you who don’t know how to do this so what i want to do is i want to close the game so

No man’s sky there just says no man’s sky doesn’t say ps4 next to it skyrim via says ps4 blood and truth says ps4 so how do you get no man’s sky to say ps4 so that you can play the vr version well you have to go down

To where it says play and then these three dots here and then on these three dots you can then play the ps4 full version of no man’s sky if you own no man’s sky on the playstation 4 already the playstation 5 version is a free download

Um i think occasionally you have to do it vice versa if um it says ps4 next no man it’s going to play the ps5 version you do the same thing you go to the three dots you select ps5 and you load that but there you go look top left now it

Says no man’s sky ps4 uh so i can now play this and it should launch me into the vr version of no man’s sky presser felidas has done mcclavey ah so yes um skyrim did not get a ps5 update as nightcat said it’s just backwards compatible same as no man’s sky

But it does have it does run slightly better and it definitely loads faster um i’m gonna play the game and i guess i guess i’m just going to start a new game i’m going to start a normal game and we’re going to hopefully there we go right so no man’s sky

Vr this bit now the the menus before were flat this bit now is in vr i am in a galaxy floating around and it looks the same the the writing looks like jittery and quite blurry does not look sharp the stars and the the cosmos looks nice but yeah no real change

To how uh low-res the writing is and the detail to the fonts are maybe as we get onto more planets we’ll see more detail on some more planets and i think this is loading a bit quicker this bit is always a long load and it is comparatively

Longer than anything that skyrim did but i guess it is loading in an entire infinite galaxy at the moment so you gotta give it that um okay here we go we are on the planet or i do no can first contact uh i have not played this for a while

So i’m going to be have you bloody spawned me first spawn on a radioactive planet okay excessive reach over your shoulder and press r to pick up your multi-tool i’ve not played this in ages the controls for this with move controls are bloody confusing anyway so um okay find sodium

Recharge radiation protection with sodium locate sodium with your scanner i’ll point at the rear scan okay test the scanner uh nope what scan scanner critically damaged ah shite gather ferrite extract fear up by shooting small rocks okay let’s go and shoot some small rocks get me some ferrite

Uh so yeah like distance the distance in this is vaseline vision exactly how it was on the playstation 4. um it’s a bit of a shame really because the only thing that really stopped me from spending a lot more time in no man’s sky vr was the fact that it was so blurry

And i’d get a bit of eye strain um scamming repair your scanner point at your left hand uh to access menus quick menu uh recharge nope no what am i doing pointing to your left hand sorry pointing at your left hand select inventory there we go scanner over during repair with right

I was hunting for science i don’t know if that makes a difference does it uh do you think this looks any better on ps5 a little less blurry says necessary pain no it looks the same it’s pretty much identical in terms of blur if you’re familiar with how this game plays in psvr

You’ll know that stuff close up when you’re in the cockpit of your spaceship it’s quite detailed um but yeah that distant and everything in the distance is blurry and flickery i come up close to my spaceship and i can see like that everything is a lot more detailed

Still graphics are quite low res textures but way more detailed the hands the gloves are really detailed up close but everything in the distance there it it’s like i should really be wearing glasses so let’s get in my spaceship and let’s take the f off okay we’ll have a fly over there because

One thing about this game was i used to love was flying across the surface of planets and scouting out like crazy like interesting places to land and it would be very evident while i was doing that of all the um the scenery popping in actually the pop-in of the scenery

Like at least the distant like the low-res stuff in the distance doesn’t seem as bad but if i slow right down and almost come to a rest here should see like more detail yeah loads more details slowly popping in as you get a bit closer so really visually um the backwards compatible version

Of no man’s sky feels no different to me at all visually or like even even speed wise the loading was at least the initial load it maybe was a little quicker but not hugely quicker but again again this is this game i have spent well between those like those saves that

You saw there i’ve spent over 40 hours exploring the cosmos in this game in vr and it is really um it’s it’s really cool i mean doing stuff like this just flying straight upwards be able to look back over your wing as the planet like you just the planet gets

Smaller behind you and you just pop out of the the planet’s atmosphere what’s the boost here we go boom and all these colors as you shoot out there we go now we’re in space there’s the planet we just came from slowly moving through space the boneyard

I think i named it the boneyard because there’s loads of old dinosaur bones on that he can harvest and the secrets so yeah uh in terms of improvements made by the playstation 5 i’d say this one is probably three steps identical like no real improvements made but it’s still a classic a kraken

Vr game um one that if you love the sense of exploration an adventure then this is this is one of those one of those games in vr that you really should try out because you again you’re not really constrained by any story line rules you’ve got a little bit of um

In front of you on a telly my friend jimmy who plays psvr with me sometimes he often plays it in this mode because when it goes full screen like this uh it can be quite in tense what why do the why do the clouds move on that’s not how clouds work

They’re fine when i move backs and forwards but when i turn the stick the sky spins that’s definitely a bug um i’m gonna have to try and ignore the fact that the sky is gone well look at that it’s just maybe i can go back in time if i spin

Fast enough that’s weird i don’t think that’s supposed to happen with the clouds that’s a perspective bug with the perspective or something uh anyway uh this looks like we have started right next to not only have we started right next to a um a sand crawler the jowers machine of choice

We’re also right by uh uncle owen and aunt beru’s house uh this is down is it down there is that down there where luke drinks his uh drinks drinks the blue milk this is the entrance to the house so uh spoilers around about here will be

The uh toasted corpses of uncle owen and aunt peru at some point i’ve got a little r2 unit over there and another droid there i’m going to check out down here first inside luke skywalker’s pad so he’s this looks like is that the place where um c3po gets an oil bath

So a lot of the uh oh is it there what is that is that oh it’s this little speeder this is a little garage or something i think a little fix a little place to fix up there the speeder bike all the textures have been replaced for star wars style texture

Maybe it’s this uh yeah everything’s been replaced with star wars the textures and of course um the people uh i think this was made by the minecraft team everything here is going to be a recreation of scenes and locations you remember from the star wars so we’ve got artberrus the [ __ ] i don’t

Uh you can use all the peripherals that you could before so you can like control things with the dual shock you can control things with move controllers it’s very easy to set up providing you do get one of those camera adapters you cannot do it without the camera that

Says oh yeah this is the area where uh he first finds um the child aka baby yoda they have that cool shootout um let’s start the first episode uh yeah this game runs weird well no well this dlc runs weird actually do you know what hold on hold on let’s go and

Let’s load up my save that i’ve so i’ve streamed um some minecraft vr before on my own personal youtube channel and i’ve also done a video of it for ian’s vr corner it’s this world here i’ve never had the problem with the spinny sky before

So the spinny sky if it happens now it’s a problem with this on playstation vr on playstation 5 even if it doesn’t happen now there’s a bug with that dlc let’s head outside and have a look oh yeah it’s here yeah it is a problem with the playstation 5 version of

Uh of minecraft of the the backwards compatibility of minecraft it seems that’s odd that is really odd that has never happened that never happens on the playstation 4 version of this game i’ve never he’s got gold now on i’ve never seen the sky have this kind of movement bug so whether

It needs a patch to work better with playstation 5 or not i don’t know but i presume if i went back and played this loaded this save on playstation 4 that wouldn’t happen so yeah backwards compatibility stuff um works okay there are some bugs i think the star wars squadrons had a weird

Lag with one of my eyes which had ghost images every so often which was weird blood and truth around perfect blood and truth was by far the best looking one of the games i played it has had like a ps5 ready update so um they’ve increased the resolution it runs at

In the game up to 4k so even though you can’t see it 4k in the headset it looks like a lot better and a lot sharper and there’s way more detail on the graphics on the textures and things uh what else did i play skyrim was exactly the same as it always is

Really good loaded a little bit faster no man’s sky seemed to have the fewest changes it was a bit blurry but it still played so basically yeah it’s you know it’s playstation vr on playstation 5 unless a game gets a special ps5 ready update like um blood and truth did which i’m

Gonna guess isn’t gonna happen to very many games that aren’t uh made by studios owned by sony you’re going to be looking at pretty much the same experience as you get on the playstation 4 but with maybe some added bugs while things get sorted like sorted out

And with um extra extra fast loading times on a lot of the titles uh playstation vr then is not dead yet it’s maybe slowly dying if um the games are only going to be released on playstation 4 and sony don’t announce a playstation vr2 ever i’d love that to happen but they

Have remained completely tight-lipped about that fact any new playstation vr games that come out will be playstation 4 only but you will be able to play them on the playstation 5 using the built-in backwards compatibility so you know you will still be able to get vr fixes

Uh it just i just i worry that because there aren’t any native playstation 5 vr experiences i worry that people will just drift away from the playstation vr and that sony will just let it die like they did with the psp psv2 and that kind of stuff so uh

You know my fingers are crossed for a playstation vr2 but who knows who knows whether that will happen or not i would love to see it happen because obviously i love vr and there is such a good amount of titles like even if you have a playstation 5 i would recommend

Getting a playstation vr if you can get one cheap maybe people are selling them off to ford playstation five now fives now if you can get one cheap there is a huge huge library of amazing vr titles to play in the ian’s vr corner playlist you will find list videos of my

Best games there’s a list video that um it’s it’s quite old now but there’s a list video there that tells you like there’s a list of some beginners games to try which is stationary experiences which give you a good uh introduction to the world of vr but without having

Like all this full body movement that can send people a little bit nauseous and then there’s i have got ones that are medium um comfort like for immediate people with medium vr experience and then people who are up for some extreme vr experiences i’d say this is quite extreme
