Minecraft 1.17 Chill Let’s Play – New Beginnings! | Episode 1

Hey everybody it’s infinite drift and welcome to the very first episode of my new minecraft let’s play series i’m honestly so excited to finally be doing this i’ve been wanting to do a let’s play for quite some time now 1.17 has been out for a bit and i’ve

Been playing it my most recent long plays but we’ll definitely still be checking out all the new things in the most recent update we’ll be getting the axolotls checking out all the new ores all of that good stuff i have tons of cool builds and other things planned for this series and fresh

World ready to go i’m so excited so let’s just get right into it all right first things first gotta punch this tree gather some wood so we can make a crafting table and a wooden pickaxe from there we can get all of our tools ready to go

Ideally in this first episode i would love to just explore the area hopefully find a good spot for a base and i would really really like to find spruce wood if we could just because that’s the main thing i use for all of my builds so if

We can get that then we’re pretty much set alright we’re just gonna make the pickaxe real quick hopefully we can find some stone and we’ll be on our way and sweet just like that looks like they’re stone right there easy peasy i like to just upgrade to stone right away just

Because using wood is incredibly annoying it’s so slow and i’m sure it’s not very fun to watch me mine with a wooden pickaxe so we might as well just get everything upgraded and ready to go and i’m gonna have to keep reminding myself that i’m playing on normal

Survival because when i play my long plays i’m usually on peaceful survival just because i want it to be as chill as possible so that means i’m gonna have to get armor i’m gonna have to remind myself to get a shield and i can’t just rush into caves like i normally do with

No torches or anything because the mobs will definitely get me they will not care all right perfect let’s just get all of our tools set up so we’ve got our fresh new pickaxe got the axe we’ll make a shovel too we’ll probably end up needing it and last but

Not least let’s make a sword and that should be everything so from there i think we should just kind of explore see what’s around here hopefully we’ll find a good area kind of stuck in the middle of a forest right now but we’ll see what’s around here hopefully there’s something good i’m

Just gonna grab a little bit of extra wood along the way just because it’s really it’s handy to have just stacks of wood with you wherever you go i mean you’re always going to need sticks torches chests you know what i mean and a pinch it helps to have all that stuff you

Never know when you’re going to need to make something all right there’s a bunch of pigs around here i’m so sorry i’m gonna have to i’m gonna need food so i’m sorry where are you oh no i’m so sorry i feel bad but i’m definitely gonna go hungry so i need food

All right that should be fine six six pork chops all right it looks like we got some water here looks like a little bit of a lake that goes on honestly i might just make a boat just because it’s easier to travel with it’s a lot faster so let’s do that

I can travel across the lake and see what’s around and oh yeah that’s a mountain which means if there’s a mountain then there’s gotta be spruce around which is awesome sometimes you can have a little bit of trouble finding spruce in some worlds yeah there’s the trees right there that’s great

So it’s really nice that we were able to find it so quickly especially because it’s something i pretty much need and if you have trouble finding it in the beginning then that’s not really fun so we got really lucky that is awesome there’s like a whole spruce forest right there

I’m just gonna grab this sugar cane because we’re gonna end up needing it anyway just i’ll plant it later so we’ve got like a giant field with a really big mountain in the back spruce forest honestly this area is really nice looking i’m really into this honestly

Like the only thing that we’re really missing is a village but i’m sure there’s one close by haven’t really done any exploring yet i really like this this open land gives you like a lot of opportunity to build i’m honestly considering just staying here to be honest got tons of animals

Got tons of land if you flatten this you could have like a nice house here with like a really nice mountain backdrop yeah i dig this this is really awesome honestly like i might just end up staying here we’ll see we’ll do some exploring first though you never know

You might come across something a little bit better but this is a ravine okay sweet got some iron we can definitely grab that that would be awesome we got some sheep okay what i’m gonna do first i’m actually gonna set down a crafting table here um

I’m gonna use the shovel i’m gonna dig around the ravine to get down i wanna make a bed as soon as i can here let me just make a furnace real quick so we can cook up some of the food while we’re doing that we’ll just put this in here

Yeah i want to get some shears so let’s dig down grab some iron we’ll be able to make some shears i’ll be able to make a bed so i won’t be scared at night and have to find fight off mobs we’ll be able to just sleep through the night it’ll be perfect and

Then after that okay we hit the iron suite after we do that after we make the shears we’ll be able to just hop back down and we’ll gather some resources in here because i’m sure there’s like quite a few things down there that we can grab this is pretty ideal okay

Pretty much got what we needed for iron that’s good enough okay i’m gonna make one more furnace and while i’m waiting for the iron i’m just gonna chop down a couple of trees just so we have a little bit of wood on hand because we’re probably gonna need it for stuff anyway

So that iron should be done for us we only need two for shears perfect all right buddies i need your wool i’m gonna grab just a little bit more just in case we’re gonna need tons anyway for picture frames carpets all that stuff so we might as well grab some and start

Storing it and while we’re here let’s grab these flowers we can make a red dye and we can make a red bed it’ll look really cool we’re pretty much set so we’ve got our dye and we’ve got the wool and a bed excellent okay let’s make two chests so we can

Start putting some stuff away while we mine down there so all of our stuff is safe and it’s not taking up too much space in our inventory we’ll just put in all the stuff that we don’t need for now and we might as well just head down

Because we have the bed so the sooner we get down the sooner we mine do more things after and we’ve got lots of food on hand which is great should be set for a while now all we really need are just some basic resources like some more iron we could

Use some more coal actually we don’t even have any coal yet so we’re gonna have to collect a bunch so we pretty much reached the bottom now just gonna level this off just so i don’t fall and i’m gonna set up my bed because it’s nighttime and we’ll have our first sleep

Okay now pretty much it’s just resource gathering time so we’re gonna grab a bunch of cobble stuff too just because i use a ton of stone with my build so we always need it for everything might as well just grab as much as we can now

It can be kind of tedious grabbing a ton of stuff in the beginning but honestly it’s so worth it to just get as much as you can when you’re gathering resources just so you’re not running back and forth when you’re building and you have everything on hand i’ve definitely like

Tried to make the effort to do that more just because i find that when you run out it almost feels like it takes longer having to run back and forth and back and forth so it’s just nice to have everything ready to go and honestly i

Just find it kind of relaxing just to have like a whole mining session or a whole session where you just chop down wood i really like doing those like little menial tasks there’s quite a bit of iron down here actually it’s pretty good so what i’m gonna do i hope that’s not mob

I don’t see any there might be one in here but i hear them unless there’s like a cave attached or something like that so what i’m going to do actually i’m going to throw down a quick crafting table here and i’m going to get some furnaces going just because i want to

Get some iron because my pickaxe is gonna break and it would be nice to have some iron bars so while that’s going i’m gonna grab some of this i always mine copper but i never do anything with it so please please everybody in this let’s play hold me

Accountable to use this copper because i never do i have stashes and stashes of it and i always think wow like copper looks so cool i love the way that it looks and builds yet i never do anything with it so i need to be pushed to do something

Because it’s just ridiculous i’m like why am i wasting my time collecting all of this if i never use it it’s not like i don’t like the look of it i think everything looks cool with copper but i’m just like i don’t know too stuck on using the materials that i always use

So my challenge for myself is to do a build that involves copper i haven’t tried the copper tools yet either i don’t know like what their durability or anything is like i don’t know if it’s close or similar to iron or not or if it’s a little bit weaker i have to look

That up still because i don’t even know if it’s worth it to make uh the tools out of copper i’m gonna make some torches real quick too actually just because it’s nice to have light just in case it’s actually like a pretty good amount of resources in this routine so at least

We’re getting a little bit of a start here when i get back up i definitely the first thing i need to do with the iron is uh definitely make some armor and possibly a shield the shield would be good too okay looks like it pretty much ends here yeah

This is not that big of a ravine actually i thought it would go on a little bit longer than it does but that’s okay we’re still getting like a fair amount of resources out of it so it’s all right but so before we head up and before i grab

All this stuff i’m gonna head this way past the water just to see what’s over here there’s probably a few more resources we can grab before we make our way back up we’ll grab this copper real quick let’s have a giant stash of it yeah this is a

Pretty small ravine that’s okay though still got a few things out of it and that’s all that really matters at least we got our basics and then after that we can pretty much just go off and explore and see what else is around ideally i would like to find maybe another cave

Just to get a little bit more iron because i don’t it’s not really enough eight and whatever i have in the furnace i could definitely use a little bit more okay so i’m gonna take all this stuff apart now and we’ll make our way back up up the stairs we go okay so

Let’s get the coal in here and we can start smelting this iron same with actually i’m gonna keep this coal aside we’ll get this copper going as well though and from here i think i’m gonna start making some armor uh can i make pants yeah i can make pants got a fancy helmet

And some leggings and then whatever’s left um i’m gonna make one more pickaxe because i think we’re gonna go caving some more somewhere so let me just make a couple more sticks and stuff we’ll definitely make a new pickaxe because we’re definitely gonna need it and the remainder i think i’ll make a

Shield as well if we can so i’m gonna try to keep this as organized as possible i’m so like i’m good at organization in the beginning but then i find that i just completely lose control of my organization after so hopefully hopefully i can keep things good for a while

It’s easy in the beginning but then once you get clogged with too many resources it just becomes like a really hard task okay shield so let’s get that can i make anything else i think i can make boots might as well oh wait yeah i don’t have boots yet

Perfect so the only thing we’re missing is a chest plate but it’s all good i think what we should do is go exploring though um i’m gonna keep the furnace with me and all that stuff in the bed obviously and i would definitely let’s

Take the boat out as well just in case i always bring a boat with me when i go exploring because it just helps you get across faster if you don’t have a horse we’ll keep the shears and stuff i have a pretty full inventory but it’s stuff that i kind of use so

Let’s just do that for now and i think what we should do is just go this way do we have enough food five should be enough i think i don’t think i’ll be out that long all right and off we go yeah i really like this area and bonus

There’s ocean around here too which is awesome honestly yeah this is dope i love having ocean nearby it’s really fun to explore by boat like it helps you get to places quicker and i don’t know i just really really like having ocean if there’s warm ocean too that would be even better but

This is great i love this little area i can just imagine like a little fishing hut and stuff here with a path that goes towards the mountains i don’t know i really like this all right looks like maybe we’ve got a cave here so let’s try let’s gather this stuff first

Definitely gonna need more coal oh sweet we got some iron too and when we get back from exploring definitely want to start setting up a little bit of a farming area we’ll get some wheat and stuff growing because eventually i would like to um i’d like

To make a little farm area for the animals and get all that started the sooner you get that stuff started the easier it is so this is a huge vein if we don’t come across a cave i mean i’m sure we will there’s tons of caves

Around here there has to be but we can always start a branch mine as well so all right let’s lay the bed down really quickly and go to sleep i don’t want any mobs coming after me i’m not ready for that yet okay let’s go in this cave gotta have my

Sword close by too and let’s see what’s in here is it seriously a dead end what oh i was hyping myself up for that i was getting myself all scared being like oh no i’m gonna have to face the little mobs and stuff oh well we got a huge ravine here though

Oh my god this one’s huge oh there’s tons of mobs in here though i know it look at that spider spinning around what’s he doing what are you doing i don’t know if i want to go in there yet the problem oh he’s going up the problem with ravines honestly is that

They’re big open spaces so you’re pretty vulnerable to attacks from like every side so i’m not sure i’m actually gonna go in there yet i don’t think i’m quite ready i’m not hyped up enough yet but what i am gonna do is since this is like pretty much

Mountainous we might as well explore by boat a bit and just see what’s out here i need to start off with the baby caves come on i only have a little bit of iron armor on me a shield i don’t have enough defense yet all right so over here pretty much

Same old spruce we got some planes got some horses though which is great there’s tons and tons of animals in this area it’s awesome it’s really sandy here though like little sand dunes haven’t come across any warm ocean yet but oh are you for real yo what

Are you serious oh my god yes what the hell badlands really oh my god i have never actually had badlands in any of my worlds like i’ve never they’ve been there but i’ve never come across them like i’ve never had badlands so close to my spawn in any world before so

I’ve never i’ve never ever come across them what oh my god i’m so excited yo this is so dope i’m actually super excited look at all the terracotta we’ve got we’ve got these cool mine systems oh this is gonna be so fun to explore i’ve gotta go in like i’ve gotta go take

A look i don’t think i’m gonna like fully explore just because i don’t know i’m not like super equipped yet and there’s gonna be tons of mobs but let’s go take a look anyway oh man this is gonna be great oh i’m so excited we can do like a whole entire episode of

Just exploring this area all right we got glo i don’t know what glow berries are i’ve never seen these before do they grow on like a type of tree or something i’ve never seen them all right we got some rails i’m gonna take all this stuff

Anyway we might as well why not i can definitely hear the mobs but we gotta take a little bit of a look you know a little looksy just to see what’s around ooh gold nice oh i’m so excited about this this is awesome yeah there’s a ton of stuff in here

I’m a little scared nice try bad shot oh god there’s an ender okay i’m gonna try not to look at him i’m gonna bring skelly over here see ya okay i’m gonna try to avoid most things here i’m gonna grab this gold for sure though

I can hear tons of mobs though i don’t think we’re gonna spend too much time in here but i want to just like take a quick little look around see what’s what oh gosh creeper oh there he is hey buddy hi what you doing oh it’s gonna explode dang

Oh well i don’t see any iron iron is kind of what i’m going for right now just because we’re really lacking it but i think i’m gonna get out of here for now we’re definitely gonna have to explore this area a lot more i just wanted to see you though

Oh i’m so hyped on this that’s awesome okay let’s head back that way towards the base i’m sure there’s like a cave system or something that we can mess around in for a bit i’m not sure exactly if i’m going to get to building the actual base in this episode just because

I really want to kind of like get a lay of the land i want to gather as much stuff as i can explore some caves start farming so we’ll definitely see but um i definitely have an idea in mind of what i want to build it’s one of the

Builds that i’ve done in my creative world it’s going to be two stories and it’s a little bit bigger than what i normally build so it’s going to give us a lot more space it’s perfect for survival i figured that if i’m going to be doing a longer let’s play i’m going

To need a lot more space so i just made the build a lot bigger than i normally do and i’m super stoked i want you all to see it and honestly if you like it i want you all to use it i love hearing in the comments about all

Of you guys using my builds in your worlds or taking inspiration from them it honestly means so much it’s so nice to hear like you have no idea it makes me so happy so yeah i hope that when i do this build you all like it and feel

Free to use it and use in your own worlds and all that stuff so yeah let’s just head back i think what i want to do is put a bunch of the stuff in my inventory and maybe we’ll kind of explore the mountains because i feel

Like there’s got to be some caves in there i don’t know if i’m going to go in that ravine right away i think it’s a little bit much for me just because i know i’m going to get ambushed by mobs around every corner it’s just not worth

It so let’s just head back and do stuff around here and try to grab some seeds along the way there we go and we’ll kind of start a farm over here so i’ve got my sugar cane i’m gonna start planting this for sure might as well get this going the sooner the better

And we’re gonna just head back put all of our stuff away i hear tons of zombies so i feel like there’s a giant cave system underneath me or something there’s gotta be one other thing that i need to do i’m definitely gonna hear eventually i have a feeling i’m gonna end up

Staying here i really like this area so i think i’m just going to put torches along here just to make sure i don’t fall if i fall it’s going to be really bad i don’t i don’t want to so at least i know that it’s there let’s put some lights around this area

So we’ll get all this stuff put away i’m gonna take the wheat i’m gonna start actually farming it a bit we’ll put all this stuff away though so yeah if anybody knows like if the glowberries grow on something let me know because i’ve never seen them in my life before honestly very interesting

So other than that um all right i got my inventory pretty much cleared out oh one more thing gotta make this i’ll just make one out of stone though and i’m gonna start a little tiny farm right by the sugar cane just so we can get stuff growing that way we can make

Animal pens and a little farm for the animals there we go all right let’s just get this planted perfect and i have a little bit more sugar cane so let’s just put this down as well i just want that beside the other ones otherwise it’s gonna bother me we can

Head to bed real quick and then in the morning we can do tons of exploring all right got my armor i’ve got my shield and i’m ready to explore i’m hoping to find a pretty good cave system i just need a lot more just i just need

A lot more resources honestly kind of lacking right now but i just want to know what’s around here too i’m hoping that we can also find a village soon the sooner we find one the better honestly it really i really really hope one is close by lots of coal deposits around here which

Is good this looks like a little cage system though this is dope let’s try this out come on this looks promising okay here we go here we go got some coal oh dead end though what i hear all the zombies though so it has to connect i bet if i dig it will

Connect but oh yeah there’s tons of stuff going on in there it’s a little bit frightening so i think we’ll just kind of gather what we can here for now and then we’ll just be on our way oh my gosh they sound like terribly angry i forget how scary this game is this

Game is genuinely kind of scary i don’t know if anybody else feels that way but i get scared when in caves and when there’s like a lot of mobs around especially endermen they actually they disturb me they’re scary i hope i’m not the only one although i do i still do love playing

Normal survival it’s it is my favorite i love playing peaceful it’s really really fun in a different way but it is a lot of fun to have that challenge of surviving because it is surprisingly like a lot harder than you think there’s just like dead ends everywhere

But lots of coal though so i’m just gonna gather a little bit of what i can we’re gonna need it anyway these mountains are really doing me dirty here lots and lots of coal deposits but it’s not exactly what i need right now i just need iron honestly worst case scenario though we

Can just dig down and make a branch mine but i kind of like to do that as last case for now just because the cave system has gotten so good where i find it’s really easy to find iron and stuff so i don’t know i just like exploring that

Stuff especially for let’s plays and things like that just makes it a little bit more interesting i’ll definitely start a branch mine though like on my off time but yeah i think what we should do um these mountains don’t really look too promising i’m like maybe we should

Just go off exploring that way and see what’s over there as well we might as well pretty much just get like a lay of the land hopefully i can find some area that’ll have some good stuff all right let’s head off this way along this shoreline

Took that way the other way up this way found badlands which was awesome and oh my god are you kidding me i was like i hope a village is really close by it was literally a couple blocks away from my vision oh yes and it’s like a spruce village

These ones are my favorite they’re so pretty this area is honestly perfect okay i’m pretty much like set on staying here and is this a cave i’m hoping it is oh it is definitely a cave oh no oh dear lord oh no they were just waiting for me they saw

Me boating around having a good time and they were like no where’d the other one go i saw him he went off into the shadows i see him right there look he turned around he’s like i don’t know it’s a bad idea i love it when they fight each other

Though it’s so funny i’ve had it happen like a couple of times but each time it’s just magnificent ah it’s not even a big cave either they lured me into nothing absolutely nothing oh this is awesome i’m so excited that i found a village my friends hello so nice to meet you all

Hello i am probably gonna take your stuff but i promise oh they have iron and a pickaxe great and boots nice i’m just gonna take all this stuff i need it in my long quiz i don’t usually take all of it just because honestly i don’t need

Food if you’re doing peaceful you just don’t really need as much stuff but you know what i’m going to take all of this i am sorry friends my inventory is going to be a mess i’m sorry i’m taking all of your stuff but at least i always close your doors on

The way out and i don’t let a draft in at least i’ve got that going for me hey buddies all right what we got iron we got tons of pickaxes this is dope i don’t know i closed the door on myself there’s just doors going crazy everywhere

It’s all these kids running around it’s a pretty decent sized village oh this is so nice i am so happy what a great find so in this episode it seems like we found a good place to set up base a really nice open field found the badlands which is just

Incredible now that’s like a really good cave system that we can go through just something that i want to do a little bit later i’d love to save it for an episode especially because it’s going to take a little bit of prep there’s just a lot

Going on in there and we found a village i don’t know if i already said that but yeah we’ve got pretty much everything here it’s great i’m just gonna run through the rest of this and just see if i can grab what i need and then we’ll be

On our way i’m gonna grab this wheat real quick so we can get some cows and sheep in a little farm area okay so i’ve pretty much grabbed everything that i need to grab from here this is just totally awesome we’re pretty much honestly set up i would say

Um the only thing we’re missing resources but hey i can get those pretty easily so i think we’re pretty well set up honestly i’m really really excited about this area it’s looking very promising so i think maybe what i’m gonna do now is i’m just gonna set up a little um

Farm area maybe just gonna make some fencing and i’ll be able to get some sheep and some cows just because we’re gonna need a lot of um wool and a lot of leather so might as well get that started up now okay so i’m gonna use spruce i’m gonna

Make uh some spruce fencing and we’re gonna make a little fenced area and get some cows and some sheep in there so we can start a little farm let’s get a little gate going we might want to do a little bit more fencing just to be safe

I never know how much i need so better safe than sorry we’re gonna use it for other stuff anyway and then what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna get this white wool gonna make a little white carpet so we can jump to and from inside and out

Okay so i think i’m gonna set up the little farm area just right here for now it’s not gonna be anything special we’re just gonna make sure they’re all safe and happy in here so let’s just do a little pen right here and honestly i think i might just end up

Putting the cows oops and the sheep in here at once and we’ll deal with sorting them all out later so we got a little area set up right here i’m just going to put like a little dirt block here so i can get them easily in there

And i’ll put my carpet right here so i can hop in and out easily and i got my wheat hey buddy come here you too hello let’s all go here let’s all be friends here we go awesome all right now we’re gonna do the same thing but with the cows there was a

Bunch over here so i’ll just run over here quickly and grab them hey buddies come here we’ll all be friends whoa three of ya we will all be friends and go off together let’s go oh we lost one come on don’t you want this delicious wheat yes i know you do Perfect come on buddies We can all be friends over here if you just step up on this platform amazing you are all so amazing and i love you all except i only have a little bit of food i’m very sorry oh yeah got that set up and i don’t think any of my wheat is ready

No not yet but that’s okay at least we got a little pen set up so they’re all safe and sound there and we’ve already got our farm so hopefully all this wheat will be ready soon it’s a pretty good little beginning here i’m pretty pretty satisfied

So yeah i think we’re off to actually like a really good start we got like our basic resources set up we’ve got animals we’ve got some more food over here starting to grow and i’m really happy that we found a good spot and we’ve kind of come up with like a plan for

What we can do in this area so it all feels like it’s starting to come together we’re definitely not going to have time in this episode to build the house but that’s okay because honestly i’m really excited to do it in the next episode um is gonna require a ton of resources like

A ton of wood and a ton of stone but that’s okay i’ll gather all of that off camera and i’ll go through the build with you all i’m really excited to do i’m really excited to show you all i think this is the perfect spot for it

I’m just really excited to have like a really cool mountain backdrop and then we can kind of terraform all of this land have some like nice ponds and all of this stuff it’s gonna it’s just gonna look really cool so yeah i think that’s kind of it for

The episode today did like a lot of exploring um did a lot of basic resource gathering just got a lay of the land we found a village we found badlands so we found like a really good cave system over there and i think in the next episode gonna do

The house we’re gonna do a little bit more exploration i would love to find a really nice cave to explore with you all get some more iron hopefully some diamond soon right and yeah i think that’s pretty much it thank you everybody so much for watching
